Dark Hearts #2

Dark Secrets

Rate this book
I was once a teenage girl with a normal life, a roof over my head and a mother that loved me. I'd never really been on a date unless you counted that time I went out with my BFF for a sandwich. I'd never been to a high school prom or even danced with a boy. Actually, I'd never even had a real kiss from a boy. Now everything has changed.

My life is full of surprises including six guys who claim they either love me or have strong feelings for me. I'm not sure what normal is, but they sure aren't normal. Neither is what they are planning for me. One of these hot guys is a gargoyle, there are two handsome wendigoes in the mix, a golden sun seraph that is breathtakingly good looking, an ancient shape shifter with the most beautiful eyes, and a powerful warlock whose charming bedside manner could sweep a girl off her feet.

Right now, I'm on the run from the evil William Dark and his Dark Hearts, who plan to destroy the world with my unwilling help. I'm also running from all six of the guys. I brought too much trouble to them. They also lied to me , which is something I don't tolerate. Well, I was running, until I fell into the arms of a cantankerous vampire.

Dark Hearts are relentless and deadly. I was fleeing from all of them, when the ice storm got so bad that a tree branch fell across the hood of my car shattering my windshield in the process. That's when I met the tall, dark and devastatingly handsome vampire that quite possibly is my seventh boyfriend or whatever you call paranormal male partners.

I don't think my life will ever be the same, but having my first dance with a boy serenading me in a cave might be considered pretty romantic. It was to me. Actually, it was one of the most romantic things any guy has ever done for me, but that's just the beginning of my adventures. I'm learning a few dark secrets about myself along the way, too.

Like the plot, not the execution

A high school senior learns that her life isn't what she thought and has 7 guys vying for her affection? Sounds like a great story. But the actual writing was okay. Most of the characters can be annoying and the main character Emma seems soooooo naive and loves to make stupid decisions. This first book was very repetitive but this book was way better in that aspect. There are a few scenes that seem as if they're talking in circles but not nearly as much as book 1. Even though this book isn't a favorite, I'll still read future books because I want to know what happens to Emma and her guys.

Bad writing

As with the first book, I desperately wanted to like this but the writing was so bad I kept getting pulled out if the story. I couldn't stand Emma. She was such a simpering fool. The boys however, were fabulous. I especially liked Victor and in very glad he didn't sparkle.

Good read

I really enjoyed both books in the Dark Hearts series, my only complaint is there was enough interaction between Emma and her guys. I really wanted to see them get to know one another and see their relationships grow more. Hopefully the next book will have more interaction between them.

Just when u think that they will be ok, bamm! Something else happens. Keeps you in the edge of your chair til the end and the you fall off the damn edge. The story's keeps you up at night, just waiting for the next book.

I love the story but...

Loving these stories but spelling and grammar needs to be corrected! That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I'm looking forward to the next book!
