Can you remember your first love? Have you ever wondered what would happen if you had a second chance to follow your heart? In this collection of novellas written by award-winning and bestselling authors, come home to Echo Ridge as summer winds down and hearts once broken and lost are given one more chance, a second chance to love.
A Brand New Second Chance by Lucy McConnell With a broken heart and an unsure future, Abigail Martin moves home to Echo Ridge to capture the parts of her teenage years she missed out on because she’d had a steady boyfriend. Kissing a random guy, flirting with strangers, hanging out at Fay’s after a football game—all of it. Carter Montgomery offers his help, because he’s a helpful kind of guy, and she quickly falls for his quiet humor, kindness, and heated kisses. Fearing that she hasn’t lived enough of life to settle down, Abigail must decide if she’s going to break Carter’s heart or give love a brand new second chance.
A Perfect Fit by Janette Rallison Jojo Halifax believes that winning Echo Ridge's float competition is just what her fledgling art career needs. And if that means giving her ex-boyfriend, Anthony, a second chance so she can be a designer on his team, well, she's willing to make the sacrifice. But when a lost bet leads to a blind date with her brother's friend, Wyatt, she begins to have second thoughts about second chances. Wyatt is handsome and charming and just might have been paid to make her forget about Anthony. Is falling for his charm worth the risk or should she take Anthony back again?
Almost Home by Heather Tullis Damon lived in ten towns while growing up, but Echo Ridge is one of the few that started to feel like home before his parents relocated their family again. Now a widower, moving back to the small ski resort town is irresistible for him—but somewhat less so for his daughter, Maggie. Learning that Haley, the girl who had gotten away, is back in town is an unexpected bonus.
When Haley left a high-powered job in New York City to take care of her grandmother, she never expected to run into the boy she’d been crushing on sixteen years earlier. When they end up working together on the homecoming float, she finds the attraction between them just as compelling as before. But when given a choice, will she give him her heart, or leave love behind to return to her job in the city?
Change of Plans by Cami Checketts Kaitlyn Johanson comes home to Echo Ridge planning to bring the sparks back with her high school boyfriend, Mason, work at Kenworth's, and enjoy family and the beautiful valley. She never expected her heartthrob, national-acclaimed lacrosse player, Axel Olsen, would visit her hometown. When Axel steals her attention and possibly her heart from the man she was supposed to marry, she has to choose if she'll take a risk on new love or give old love a second chance.
Coming Home to Love by Rachelle J. Christensen When Laney Richins left Echo Ridge, New York eight years ago, she vowed she’d never return, but life had other plans. Those plans included her cute little boy and a divorce, so Laney moved back home and started over. Working in the flower shop seems like the perfect plan until Billy Redford, the man she should have married shows up. Billy Redford’s heart was broken when his high school sweetheart turned her back on him and fled Echo Ridge for the big city lights. Running into Laney in Echo Ridge now brings up past feelings he thought were long gone. She’s prettier than ever, still seems to read his mind, and despite his protests ends up on the building and decorating committee with him for the Homecoming dance.
With that in mind, she's written over 200 novels full of fun and flirty characters who navigate the turbulent waters of romance with open hearts and creativity.

I decided to just review this as I go, so this will get updated a few times.
A Brand New Second Chance - 5 Stars This was a great story, I really enjoyed it. It starts out strong, really sucks you in and makes you want to keep reading to see how Abigail's story will unfold. Abigail is a likable character, easy to relate to and root for. When her world is turned upside down, she brushes herself off and keeps on fighting. Carter is also very swoony, and a good fit for Abigail, but will she actually be brave enough to give love a second chance?? Cute story, I always enjoy Lucy McConnell's books.
A Perfect Fit - 5 Stars I'm a really big fan of Janette Rallison books, she is an amazing writer. I always always love her stories and characters and this was no exception. I really loved this story. Jojo and Wyatt were such a fun couple, and I loved the plot for this one. The small town charm and working on floats for a local parade. I wanted to go to that parade and see all these cute floats! This is romantic comedy at its finest, would make an adorable Hallmark movie!
Change of Plans - 4.5 Stars Another fun read! I liked Kaitlyn, but she was sure in a tough situation, she's in a long-term committed relationship, with a really great guy, that has lost its spark and feels herself drawn to someone else. Axel Olsen, and their chemistry is off the charts! I thought it was handled well and was realistic as she tried to be fair and honest in her feelings for Mason and in her desire to explore her feelings for Axel. I think love-at-first-sight is romantic and I love hearing about those stories in real life. It's not a favorite for me in books though, I just like the tension and more slow growing love stories vs the insta-love romances. I still thought this was a fun read though and I love the small-town charm and endearing characters.
(4.5 Stars) A BRAND NEW SECOND CHANCE -- 5 Stars Sometimes high school sweethearts last and sometimes they don't. Abigail was so wrapped up in her boyfriend from high school and on, that she missed out of a lot and couldn't shine. Coming home single allows her to find her true destiny and I loved that she's not afraid to jump back in and take chances. I enjoyed watching her live her teenage years the way that she should have and loved the swoony kisses that resulted from her adventures. I love the idea of enjoying that time of life and getting to experiencing those things, even though it is during another phase of life.
Coming home to Echo Ridge is like going back home to my small hometown and brings a lot of nostalgic feelings. The traditions and familiar characters really bring a lovely feeling to the story.
A PERFECT FIT -- 5 Star This collection is all about Homecoming and the parade with business-built floats is the cap of the week. Jojo is a talented artist but doesn't believe in herself. Her brother's ploy to get her away from her loser boyfriend is for his college friend to seduce her. With humor and fun, this romantic comedy won my heart, especially with the tender moments that came stemmed from love. Jojo and Wyatt are both charming and sweet and this story captured my heart.
ALMOST HOME -- 4 Stars Stories of sacrifice always warm my soul. Haley leaves a great job in the city to care for her aging grandmother and that move proves to be smart for her romantic life. Damon moves back home, hoping a change of pace will help his teenage daughter deal with life after her mom's death. Each character puts others before their own needs, but that doesn't stop love from seeping into their busy lives. I loved Damon's daughter, Maggie, because she really brings them together through her infectious personality and bond with the grandma. The importance of family really shines through.
CHANGE OF PLANS -- 5 Stars This story didn't overlap with the town's Homecoming celebrations as much as the others, but I swooned like you wouldn't believe. Kaitlyn has a long-time steady boyfriend, but the sparks are gone and she can't help but to come alive around lacrosse superstar, Axel. Their instant connection is full of magnetic chemistry and although I didn't completely agree with how it all played out, I was a definite fan of the risks and outcome. Sometimes you just have to trust and follow your heart.
COMING HOME TO LOVE -- 4 Stars A second chance with a high school sweetheart is very endearing, especially when the timing is finally right. Sometimes life's experiences need to shape and mold a person to who become who she is meant to be and that's just what happens with Laney. Billy had his heart broken before but now is the time to hold on to what he's always wanted. This is a sweet cap to the collection and I enjoyed it. The whole book left me feeling like I was in Echo Ridge to visit old friends and to make new ones and I hope I get to visit again soon.
Content: mild romance in all; very mild religious elements in a few of them.
This was a fun collection! I've read a few other Echo Ridge books here and there the last year or so and it was fun to see some of those characters as crossover characters or mentioned, albeit sometimes just a quick mention, in these stories.
I love the town of Echo Ridge. The first three books in this collection all seemed to center around the 4th of July parade and the characters creating a float for the float competition. The stories all take place in the summer time. Some of the characters have a little bit longer reconnection and some shorter.
I absolutely love second chance stories. I love the possibility of redemption and fixing mistakes, especially between characters who have history and just need to look at things with a new perspective. These stories definitely allowed for mistakes to be fixed and another chance at a happily ever after even if it took some time for the characters to come to the realization that they still loved each other.
I loved Janette Rallison's and Cami Checkett's and Rachelle Christensen's and Lucy McConnell's and Heather Tullis' books. Ok, I just named all the authors, yes I enjoyed them all. LOL. Great characters, fun storylines, sparks, swoony kisses, friendship, kids, parades, floats, hikes, waterfalls, picnics, sparks, sparks and more sparks and of course second chances.
Content: Clean.
I received a review copy. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
This is the first Echo Ridge Anthology that I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Five stories by five different authors, with a common theme, but the characters from one story can appear in one of the others. It's not as confusing as I may have made it sound. The stories take place in a small town in New York state so of course they run into each other or have lives that intersect. Three of the authors were fairly new authors to me (as in I've only read one of their books or novellas before).
A Brand New Second Chance by Lucy McConnell--Abigail Martin leaves the city, her cheating boyfriend, and her back-stabbing boss behind to move back home to let her heart heal and figure out what she wants to do next. Once she's home Abigail realizes everything she missed in Echo Ridge by only dating Jace all through high school and college. It's a sweet story that includes a somewhat meddling mother trying to set her up with hottie Carter Montgomery.
A Perfect Fit by Janette Rallison--JoJo Halifax's brother, Garrett, doesn't like her boyfriend Anthony at all, so he wants his roommate from Harvard, Wyatt Nelson, to take her out and make her "at least fall out of love with Anthony". Wyatt is handsome, witty and funny, while Anthony is a manipulative, pretentious artist who thinks he's smarter and better than everyone else. The more time JoJo spends with Wyatt, the more she sees how different he is than Anthony. Unlike Anthony, Wyatt thinks she's a talented artist. This was one of my favorite stories, I loved the family dinner scenes. Janette Rallison can write some funny scenes and I thought this one would be great as a romantic comedy.
Almost Home by Heather Tullis--Damon Anderson's wife died about 15 months ago and his 12 yr old daughter, Maggie, started getting into trouble, so he moves to Echo Ridge to open up his own architecture business and help Maggie get a fresh start. Needless to say, she's not happy about this sudden move or the community service the judge has ordered because of some trouble she got into before the move. Haley Richie left her job at an advertising firm in NYC to take care of her grandma (aka Gran) and works at Fay's Cafe. They reunite while working on one of the floats for the homecoming parade. I really liked this story and the way Damon wanted to do what was best for his daughter so he leaves a well paying job to start his own business so he can spend more time with her. Haley turns down a promotion to move back to Echo Ridge to take care of her Gran, so she doesn't have to leave the house she's lived in since she was a newlywed. The scenes when Haley's family comes to town (Gran had an accident and ended up in the hospital) were so well written and believable, I got really upset with Haley's family and started talking to my book!
Change of Plans- Cami Checketts--Kaitlyn Johanson's been thinking of telling her longtime boyfriend, Mason, she wants to date other people since she feel their relationship is more like best friends than girlfriend/boyfriend. She's back home in Echo Ridge for the summer, and besides working at Kenworth's department store she hopes to be able to "reconnect" with Mason. She's in for a BIG surprise when she sees her major crush, national-renowned lacrosse player, Axel Olsen, in Kenworth's!! Axel's been watching Kaitlyn at his soccer matches for months and can't believe she's in Echo Ridge where he's doing a soccer camp for kids. Will Kaitlyn try to reconnect with Mason or give in to the connection she's starting to feel for Axel? I felt for Axel since everyone in Echo Ridge seemed to be rooting for Kaitlyn and Mason. Kaitlyn and Mason didn't let anyone know they were going to date other people so everyone assumed Kaitlyn was cheating on Mason with Axel. This is one aspect of a small town I would find hard to live with.
Coming Home to Love by Rachelle J. Christensen--Lainey Richins left Echo Ridge 8 years ago to escape small town life and marry Dane Peterson. Despite vowing that she'd never live in Echo Ridge, she's back in town, divorced and with her 5 year old son, Oliver. Billy Redford has also moved back to Echo Ridge. He's the boy whose heart was broken by Lainey when she left 8 years ago. They end up working together on a project for the Homecoming dance, but will it lead to them working their way back together? To me, this novella was a true second chance story. I liked that Lainey realized she needed to apologize to Billy for leaving him even though it happened so long ago. Her ex-husband's appearance added something to the usual former girlfriend/boyfriend get back together storyline. These are all clean romance stories.
From the first sentence of this story, I had a smile on my face. This is my favorite Lucy McConnell book that I have read. Carter was so perfect, always seeming to know exactly what to do. Abigail (I did wonder that no one used the nickname Abby for her), was broken and insecure after having her life fall apart though she was obviously popular in high school (former Homecoming Queen). The sweet way she honored and loved her parents was great. The writing of the story was perfect and engaging throughout and the pace was perfect. There were a few things I thought might end up happening, but the fact they didn't did not detract from the story.
Yes, this story was truly laugh out loud funny. Through most of the story. Wyatt couldn't have been more of a character than he was. Cocky, sweet, clever. Anthony was annoyingly, well, annoying. And JoJo was oblivious. It was fun having Garrett and Lacey in this story - they were in the last Echo Ridge anthology in the story My Fair Lacey.
This story was more serious than the previous ones, which is consistent with the types of stories that Heather Tullis writes. It was a good story with an interesting plot and believable characters. Haley's sweet care of her Gran, and the way she was willing to leave her high-powered job to work at a diner showed the kind of person she was. The drama with her family was well done, and hinted at who might be in the next Echo Ridge story.
I did have a little problem believing that Haley pined after Damon for 15 years after having only known him for 6 months in High School. And that Damon was still enamored with her after that same amount of time, despite having been deeply in love with the woman he had married and had a daughter with right out of college (had to be that timing according to Maggie's age) and who had only died a year prior. I understand that he could have fallen in love with her quickly, but it felt like they had both been waiting for each other all that time. There were also a few inconsistencies in the time sequences, but I think it is just the way my brain works that I noticed them.
While the story was sweet overall, I think it would have been better told just from Kaitlyn's perspective to preserve the mystery of how it would come out. There was also a disturbing scene when Kait and Axel visited a "friend" from his lacrosse team. I would like to unread that part of the story.
Coming Home to Love by Rachelle J. Christensen - 4 1/2 stars
A Perfect Fit by J Rallison is a perfect fit for me! Spunky, artistic Jojo has no idea how her life is about to be turned upside down after losing a bet to her older brother. How tough a payoff can one little blind date be? Pretty dang tough when your brother's date of choice is over-the-top handsome, kind, charming and sexy. Throw in some witty banter and steamy kissing and Jojo is a goner! But how can a girl, with a "boyfriend" of her own fall for a dream come true when he's no doubt being paid to sweep her off her feet? Sometimes you just have to believe...when the perfect fit comes along:)
I love Echo Ridge! Each of these stories are delightful and I have loved being a part of this wonderful anthology. The five stories here all have something to do with a second chance at love and it was fun to read about different characters who were introduced in previous anthologies. If you like sweet, clean, contemporary romance and would love to devour a story in one sitting, then sit down, and get started. Each novella probably takes about 45 minutes to read and you can read this series in any order.
Another great collection of novellas based in Echo Ridge, New York. A Brand New Second Chance is about Abigail Martin who followed her boyfriend Jace to New York Cory after high school. Abigail and Jace were high school sweethearts and were establishing their careers in New York before settling down and getting married. Abigail discovers Jace cheating on her with her boss and decides to go back to Echo Ridge and reevaluate her life. She discovers things in Echo Ridge that she had been oblivious too because she was blinded by her devotion to Jace. Will Abigail find in her hometown what she has wanted all along? A Perfect Fit is about JoJo Halifax. JoJo is Garrett's younger sister and roommate to Lacey both characters from a previous Echo Ridge novella. Garrett enlist the help of his old roommate and friend Wyatt Nelson to take JoJo out on a date in hopes of breaking up her relationship with Anthony her boyfriend that Garrett does not like. Will JoJo see that Anthony is manipulative and self centered after going out on a date with Wyatt or will she choose to stay with Anthony? Almost Home is a story of starting over. Damon is recovering from losing his wife 15 month earlier and trying to help his preteen daughter who is struggling with the lost of her mother. He moves to Echo Ridge to start over and runs into the girl he left behind when he moved from Echo Ridge at 16. The chemistry between the two is still there. Will Damon and his daughter be able to heal in Echo Ridge and move on? Change of Plans has a little different twist to it. Kaitlyn and Mason were sweethearts introduced in an earlier novella based in Echo Ridge when Mason's mom Emma meets and marries Chayton Mason's lacrosse coach. The two are the town sweethearts. Kaitlyn is struggling with her feelings for Mason turning more into friendship than boyfriend/girlfriend type feelings. She wants to date other people but does not want to hurt Mason's feelings. Axel and Kaitlyn experience immediate attraction to each other that continues to grow as they get to know each other. Will Kaitlyn stay with Mason or will she move on to Axel? Coming Home to Love is a story about what might have been. Laney Richens and Billy Redford were best friends growing up and then high school sweethearts. Laney breaks Billy's heart when she feels stifled by the small town of Echo Ridge and leaves the town and Billy behind. Laney is back in town with a 5 yr old and now divorced. She realizes that was she really wants now is what she could have had if she had not left it all behind. Will she get a second chance? Each novella drew me in and I cheered for the couples to get together. I enjoyed seeing characters from past novellas. It was nice to visit Echo Ridge and the people in it again. I hope there are many more collection to come.
Second Chance Kisses is the fourth installment from the Echo Ridge Romance series. It is a collection of five stories. Which includes: A Brand New Second Chance by Lucy McConnell A Perfect Fit by Janette Rallison Almost Home by Heather Tullis Change of Plans by Cami Checketts Coming Home to Love by Rachelle J. Christensen I enjoyed every one of these stories. My favorite would have to be Rachelle J Christensen's Coming Home. I, also, found some new authors to me and look forward to more by them. 4 1/2 stars. I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
The plots of each of the romance novellas in this collection are based on small-town people getting together to design and build floats for the town's annual homecoming parade. All of these novellas are considered G-rated because they do not contain any foul language, drinking, drugs, or sex, only a few tame kisses. This romance collection is obviously geared toward people who enjoy Hallmark Channel movies.
Unfortunately, several of these stories involve cheating by the female protagonist, who is seriously involved with someone else when she meets and falls for the male romantic interest. The entire romantic conflict in those stories is due to her push-pull between the two men. I don't personally care for unethical romantic triangles such as that, especially from authors who claim they write so-called "clean" romance.
A Brand New Second Chance by Lucy McConnell After her boyfriend cheats on her with her boss, Abigail heads home to Echo Ridge to figure out her future. After having spent nearly her entire life loving the same guy, only to be deceived by him, Abigail figures it's time for her to date around a little but not settle down with anyone. When she ends up working on a float for the Homecoming parade with Carter Montgomery, Abigail can't resist his charms--but she's also not ready to trust her heart again and . Will she miss her chance with Carter? Okay, Carter was dreamy. I think he's my favorite character in this whole anthology. I loved seeing him get his happy ending.
A Perfect Fit by Janette Rallison Wyatt Nelson's best friend Garrett convinces him to go on a date with his sister, JoJo, and tells him to use his charms to win her heart away from her jerky boyfriend, Anthony. Anthony, having lost a bet to Garrett, has to let JoJo go on a date with someone else, and Garrett is determined to make the most of the opportunity. JoJo isn't interested in replacing Anthony, but when he balks at the idea of her going out on a date with someone else and tries to belittle her and even threaten her career if she goes, even though he was the one who made a bet about her int he first place, JoJo starts to realize maybe Anthony's not the one for her after all. After she meets Wyatt, she starts to wonder even more--but she's sure there's no future for her with Wyatt, who is only in town for his summer internship. But Wyatt is determined to show JoJo how he feels about her and that she's a talented artist even if Anthony says differently. Ugh. Anthony is such a jerk. It was so nice to be able to cheer against him and to see Wyatt try to win JoJo over. I loved how he found a way to show JoJo that she's talented and to support her in her art. That was so sweet.
Almost Home by Heather Tullis When Damon moves back to Echo Ridge, where he lived briefly as a teenager, with his daughter, Maggie, he's happy to run into his old crush Haley, who has moved back to Echo Ridge to care for her ailing grandmother. Damon's family moved away before he had a chance to really pursue her in high school, and he's not going to miss out on his chance this time. As they work together on a float for the Homecoming parade, they both feel the attraction is still there, but Haley might not be in Echo Ridge to stay, so will things work out this time, either? I like the idea of a second chance with the one who got away; that's a fun plot line. I didn't get quite as drawn into this story as the others, though; I just didn't connect with the characters as much. Still a good read, just not my favorite.
Change of Plans by Cami Checketts Kaitlyn has been dating Mason for four years, but for the past year or so, things have felt off. Thinking maybe it's just the distance as they attend different colleges, she hasn't ever voiced her concerns to him. But when Axel Olson, the pro lacrosse player she's been trying not to check out all season, comes to town for a lacrosse clinic and makes it clear that he's interested in her, Kaitlyn realizes she has to decide whether to stick with her high school sweetheart or move onto someone new.
This one was a little hard for me to read because I'd liked Kailtyn and Mason together in previous stories, so the thought of them breaking up was sad! The attraction between Kaitlyn and Axel was well-developed and I think the conflict was well-written.
Coming Home to Love by Rachelle Christensen Divorced single woman Laney returns to the hometown she couldn't wait to get away so she can get back on her feet and away from her ex. She runs into Billy, her former best friend--and the boyfriend whose heart she broke when she left--and he makes it pretty clear he'd rather not be around her. However, as they work together on props for the Homecoming dance, Laney is determined to apologize and try to win back Billy's friendship. And while Billy is determined to keep his distance, the more he's around Laney, the more he realizes that he might not be over her at all.
I loved this second chance. I liked seeing how ultimately Billy was able to let go of the hurts of the past and see Laney for who she was now.
This is the third Echo Ridge Anthology set I've read, but you don't have to read them in order to enjoy them. They can each be a stand-alone. The stories all take place in Echo Ridge, a small-ish town in New York, and it's fun to see characters who have made appearances in other stories get their chance at love in these novellas. I thought the idea of working on floats and decorations for Homecoming was a fun idea tying the novellas together--although having lived in NY until I was 18, the idea of school starting mid-August and Homecoming being at the end of August didn't work for me. Granted, in a fictional town they can have their school year and Homecoming whenever they want, but every NY school I've ever heard of starts school after Labor Day and runs through the end of June, so the timing was off for me. That aside, the only other thing that bugged me about the stories was a persistent error in plural possessive (it's Lizards', not Lizard's!). Those two things aside, the stories are fun, the characters are the sort of people you wish you had for friends, and the romances are sweet. This is a fun collection of stories.
I read a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
I thoroughly enjoyed each of these stories. Perfect audiobook... like watching a bunch of cute chick flicks. Sweet, clean, good characters, chemistry and writing.
Catch up with the residents of Echo Ridge in five new sweet romances.
Sassy and bold Abigail Martin returns home after a devastating betrayal by her boss and her long-time boyfriend. As she “checks items off her list of things ‘I Would Have Done Without Jace,’” she consoles herself with a fresh start in her old home. But will Carter Montgomery, woodworker and therapy kisser be more than just her rebound guy. “Sometimes I’m afraid I’m still that little girl. That I won’t recognize substance and I’ll fall for a plastic wrapper and a crème filling again.”
In a desperate gamble to protect his little sister from her conceited, manipulative boyfriend Anthony, Garrett Halifax sets up his beautiful, artist sister Jojo on a blind date. This date “ended one relationship but started another.” Harvard graduate Wyatt Nelson is the “perfect antidote for a breakup.” Fun, flirty dates lead to love with a touch of the “Wyatt technique.”
Damon Anderson has fled a devastating loss with his troubled daughter Maggie in tow. “Every day he wished his wife was back here to help him navigate the struggles that he and Maggie were dealing with.” Running into Haley Richie, “the girl who got away” was not in his plans. Haley quit her advertising job to help her ailing grandmother. Dementia and the struggles of caring for an elderly relative play a large part of this bittersweet story. “A woman was entitled to feel confusion when her life was changing and she was struggling to find her footing?”
Kaitlyn Johanson finds herself “falling out of love with her boyfriend” Mason Turner. “She felt friendship, kindness, and strength but not passion.” There’s more to professional athlete Axel Olson than his muscular body and his skills on a lacrosse field. This successful, confident, man is ready for what money and fame can’t buy. “How do you break a heart without betraying your own?” This story does contain a disturbing scene that made me uncomfortable. I can’t wait to read Mason’s love story; he is due a love of his own.
“Every person in Echo Ridge had played a part in raising Lainey Richins” but coming home was not in her plans. With her young son Oliver, Lainey finds herself regretting her hasty escape so many years ago. She walked away from Echo Ridge and Billy Redford with no plans of every returning. Now eight years later, “she couldn’t take back what she’d abandoned but maybe she could right the wrongs she’d committed.” Billy lost his heart when Lainey left town so many years ago and he still struggled to reconcile the past heartbreak. “Time had not softened that blow.” I really loved stalwart, faithful and true, Billy.
Each story contains the Echo Ridge characters you know and love and include a fun recipe. “When you get something you’ve wished for your whole life, it’s overwhelming.” *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are uniquely my own.
This is another great collection of novellas set in Echo Ridge, New York. Each story is individual but has reoccurring characters from past and current stories. As the anthology is titled "Second Chance Kisses" many of the stories revolve around the one that got away. Abigail Martin only has eyes for Jace and follows him and his big career to New York City after high school. They both plan to establish their careers before marrying and settling down. Abigail enjoys the perks of her boss by using her restaurant reservation until she finds out that Jace likes the perks too. As a woman scorned Abigail returns to Echo Ridge and reevaluates on the things and people she overlooked and took for granted there.
In "A Perfect Fit" Garrett enlists the help of his law school roommate, Wyatt in breaking up his sister JoJo and her undeserving boyfriend (according to Garrett) Anthony. Garrett and Lacey, the roommate were featured in a previous story. Will JoJo release her heart to Wyatt or continue to be manipulated by her self centered boyfriend, not very objective of me, huh? i Damon only lived in Echo Ridge when he was 16 but in order to help his preteen daughter deal with the loss of her mother he relocates his business there in "Almost Home". The girl he had planned to take to prom is still and she still remembers being stood up for the dance. Damon still remembers the feelings he had for the one he left behind.
All of Echo Ridge knows Kaitlyn and Mason belong together. They have been sweethearts since Mason's mom, Emma married Mason's lacrosse coach, Chayton. "Change of Plans" involves Kaitlyn being pursued by Axel and realizing she doesn't share sparks with Mason anymore. Not wanting to hurt Mason or his family has Kaitlyn struggling to make sense of her feelings. In "Coming Home" Laney Richens returns to Echo Ridge, divorced with her 5 yr. old son, Oliver in tow. Billy Redford, her high school sweetheart, was left behind when Laney left to avoid the small town. Collateral damage was Billy's heart. Old feelings are reignited but Billy doesn't want to be burned again because his roots are buried deep in Echo Ridge. This is very much a knight in shining armor kind of story. Each novella was like revisiting family and festivals and shops that I already knew were on main street.
A Brand New Second Chance by Lucy McConnell Loved Carter and Abigail's story. Carter knew for so long what he wanted he was wasn't brave enough to go for it. Abigail as only know one life and now she just needs to start things over. This was a great start to the set of second chance love. Cant wait to see what is next!
A Perfect Fit by Janette Rallison This was such a fun story! I loved the banter between JoJo and Wyatt. This Author always has a lot of fun humor in her books. I also like how the characters from the other stories make some appearances in this one. It makes reading about the town even more fun.
Almost Home by Heather Tullis I really liked this one! I love getting a better look into more people in town and I like it when the other stories intertwine. I loved Damon and Haley’s story. They met in High School but never got the chance at a relationship. This second chance romance story is so much fun!
Change of Plans by Cami Checketts Cami is my favorite I love all her books! Kaitlyn and Mason are characters we have seen and fallen in love with over the course of these books. Although I loved their story in the past everyone deserves to find their happily ever after and I really loved getting to know Kaitlyn a lot better in this story. I think it’s my favorite so far! Love this series and the town!
Coming Home to Love by Rachelle J. Christensen Laney and Billy had such a great story. They started out as childhood friends and then High School sweethearts. After parting and then reuniting years later they aren’t too excited about rekindling any type of relationship. It was a fun read and a great finish to the second chance kisses series. I really liked it! I found myself connecting with the characters and routing for a happily ever after!
-'There weren’t enough curse words in all the languages in all the world to describe what a low-down, self-absorbed jerk Jace proved himself to be.'- Ouch! 20 years as friends and 10 years in a relationship and he cheats on her with her boss??! Scoundrel! Great story. Loved it. Fantastic. Great humour. Very flirty.
Almost Home -Heather Tullis

Change of Plans- Cami Checketts
A sports romance - a famous lacrosse player falls for a beautiful small-town girl. She already has a boyfriend. Which man will she choose?
A Perfect Fit -Janette Rallison
Betting doesn't always end well... Excellent story. Absolutely loved it. Funny, steamy, clean, great storyline, basically perfect. 👌
Coming Home to Love - Rachelle Christensen
-'Billy groaned and rubbed a hand over his face. Memories of his past were battling with the present and trying to derail the future that he’d carefully planned. He would not let Laney mess with his head or his heart again.'- She had big plans. She wasn't going to live in Echo Ridge. She moved away, leaving him behind. Now she was back. Divorced and with a son. Was it too late for them? Or would the old feelings be enough for a second chance?
I found each of the stories interesting to read since I enjoy keeping tabs with the characters of Echo Ridge. However, I definitely enjoyed some of the stories more than others.
A Brand New Second Chance started the collection with the return of Abigail Martin. It's engaging and fun. I loved Carter. My primary complaint is that the story was only told from Abigail's perspective. I would have loved to known Carter's thoughts.
A Perfect Fit was my absolute favorite of the bunch. It's funny, yet brings out the risks of a controlling boyfriend. I absolutely loved Wyatt. And the ending is as good as it gets.
Almost Home ended up being my least favorite. I struggled to find it realistic.
Change of Plans was an improvement. However, I did struggle some with the age gap between Kaitlyn and Axel. Otherwise, it's a great story and I liked how Kaitlyn was honest about her feelings with Mason. I hope he gets his story soon. He's such a wonderful guy. I do need point out that there is a scene that may be disturbing to some readers. It just shows how careful we all need to be with our friends!
Coming Home was a great choice to finish up the collection. Laney seemed to have her act together and had realized the error of her past. I appreciated how she owned up to it. I also liked how the town supported them and helped Billy with his struggle for forgiveness. All in all, a solid story.
Each of the stories are PG clean with kissing. My rating for the collection - 4 stars.
Like with any anthology, I liked some of the stories and wasn't interested in others. My favorite was "A Perfect Fit" by Janette Rallison, partly because I love her writing and am predisposed to like her stories, partly because it was so funny (as usual), and partly because the characters were all so great, both the characters from the last Echo Ridge anthology as well as Jojo and Wyatt. Especially Wyatt. And the epilogue? I had tears in my eyes, I was laughing so hard. I liked most of the other stories overall, but some didn't feel as polished, and there was a timing thing that really drove me crazy. I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't just read Silver Screen Kisses, but I did, and I just couldn't get over it. All of the stories but one take place within a couple months of the previous anthology; in "My Best Man's Wedding" in the previous anthology, the side character of Kaitlyn was a senior in high school. In Kaitlyn's own story, "Change of Plans," she just finished her second year of college, and yet the other details in the story matched up with the rest of the anthology's time period, which would have her in the summer before her first year of college. It's something small and unimportant, but it drove me absolutely crazy and consequently spoiled that story for me because the inconsistency took up all my attention, rather than the plot or the characters.
This is the first anthology from this series & collection of authors I’ve considered returning. The first 3 stories (A Brand New Second Chance, A Perfect Fit, Almost Home) are great. The fifth story (Coming Home to Love) is good/ok. The fourth story (Change of Plans) is a total disappointment in tone, storyline & resolution. What in the world was this author trying to do? She leaves one of the best characters (found in two of the 4 Echo Ridge anthologies) hanging with no resolution in sight. I personally HATE stories about love triangles, especially when one H is good, one H is ok, and the h is selfish. The fourth story should not have been included, in my opinion.
All five books in this anthology are very good. I love small towns and the closeness of the people. These sweet romance novels show the good and bad of small communities. The second chances that the characters get in this small community of Echo Ridge are so fun to read about. The characters are all well-developed in each story and I love the way all the stories and people connect to each other. The cover of the book is great to grab the reader's attention and the title fits the stories perfectly. I highly recommend these stories to readers who love good romance and second chances.
I love going back to Echo Ridge and watching new characters fall in love. It's so much fun!
All the stories are well told. Some move fast, others have a sprinted ending. Others melt slowly and satisfyingly like chocolate. All are good, though my favorite might be A Perfect Fit, but its really hard to choose.
I love the Homecoming theme. I hope we have more romances to come. Mason needs a love story!
Clean, sweeping you off your feet, inspiring; these women have done it again.
Second Chance Kisses: An Echo Ridge Anthology is the fourth set in the Echo Ridge Romance anthology series. This is a wonderful set of books by a talented group of authors. They were all about second chances and all were sweet, clean romances and were the perfect length for a quick read. I enjoyed this set, and I highly recommend it!
This is a very cute anthology. Of the five short stories in the anthology, Perfect Fit was my favorite short story. The stories are clean and quick reads. While I didn't love all of the short stories equally (I'm sorry, but I really didn't like the short story, Almost Home), the majority of them were great.
A wonderful anthology of five second chance love stories. Each book is a standalone but some characters show up in one or more stories. All stories take place in Echo Ridge, a small town in upstate New York and are by different authors. A few require kleenex. A variety of characters and a great collection. I received an arc copy of this anthology and voluntarily chose to review this set.
I am a fan of the anthologies from these authors. It is always nice to visit this town. And who doesn't like second chances? All of the stories we're good. The first two seemed A bit more light hearted and fun. But maybe it was my frame of mind. Because I did really like all of them.
