This is what happens when life takes a break, love steps in and fate decides for you.
A year ago when tragedy stole her heart and soul, Lilly Crenshaw-Gibson was left weary and alone with a future full of nothing but uncertainty.
Now, she’s back in Savannah, and despite her sister’s constant support and encouragement, she still doesn’t want to feel. She doesn’t want to let go. She doesn’t want to move on when it’s easier to simply exist in a world that keeps spinning around her.
Her plan to live a secluded life is threatened by one powerful glance. The perfect stranger and an unexpected run-in stir emotions Lilly would rather never feel again.
When she’s taunted by what could have been and tempted by what could be will she be able to make the choice between the man who holds her heart and the man who could heal it?
Unexpectedly and tragically Lily Gibson has lost her husband. She’s not handling it well. Easton Tyler is starting over. He and Lily have an instant attraction neither of which are sure how to approach it. The widow trope can sometimes be hard to navigate, but their story is done well. There aren’t any unnecessary dramatic events, just a realistic pacing of getting to know each other, growing into their feelings and the developing relationship. Easton is a dream with patience and understanding he earns Lily’s trust the right way. Lily is smart and caring and mature in her grieving, wants and needs. It’s a beautiful story of life and love.

Um, wow!!! This is a very new to me author and quite honestly she blew me away with this amazing story.
Nicole Richard captivated me from page one and if it hadn't been for real life getting in the way and having to adult, I could've easily sat down and read it in one sitting. It was one of those books where I dreaded having to put it down.
The hero, Easton has definitely found a place in my heart. What an amazing character!!! His patience, and understanding with the woman he loves endeared him to me. Not only was he kind and sensitive, but he also has this possessive and naughty side to him. In my book, that makes him perfect! 😉
The heroine broke my heart a little. I adored her, but at times her grief just about undid me. A chance meeting with the above mentioned perfect male changes all of that. She starts to heal, and before long these two become so much more to each other than either expected.
And I'm a sucker for great epilogues, and this one did not disappoint. It was perfection!
I will undoubtedly be checking out her previous work, and 1-clicking any new releases in the future.
Lilly Crenshaw-Gibson has never been with anyone but her husband, who she fell in love with in High School. She knew that when he enlisted, there was a big chance that she would lose him, and unfortunately she did after a couple of months of marriage. Between Him and Us starts out a year after that tragedy, and Lilly still isn't doing well, even though she moved home again. Her sister is out of her mind worried, and is doing everything to help her, but Lilly just doesn't want to feel anything. However, fate has another plan in store for her, and a glance from a stranger named Easton, slowly brings her black world back into color. He's perfectly willing to give her the time she needs, and finally, Lilly starts to have feelings that she thought she would never feel again. This story was fantastically emotional, and I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough. All of my raw feelings were on my sleeve, as I could physically feel Lilly's feelings come out of my kindle to surround me, and I may or may not have cried for her like she was my best friend. And Easton had the patience of a saint which really endured him to me. Nicole Richard's writing style shone with talent, and I find myself completely addicted. She wrote a realistic story with beauty & grace that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
I swear every book I read by this author just keeps getting better. I loved Lilly and I'm so glad she got her own book. Everyone who reads this will fall in love with Easton. This is a statement you have no choice. Lilly is a complex person who is hurt beyond imagination. Easton knew the minute he laid eyes on Lilly . I loved this book from the beginning and I hated to see it end. I highly recommend this book!!
I received this book as an ARC in return for honest review. Lilly and Tyler are high school sweethearts who married and begun living their dreams. Tyler's dream was to be a pilot and he did that by joining the Air Force. One day she gets news that will change her life. Her family gets her to move home and she meets a young man named Easton. Will she allow herself to be happy? This is a beautifully written story that will pull at your heart strings.
I greatly enjoyed the first three books in Nicole Richard's She's Beautiful series of standalones. So when I heard that Lilly- who had been Addie's best friend in high school- was getting her own happily ever after, I was so excited for this book.
Between Him and Us picked up about a year and a half after Lilly's husband, Tyler, was killed. She moved back home at the persistence of her sister, but is still struggling to acclimate to her new life. Until she meets Easton. He helps her readjust and find love.
Easton- holy patient man! Without giving anything away, Lilly threw something on Easton's plate, and the way he handled it was unlike the way most would have.
Unlike the other books in this series, I struggled to connect with Lilly. She grew on me as the story progressed.
I'm glad that I got to see Lilly happy in the end!
I really enjoyed this book. After reading the other books in this series I could not wait for Lilly’s story. Hers is definitely a heart breaking one but also a beautiful love story about love, loss and second chances.
Lilly and Tyler were high school sweethearts who had their whole life planned out together. They were married and Tyler was living his dream of being a pilot in the Air Force. They were happy and in love until that moment that Lilly dreaded became her worst nightmare. Tyler was killed in action, leaving Lilly completely shattered. It has been 18 months since she lost the love of her life and has deciedd to move back home into her family’s cottage. She knows that she needs to move on at some point in her life, but she is still not ready. Tyler’s parents finally feel like the time is right to give Lilly the letters that her husband had written for her. Reading those letters brings out so much heartache but at the same time leaves her even more confused and conflicted about moving on. It’s when she reads the second letter that she is truly shocked by her husband’s words and is honestly not sure what to do with this news.
In the meantime she meets Easton, a man with eyes that remind her of her deceased husband’s eyes. She is attracted to Easton in a way that she does not expect. A part of her wants to move on and get to know this man but the past, the guilt and the pain of losing her husband is holding her back. But Easton is a very patient man and thank God for that. He wants to know all of her, even if they start out as just friends. He knows she is still grieving but he won’t give up. He knows and feels that there is something between them and he will wait for her. But will Lilly truly ever be able to move on and be with another man. She has been given a second chance at love, will she take it?
Easton was the perfect man. He was so patient and kind where Lilly was concerned. He knew to take things slow and at her pace. While he may not have experienced a loss like she has he understand her reasons for needing to take things slow. He was so patient with her and at the same time had this sexy way about him. The man liked to talk dirty and boy did he. But when he wasn’t being sexy, he had his corny moments that would just make you laugh. He was the total package.
Lilly had my heart. I can’t imagine ever going through what she has been through. My heart broke for her many times. She was trying so hard to move on. She felt something for Easton and really wanted to be with him. But there are moments that just hit her like a ton of bricks, moments where she could not control her sadness or her emotions. And those moments would make her second guess her decisions.
I loved watching Lilly and Easton’s relationship grow. I loved seeing the moments when they both felt what was really gong on between them. Easton kew she was special but it’s the moments they spent together and when he realized his love for her. They just had this special relstionship that I loved. It was filled with love and understanding and passion.
There is a moment in the book where Lilly has a secret that she needs to share with Easton. She knows that when you finally does it can completely push him away. I was waiting for that moment, hoping and praying that it would work out the way that it should. From the moment she told him what she needed to say I swear I was holding my breath, not letting it go until the end. It was from that moment where I really felt the emotions of this book and what was between Lily and Easton. When I got to the epilogue I felt like I could breathe again.
This is a beautifully written story of loss and love. It is about finding love again, and even though you choose to move on, that one person who you loved and loss will always be a part of your life and heart. It is ok to love someone else and find happiness. I loved this story but just had one issue with it. Easton was patient and he never pressured Lilly into anything or never tied to move too fast but at times I felt like it did, especially where the intimacy was concerned. Now my issue is not that she moved on too quickly, because I do not think there is a timeline on grieving and moving on. I just felt like at times they moved a little too quickly when it seemed that Lilly wanted the opposite. This is probably just the way I saw things, and it was just a minor issue. I really loved this story and how well it was written. I loved the emotions that it brought out in me. And the characters just captured me from the beginning. I hope to see more of this series in the future.

4.5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Between Him and Us is the fourth novel in the She’s Beautiful series and can be read as a standalone. It was an angtsy read that really tugged on my heart.
Lilly has known great love, she had it with her husband until she lost him while he was serving in the Air Force. My heart just ached for her. It’s been around a year and a half since she lost Tyler, but her heart still hurts as if it were just yesterday. She doesn’t know how to move on and doesn’t know if she can, even though everyone around her tells her it will help her to heal.
Easton moved home after losing his Grandmother and he is helping at his Aunt’s flower shop. He meets Lilly by chance in the cemetery and again in the flower shop. Each time he feels a pull towards her, and a desire to get to know her better. Lilly is hesitant at first, but slowly she begins opening herself up to the possibility of being friends with Easton, and then maybe something more.
I LOVED Easton. He was an incredibly soft, kind and patient man. He put Lilly’s needs first and was very understanding when she struggled with letting go and moving on, giving them a chance. He listened to her, comforted her, and backed off when she needed some space, while still letting her know he wasn’t going anywhere far. As the reader, his feelings for her were easily felt as they developed, growing deeper as the story progressed. It took her more time, but it was sweet watching as Lilly began to recognize and accept the feelings and emotions that Easton was stirring to life within her.
This is a heart-breaking, realistic and beautiful story. I very much enjoyed every word and I would recommend it to those who love second-chance romances about finding love again after loss.

I'm not one to cry over a book, sure I've teared up occasionally, but it takes a lot for me to get choked up and my stomach in knots. Between Him and Us did just that to me from the very first page till the last. My emotions were on high alert throughout this book. My heart just ached, but it also felt joy and happiness. This story was beautifully written and true to real life events. Nicole did an outstanding job creating the character of a military wife and the risks and heartache associated with that title. I immediately connected with Lilly. I felt every single ounce of her pain through Nicole's words. Underneath the heartache Lilly was a strong, vibrant woman. She loved with her whole being and gave her all to the ones she loved. Easton is a patient man. He wears his heart on his sleeve and would drop everything to be there in time of need. It touch me how respectful and accepting he was of Lilly and her situation. Together they faced unimaginable choices and decisions that could easily put a wedge between most new couples. I loved how Lily's past was incorporated into this book. It put a special spin on Lilly and Easton's relationship and it's outcome!! I've read several amazing books this year. Between Him and Us is by far one of my favorites and in my top 10!!
I am so happy to review this before it has released. This is a new author to me so I am always up to read anything given to me.
There was a small blurb in the beginning it was not necessary but will introduce you to Lilly in Reclaiming Us, and I was glad I read that one first as I could understand her character better in this book.
My heart broke from Lilly as she had suffered a devastating loss of her husband and she was trying to move on but she was not living. That was until Easton walked into her life when she needed it most. She didn't think she could love another after the loss of her HS sweetheart. Easton didn't know the reason Lilly was guarded but he was determined to find out as from the moment he set his eyes on her he knew he needed to make her his. With the patients and understanding of an angel he knew he would wait for her to figure out what she needed and wanted to do to move on. This book kind of reminded me of the movie PS I love you and I love that movie.
There are other stories in this series that I will also go back and read them soon. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
My first ever Nicole Richard book and it couldn't have been sweeter.
'Between Him and Us' was an heartbreaking story about letting go of the one you love, healing and opening up your heart to love again. Lilly and Easton's journey was a crazy messy one with so many feelings and emotions involved. And that made it such a beautiful and lovely story that will just about melt and warm your heart.
Easton was such a great hero, so patient and understanding, with the right side of naughty and kinky that will have your pulse skyrocketing.
And gosh, that epilogue about undid me and what came after the epilogue? Well, that, that really did it! My poor heart couldn't take it.
➳ARC kindly provided by author, in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first Nicole Richard book so I went in without having read the other books in this series. I loved the parts of the story that flashed back to Tyler and Lilly and his letters to her were heart wrenching. I was confused about him being a pilot when he never went to pilot school or even had a college degree, since that is not possible, but not a deal breaker- the book is still very good. There is a difficult to deal with situation in Lilly's life that Easton deals with like a champ, and he has more patience than I ever could muster to help Lilly deal with her past and move on with her future. I downloaded the sample first and once it hooked me and I had to know what happened once that ended, I knew this was going to be a must read. I give it 4 stars and look forward to reading more from Nicole.
I have truly been looking forward to Lilly's story since I finished RJ and Addie's story a awhile back.
Lilly Crenshaw-Gibson suffered a tragic loss in the death of her husband. At only 26 she has been a widow for a year and a half and is finding difficulty moving on. At the start of the book, she has decided to move into the guest cottage on her parents' property, although she has not spoken with them in quite some time. Her husband Tyler was killed in action during his time as an Air Force Pilot and his parents have only recently decided that Lilly should be given the letters he left behind. The second letter contains incredibly shocking news.
Lilly puts the info contained within the letter out of her mind. And by some twist of fate meets a man with the same color eyes as her deceased husband, and who also has the last name Tyler. Hesitant at first about beginning a new relationship with the handsome, kind, Easton, the two quickly find themselves falling. Hard.
But can Lilly be brave enough to share the truth of those letters with Easton. And can Easton get past the shadow of a dead man that haunts the corners of their relationship?
I was so thrilled that Lilly was able to find love again. She truly deserved it and Easton was a perfect choice. Kind, decent, patient and loving. I enjoyed watching their relationship unfold but ran into issues with the coincidences and otherworldly conversations and pieces to the story. I also wasn't crazy about the way the book ended. To give specifics would be to spoil important pieces of the story. But I just had a little difficulty swallowing the way it all played out. Otherwise, I am happy that Lilly and Easton had a happy ever after.
This book you guys. This book gave me every single feel a person could have. I ugly cried, I swooned, I laughed, I cried some more. When I found out Lilly was getting a book, I knew it would be so incredibly hard to read. Nicole Richard did an incredible job in detailing the grief that Lilly felt as well as the emotion of falling in love again. And without a doubt, there was no better man for her than Easton. A man who didn't try to take the place of her deceased husband, but a man who would share her heart with him forever. What a beautifully written story all about heartbreak, grief, finding love and moving forward. A fantastic read!
This story tore me apart and put me back together, what a beautifully written heartfelt story. Lilly has been through more then I can even imagine and came out above it all thanks to Easton which you will undoubtedly be falling head over heels for instantly. This story consumed me and when I wasn’t reading they were still on my mind wanting to get back to their story to see what happens. I highly recommend you grab your copy and fall in love just as I have. This is a MUST READ, ONE CLICK story! This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Awww! This book! My heart still hurts! It's part sadness and part joy! I can't even imagine what Lilly is going through. My heart just broke for her. And Easton is so swoony. He's so patient and good with Lilly. He's perfect for her and just what she needs! I love the characters and the storyline was great and flowed very well. This story is heartbreaking and emotional and sweet and steamy and you feel all the feels! And that epilogue! I'm sure I had the biggest grin on my face! Warmed my heart!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. It was satisfying to watch the characters grow throughout the 4 books. I do have one minor complaint- Tyler enlisted, enlisted men and women are not eligible to be pilots. From him to have been a pilot at some point he would have had to finish his college degree and gone to flight school. Timeline and one mourners opinion that if he'd gone to college he'd still be alive. I apologize for being nitpicky. Overall I absolutely enjoyed this series
I loved getting to know the characters and their stories. This book had my emotions all over the place. Anyone who reads this book will fall in love with both Easton and Lilly. Easton is such a great character with so much heart. Lilly is a strong character who is going through a lot and its heart breaking. I loved everything about this story. I highly recommend this book to all readers.
Lily and Easton! AHHHHH. So so good. Nicole Richard really wrote the grief that Lily's character feels throughout this book to be so palpable. You ache for her. Then you really want her to fall in love Easton just as hard as she loved Tyler. And Easton is just amazing. The right amount of strong and sensitive which is exactly what Lily needs to move on in her life. You will love this story and cheer for Lily and Easton throughout the book!
It had me in tears, both of laughter and heartache, and had my emotions all over the place. I adored Lilly and Easton together. There were moments where I wanted to smack both of them, but their personalities complimented each other so well, and Easton was just what Lilly needed, when she was likely at her lowest. This was an amazing read, that I would definitely recommend!
I received this for an honest. I just loved this book... from beginning to end I just fell in love with Lilly and Easton.. This story was such a great read that I just fell in love with this couple... I just loved everything about this book, it has all the feels... I could barely put this book down to be an adult..
This author is fast becoming a favorite of mine that I get so excited when her books hit my kindle..
An emotional story about heartbreaking loss and trying to find a way to heal. Nicole does an outstanding job making you feel just about every emotion possible in this book. I loved Lilly and Easton's story! It would be impossible not to fall in love with Easton's character. Absolutely a must read. If I could give it more than 5* I would!!!
What an amazing story of heart break, loss and finding happiness when u need it the most. Lily just lost her highschool sweetheart, her husband and bestfriend, we'll trying to overcome such a great loss, he meets Easton an amazing patient handsome stranger. I got lost in this book it's truly an amazing story that must be read.
I loved this one. I have to say it was the best one in the series. So full of emotion heart wrenching moments. I loved the tender moments between Easton and Lilly. Amazing story line amazing characters with amazing chemistry. Nicole blew me away with this one Highly recommend.
Heart wrenching and soul soothing all at the same time. I absolutely adore Nicole’s books and this series. This one in particular made the tears fall. Ty, Lily and Easton- the details in the characters and their feelings-once again I was walking with them. I could feel everything. Such a painful topic and a hard life to walk. Nicole did this with beauty and grace. Beautiful, tearfully beautiful.
Such a beautiful story. I cried a lot but of the happy parts of the book made up for the sad ones. The book let us inside the characters minds and we felt the sorrow and the love they experienced! I highly recommend this book.
