Can one conversation change your life?

Joe Williams is a good man who works hard, loves his family, and is passionate about his hobby of restoring old cars. Following the unexpected death of his daughter, Joe is struggling as a husband, as a father, and as a man.

Early one morning, when he cannot sleep, Joe takes a walk and has a chance encounter with an old Mechanic. The Mechanic forces Joe to tackle the ageless question, "Why did God allow this to happen?"

"Every day, every moment, you have a choice to make. You were created with that power. Now what you do with that power, and what the rest of your life will be like, well, that part's up to you."

A book for every parent.

I love the simplicity of this short story and the powerful lessons it shares. This is an easy read, and a powerful reminder of what's truly important in life.

It's probably one of the shortest books that I have read in the past two years. But, Warren Peterson packs some outstanding life lessons in the book and I highly recommend it for busy dads.

If you have ever put off spending time with your kids because of a hobby or extended work hours. Think again. There are consequences for not being present for your children. Men have to step up and be in the moment when your kids. I'm on an extended business trip but when I come back I can't wait to swoop my kids in my arms and hold them a little longer .

Recommendation: Buy the book - Read the book - Gift the book to another Dad that needs these lessons.
