So excited to get something new by Natasha Thomas....was super stoked and I gotta say wasn't disappointed at all! SHE'S BACK!! This is the first book in the Dark Knights Series. You don't have to read her other series to read this but myself I highly suggest you do. All of Natasha's books intertwine in some way and I LOVE IT!! For instance you will meet little Violet whom is Locke's daughter and her novella will be next but written in Natasha's "Forever After" Series. See they all intertwine and it's brilliant. Her "Forever After" Series are all the children of the Devil's Spawn MC and her Vengeance MC Series so see get to reading you'll love them, I know I sure do. Can be read as standalone's but why would you do that when you can experience them all!
Ok onto the review for this book "Tainted" whom you meet Scarlet and Locke. They have been in love with each other for like seems forever but Scarlet has a huge secret and doesn't feel like she's good enough, even though what Locke does on the sidelines should be considered way worst then any secret Scarlet could have. Locke has a little girl named Violet and Scarlet and Locke take really good care of this little girl like she's Scarlet's own since Violet's own mother hasn't had anything to do with her since she was born. Scarlet doesn't want to ruin the relationship with Violet getting tangled up with Locke in a relationship. The secrets of past really screw with Scarlet's mind and feelings. She feels less than a woman and I really connected with this character because I to feel the same way, the circumstances may be different of the how and why but they are still so engrossed in my mind that's how feel. And after you read the story you will know why it's a hard thing to deal with and you feel "less then" a woman! Not going to give everything away but I loved this story.
Natasha's books offer, real life circumstances, laugh out loud moments, hot freaking sex, alpha males that you want for yourself "sigh", and females that crack you up! The banter between the females in this one is hilarious and the Christmas shopping at the mall 3 days before Christmas is freaking hilarious you'll be crying from laughing so hard. That's what I love about her books she has some serious moments and then bam your laughing. That's a good writer in my opinion so check this book out, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. If your looking for sunshine and daisies in a read this isn't for you. If you want a book that deals with real life circumstances and yes some raw parts then you WANT to read this book! So excited for Talon and Violet's book can't wait. Thanks for keeping this avid reader highly entertained and keep it up!

I feel like these related books, all have the potential to be so good and angsty, then they just miss the mark. The build up is there but then, the part where it gets worked through is missing. Like the whole middle part. Plus, I have a hard time believing some of the plot points that lead to conflict. Then the conflict is never discussed. Like when Scarlet and Locke first get together and sleep together. It is without a condom. Guess who gets mad about that? The one who doesn't put the condom on himself. He is mad, and doesn't want her to get pregnant. She isn't upset that she just had sex with a male prostitute without a condom? What? Then, when she won't tell him something, he tells her, after saying he is in love with her and has been for years and is going to quit selling himself for money, that what just happened was a mistake adn they should just forget all about it and not be around each other. He will still allow her to watch his daughter though. Isn't that sweet. He just told her she was a mistake, because she wasn't ready to share something with him, that what they did was a mistake, they should forget it and avoid each other as much as possible but she can still watch his kid while he is prostituting himself. And he does continue to see clients. And they never discuss it when they get back together? Say what? Not believable. Also there are a lot of wonky timeline issues.

My introduction to this author and I’m impressed! I was engaged with the cover, storyline and the characters! It’s not always pretty, they are openly honest with each other, no holes barred, what you see is what you get but it’s also heartwarming. I laughed, cried and got angry with them. The alpha men protect what’s theirs and the women are strong and independent. I’m hooked and can’t wait to read the next instalment of Dark Knights.
Locke’s a single father, working two jobs trying to make a better life for his daughter Violet. Luckily he has a great support group who willingly drop everything to help him look after her. Scarlet has been by his side babysitting Violet since she was born. They are not together, not only do their jobs keep them apart a lot of water has flown under the bridge. Do they want each other? Absolutely, unfortunately they are their own worst enemies and have some murky waters to wade.
“This isn’t over, baby. Take your time, lick your wounds, but just know, I’m coming for you. And when I do, I’m chaining your sweet ass to my bed until we’re done hashing this shit out.

Book linked to Devil Spawn series and Vengeance series either. Similiar issues to Devils Spawn and Vengeance series they have a few spelling errors, Letters missing from words eg hem instead of them, he instead of her etc, and other misc errors such as timeline not matching or description of events not matching in other books yes I am aware that people view the same situation differently but that is not valid with these books.
Apart from these issues I enjoyed the book somewhat. Not my favourite of this author. Was a struggle for me to get through, as I did not like Scarlett, Why I didn't like her, I don't know.
Recommend, as it is a part of the above series and characters we have previously read about.

A great story
I loved Locke and Violet in the Vengeance MC series, and I am glad that they got their own story. It's certainly wild, crazy, hilarious, and I wouldn't expect anything else.
I know that this book was released a few years ago, but I would like to see the rest of the brothers get their own books as well.
There were definitely some editing issues in this book beyond just simple misspelled words. There's a lot of misplaced &/or missing words, and the excessive punctuation marks in the wrong place really got annoying. Overall with the exception of the editing issues, it was a fantastic story.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and author.

Loved this book! Natasha Thomas can write such a Awesome story that will stay with you always. I laughed I cried then I laughed my ass off some more. Locke and Scarlet are most definitely my absolute favorite characters of all time.

Loved it! Absolutely love the new series from Natasha. I've read most of all her books. I'm absolutely loved this although it had nothing to do with MC except a little mention here and there!!! Grab your copy today!!!!

Loved the book!!!!
Great book worth the wait. Can't wait for Natasha's next book. Hope she does Nate and Ebonee's story soon. Overall on of my favorite authors.

It was a great read! It has great well developed characters and a story line that will grab and hold your interest. Love all this authors books. Well worth the read. Rated very good
