Amy DeMeritt is an author of Sapphic romance and an occasional poet. She is a lover of the arts, coffee and tea, a day of sitting on the beach watching the waves crashing against the shore, and good books and music to get lost in. (A good thunderstorm is one of her favorite forms of music.)

Amy takes inspiration from every experience in life and gives her imagination full reign to take a small detail and expand it into an intricate tale. Weaving experience, interests, and even pushing the boundaries of personal comfort, Amy’s stories take a reader on a journey of varying emotions and the joys and trials of love, romance, and growing as an individual, all of which are embodied in an entertaining plot with complex characters.

Crap. I hit page next and my kindle popped up with how many stars do you rate this.

There are a lot of books out there. Some, you loose *huge* chunks of time over. And there are those where you find yourself grinding through and thinking I'll just get through it.

This series is the former. I absolutely love this.

At the rate she's cranking these out it looks like it won't be too much before book 4 is out. I can't wait.

Five, Six, Seven?

Another riveting read into Kayla’s world.

Just one qualm: why don’t they use Group Chat when texting?

I look forward to Book Four, but with Group Chats. 😉

Captivating and non-stop action.

This novel is the third in a series featuring a polygamous group of women. Kayla fronts the group and embodies her totem spirit of the dancing wolf. Her family includes Sam, Madison, Shannon and her wife Awenasa. The first part of book 3 takes place on Cherokee lands as Kayla reunites with her parents, siblings, friends and Awenasa. The rest of her own family comes along for the visit. After major heroics and everyday happiness, the whole Dancing Wolf family heads back home. Dance takes over in the second part of the book. Kayla and family commit to building a business based on her dance talents. The opportunities arrive in rapid succession. Kayla teaches, competes and prepares for two music videos. The final part of the book focuses on the dance team's month long adventures in California. They create dances and perform for a demanding music performer. A major cliffhanger guarantees another book in the series.

It is nice to see how Kayla's wife adapts to evolving relationship dynamics. Awenasa is both a tribal priestess and a natural healer. She brings loving and supportive energy into the mix. Shannon and Madison have similar qualities, but they express them differently. Sam acts as a bit of a wild card and pushes her own needs with aggression. Kayla becomes the hub and center of the family as everything spins around her. She never asks anything for herself, but is ready to do anything necessary so that things get done. She wants the best for everybody and fights tooth and nail to make it happen. These characters, and a dizzying array of others, make this novel fascinating. The situations that come up just provide these interesting characters with a chance to shine.

High energy dance and pulse pounding love move Building the Life along at a frantic pace. The next installment will have to address the cliffhanger ending, possible relationship complications and a crossroads in Kayla's life choices. Three of these five women are still in college. Shannon works and supports this merry band. Kayla, with tons of help, is forging an exciting career in dance. They all want to be together and bring children into their growing family. It's hard to see any end in sight for this epic dramatic saga.

Riveting!

In this this third installment of the Dancing Wolf series, a well written tale with well developed characters and an engrossing storyline, the family that these women have formed is stressed by a forced separation as Kayla is thrust into as her passion for dancing begins to pay off in unexpected ways. She finds herself offered the opportunity of a lifetime. But is this what she truly desired? And how will the family react to her unparalleled success? I'm biting my nails as i await the next installment in this fascinating and compelling series.
