As a billionaire and single father, Kooch Kirkpatrick has provided everything that money can buy for his daughter. They are content with their world but they are still missing something, or rather someone, in their lives.
When Adrienne is offered a position at Kirkpatrick's mansion as an archeologist cataloguing his private collection from around the world, she doesn't think twice before accepting. After settling into her new home with her golden retriever, Ginger, she soon forms an undeniable attraction with Kirkpatrick.
One day Adrienne accidentally stumbles upon Kirkpatrick's daughter, Louisa, and the secret she hides. Ginger brings Louisa and Adrienne closer together in the following days. As they get to know one another, Adrienne, brings a light to Louisa's life that she was formerly missing- and her father begins to notice the change.
When Kirkpatrick learns that Adrienne has discovered their secret, will he trust her? Or will Adrienne's curiosity ruin the relationship they have formed in the few short days they have known each other?

"The One" was an enjoyable short read included in the Billionaires Ever After collection. Overall I liked the theme of the story and the personalities of the characters; however, at times I felt the wording was a little "cheesy" and the author could have selected stronger words and phrases. If you like a short love story, I would recommend this collection.

After her cheating ex was videod, in compromising situation, and having it posted to the internet, Adrienne was pleased to escape the scrutiny of her neighbors and work colleagues. A job, on an island cataloguing artifacts for a Billionaire, was just what she needed.
However, the Billionaire had other ideas for her, after seeing her picture, and finding her even more appealing, in person.
Off course, there's far more to this romantic tale, but you are best to read it as the author has written it.
