I enjoyed the first book and liked the characters. However in this book Ember became frustrating to me.
Maybe I was expecting too much, but I was left wanting.

Second book in a three-part serialized novel

The four books in this series are basically one, big serialized novel. In this novel, as in the first one, sadly, Amber is a wimp throughout. If you are looking for a kickass, urban fantasy heroine, you won't find that in this protagonist.

Overall, the werewolf world that this author has created is relentlessly bleak and hostile, and the werewolves lack any useful magical abilities except turning into wolves. They do not have instant healing ability or lead extremely long lives or have a wise, compassionate supreme leader like the werewolves in Patricia Briggs's series. In fact, there is very little about them that is appealing. Other than Amber's adoptive parents, Wolfie and Terra, and the outcast humans and werewolves they protect in their pack, virtually every other werewolf in this series is either outright evil or pathetically weak like Amber.

Amber's randomly chosen mate, the human professor Sebastian, is of course shocked to figure out that she has claimed him as her mate, and he has no idea how or why he might claim her back. They barely kiss, and only when Amber attempts to kiss Sebastian. He persistently refuses her sexual overtures, without any discussion that might let us know for sure what his motivation is. Due to the fact that he is at least a decade older than Amber, and she is extremely immature, frequently acting more like 15 rather than 25, it is possible he feels like taking her up on her offers of sex would make him a pervert.

I originally started experiencing this series as audiobooks I obtained through Hoopla. When it became unbearable wading through this series at the extremely slow pace of about 80 words per minute in audio format, I checked out the ebook format of this book and the next two from Hoopla. With an ebook, I can skim through a novel at 10 times the audio speed, which is allowing me to satisfy my curiosity as to where the author is going with her frustrating attempt at viable UF worldbuilding.

Wow oh Wow!!! I can't explain how awesome Aimee Easterling's books are, you really need to read them to see it for yourself. She paints such a vivid picture of her world that you feel like you are living there too. Her characters just become real people that you find yourself, loving, hating and becoming friends with. This book is no different. It picks up where the last ended and I just want to give Ember a hug and protect her. Not that she needs my protection at all. She's one big bad werewolf, but she's also in love with a human. A huge NO NO and the number one rule, but the heart wants what the heart wants and she can't help it at all. She's lost her pack and now her mate. I cannot wait for the next book! This is a definite MUST read for any werewolf fan, or anyone you just loves a good book. I received a advanced copy in return for a honest review, and I loved it. I have read all of her books and will continue to read her books.

Huntress Bound picks up immediately after Huntress Born (Wolf Legacy Book 1), and I suspect that Rogue Huntress will pick up right where this book leaves off, so while you certainly could enjoy this book as a stand-alone, ideally you'll read the trilogy in order.

I really liked the main characters in this book. Ember is a charming yet somewhat naive heroine, and while Sebastien remains a bit of a mystery, I like him too and look forward to continuing to get to know him better. However, it was the introduction of Ember's cousin, Malachi, that really broke my heart. I absolutely adored Malachi, and loved the way his relationship with Ember was developed, as well as watching his interactions with other characters.

This was a relatively quick read that effortlessly captured and held my interest. The pacing was good and the plot was exciting. However, while I really enjoyed this book, it wasn't always an easy read. There's a lot of violence and death in this volume, and while the text is not too graphic, it could be triggering for some readers. I read these books for fun, so I was genuinely disappointed in all of the violence and death, which I don't find fun at all. There was one death toward the end that I found particularly gratuitous and traumatic. That is the sole reason I rated this 4 stars, because otherwise it was a great read.

I volunteered to review an advanced reader copy of this book. The version I read was neatly formatted, had no significant editing problems, and was generally free of typos. If you like urban fantasy or paranormal romance and don't mind violent deaths, give this a try.

This book takes up where the first one left off. Ember winds up on Sebastien’s doorstep, where she looks at the files she found from her brother. It doesn’t take long before the government comes calling, and things escalate from there. Soon, Sebastien is taken and she needs to rescue him, especially since he is her mate and she can’t stand the separation. But, she on the radar of another faction, and soon she is being hunted by them. Will she rescue Sebastien or will she die before she can? I think this book was my favorite of every book I’ve ever read by Ms. Easterling. I can’t exactly put my finger on why, but this was well-written, had lots of action, and I really felt so much for all the characters, exactly as I’ve come to expect from the author’s books. I think Ember is just a wonderful character, and love how she loves cupcakes. I can’t wait to read the next one to see what happens next. Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.

This was so much better than the first book in the series. The addition of the shadowy government agency, a pack of enforcers, and poor Malachi who was caught between duty and family. This contained lots of action, and questions over loyalties.

I adored Malachi, and thought there might be a bit more to the “who will she choose” drama, but the fact was, Malachi was her family and she couldn’t view him as anything other than that. Not to mention she couldn’t see past the mate bond she had with Sebastian. But in the end she saved Sebastian, and that is what she set out to do.

Dakota on the other hand, I thought at first she might be cool and lend a helping hand and become a friend. But nope, she’s a complete bitch! I wanted to reach into the book and strangle her a few times! But we’ll see where that story leads.

I had hoped to find out what happened within the Greenbrier pack after the last book, so was a bit disappointed not to know what changes had occurred. But, it’s not the end of the world.

Now Ember and Sebastian are on the run from both wolves and government agents, and he still doesn’t fully understand what’s going on…despite him witnessing both Ember and Malachi changing into wolves. He’s going to have a lot of questions! After all he is a scientist and it would be strange for him not to.

I listened to this on audiobook. The story is fine - there is a LOT of internal dialogue and not so much actually dialogue, and there is some expectation of suspension of belief to make the story work, but my biggest issue is the narrator.

The narrator is fair enough at creating separate voices, but OMFG someone needs to teach her how to pronounce the words in this book. Where was the QC for the audiobook?? Easterling uses "big words" like cacophony (pronounced as Ka-ko-phone-ie in the book), quiescent ("quee-sent"), hearth ("herth"), proffered ("pro-offered") and other similarly less common words with less than obvious pronunciations. 95% of these were pronounced exactly as they read, which is incorrect.
On the flip side she throws out peregrination with no trouble, so I know she's capable of getting them correct. Either way it was very distracting and diminished the enjoyment of this book.

Ember has broken the most important rule, don’t let the humans know that shifters are real. In fact she has found herself partly mated to Sabastien, a professor. Now she is on the run to avoid the death sentence put on their heads.

This is the action packed second book in the paranormal adventure series, Wolf Legacy. What I enjoyed most about this book was the amazingly crafted characters, especially the strong female heroine. The narrative was from Ember’s point of view giving insight into her thoughts, emotions, motivations and actions. The struggle for dominance between her human half and her inner wolf was interesting and engaging. The storyline flows smoothly and quickly filled emotional drama and nonstop action. The sense of urgency and suspense was palatable. I enjoyed this book a lot and look forward to the next one.

POTATO CHIP OF A SERIES! BET YOU CAN'T READ JUST 1
Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2022
I finished the first book in this series and was heading off to bed around 10 PM. But first, I just wanted a peek at book 2. The next thing I knew, it was about
1 AM. Each book, while having great continuity, has a whole new plot and this one is an eye popper.
We still don't know the good guys from the bad guys,
we just know Ember keeps getting into scarier situations.
I received an audio review copy of this series and went right down the "wolf hole" and didn't resurface until the very last word.
If you like non-stop action, heart-warming characters, Strong young women, and laugh out loud humor, this series has it all,
But you'll want to get all the rest of the books now, so you can just go from 2 to 3 to 4.

Following straight on from book one Ember continues her hunt for her missing brother until her mate becomes embroiled in trouble. Then her actions are that of a woman possessed as her inner wolf takes control and is hell bent on saving her mate. And Yay, little to no mention of cupcakes etc.

Embers character has grown from the cake baking family oriented girl/wolf to that of a pack less wolf intent of ensuring her mates safety. Sebastian is her human mate only he doesn't know that yet, or he didn't. His character is strong and confident no matter the situation he remains calm. Malachi, he is just adorable, out to protect his cousin no matter the consequence. And we'll Dakota, every good story need a bitch with attitude.

Great second book in the series.

Ember's world falls apart when her human mate, Sebastian, is taken prisoner by what appears to be a federal government agency. She enlists her cousin's help to rescue him. Only her cousin's new pack have their own agenda. Ember will have to choose between following shifter law and following her heart.

Honestly, this story by itself is amazing. If this was the introduction to the world Aimee Easterling has created, it would be a 5 star story. But I am still struggling with this apparent inconsistency from Terra's trilogy and Fen's trilogy to Ember's quad. Both previous trilogies are crawling with halfies, so when did mating with a human become a death sentence? That still hasn't been explained. There's still two more books. Hopefully that plot hole will get filled by then.

Tantalizing tale

Ember's ill fated trip to investigate her brother Derek's disappearance gets more and more complicated in Huntress Bound by Aimee Easterling. The convoluted nature of lupine and human scent and mood are described in tantalizing detail by comparing baked goods to personalities by Ember, the pastry chef and barista, in this new tale of the Wolf Legacy series. Bonds of pack, friends and family are explained as well. A deeper look at the sophisticated lupine human existence is introduced. Adding the military to the mix of societies only makes the storyline stronger. I'm looking forward to book three. I have a feeling we will see more bombshells this winter.

This books picks up where the first one ended with Ember seeking refuge with Sebastian. Ember finds herself packless and with a mate who doesn't know he's a mate and no closer to finding her brother. The one clue she does have just opens the door to even more problems. This story is packed full of emotion, drama and action. Ember struggles with who to trust, how much to tell Sebastian, how far she is willing to go to achieve her goals, and her own wolf. Adding complications to the story are secret government agents who kidnap Sebastian and her cousin as well as other werewolf enforcers out to stop her. The story will grab you from the beginning and take you along on Ember's journey.

Audiobook: I enjoyed book two as much as the first one. I felt there was a little more action in this story as Sebastion was taken prisoner and Ember was determined to rescue him. I was entertained by all the twists and turns which kept the story fascinating. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I enjoyed Mapuana Makia's narration, and I found her performance kept my attention. I was given a copy of the audiobook through Spotify. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Wow

So much action and tearing. Sorry that her cousin didn't make it but hope their one step closer to finding her brother, her sole reason for being there. There is something more to Sebastian just don't know what yet, but she sticking to her mate bond to a human. Wish her father was there to help more but maybe he is helping where he is, he seems powerful but wish she still had her pack bond interact. Everything seems bad with it gone ugh

So you break the cardinal werewolf rule... you let humans know about shifters. Ember was just trying to find her brother not get caught up in a government agency intent on finding proof of shifters. And did we mention she’s still working on making her mate ...her mate? This was truly a rollercoaster ride. I couldn’t put this book down from start to finish non stop action. I also loved reading how Sebastian and Ember learn they can trust each other.Cant wait to start on the next book!

Huntress Bound is Aimee Easterling's 2nd installment in her Wolf Legacy Series. Things are definitely starting to heat up. Humor continues to bleed through as a welcome relief in this otherwise very intense plot. The storyline is fast-paced and well written, filled with mystery, intrigue and danger. The characters are well developed and engaging. As the story continues to leave us gaping I can't wait to read book 3!

This book picks up immediately after Huntress Born. Ember is still looking for her missing brother and now, staying with Sebastien, her new human mate, who is still unaware of her wolf or their mate status. Ember looks at the files she found from her brother and draws the government to his door. Soon, Sebastien is taken and she needs to rescue him. Her cousin also shows up, as her mating with a human goes against all laws and needs to be broken. Lots of violence and action follows...

This is the second book in the series which focuses on Ember and takes up right where the first one left off. As always the book is well written with plenty of action and even some heartache in it. I can not wait to see what happens next in the next book of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Sebastián becomes more and more interesting in this book and I am wondering where it will eventually lead. While trying to connect with her brother she has talked with over the internet and has never met in person, Amber finds he has suddenly disappeared. Now a a search to locate him, her adventures begins.
Narrator does a Great job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Lots of twists and turns made Huntress Bound an edge of my seat read. I love the relationship between Ember and Sebastien-- he's a surprisingly strong characters for all his quiet acceptance of the unexplained. This is turning into my favorite series by this author.

Glad to read the cupcakes where less and less to the end. I was tired of the baking and cup cake mentioning... And don't start with the word "companion" ... Did some one count them?

Wonderful story

I really enjoyed experiencing the development of ember and Sebastian's mate bonding, even unconventional and strained as it is, from start to finish. I also enjoyed how much trouble ember's brother has caused by his disappearance has caused.
