Хорошую познавательную литературу найти очень сложно (насколько уместна в рецензии на книгу о маяках шутка про днем с огнем?), но вот эта как раз отличная.

В издании хорошие, понятные иллюстрации, много интересных фактов, которые, к тому же, еще и рассказаны нормально. Часто детские авторы или слишком упрощают, или заваливают читателей не слишком обработанной информацией. Роман Беляев находит золотую середину; он умудряется, с одной стороны, заинтересовать и родителя, с другой, сведения о скорости распространения света на морской поверхности и самом старом маяке в истории любопытны и понятны даже четырехлетке, без дополнительной адаптации.

Очень рекомендую.

Есть такие книги, после которых на долю секунды задумываешься: а здорово бы бросить всё и уйти в хранители маяков, слушать песни штормов, курить трубку и дышать просоленным воздухом. Кроме прочего — настоящий маленький шедевр графики. Маяк — и без того визуально прекрасный объект, но Беляев умудряется найти незнакомые ракурсы, которые вдыхают в них новую жизнь.

Good informative book about how lighthouses work and what they are like. The book compares both lighthouses through time and across countries. This would be a good book for upper KS1/KS2 to use for a reading comprehension task. It would also be a useful book to use alongside a topic on lighthouses/the coast.

Before this year, I wouldn't have gotten too excited about this book. But after reading the wonderful Hello Lighthouse, this would make a great companion piece (also to The Lighthouse Keeper Adventures). Excellent illustrations and just enough detail.

Each page holds a new question and information about a lighthouse. This broken down, easy to access structure makes it particularly enjoyable as the volume of information is never overwhelming.

The information is clearly written and accompanied by beautiful, relevant imagery.

Super documentaire jeunesse, pourrait être utilisé pour résoudre des calculs mathématiques au secondaire. Beaucoup d'informations quand même assez complexe accompagnées de superbes illustrations! J'ai adoré, je le recommande fortement, et en plus, les phares c'est un peu mon dada!

very detailed nifo about how lighthouses work and history. which is to be expected, but maybe it's not such a kids kids book- more like tween with kiddy vibe?
