Captain Jay Roberts knows his mission to infiltrate the isolated province of Neveks is dangerous, but the future of Planet Pavlovan depends on his success.
As a telepathic super-soldier, he doesn’t expect the banished Neveks female, Rain Datta - his passport into Neveks - to cause him too much trouble.
But Rain’s not playing by his rules, and Jay is in for one hell of a life-changing ride.

I really enjoy Kate Pearce's contemporary romances so when I saw this one I was eager to give it to try. However, I think it would have been much better had I not started with book 6 in the series. While Kate Pearce does a great job in creating an alternate world, I would have preferred to know what happened in previous books. I'm sure it would have improved my reading experience because it was a good story. I simply was not familiar with just what was entailed with the bonding of the Triad and so I think I missed out on some aspects of the plot. However, I will be going back and starting with the remainder of the series to see what I missed.
I adore Kate's triad series...it's full of hot space aliens and my favorite fantasy~menage.
This one wraps up a mysterious story thread about who's stirring up the political pot and potential civil war. Captain Jay Roberts, enhanced human "super soldier" is working for the Pavlovan government since he left Earth being feared there because of his enhancements. His orders are to infiltrate the Nevek region that has VERY closed borders. He goes undercover and "rescues" Rain Datta when she's "stranded" with no transportation to get back home to Nevek to see her dying mother. Rain was cast out of Neveks at 18 with nothing, and told she was "impure" and therefore could no longer live within the region's borders. She became a soldier herself in order to survive and a strong woman on her own.
I really liked Rain as well as Jay. They both had to figure out how to survive when rejected by their people. Little did either one of them realize they were fated to become part of a triad that would change their worlds as they knew them. Kate weaves their story through trials and temptations that help them grow to see they could be more together rather than just rely on themselves. And poor crown prince Asar realize how much he was going to have to question and dig into his Mother's ruling decisions as he's holding down the "fort" while the all powerful Queen, his mother, is away. Poor Asar has to make life altering decisions about his mother, her actions and aspirations and where his loyalty lies, with her or his people and those he's come to love. Kate has the ability to pack the short story words with a complete story that leaves you satisfied that you haven't missed anything.
Thank you Kate for granting me this ARC free for an honest review. Loved it! I hope you get back to more of these types of stories.
Really sad this is the last book of the series, I have enjoyed the world that Kate Pearce has made for us. This is probably one of my favorite books in series as well because we get introduced to the Neveks on planet Pavlovian. Rain from the Nevek tribe, is an officer in the Pavilion military, and she is also generally despised for being a Nevek. The Nevek telepathic powers are different, and they are a closed off tribe that has a bad history. Captain Jay Roberts is one of the human telepaths from earth from the story line in book 2. He has been sent on a mission to infiltrate the Nevek tribe, ask the Queen questions and figure out if she is the traitor. When Rain goes into a mating bond, she transforms into a whole different type of creature, needing blood & $ex, and only her mate can survive because she is so strong in that form. I really loved the concept of that, she is very much all in control in the bedroom and it was a refreshing read. Asar thier third and Rains mate from her tribe, he has been hopelessly in love with her from the start. I liked reading about the alpha male who is so in love with his lady, also is reaction to her transformation when they had to complete the bond between the three was awesome! I wish this was not the end and I could read about more strong female characters like Rain. Per Kates normal, this book was full of spice, with a in command FMC. Some of my favorite parts:
“ by full $ex, you mean when you morph and try to fuc& us to death”
“I own you” “ yea you do”
Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Jay is on a secret mission to Nevek to talk to the Queen Goddess. He is one of the enhanced human soldiers that was saved from death and bright to Pavolan. Rain is heading back to Nevek, after she was banished when she was eighteen, because her mother is dieing. Jay " accidentally" saves her from a crash at the bus station. He then travels with her for around a week on foot to reach Meek. The night before reaching their destination, they bond. When they each individually reach the boundaries of Nevek, they are captured. Rain gets to see her mother, while Jay is imprisoned. Jay meets Azar who is the Queen's son and also someone who Rain bonded with when she was sixteen. There is trouble brewing with the Queen and within the Triad that is starting to form. Jay's AI is very helpful through out this story. I love this Triad series, my only problem is that there aren't more of them. One a year just isn't enough for me!!!
'Triad' by Kate Pearce is Book Six in "The Triad" Series. This is the story of Captain Jay Roberts and Rain Datta. I haven't yet read the previous books in this series, so for me this was a standalone book. This was a pretty exciting romance between Rain and Jay. Jay was trying to get close to Rain on orders of his supervisor to understand what Rain was up too. But Jay was finding it hard to stay neutral with Rain. Rain felt that Jay wasn't what he was pretending to be but he did start to earn her trust. Enjoyed their story! Triad is Book 6 of The Triad Series by Kate Pearce. While it may certainly help with understanding the back story, these books do not need to be read in order and this one stands fine on its own. In fact, I've only read about half of the books and I followed along just fine.
Kate Pearce is one of those superb well rounded authors who can write about anything and turn it into a hit. Whether it's historical, contemporary, historical paranormal, erotica or in this case, erotic sci-fi. I've loved everything Kate Pearce has written and this story was no exception.
The chemistry between Jay, Rain and eventually Asar was off the charts. Lots of action, drama and smoking hot scenes kept me engaged from start to finish. I look forward to seeing what's in store for these characters next. While the story wrapped up nicely, there were definitely some teasers for future stories.
This book was full of so many unexpected things. There seemed to be something exciting and surprising at ever turn. If sex, sexy, and erotic scenes bother you, then this is not your book.
Triad is full of action and suspense. The characters are well written. The chemistry between Jay, Rain, and Asar is intense. There is also an underlying mystery that resonates throughout the book.
I spent a lot of time using those five "W" terms they teach in elementary school, (who, what, when, where, why). I added how, but prefaced each term with a wait. "Wait,...what?"; "Wait,...... how?", etc.
Triad seems to cover a number of genres. Romance, suspense, mystery, sci-fi, and erotica. This will keep you fully engaged.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy.
Triad is an amazing book. It was a well written, compelling story that grabs the readers attention right from the start. It had so much heat it made me sweat. There was plenty of steam as well. There was love and angst as well. I love the writings of this author and read everything of hers that I can get my hands on. I gave this book five stars and would recommend it to anyone. LOVE MUST READ !! When the writer knows what they are talking about, an honest review is simple. The writing pulls at your heart...makes you want to fight for love, and will make you not want to put the book down!!! I cant get enough of the characters. The emotion that you can feel through each page. Love that makes your heart want to...re-read...over & over. This is an vastly enjoyable read !
Really loved how the book played with gender stereotypes. Jay was by far my favourite character. I loved how he treated Rain with the utmost respect and the second male like how normal alphas treat their female love interest. In most outer space novels, Earth men were portrayed as misogynists or plain douchebags, so it was refreshing to see one like Jay.
"She is yours?" "No, because no one owns anyone. What is wrong with this place?"
"You refuse to defend her honour against me?" "Yo, I think I can let her defend her own honour."
I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. Pearce is an excellent writer and this is another winner. I loved the book. It is very sexual and highly erotic. Jay is on a secret military mission and in the process becomes bonded to Rain and Asar. The book is well written and keeps your attention. This is the first in this series that I have read but I plan on reading some of the previous books. I would highly recommend this book.
WONDERFUL Sci-Fi Erotic Fantasy, Triad is the 6th book in Kate Pearce’s Triad Series. It is a great erotic sci-fi fiction. It is set on a planet inhabited by telepaths who form relationships in threes(triads). This book was more edgy than the previous ones in the series. It also continued the mystery of what is going on with the attacks on the planet and really moved that storyline forward. It is a great series. This book, though part of a series, could be read as a stand-alone book.
This was a fun ride of a story with serious heat spread throughout. I ended up skipping past the M/M scenes as that is not my cup of tea but I know others that love it. Unfortunately Scribd doesn't always show when a book is part of a series so I read the last book first. It looks like each book can be read as a standalone so it didn't affect the enjoyment of the story.
If you like erotica alien romance, this will be a good read/listen for you!
Triad action - check! Strong female who brings 2 males to their knees - check! Finally giving Roberts some spotlight - check! This one was another enjoyable entry in this scifi erotica series - with more political plots in this one and wrapping up several of the threads/clues in earlier books. I will say, it's nice when Ash and Eska hop in for a scene, and this book delivered there as well. Hopefully, now they can both get some rest as the series wraps up. ;)
I love this series! I have been checking for a while to see if a new book had come out and was pleasantly surprised to find one had! The description almost seemed like it wouldn't be a triad book like the name suggested and I was hesitant to read it. Glad I did though as it was just as good as the others in the series!
I loved this fast-paced action packed read. Captain Jay Roberts is a super soldier and is ordered to infiltrate the Nevek region where he saves Rain as they learn to trust each other their triad becomes complete with Asar. The chemistry is hot and the story had me hooked from beginning to end. Looking forward to more in the series!
The book is fine. I like the characters but I didn't really connect with them. They're pleasant but I don't feel passion of any kind. I'm also a bit disturbed by her transformation...which is kind of brushed off. That could have been a neat thing to explore. But I guess that's more world building and Pearce probably just wanted to get to the plot.
These three complimented one another perfectly. The story was action packed, full of trademark Pearce steam and angst. Definitely a wonderful addition to the series! I'm going to go crazy waiting for the next!!
It’s full of action, drama and sexy scenes. It will hook you in with its mystery and angst. The chemistry between the characters is sizzling and steamy. It’s an entertaining read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
I like this series. This triad is an interesting one, and I liked it. These people weren’t obvious together. The machinations of one of the hero’s mother are truly awful. Of course the sexy times are hot and mostly unrealistic. That’s part of the fun of this series.
If you liked this series you will like this too. Adventure, intrigue, psychics, MMF, and explicit sex. A hint of BDSM, but they do not explore it too deeply. You just know the dudes will be into it in their futures. The woman in definitely the boss of this strong trio of soldiers.
I always have enjoyed reading Kate Pearce & this book is just as good as the others. It’s actually hard to find exceptional stories along with exceptional erotic scenes.
Two stars because no one caught the mistake with Ian MacNeill's name. We've met him before where he was called Ian Mac or just Mac, however both author and editor decided to rename him O'Neill in this book. It disappoints me when this kind of mistakes happen. Other than that the world remains fascinating even if the books are too small and underdeveloped.
