One of the huge differences about this book is that it is based on interviews with others -- and their stories, not just the author's.
This book is jam packed full of great information and not just one person’s perspective, but several. Lots of great links that I never would’ve stumbled across on my own. I will reread this book closer to my RV escape. It covers everything from solo women to family, to couples, many with pets. A must read if you are planning on purchasing an RV and entering the RV Lifestyle.
I wish this resource was available when my husband and I were trying to envision life as fulltime RVers. I remember going to the central library in Austin, TX around 2013 to research. All we could find were a couple of books written decades before, and none of them were authored by working-age RVers. In contrast, Shawtree worked diligently to cross demographics and tell the stories of RVers across all walks of life. Not only is her book extremely interesting, but it's useful, as well. If you have the "new American dream" but can't envision abandoning the old American dream, this book offers tangible snapshots of people who are doing it. I'm 30 years old and have been traveling in an RV fulltime since I was 26. You can do it, too.
