劉以鬯(Liu Yichang)，BBS（1918年12月－），原名劉同繹，字昌年。生於上海，祖籍浙江鎮海。1941年畢業於上海聖約翰大學，同年到重慶，曾主編《國民公報》和《掃蕩報》副刊。1945年回上海，任《和平日報》總編輯，後創辦懷正文化社，出版中國新文學作品。1948年來港，先後任《香港時報》、《星島周報》、《西點》等報刊雜誌編輯、主編。1952年到新加坡，任《益世報》主筆兼副刊編輯，後到吉隆坡任《聯邦日報》總編輯。1957年回港後，繼續從事報紙副刊的編輯工作，曾主編《香港時報．淺水灣》、《星島日報．大會堂》等。1986年，創辦和主編《香港文學》月刊，任總編輯至2000年。1988年，以港澳地區特邀代表身份參與「中國文學藝術界聯合會第五次代表大會」。1994年，為香港市政局「作家留駐計劃」第一任作家。曾多次擔任香港、新加坡、吉隆坡、曼谷、澳洲等地徵文比賽評審委員。2001年，獲香港特別行政區政府頒授榮譽勳章。現為香港作家聯會會長。
創作有小說、散文、詩歌、評論等多種文字。1936年開始創作，同年發表了第一篇短篇小說〈流亡的安娜．芙洛斯基〉。一直致力於嚴肅文學的創作，主張文學創作要有試驗和實踐。代表作品有小說《酒徒》、《對倒》、《寺內》、《打錯了》、《島與半島》、《他有一把鋒利的小刀》、《模型．郵票．陶瓷》等；評論有《端木蕻良論》、《看樹看林》等。《劉以鬯中篇小說選》和《對倒》，分別獲第四屆和第六屆香港中文文學雙年獎小說組推薦獎。

- 1941年於聖約翰大學畢業，第一份工作是《國民公報》副刊編輯。
- 1942年春天來到重慶，二次大戰期間身兼兩份抗戰大報（《國民公報》、《掃蕩報》）副刊編輯。
- 1946年抗戰勝利後回到上海，分別創辦《和平日報》副刊，及成立懷正文化社。
- 1948年父親去世，獨自來港。曾任多份報紙（《香港時報》、《星島晚報》、《快報》）副刊編輯。
- 1951年任《星島周報》執行編輯及《西點》雜誌主編。
- 1953年任吉隆坡《聯邦日報》總編輯。
- 1985年1月創辦月刊《香港文學》，並一直擔任總編輯至2000年6月。
- 2001年7月獲香港特區政府頒發榮譽勳章，表彰他對香港文學事業發展的極大貢獻。

Liu Tongyi is a Chinese novelist, essayist, poet and literary critic who writes under the pseudonym Liu Yichang. He did not grow up in Hong Kong but spent the first thirty years of his life either there or in the wartime capital Chungking, where he went upon graduating from the English-speaking St John's University in 1941. It was in Chungking that he took up the profession of newspaper editing which he practised more or less continuously until his retirement in 1991. Liu came to Hong Kong in 1948, and apart from a spell in Singapore and Malaya (1952-1957), has made it his home.
In the world of literature in Hong Kong, Liu Yichang is an institution. He has edited the leading literary periodical, Hong Kong Literature since its inception in 1985, and is Vice-president of the Federation of Hong Kong Writers. More broadly, he has been a presence and a potent force in creative writing in Hong Kong since the 1950s, through his enterprising editing of a number of newspaper literary supplements and his own output. No one has been more influential in encouraging people in Hong Kong to take literature seriously and encouraging people outside Hong Kong to take Hong Kong literature seriously.
Liu Tongyi (chino mandarín) o Lau Tung-yik (chino cantonés), nacido en Shanghai el 7 de diciembre de 1918, es un escritor chino, autor de novelas, cuentos, poesía y crítica literaria, firma con el seudónimo Liu Yichang (chino mandarín) o Lau Yee-cheung (chino cantonés). Una de sus más notables novelas de monólogo interior: Intersección (對倒) inspiró Deseando amar de Wong Kar-wai.
