Liquid Cool #5

I, Alien Hunter

Rate this book
In Liquid Cool Book 5 its Alien Meets Blade Runner…It’s Alien Hunter!
Liquid Cool, the action-packed (and funny), cyberpunk detective series continues.

Our private detective, Cruz, has dealt with all kinds of criminal crazies—full human, cyborgs and robots—and even crazier clients. But he has never had to deal with…extraterrestrials.

Is this case more than a missing persons? Have humans on the Main Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter actually found proof of alien life from another world? What does it all have to do with a missing scientist?

“I’m a detective, not a secret agent,” Cruz says. But never has he faced so much danger from forces on Earth and beyond in the 50-million, supercity of Metropolis—a gritty, ever-rainy, futuristic world of colossal skyscrapers, hovercars, and flashy neon streets.

This time besides the action, thrills, and laughs Author Austin Dragon brings us Spacemen, Martians, meteors, androids, and possibly… a killer alien.

Welcome to the high-tech, low-life world of Liquid Cool.

ALIENS OR HOAX? I, Alien Hunter is the fifth book in the cyberpunk detective series Liquid Cool. If you like your SciFi gritty and dark and like Blade Runner, then this is the series for you. This book can be read as a standalone, but I don't recommend that. It does not end in a cliff hanger, but sets the stage for future books in the series. There is violence.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author did a good job of keeping a steady pace throughout the book to keep this reader interested. He kept you guessing what twists and turns would be revealed in the pages ahead. And there are plenty of those as well as surprises in this story.

This is definitely a series that I want to continue reading! I received a copy of this book from the author and chose to leave a review for other readers. But I would have purchased the book if I hadn't.

Cruz does it again

After the fame and fortune from the previous cases, family life and catching cheating spouses is the life of our detective.
However when a simple missing person case involving a renowned scientist with alien hunting hobbies turns entire law enforcement corporations and governments from peaceful to all out political and physical war it seems our simple detective is the only one everyone can agree on to solve the case, assuming he can avoid the other half of the global and offworld community who wants him off the case by any means necessary.
This book yet again shows how cool our new dad can be as we try to keep pace with him.
Now eagerly awaiting the follow up.

What do you get when you take Douglas Adams, Kilgore Trout, and season it with a dash of Hunter S. Thompson? You get Austin Dragon. One of the most creative "cyberpunk" writers I have had the pleasure to read in quite some time, his "Liquid Cool Detective Agency" is a treat for anyone who appreciates an almost-cozy murder feel mixed with wild action, street smarts, and some brilliant banter. I haven't had the pleasure of treating myself to any of his other writings yet, but it will happen sooner than most expect.

Do yourself a favor, read this guys stuff. You'll be glad you did.

I love these books by Austin Dragon. Terrific imagination and Cruz is an endearing protagonist.

BUT, I'm really sorry to have to report that my Kindle edition of "I, Alien Hunter" is so full of remarkable proof reading failures that I've had to deduct a star. Articles and prepositions are often missing, word order is twisted, and other anomalies make this pretty hard to read. But not impossible. I intend this only as a warning, as I think Mr Dragon's fans will enjoy it anyway. As I did.

Oh my- I do really enjoy these people.
This book did not take 9 weeks to read. I was reading it for the pure enjoyment of the series; sadly I had committed myself to a bunch of arcs and their timetables meant Cruz got put on hold.

I wish I could move right onto book six; but more arc commitments are going to put it on hold for now.

If you want to read some futuristic series for the sheer enjoyment — start reading about the Liquid Cool detective — you won’t regret it!

Another piece of magic writing by Mr Dragon, seriously loving the Liquid cool series and with character depth evolving to a point I feel such empathy and chuckle away when Cruz finds having to deal with nutty in laws who want to poison him the least of his worries as he tries to solve a missing person case that could change the world.
