Overall I liked this book, it had a lot of great tips and it will be one I keep on my shelf and refer back to periodically. One weird thing about the book was that the print was a very light font and sometimes it was hard to read. Very strange, but affected my overall enjoy, ent of the book, have never had that happen before.
To go through life full of energy, with an optimistic mindset is something we all want. This book by Dr Jonny Bowden gives you 150 strategies to get more energy into your life. I enjoyed several of Bowden's other books because they are well written, in language you and I can understand, he makes clear why certain foods, supplements, etc will or will not work for you. This certainly applies to this book. Above all his books are fun to read because he has a nice sense of humour. The book is printed on durable paper, has some nice illustrations and an excellent lay-out. The strategies included in the book include foods and supplements you can take, this information takes up about half of the book. There are shorter sections about exercise, improving your sleep, organizing your living space and how to detoxify your body. Most of the information has a basis in science, with some small excursions into subjects like acupuncture and Feng Shui. All in all this is an excellent and up-to-date guide for anyone interested in health and fitness.
First of all, this book is very heavy. It strained my wrists. Also, the print was a pale gray. What!!!! Why??? Why make a book harder to read? It contained a lot of info I've heard before in various places. But at least it was all in one book now. And the pictures are lovely, so it would look nice on your coffee table.
This had so many great suggestions for increasing energy! It had everyday, readable good science to back up the reason for doing something while also providing a wide variety of ideas. I learned a lot that has significantly improved my life.
Lots of great tips from diet to mindset to exercise. I’ve been very focused on many of these for a few years so didn’t have many aha moment but for someone who hasn’t been this invested in healthy habits, this is definitely worth a read
So the author looks like a cross between Popeye and Sting--that alone compelled me to check out this book from the library. I mostly paid attention to the first few sections of the book, focusing on food, exercise, vitamins, and sleep, and glazed over the last half, which was more of the mindfulness stuff (not that I'm not interested in that, but I've read enough of that elsewhere to know what he's talking about in those sections). Overall, the book contains lots of great info and tips that I'm excited to incorporate into my healthy lifestyle changes. His style of writing is also engaging and casual, so the information didn't make me want to fall asleep, even with all the big scientific medical words.
saw this at the library and picked it up. I read most of it. I like health books to remotivate me to exercise, eat less sugar, and get more sleep. I really love learning how fruits, vegetables, etc. contain so many healthy attributes and the intricate way our body works.
I love this book, very simple, easy to read and gems packed. Putting all the things on earth that will give you energy in one book in such an enjoyable way. I really enjoyed it and benefited a lot of it. Highly recommended if you have serious problems with your energy and sleeping in particular.
I know there is a lot of books claim to be LIFE CHANGING. But this book just does it for you. I enjoyed reading every 1 of the 150 things the writer wrote. I do agree on his philosophy about the human body and soul.
