The Advent Calendar

Rate this book
Abigail, Jack and Ethan grew up blissfully unaware of the wonders of Christmas, unlike their parents who had tried to come to terms with the loss of this festive season. On a desperately cold winters night over thirty years ago, Father Christmas mysteriously disappeared, leaving the residents of Willow Cove and the wider world without their magical winter holiday. A typically reckless sledging crash leads Jack and Ethan to the discovery of an enchanting book which has lain hidden for years. With the help of their elder sister they manage to break the secret code and through the magical text in the book, the children undertake a remarkable quest North. There is magic at work along the way as the children face a race against time to restore pleasure and joy to millions of children across the world.

I'm a secondary school teacher from Shropshire. A big kid at heart with a love of family and Christmas. This is my first of what is hopefully many books, enjoyed the process so so much and hope you will all enjoy reading the Advent Calendar. It's the kind of book I would have loved as a child and will hopefully provide many children and adults with hours of entertainment. Would love to see this on the big screen some day!!

Imagine the fate of Christmas in your hands! Jeremy Davies has created a magnificent adventure of three siblings and their dog, Max, who found a mysterious book in a deserted cave. They had no idea of the importance of this book to the world. Should they follow the instructions as the book demands? The power of the book was too great and for six days they were plunged into another world. And so, the mystical journey begins to places that set plans in motion that reveal how to reunite a legend and his mission. Along the way the children met many friends who protected them and showed the way to Santa’s Village where incredible turn of events occurs to ensure that the children of the world would enjoy Christmas again. Even though this book has some formatting, page headings/breaks, dialogue and illustrations issues, they did not take away from this exciting adventure.
