Full Mountie

Rate this book
Lachlan:

365 days I’ve wanted Beth beneath me, begging for release. One long, angst-filled year we’ve circled each other, keeping things strictly professional.
But I’ve also got shit in my past that complicates relationships. And I should know better than to hope secrets can stay buried.

Hugh:

A year? Try ten. A decade ago, I let Lachlan walk away because deep down, I knew he needed something else.
As soon as I laid eyes on her, I understood what I was up against: he loves Beth. Looks at her in a way he’d never look at me.
I get it.
Curvy, smart, and bossy? I just might love her, too.

Beth:

Two men. Two first dates.
Two first kisses…
But this doesn’t feel like a love triangle.
Oh no. It’s much more complicated than that. I’m not complaining. I’m game for anything. I just have one rule: never at work.

SECURITY BRIEFING:

* Warning: there are no limits to these Mounties’ willingness to please
* Never underestimate the strength of a woman
* Sometimes the past can come back and bite you...if you're lucky
* Top-secret clearance means three doesn’t need to be a crowd

3* north star STARS!

Review @ Midnight Romance

I was waiting for Lachlan's story but didn't anticipate this book will be a M/M/F menage. I'm still grey area with this relationship because the M/M problem but I'm trying to stay positive. I really liked the previous books, and I hoped this one will live my expectation. Sadly it didn't quite deliver.

description

Lachlan was introduced as Gavin's (the Prime Minister) head of security who has crush with Beth, Gavin's secretary. But he's unsure to get to close with Beth because he feels not worth it. Hugh made his first appearance in Max's book, Doctor Bad Boy as the new security team for the PM. It appears Lachlan and Hugh shared a secret past. Beth overwhelmed yet intoxicated between two men and she couldn't decide.

I kinda liked Beth. She's independent and hard-working woman. Beth appears to be shy and 'conservative' but believe me, she isn't. Just a regular workaholic woman. Beth and Lachlan already in circles for as long as I can remember. No one's making a move but when Hugh step out, everything changed.

Lachlan was the one who frustrated me the most with his uncertainty. I didn't like that trait on a guy. Fortunately, Beth is really patient like a saint. She's still welcome him after his little drama. However, she's also dating Hugh but they're agree to tell on each other. Their 'date' phase was moving too slow and almost bored me. But I really enjoyed how Hugh woo-ed and get romantic with Beth.

Finally we got the sex. Lachlan and Hugh. Hugh and Beth. Lachlan and Beth. The only thing I didn't connect is with their kinky play. Their BDSM feels like a child play. Pretty tame. Beth is pretty much vanilla but curious enough to explore. I couldn't enjoy when Beth control the scene when Lachlan is the submissive. Don't worry! The sex scenes happened a lot. Honestly, I prefer Lachlan and Hugh because they have the connection from a long time ago.
Basic rule of sex: trust your dick. When it’s happy, you should be happy. But Jesus, that’s easier said than done when your boyfriend is rubbing circles around your asshole and your girlfriend is grinning at you on the other side, and pretty soon you’re just going to come on the spot because you haven’t done this in ages. ~Lachlan

description

After a lot of hot sweaty sex, the main conflict came from both man #facepalm. Really?! Beth is the most cool-est person without any drama. Like a pretty doll who is in love with those two. Hugh went to martyrdom and Lachlan... Geez, I dont' know anymore. It feels surreal after all the sh!t happened. Obviously, the chemistry only exist between Lachlan-Beth or Lachlan-Hugh. That's it.
"You are my North Star,” I whisper. “Everywhere I am, no matter what I’m doing, I gravitate toward you. You hold still in the swirling chaos so I can find my way to you. You are bright and constant in my sky.” ~Lachlan to Beth

The fight between Lachlan and Hugh in the past because... no communication? Cliche. And it happened again when they're with Beth. However, Beth's confused with their unconventional relationship (Poly) and no one could comfort/explain her when they're too busy with their feelings.

description

Overall, it looks promising and everything went down the hill. It was nicely written but no actual story. It was too long pages that kept me wondering when will I finish this. In the end, I loved Ellie and Gavin's wedding and new promising characters for the next book :) Cheers!

#FuckingHugh .... my girlie parts are singing in anticipation!!

 photo 17546786_1810803705803868_8194784505647650954_o_2.jpg

This series has been tremendously special from the start but Full Mountie was more than just special. The story was remarkable. It’s a story that began to brew in Prime Minister, simmered oh so low in Doctor Bad Boy and then just boiled when it was its turn :)

“Because this is Beth. The woman I’ve been wanting since the first moment I saw her. The woman who’s made me ache to be right here every single day for the past year. And this is my chance to show her how I feel”

If you’ve read the Frisky Beavers series from the start, then you know Lachlan and Beth have been dancing around each other for quite some time. And while they were dancing, a bond formed. It was a quiet bond and almost transparent, but it was there and it was strong.

“You are my North Star,” I whisper. “Everywhere I am, no matter what I’m doing, I gravitate towards you. You hold still in the swirling chaos so I can find my way to you. You are bright and constant in my sky.”

When Hugh was introduced into the mix at the end of Doctor Bad Boy, I knew this story would be explosive. And I wasn’t wrong :) #FuckingHugh <3

Hugh Evans and Lachlan Ross have history. A history that was never really finished or put to rest. A history that is now front and center in both their lives a decade later. A history that cannot be ignored any longer. A history that made this journey poignantly heart-stopping beautiful!

“I pushed you away ten years ago. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I wanted you, too. In every way. I loved you, then, and I love you now. I never stopped loving you, and I’m so fucking sorry I hid that from you.”

Full Mountie is the story of three people who loved each other separately and grew to love each other as one. It is a triad relationship. Their love for each other was written in the stars. It just took them a little time to align with the stars :)

“I curl my body up so I’m sitting, and she’s on my lap, and Hugh’s behind her, and I hold them both tight.
This is everything I’ve ever wanted. I had no idea. My whole life, I was waiting for these two, and the universe tried to fucking show me.”

What I loved best about the relationship between Lachlan, Hugh and Beth is the balance. All three were equal in their relationship even while they journeyed to a HEA. There’s not much I can say about that point without giving you the story itself except I will say that this was just perfectly unfolded. Hugh coming into the picture could very much have turned into a love triangle, but it never did. The authors did an exceptional job of portraying Beth falling in love with Hugh while all the time loving Lachlan without a single triangle moment. They gave us the journey of a beautiful poly-relationship that almost melted my kindle. The chemistry between these three was insane. It was sexy and dirty and kinky all wrapped in a cocoon of romance and love! Their growth was realistic and really well portrayed. The authors made sure to keep the realism of society’s views on poly-relationships as part of the journey. It added depth to the story and it made it realistic and relatable.

If you follow my reviews or know me personally, then you know that sometimes characters in a book resonate deeply with me and become #mypeople. While I deeply love #FuckingHugh and #SluttyBeth and #FilthyLachland, their story transcended beyond #mypeople to #mystory. I am deeply in love with their journey. I highly recommend this to ALL romance readers, especially to those who might not understand or believe in poly-relationships because this journey was so stunning that the poly aspect of the relationship will not even matter #TRUST

When I realized that this installment of the Frisky Beavers was a menage, I was giddy - giddy, I tell you! Because what's better than well-written menage? Nothing, that's what! So the potential for greatness was huge here (take that however you'd like;)! Unfortunately, that potential went unrealized, unrealized to the tune of only 3.5 stars. Aaargh!

While parts of this book were really very good, a lot of it was vague and written with a definite lack of emotion. Beth's character was really flat, in both her actions and her inner thoughts. Getting a reaction out of her was like poking a rock - in fact, Lachlan and Hugh were also a bit 'lifeless'. There was so little angst and inner reflection that the story got a bit boring sometimes. I have no problem with a relationship-only based plot, but if an author wants a relationship to carry a book, it has to be fleshed-out and have some good depth to it. That was definitely missing in this one.

Having said that, there was some excellent heat between Hugh and Lachlan, and I really liked that Lachlan turned out to be the submissive in their relationship - that was unexpected and made for some scorchingly hot sex between the two of them, as well as the three of them. If you're not bothered by chapters being strung together with only hot sex, this book is for you - and I'll continue my search for a decent menage read. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it!

I wanted to love this so much more and it wasn't bad, 3 stars for me is still enjoyable but it just didn't hit the same as the last 2 books in terms of romance. Was this spicy? ohh hell yeah, I mean 2 virile men and 1 woman, how can it not be spice central, so the spice was great but the romance fell flat.

We've met Beth and Lachlan in the last 2 books and they have been circling each other for a year but what I didn't get is WHY? there was really no interactions between the two of them, we're just told they want each other and for whatever reason it hasn't happened. I really wanted to see more chemistry between them and sexual tension before they got into sleeping together.

Enter Hugh who Lachlan had a relationship with 10 years ago. Fine, 2nd chance romances aren't my jam tbh but with this we don't ever see what they had 10 years ago so it just kind of jumps into them being back in each other's lives and again, no sexual tension, they just kind of pick back up where they left off it seems.

Hugh goes on a date with Beth at the beginning and again, no sexual tension, it just felt very much like we were told about the date and that they now are into each other and into Lachlan.

In summary, I think this book just lacked sexual tension for me which is a huge factor in what makes a romance a 4 or 5 star read for me.

If you are in the mood for a sexfest MMF/MF/MFM/MM book though then this will absolutely melt your kindle.

The first two books in the Frisky Beavers series gave little hints at the tension between Beth, the Prime Ministers executive assistant, and Lachlan, the Prime Minister's Chief of Security. And since this whole seres has an element of kink, there was plenty of that, with the introduction of Hugh Evans, a former cop and a new member of the Prime Ministers security detail.

This triangle was difficult to follow because there were times when I honestly thought Hugh was the woman - even though he was supposed to be the dominant, alpha male. There was also a lot of going on with each character, while they were figuring out this new relationship. Hugh and Lachlan knew each other ten years ago, and now they were feeling the same thing for the exact same woman. And then Beth trying to figure out the kink world and what she likes and wants.

But ultimately it was about three people being in a relationship that majority of society frowns upon. Lots of hot, intense scenes. There were also appearances from other characters from previous books, with enough of a tease to make me want to read the next book in the series.

Beth has been in love with Lachlan for the past year but the two have yet to do anything about it. However everything changes when Hugh comes back into the picture. Hugh and Lachlan had a history ten years ago and feelings are still present.

Beth gets asked out by Hugh and she also gets asked out by Lachlan. The story is about how all three get along together and how they make a relationship work. Overall the book was just okay but there was very little actual story line which was disappointing.

I've been waiting since forever to get my hands on this book and GOOD GOD it was worth the wait...I usually don't go for this kind of genre but I LOVED IT.

You can feel all the angst, lust, love and fear from all three characters. I loved Lachlan in PM and DBB and I’ve fallen in love with him even more now.
I knew Hugo will be an intense guy from the last pages of DBB. Beth didn't do it for me in previous books but she made quite a comeback in this.

I must say I didn't enjoyed and laughed this much with a TRIAD since I’ve read Hotter than ever by Elle Kennedy.

I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!

Sweet mother of God, this was H-O-T. The writing was great, which I had no doubt of because I love Ainsley Booth's books and all of this series. But the heat was turned up to level 12 on this one.

New life goal: A threesome with 2 hot RCMP officers.

Honestly, I thought the conflict was great - the world isn't quite ready to fully accept polyamory - add that to some bi boys and I definitely understood the conflict that our trio had about going public. But I loved them all together SO much, found all three of them so likeable, I was rooting for them from the start.

Awesome book. Loved it!

Good lord this series is everything! Sexy, sweet, intense but so romantic too... I love how each book connects and we get glimpses of past characters and how time has progressed for everyone. This tale is one of a triad of Lachlan, Beth & Hugh and holy they are beyond hot together. We've been wanting Beth and Lachlan's story since book one and the authors here didn't disappoint one bit!

Ainsley and Sadie are at it again, but this time those damn Frisky Beavers are about to get filthy.

For the last year, Lachlan has had it bad for Beth, assistant to the Prime Minister, but unwilling to act on his attraction. But when Hugh steps up and is willing to wine and dine Beth, it sets the wheels in motion for an explosive romance.

For Beth, she’s been in love with Lachlan but is suddenly intrigued by Hugh. Even with Lachlan willing to make his play, she can’t seem to want to give up the chance with Hugh. She’s even more inclined to keep them both when she realizes that the history they share is far more intimate.

Full Mountie is a M/M/F romance; so if you don’t mind a lot of m/m action, this is your book.

Fuck this shit was hot. Two alpha males going at it? Yes, fucking please.

So Beth was this uber strong, still innocent but willing to experiment, woman. I loved her. I got her instantly. When she’d watch the two and just stare in wonder, saying ‘That’s hot’ – I was like, OMG, that is ME. So so so so ME.

Lachlan was this strong silent type – while Hugh seemed so much in your face – but I loved that deep down, we saw this vulnerability in Hugh that really gave him such depth. Their chemistry was off the charts hot.

With these type of poly-romance reads, it can easily turn into a feeling of a love triangle; but that is not the case in FM, the balance was perfect. You never felt jealousy when this trio was just a duo for a moment or two – I think the shared history between Lachlan and Hugh and then Lachlan and Beth really balanced it out. There was a few moments when that history was shown and it really lent some intimacy to some pretty erotic moments.

Overall, this was another fantastic installment of the Frisky Beaver Series and I can’t wait for Tate’s story next!

I am a big fan of the first two books of the series and I could re-read them and re-read them and not complain. Suffice it to say that because of that, Lachlan had become one of my favorite characters and I was pretty excited to get my hands on his book.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against an MM romance. I have some favorite ones, too. But this book turned out to be a different kind of surprise. Although I wouldn't blink at reading an MM story, I still don't have a handle for an MMF (or any combo of more than two parties) story. I just can't grasp how that kind of arrangement would work. But I guess, to each their own because I'm sure there are countless out there in this exact kind of relationship.

Although I wished a different ending for Lachlan, I would still say that this was still a good read. It's like a movie that, despite the ending that you didn't want, you cannot deny that it was still a great movie. The AB and SH duo still works--and I hope they never stop working together in coming up with these stories.

This continues to be a fun BDSM romance series! Head of the Prime Minister’s security team Lachlan and the PM’s executive assistant Beth’s chemistry has been building since book 1 but Lachlan doesn’t want to act on it. Then his former lover Hugh joins the security team and he’s not afraid to make his intentions known to Beth, which then spurs Lachlan into taking action. And then leads to the start of a kinky triad relationship. Because of the nature of their jobs, there’s an extra need for discretion while they figure things out. Both heroes have some things to work through, both in what went wrong in their relationship before and what they feel they deserve now. I wasn’t always impressed with how Lachlan and Hugh handled things but I did enjoy the three of them together. This explored power dynamics in some fun ways and I was really into the teaser at the end about the couple in the next book.

CW: hero’s parents were biphobic/homophobic when he came out, pregnant side character + healthy delivery, reference to tornado’s aftermath, unprotected sex, bi-erasure, ableist language (crazy, blindly), baby epilogue

Sexy Times Three

This is the third installment in the Frisky Beavers series. I enjoyed it, but found it a little more difficult to get into the characters heads. Lachlan/Beth, Beth/Hugh, and Lachlan/Hugh were easy to read and love, but Lachlan/Beth/Hugh was harder to grasp emotionally, I think because it was harder for the characters emotionally, as well. Lachlan and Hugh, especially, each had a struggle with where all of the pieces of the emotional puzzle fit, whether or not the "triad" could be real, lasting, and public. Their struggle was hard to read at times, but I found it much more interesting than some ménage stories that unrealistically portray such a relationship as easy and universally accepted. I got this as a new release, and my one complaint was several proofreading/editing issues of missing words here and there and a sentence or two that seemed garbled. I know that these are often corrected with subsequent eBook updates, so it may not be an issue in the future.

Man oh man!! Yes yes yes!!! That’s what I’m talking about. An MMF, H’s were sth in the past. Both are interested in h and so the story unfolds.
What I love about these books is the low angst and spicy content. It won’t win any literary awards but it’s a great palette cleanser in between heavy angst and dark books.. did i tell you the mm scenes are hot? Light bdsm and new kink unlocked “pegging” oh yes!!!

3.5 stars. This won't be a full review because it's been so long since I read this one. I liked this book, but didn't love it. This is a MMF menage between Beth, Hugh and Lachlan. I felt like this story was a little too complicated. Hugh and Lachlan previously had a relationship. After they broke up, Lachlan left and has been working with, and in love with secretly, Beth. Now Hugh is back and is working with them both. Hugh still wants Lachlan, but Lachlan wants both Beth and Hugh. They end up in a menage relationship, but I felt like their feelings were not equal. I loved Beth and Lachlan together and definitely felt a soulmate connection between them. But Hugh seemed to be a gay man putting up with Beth for Lachlan's happiness' sake. I never felt love between Hugh and Beth. I wish they had all met on an even plating field where past feelings didn't overshadow their love. Overall, this book was only okay and was my least favorite of the series.

Absolutely loved this fantastic book. Lachlan, Beth and Hugh are the perfect trio. As Beth puts it man-Beth-man sandwich. That's one yummy sandwich I would like a bite of.
This book is smoking hot with some of the best chemistry I have read this year. It's also a romance that explores the fact that love doesn't come in a neat box. You don't get to choose who your heart wants and that's ok. Love is Love.
MMF and MFM scenes. Definitely recommend this book

5 Stars

I give Full Mountie by Ainsley Booth five stars. This is book Three of The Frisky Beavers series. Like all of Ainsley’s other books this is a book about couples that like to dabble a little in the BDSM scene but are not hardcore at it. Keep in mind you can read this as a stand-alone book but to understand two of the Characters you may want to read the first two books first. This book deals with a M/F/M relationship with some scenes that are M/M so if you do not enjoy that you may not like the book. I felt the scenes are tastefully done and it did not bother me at all. This book is very well written and of course has a HEA. You will fall in love with all three Characters in the book.

Lachlan is head of security for the Prime Minister and has wanted the Prime Minister’s Assistant for a year now. The two have circled each other for this year but have up until now kept everything professional between them.

Hugh had a relationship with Lachlan a decade ago but allowed him to walk away no matter how much he cared for him. One look at Lachlan with Beth and he knows that he loves her. What’s not to love she is smart, bossy and Curvy.

Beth decides to go out on a date with Hugh because Lachlan refuses to ask her out, first date and first kiss with him and she is hot for him. Then she finally gets her chance with Lachlan and finally gets her first kiss with him and she is over her head. She wants them both and finds herself in the middle of something that she is trying to wrap her head around.

This book was a very quick read! I had a hard time putting it down. This book is a must read!

Favorite Quote:

I feel in love with both Lachlan and Beth in the first book of the Frisky Beaver series and wanted their story ASAP. When I found out Lachlan and Beth's book wasn't going to be just them but with another character, I was so disappointed. Long story short, I was not going to give up on Lachlan and Beth and decided to read Full Mountie. I'm so glad I did because this book isn't like most ménage books where one, two or three characters get jealous. No jealousy here at all, which I love because that shows how talented and creative Ainsley Booth is! Lachlan, Beth and Hugh are selfless characters. I love the way they care about one another and when you read this book, you are going to love all three of them too! Not only is Full Mountie my favorite book from the Frisky Beaver series, it is also my favorite M/F/M, M/F, M/M, M/M/F book ever. I love Hugh a lot too but as a Lanchlan and Beth fan, my heart melted at all the sweet things Lanchlan said to Beth and how protective he was of her. Also, I adored the epilogue for Full Mountie.
Out of 5 Stars;
Lanchlan (Hero): 5 Stars
Beth (Heroine): 5 Stars
Hugh (Hero): 5 Stars
Secondary characters (characters from Frisky Beaver book 1 & 2 all make appearances): 5 Stars

Overall book: 5 Stars

Lachlan, head of security for the Canadian PM, has been pining after the PM's admin assistant, Beth, for the past year. But he refuses to do anything about it. But when Hugh, a guy from Lachlan's past, shows up, changes are set in motion. I was really excited about this story, but it fell short for me.

First of all, Hugh seemed very manipulative to me - at least in the beginning. And Lachlan was very different what I thought from the previous books. When it was hinted that Beth wanted to dominate him and he'd be okay with that, I was really disappointed - where'd my big Alpha guy go? Then, the running away (especially what Hugh did!)...just a lot of ups and downs in three people trying to develop a relationship together and not much else in the story. The story did get better towards the end, but I didn't like second epilogue, which is the last thing you read and so what you're left thinking about. My favorite part? When the characters are laughing about US President Best wanting ketchup on his overcooked filet! Loved it!

BOY am I glad I picked Full Mountie up again. I set this aside over a year ago because I was pretty sure it was my mood and not the book that got in my way. I’m glad I kept it handy because Hugh, Beth, and Lachlan are all so sparky together.

Hugh is especially captivating because he thinks he’s being a player but it’s so clear that Lachlan and Beth are it for him. He is cocky and commanding, but also intuitive and tender, which is my favorite kind of catnip. I have posted some of my favorite highlights.

Booth & Haller’s Frisky Beavers series is consistently good! The romances are centered on a group of kinky friends. Consent is excellent.

I read the first few in this series and loved them. Kobo tried to tempt me with a voucher and I spent it on this. I adore m/m/f but this just didn’t work for me. And I’m not sure why. I know I had trouble telling the guys apart. Beth was just … gah, I don’t know. Flat?

I love Lachlan!!! I mean, he really is the best and nothing can deter me from that, so obviously, I wasn’t crazy about Hugh at the start. He seemed to be a nemesis for Lachlan, but I soon realized that wasn’t the case. Beth surprised me in this story, she was much stronger and more determined that she has appeared in the other two books. In the end, these three had a lot to work through, and they didn’t always handle it well. Their flaws made them all the more likable, and by the end of the book, I was as invested in their relationship as they were. I wasn’t sure about this when I started, but I was completely in love by the end <3

Lachlan is Chief of Security for the PM Gavin, & is in love with Beth, the PM's Executive Assistant, but they've never got together.
Into the security detail comes Hugh, Lachlan's lover from 10 yrs previously (now owning to Bi) , who is still in love with him. Then Lachlan dates Beth; sucks off Hugh; then fucks Beth. So after a week or so of them all being nice to each other & trying NOT to be jealous, the inevitable happens & they all fall into bed together for an absolute fuck-fest :) :) :)
However, Hugh is scared of not being loved & of being left alone, so he runs off. Lachlan & Beth go after him & we have our HEA.
Frigging lovely stuff :)

I will be the first to say, I did not expect much from this book. I'm fairly picky with FM romance, especially erotica, and going into this, there were a few things that made me pause. I'm thrilled to have been so wrong. This was fun, this was funny, this was emotional. I'm completely ignoring one of the epilogues because that still made me roll my eyes so hard it hurt, but aside from that - what a delight! I will say, I don't think what I read of the other characters in this book inspires me enough to go back and explore the rest of the series, but I'm quite pleased I gave this one a chance.
