This is a one day read as its target audience would be middle school and high school students. I wanted only an overview, not something in depth, and this was perfect. Really good synopses of the culture, the politics, and the history of this fascinating country, one I have not yet been fortunate enough to visit but certainly one that is on my list.

I'm going to Hungary in November to visit my cousins and I want to learn a little bit about it before I go. This book was boring and hard to read. I don't want to read it anymore. I checked out a different one today to take with me on my trip.

Excellent! The information was plentiful, pretty photos, and I especially enjoyed the use of actual Hungarian words and the pronunciation immediately afterward so you really get an idea of how different the language is.

"Hungary" by Richard S. Esbenshade is about Hungary and everything about it. The book talks about the country's economy, leisure, religion, government, lifestyle, etc. The book even talks about the country's delicious food and the history of the country. I rated this book 4 stars because it taught me a lot about Hungary. I didn't rate his book 5 stars because it was a bit repetitive and was little bit boring at times. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes learning about different countries or even just to anyone who thinks it would be fun to study Hungary.
