Beyond the Fire

Rate this book
Destry Cotton was not from Amity nor did she care about its rich and colorful past. However, this Christmas her husband insisted they travel to his home, where Destry met her in-laws for the first time. Trapped with the Cottons by a terrible blizzard, Destry not only began to learn about Amity, but Bill Cotton spoke of his own struggle with life and the impact doubt and fear had taken on his family, his friends and his nation. As Bill told of God’s supernatural intervention, Destry began to wonder if the God she professed to believe would actually interact with humans. Was it even possible? Pull up a chair, join Destry and witness how God intervened to rescue a nation and help his people learn to live Beyond the Fire.

I really liked how the book ties all the characters together...isn't it truly a small world after all. The most powerful part of this book I feel is the way it relates the battles taking place in the heavenly realms, and the outcome those have on the characters in their physical existence regardless of their knowledge. It encouraged me to remember that even when it seems like nothing may be happening to improve our circumstances, we are not alone and God is moving, even in our ignorance.

This novel is full of adventure and excitement. Is about Bill telling his grandchildren about his life in war. Is about God and His blessings. Has violence and redemption. Is three books in one. Really liked this authors presentation and characters. Thanks to Goodreads.
