Arabella Visante is the daughter of the High Priestess of the last pureblood coven in existence. The law of the coven forbids a witch or warlock from joining with any other – but, what is a witch to do when she finds her true mate is a wolf shifter?
Dante Liekos feels the call of his mate on a cellular level. He quickly realizes that being with him would force Arabella to betray her coven. Unable to allow his mate to suffer, Dante makes the most difficult decision of his life – to let Arabella go. He hides his own feelings in order to keep her safe and give her a future where she belongs.
Spinning out of control, Arabella is confused by the messages she receives from the Fates and her love for Dante. Broken and lost, she is unable to choose between her coven and her mate and is driven to take a dangerous path – one that could ultimately lead to her death. Will the coven – and Arabella’s parents – understand that sometimes love doesn’t follow the rules?
A lifelong lover of books, Sabine grew up on Science Fiction, Fantasy and Romance novels.
As a child she wanted to be an astronaut and travel the stars looking for aliens. As an adult she’s seriously disappointed we’ve yet to establish so much as a moon base (although she gives a hearty nod to the ISS) and is pretty sure Humans aren’t ready to meet ET.
A Spiritual Catalyst, Electrical Engineer and Cultural Anthropologist by training, she's a geek with heart.
She’s lived in more states than she cares to admit and loves to travel. When not in far off lands, you can frequently find her walking the local beaches and plotting her next adventure.

Magic, New Mexico: Tainted Magic is a Kindle Worlds Novella by Sabine Priestley.
Arabella Visante is a witch but not just any witch. She is the daughter of the High Priestess of the Edinburgh Starfall coven.
“Her coven was the last of the pure witches and warlocks. It was their creed. Their motto. Their golden rule.”
Arabella is a healer and has been traveling from place to place. She had been in big cities and longed for a quieter place. This is what led her to Haven, New Mexico. Little did she know that Haven was home to many different species of shifters or paranormals. On her first day there, Arabella experiences a connection with a man she thought at first was human. His energy spoke to her, affected her like no other. It calmed her. To her surprise, though, she realized that he was not a human after all, but a wolf shifter. This alone made him off limits, no matter what.
Dante Liekos is many things, he is pack alpha, and CEO of Liekos Enterprises. When he came across the woman at the river that day, the effect on him was so strong. For some reason, she was blocking his energy. He would find out why because there was something there between them, something so strong it would not be denied.
“We were meant to find each other. What a witch and a wolf are supposed to do is beyond me. We’ll find out in due time.”
Arabella knows her coven would never permit her mating with a different species. But the fates have decided that Dante is her soul mate. So, is she to alienate her family, her coven, for the sake of love? Or should she endure a lifetime of loneliness, knowing she gave up her one and only chance at true love? Dante is unable to allow Arabella the pain of her decision so he makes it for her, which causes it’s own pain, to the both of them.
This is short, sexy, and fast paced. Arabella was meant to find Haven. She was meant to meet Dante. The fates have plans for her.
“Gonna love you till the day I die, woman.” “Better not stop there. I don’t think one lifetime with you is going to be enough.”
As much as I loved this story I could only give it 4 stars because of the way it ended. I'm sure this was intentionally done for a sequel, but it still leaves the reader longing for closure. Also it didn't feel enough like a "Magic" book even if Magic, and its characters were brought into the mix although briefly. The story of Hunter is left open, of how Dante's parents were killed and Hunter was seemingly blamed for all of it. Then there's the whole thing with the Elves and the Albino Horses. And will there be a big shake up in the Starfall Coven? I have questions that I hope will be answered in your next book about Magic, New Mexico.
A very good read. She is the daughter of a high priestess in a coven. Things get complicated for her in her life with the one she wants to mate with. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
This was long novel hidden in a small novella. So many characters and fast paced. As usual, Priestley builds a world larger than can be conveyed on a few mere pages. What a way to whet my whistle for this new paranormal world. Give me more.
