Poseuses: Vrouwenportretten/Portraits of Women

Rate this book
Poseuses collects Gon Buurman's portraits of queer women, sometimes alone, sometimes as couples. Warm and affecting, Poseuses captures a certain time and certain place while retaining something timeless. "You can see Poseuses as a visual commentary on conventional and normative reality. The camera is focused on female appearance and sexual identity. In an assault that is partly analytical, partly playful and partly satirical, convention itself is the target."

beautiful photography book with pictures of lesbian (couples(and one throuple)), just ordinary lesbians, no glamour. In the 80s, mostly Amsterdam, with a beautiful text about what it means to be a lesbian and the results of it in society at that time, in both English and Dutch. highly recommend it for every sapphic girlie
