Nava Torres’ life was one of turmoil and danger. Considered a freak of nature by her peers and hunted by the government, she never expected to find a place where she could feel safe—until she heard about a town called Magic. For the first time since her parents’ deaths, she felt awe, hope, and something even stranger—attraction to a man who could heat her blood with one look! Special Ops Marine, Saxon Wehurst, had sworn off women—at least until he met a fiery redhead with black streaks that made him want to run his hands through the colorful tresses. There was nothing in the world that could fire up his protective instincts faster than a woman with trouble nipping at her heels and fire in her hair. When outside forces threaten Nava and the town, Saxon and his men are more than ready to gear up to protect them both. For Saxon, it is personal—nothing stands between a Bull Dog and his mate—not even the government. Will Saxon and his men be able to protect the woman he loves and save the town, or will she be taken from him forever? Whatever happens, it is time to feel the burn...

I enjoyed the book very much, but it leaves you hanging. There are several characters including the main character, Nava, that have you wondering what happens next. What happened to the children that GPS have held and whose children are they? It ends like there will be a second book but does not tell you what that book is.
Nava is ready to stop running. She has made it to Magic and she plans to stay. But when her past catches up with her can Nava protect her new friends and family?
Loving Phoenix by Trinity Blacio is part of the Magic, New Mexico Kindle world. This world is new to me but I didn’t feel lost. I loved Nava. She has tried to live life on the run and it cost her her parents and friends. She is tired of running and ready to plant roots. I love how welcoming Magic is. They know it is dangerous but also that the fight is right. And Saxon doesn’t care about the danger just protecting his mate. I love Saxon and Nava together. Ms. Blacio does a wonderful job of showing Nava’s determination even as she finds a new family. The connections made seem effortless. I loved meeting the residents of Magic and their willingness to fight. I love that Saxon fights his nature to try to give Nava the closure she needs. I love the quirky characters we meet as Nava makes a place in the hearts of Saxon and the town. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters Ms. Blacio created as she added to this world and I hope she will return to Magic again.
Enjoyed the book. Just a few things seemed off. Like she was a virgin but had a child. Now, I can assume with how they extracted her eggs that the babies were grown elsewhere but it didnt "say" it. I think it needed a little more developing of the story part. It moved a bit slow for me as well. I do feel kind of lost becasue there are a lot of characters and clearly this is a big series spin-off by S.E. Smith which I've read one or two of those. I also think "your woman" was overused a little bit. I think other words could have been used like "your mate" or heck maybe use their names. It kinda felt caveman a little bit and I mean that in a humorous way. I liked the story but it feels very unfinished.
I love the Magic, New Mexico Series, but this one by far has been my favorite. I'm usually a slow reader, but this book kept me on the edge of my seat that I just couldn't put it down! You're caught up in Nava's story at the very beginning as she literally runs into her demon protector/mate and it's all non-stop from there. Only problem is the abrupt ending. I loved the book and I'm guessing there's a 2nd to this one. At least there better be!
I beyond loved this story. I'm amazed at how much and how in-depth the story gets. The list of paranormals is all over the place and I'm sure more will appear in future books. All of the characters are great. I feel in love with this story fast and can't wait for more. Lots of action and some intense feelings. Great story for any paranormal romance readers.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
I have read almost all of her books and I have to say I love this one. As usual it has several different species of the supernatural. Saxon and Nava are both strong and powerful. She is use to being in charge and so is he so we have our usual differences but they get through them. I can't wait to see what happens next. Does she have more children out there and what about Elf and will Matty and Storm. Looking forward to the next story.
DNF, the editing and writing were so poor I returned it for a refund. Save yourself the trouble of trying to figure out what the author meant to say and read something else.
Editing to include: If you're thinking that you'll put up with the bad prose to get to some fun smut, bad news, I skimmed through and the only sex scene is at the 93% mark and doesn't last long. So the story doesn't even have that going for it.
This has a lot happening throughout the book. Very unique list of characters and story line. Found several errors throughout the book. But the reason it didn't get a five star was that this could have been even better if I didn't have to re-read parts to figure out who was talking. Otherwise was a very entertaining story.
Trinity doesn't disappoint with her male dominance. I love her clean writing style. It makes the book read smooth and easy to follow. She makes it where you can connect to each character whether you've ever experienced that particular situation or not. Can't wait to read book two!
I gave this book 5 star, because as with all SE Smith's books you get pulled into the story. I love that all the characters are stand alone , each could be a book of their own.
For me this is a change in what Trinity is normally writing. But she did an excellent job. I love this book and can’t wait to read the next one in the series.
