M.R. Forbes is the author of a growing number of science-fiction series including Rebellion, War Eternal, Chaos of the Covenant, Stars End, and the Forgotten novels. Having spent his childhood trying to read every sci-fi novel he could find (and write his own too), play every sci-fi video game he could get his hands on, and see every sci-fi movie that made it into the theater, he has a true love of the genre across every medium. He works hard to bring that same energy to his own stories, with a continuing goal to entertain, delight, fascinate, and surprise.
He maintains a true appreciation for his readers and is always happy to hear from them.

Great series! I loved the creative approach to a very old belief. The twists and turns and non stop action keeps you completely engaged. The only thing I didn't like was when my Fire ran out of battery!
Dark Power, Light Power, Darker Power, Light Power
All hail Queen Abigail, Queen of the Demons, and her guard, the Rejects. I have very much enjoyed this series. I like the characters. They were well written and I particularly liked Queenie who is highly competent and compelling. I like the play of good vs evil. Jedi vs Sith. Is dark power stronger than light power? It seems like it, yet... Although, no good deed goes unpunished. Thus ends the Queen and the Rejects series. Fortunately there may be more adventures in the future.
The series isn't a set of 7 books. It's one long book with 7 chapters presented as "books" for easier reading. They are arbitrarily split based on the number of pages. That's why each "book" has a cliff hanger—there is no separate story arch with resolution in each chapter. The whole thing is one endless pulp.
That's why the review is applicable to the whole series and every chapter individually. They are virtually the same plot with too many endless details of action/fighting scenes that just annoy after a couple of times and not enough story, world building, or character development to make it more than a junk space fantasy that feels like a "fast food" type of reading.
Looks like the author was training his writing muscles and repurposed—for the lack of the better word—many ideas and concepts from popular sci-fi books and movies. Think of the Chaos of the Covenant as the Star Wars with less story and more fights where the "force" is replaced with a space vampire blood's similar to the "force" abilities called "gift" and a mix of Suicide Squad and Guardian of the Galaxy movies' characters as "rebels". The whole thing with the blood is taken directly from a vampire stories cookbook. Though in the book the bad characters are never called "space vampires".
So, the book (with its 7 chapters) is space vampire fantasy based on Star Wars ideas and characters borrowed from Suicide Squad and Guardian of the Galaxy, and that is spiced up with stories from different cultures and religions to explain the said space vampires.
And here I am at the end of what I can only describe as a magnificent journey through 7 books with some great characters and probably one of my favourite teams commited to paper - Reeeejects!
A fine way to end the series with a few twists and turns that took the story in a different direction than I assumed it would. It was a shame that the endings of some characters happened so quickly without a fanfare, both heroes and villians. Also at the very end, a couple of Rejects fates was left unknown - Pudding and Uriel for starters. Everyone deserved an ending after so many pages.
The story wraps.kind of quickly, but leaves one with a good finish, where not all the Rejects.survive, the story is not truly finished because of the Republic militaries final actions, The story and books maintained.a.good.pace throughout, bringing in new characters, and taking some expected and unexpected twists and turns. The ending I did really enjoy, and now I'll probably continue into one.of his others series, because he give a good variety of action, thoughfulness, humanity with all its' faults and joys, etc . Well done and thank you M.R. Forbes
So it turns out it as the nanites who want to kill the One. The One has had forever to upgrade and made them in the first place (and they've regressed) so what exactly do they think they'll do? Same with Lucifer. They'd go through the gate and get instantly nullified.
But everyone makes it out except the new guy, Nerd. The gift is gone, because the Shard is an ass and all the nanites went poof.

I have read all of M R Forbes books and always enjoyed them. This series is on the top of my list and all the previous ones got five stars as well because that's the max. Pure fun in a great story with great characters, dialogue, action and emotions, all wrapped in good flowing writing. Highly recommended.
High, lows, what a ride! I have to admit that the series was initially rough for me at the beginning, and it was started feeling like a drag when it started getting "weirdly mock-religious"...
But despite a somewhat anti-climatic ending, I have to say... What a ride!
Whew! Sadly, this one ended a bit sparsely for me. An interesting final twist, but some of my favorite characters got short shrift, to the point where I wasn't even sure if one of them made it to the end of the series alive or dead. Admittedly, there was a large cast of players in this one, but still, it left me feeling a bit sad that they weren't mentioned.
This is the last book in this particular series, but it doesn't lack in intense action and continues the trends in the previous books. There are some losses in this one though, so be prepared. The actual end, for me, could have been a little more detailed and intense, but over all a very good ending for a very good series.
A sci-fi adventure on a grand scale that you are unable to put down.
Very well put together sci-fi story that consistently reminds the reader of Fire Fly, Star Wars and Star Trek. If it were ever to become a film, it would have a cult following almost overnight and they would be clamoring for the next installment in the series...and I do hope that Mr. Forbes plans on doing so!
This is a fantastic series. i did not see how Forbes would tie it all up but he did. Lots of action, moves along at rocket speed . I love this series and recommend it to everyone! Great characters . You will love hate and fear them. read this ! Its really good
The chaos of the covenant series was excellent. Each book was well written and exciting from beginning to end. I would highly recommend reading the series from start to finish. I
MR Forbes has become my favorite author, all of his books are well written and hook you early so you have a hard time putting them down. Everyone I have read was a page turner.
I am sad to see the series come to a close. These books were a great enjoyment that I could count on to be a fun, entertaining read. I look forward to some continued adventures with the Rejects.
This was a great series and this book was no different than the others that were in the series . The book had plenty of action and more than a few twists to go with it plus a great storyline.
This series is incredibly exciting, fun, funny, fantastic fantasy. I love the characters except for the bad guys. It's a great story with plenty of action and will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you like space fantasy I think you will enjoy this series.
Very good series. I think the ending could have been a little better. But I enjoyed these books very much. Looking forward to reading the exploits of Queenie' daughter in the next series of books.
A good ending to a great story line! The author pulls together and closed out the series with some unexpected twists. Well-crafted. Interested to see what lies next in this universe.
Well this was one action filled adventure with all the usual backstabbing and betrayals the series has become known for. Also it was an ending that wasn't really an ending. Next up is Haley's trilogy.
Well what a great series . I hope we will hear more from the Rejects and Abigail Gage. Now going to start on the daughter. Colonel Quark reminds me of the quark on deep space nine lol
Loved the story all the way through. Couldn't stop reading and waiting to get to the end of the story. The author has an amazing talent for putting you right inside of his story.
The series ends on a cliffhanger. I hope that means there will be more adventures for hell’s rejects. I hope we’ll find out about the one and what lies behind the gate. This is too much fun to stop now. Thanks for a great series.
So, if as I did, you got the box set "Hell's Rejects", because of the great price, and good reviews, you owe it to yourself to get the rest of the series. Well written, building to a fantastic end.
This series highlights abuse of power and position in government and religion. It is a good read for those who like Scifi with a questionable sense of humor. "No 'Gants' were harmed in the making of this book." Or so I was told...
A wild and crazy ride with great characters and lots of awesome sci-fi. Please read the books sequentially in order to appreciate the fun and plot switches. Enjoy!
The personal choices Queenie has to make for her family ( rejects and freejects,, her daughter, the whole galaxy and herself. Good verses evil and the balance. They have all come a long way and back to survive and live.
Captivating, good story plot, always changing and yet all plot lines kept falling into place. Great imagination by the author. I would definitely read more of his books!
A thrill packed ride that never stops. Action on every page, a plot twist on every other. A wild bunch of individuals who become friends, then family as they try to save everything against all odds. Hell yeah!
