I liked the premise of this book. The heroine has six months or less to live. She needs a kidney and one is found for her in Cuba only the life of her potential donor is snuffed out before the transplant takes place. Now more than ever she has no other options and nothing to lose. Will she give up or fight? This is a very short story and ends at 39 percent.

Included:

Bonus story: Forbidden Target
My Review: I skimmed. Story/dialogue was strange. Ends at 71 percent.
Three Bonus Chapters of Extraction ends at 82 percent

This is a short story!

That being said, it was a fun and perky read. I liked the interaction between the main characters and I will always enjoy a good romance read. That being said, the plot felt rushed. Granted, it is a short story, but then ending wrapped up too neatly. There was no source of distress, the rivalry between Diego and his uncle was too neatly patched up. I mean, he shot him in his leg for crying out loud! Since the uncle was played up to be this muy malo figure that was willing to take on jobs that even the Salazar brothers wouldn’t, such as murdering children, I found it very hard to believe he forgive his nephew after a punch to the face and beer.

It was a fun read and I did like the chemistry between both characters and the relationship with his brothers. Curtis and Catalina I can guess what’s happening there. I believe the next story is going to be about Sebastian and ShaRon.

The second story in this book, Designated Target is about Troy and Savanna. Another short story about an assassin who falls in love with a woman who has been dubbed the town’s crazy lady. It was another cheesy romance story with a very predictable movie plot line and I saw who was the big bad before I even had clues. It was too obvious.

It had a few redeeming qualities. The sex scenes were very steamy and had me fanning my face due to the intensity. However, there was this scene where he asked his brother to watch them have sex and I was turned off by it completely. I mean, who wants their lover’s brother LITERALLY having a front row seat to such an intimate act? And getting off at it too, no less.

Minor issues aside, I enjoyed both stories and liked how the Books seemed to be in the same universe as Troy mentioned the brothers and their assassin league before his show down. Good read!

She was his alma...

...his soul. Upon meeting Destini during a hit job, Diego Salazar could not help but want to take care of and protect Destini no matter how long she had left to live. He wanted her to live her life to the fullest while she was alive. Destini thought life was not fair for Diego to fall in love with her. She wanted him to find a woman who could love him and give a long life time full of happiness and children. Diego would hunt down heaven and earth to find the cure she needed so they be the ones to live that long life together.I

This was a very intriguing and interesting storyline about a young woman dealing with the finality of her imminent death and the dangerous man who loved her enough to fight for her so they could have that long happy and loving life together.

Wow!

Destini and Diego's story was crazy. Destini was living on borrowed time after she saw her one chance of kidney murdered right in front of her. Diego was so intense. He claimed Destini as his right away. I would have liked the story to develop a little more, but overall I really enjoyed reading this one. Can't wait to read the next book in this series .

Loved Diego and Destini’s story, but by the end I wanted to know so much more about them, so much more to explore and could have been a full length book. I hope the other books are coming because this book has me intrigued by the Salazar family

This is a quick read that held my attention. I usually avoid books with gang/mafia type issues. I didn't read the summary of this book so was a little surprised by the family business. But, I wanted this story to be longer! I enjoyed the writing and felt bad for Destinee's predicament. I definitey want to know more!
