This was a Goodreads giveaway win! I finished reading it because it only had a 104 pages, but this wasn't really my cup of tea. I did give it two stars for the fact that it did have some funny parts. I didn't care for the main character Joel, who was a nervous, whiny wimp in my opinion. And his wife was a weird control freak. Though we really didn't get to know her too much. Just in the one crazy sex scene and from the ramblings of her husband. I didn't care for the sex that was in the book...a little too graphic for me. But I did find the part of him accidentally posting a pic of a penis to his facebook account pretty amusing!! And that's where the book ended. I believe there's like 3-4 more books, (novellas?) in the series. You have to read the next one to find out the fallout of him posting this picture. Which sorry, I won't be reading! Thank you for the opportunity to read this book!
I received this book as part of a giveaway. I enjoyed the book as the author kept me curious on how the title played in throughout the entire book. I found the story to be well written with a good back story and detail of the characters mentioned. I found the book to be extremely humorous and a bit sexual. However given the title of the book, that should be an expectation. I would encourage curious readers to give the book a try, I highly recommend it.
I this book for free from the author/publisher in response for an honest review of the book. I have not had the opportunity to read this book at this time. I will add my review of this book once I have read the book. Thank k you for allowing me the optometrist review your work. I look forward to reading this book.
Like most stay at home parents, Joel is struggling to find himself again once his son heads off to school. Joel’s career as a blogger is kinda cool, lots of freebies with the potential of becoming famous or have “superstar” status. Living in denial about son’s possible autism, having to deal with his suicidal dad, and now his sexless marriage – Joel’s life is upside down. That is until his father discovers the internet … OMG … and Joel takes the responsibility for being his wife’s dick assistant. Just imagine how this one is going to play out!!!!!
Short, but full of laughs … we see ourselves and our family/friends in each of the characters that C.A. Greagen carefully creates. Greagen is vivid in his descriptions and creates wonderful, realistic characters that you can love, hate or just admire because they are sooooo real! The constant checking of his “social media status” OMG – so true!
I practically read the book to my husband one night, it was not only hilarious but so … us!
The book is short and entertaining. It is about a stay at home dad who is a blogger and a bit of an online superstar. It has plenty of humor. Joel being so much into social media and how many likes he has was pretty fun. I also liked his dad, also a pretty amusing guy whose life becomes better thanks to the internet.
The sex chapter was a bit too long even though nothing in this book really can be long. I am no prude it was just not as funny as the rest of the book. It is a bit of an important part of the book but it was a bit boring.
The best part was how the book ended. Now that was hilarious and a smart cliffhanger because I definitely will read the second book. I feel it may be even better if it starts where this book ends.
