USA Today Bestselling Author Gaja J. Kos writes steamy urban fantasy and paranormal romance, rich with sizzling tension and soulmates who come in pairs, menage, or reverse harem constellations. Why choose, right?

At the beginning of Shadow Moon it said that this is an urban fantasy set in the same world, the Kolvrat universe, as other novels written by Gaja J. Kos, but can be read as a standalone. I would be interested to read the other books in this world after reading this one.
As for the plot, it was pretty good. Lotte and Alec are both werewolves who were also professional tennis coaches. When one of their trainees turns up dead with what looks like performance-enhancing drugs in his system, Lotte helps a detective look for the dealer of the fatal drug. Now this sounds like a typical murder mystery plot, but add in supernatural creatures, werewolves and vampires, and the plot becomes much more interesting.
I would probably classify this as a New Adult novel, rather than a Young Adult novel because there are sex scenes. I typically don't read too much NA, but in Shadow Moon the sex and romance isn't a primary focus, so it didn't bother me too much. There's also a bit of cursing, so that bothers you then this may not be for you.
The pacing wasn't the best. Even though this was a short read, I did find myself getting bored at times. The writing was good though and the plot and urban fantasy elements kept me interested. I would continue reading books by Gaja J Kos or continue the series. I think if this wasn't a NA novel the plot wouldn't lose momentum with the sex scenes thrown in, but some readers love that kind of stuff.
The rising action and climax of the story were delivered with appropriate intensity. The action and tension ramped up, keeping you excited and flipping the pages for the last third of the story. Gaja J Kos knows how to deliver an ending and I would like to read some of her other books based on my experience reading Shadow Moon.
The first thing I noticed about this novel is that the author is erudite and the typo errors limited. Always a good start to any novel or series, and I'm totally mesmerised with Gos' work. The depth and clarity of the characters excellently showcase the plotline, adding complexity and a 3 dimensional view into the storyline as a whole. Lotte is a sensitive character and not without flaws, this adds to her credibility, showcasing her strengths and giving depth to relationships that adds extra quality to the novel.
Although the plot isn't an original one, the execution is well done bringing originality to both the storyline and the novel, together with the introduction of fresh characters that adds interest to the book whilst maintaining the readers attention.
I will say, because I'm just that petty, that every time I read the name 'Rihard', my mind had to defaulted back to the name 'Richard' although I do applaud the author for not choosing stereotyped, overused names. My second pet peeve is that I hate tennis, and there was just too much tennis in here, and the book loses a star for this reason. I consider that the novel may have been better off without choosing a specific sport but to refer to training in an athletic manner, for instance to describe exercising as a replacement sport such as jogging, gym exercises, light weight lifting etc, rather than constantly flogging the tennis element.

We learn that she left her pack to start playing tennis. When a gambler is found dead, Isa main agent thinks of a criminal act, she asks Lotte to learn about a lethal drug. She will have to trust her werewolf instinct before another murder is committed.
A captivating story, with the character Lotte Endearing, too eager to read more.
There are certain elements that just make my day when I am reading. The storyline has to be complete without taking forever to get into the action. The characters need to feel alive within the first few chapters. I want to be kept in the dark about who the antagonist is. And I want a unique scenario. This book covered it all! Even the erotic scenes were tasteful and didn’t make me feel as though the books main purpose was erotica. I want a story to be the priority. Kudos for the excellent read!
Lottie gives up pack life to pursue a career in tennis. Little does she know that she’ll be involved helping to solve a murder. What an outstanding book by this superb author of many books. I’m hooked on anything this author writes. I reviewed because I loved it. Don’t miss out once it’s released.
Another fantastic story by Gaja K. Kos I just love her books. Lotte gave up her pack to pursue a quiet life playing tennis but a player is found dead so an agent from the inter species crimes and relations steps in to try and solve the crime. Agent Isa Vogt believes that it’s the performance enhancing drug that is killing the athletes so he requests the help from Lotte to try and solve this case before anyone else dies. This is a wonderful entertaining story and an original one at that, great cast of characters great plot and storyline. An action packed romance with the supernatural, mystery, danger and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Little and Alex are retired tennis pros, passing on their skills as coaches to the young up and comers. When one of their players died unexpectedly from illegal drugs, Lotte is forced into the investigation to discover how it happened, why it happened, and who is responsible.
Wow, what a ride! Fast and furious, the pace is breakneck from start to finish! Couldn't put it down! Excellent character development, complex plot twists, and sexual heat that just doesn't stop!
This was wonderful! I loved what the author did with mixing professional sports and a fantasy myth world together. There was a good amount of action with the sports part of the story and the mythology fit in perfectly! I absolutely loved this and would definitely read more stories in the future by this author.

I love reading the stories from Gaja as it is always filled with action, romance and intrigue. There is so much going on and she slowly reveals the plot. Lotte is one kickass heroine. So looking forward to reading the second book.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
Fantastic read and characters were great how they come together. It’s a captivating read and can they solve it together. I was given this book via Booksprout for a honest review
This series of erotic romance paranormal suspense tales has it all. The author's 'Kolovrat universe' burst into being in Slovenia and swept up the paranormal beings once in hiding, up-ending the relations between regular humans and all the compatible species in a surge of unleashed magic. Lotte, our heroine, is the little sister of characters dealt with in other series by this author, but she is far from insignificant. Before the change she was already a rising tennis star, but her home city of Munich has become headquarters of interspecies tournaments and coaching young supernatural athletes like herself could easily fulfill her destiny-- until those she coaches start dying from a designer drug that targets them.
Pack instinct to protect them has her calling upon family allies and tapping new skills to prevent an international incident, all the while enjoying plenty of erotic romps and Paulaner beer. But Lotte is packless for a reason; she does not want to tie herself beyond friendship. Volume 1, Shadow Moon, brings her reward in her sports career. and she saves lives.
Werewolves, vampires oh my. This is the first time I've read Gaja Kos, it won't be the last. This is very well written. But I felt like I was missing something. I probably would have loved it had I read the rest of the stories from her world. I look forward to getting the other books in this world. I wish we could give half stars everywhere, I'd have given this a 3 1/2 stars. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Wonderful characters, Page-turner, Great world building, Unpredictable, Original, Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Action-packed. After the War, Lotte gave up the pack life to pursue a career in tennis. But one of the player she was coaching turned out dead and she is forced to find out what happened.
It was a pleasant light reading. I haven't read the previous series, it doesn't really impair my enjoyment except maybe during one moment when it is obvious knowing other characters would have helped appreciating it.
I like having a book set in a different place than my usual readings, Munich. I had a mild interest watching tennis so I found the sport believable in the book and it is such a change of background. I won this book in the giveaway.
This book is a serious page turner! I could barely put it down to sleep. I was grabbed by Lotte and the surrounding cast of characters are well written and each has a unique voice. This book is a wonderful mix of paranormal, mystery, and suspense with a dash of romance thrown in for good measure. It's probably one the most well-rounded stories I've read in years. I just can't praise it enough. I will be sure to grab book 2 as soon as possible.

When you write a book about a tennis coach werewolf sexy spy, you kinda need a sense of humor about it. This book doesn't. The murder mystery plot is thin to begin with, and ends with a total There isn't consistency in the werewolf's powers either.
"Best friends, with a dash of intimacy thrown in whenever we needed it."
Lotte is a tennis coach whose greatest concern ought to be how her too tier athletes do in the upcoming international paranormal tournament, unfortunately a death among the competitors steals more than its fair share of her attention.
This done in one book focuses on the challenges of competition, the pressures and training, and balances that against the remarkable friendships that develop on the court.
There's nothing bad that I can say about this book. I really love the story. It was fast paced with plenty of action and romance. I wasn't familiar with the author before but now I am a fan. The story was captivating and I was sucked from start to finish. The story details were vivid.

Sports intermingled with the paranormal was a pretty cool premise. This book had the suspense, the mystery, the hot steamy scenes and magical paranormal aspect to make it a great read. The characters are fully developed and the interactions are interesting. A great first book.
