Once I let go and fully-thrusted myself into his soul, everything changed...

Twenty-three year old Evelyn Healy is a woman in conflict. She’s been in conflict almost all her life with her father, Mitch Healy, Captain of the charter cruise ship The Prissy Jack, where Evelyn is the first mate.

She’s in conflict with her ex-boyfriend, Kyle Madsen, who has reappeared on board with a new girlfriend after abandoning Evelyn in New Zealand eight months before, leaving her with a broken heart and a shattered ego.

She’s in conflict because of the growing attraction between her and handsome young Siddharth Patel, for whom The Prissy Jack’s latest charter was hired for a search for a bride cruise by his wealthy Indian family.

But most of all, Evelyn Healy is in conflict with herself—as she tries to reconcile the tensions between loyalty, family, her own sense of self and love.

I received a free ARC of this book with no obligation to leave my honest review.
This is the first book I've read by this author and while it had some editing issues I still feel it was a well developed story.
This one was told from multiply POV's but mostly Evelyn's. Must admit I was a little disappointed that we never got to hear from Sid, which I found surprising and made him feel a little one dimensional and underdeveloped as a character. It felt like we got "told" how he was feeling but didn't really see it. To me he came across a little immature (he was supposed to be in his 30's) and I think he POV could have added another element to the story. Wont go into details as I don't want to spoil it for you.
This story was an emotional ride, especially for Evelyn, she had a lot to deal with and I think she certainly was a strong character and who seemed mature for her age.
Really light on the steamy scene's with minimal detail so weren't exactly steamy, which is fine and a nice change. Lots of interesting secondary characters, who made up the family and the Prissy crew.
Overall a good read with some editing issues to be corrected.

Evelyn is the first mate on the Prissy Jack, with her father as the owner and Captain. They are getting ready for an important cruise with a wealthy Indian family who is searching for a bride for their son. But as they start to assemble the crew and supplies, Evey realizes Mitch has invited Kyle and his new girlfriend, Joy, aboard the ship to help work the cruise. Mitch gave Evey no warning, and it took her all of 8 months to get over Kyle and she is still angry when they see each other. But that anger is soon forgotten as the guest come aboard and Evey welcomes Siddharth (Sid) on board, she is stricken immediately, but they are trying to find him a bride, there will no time for her to explore her feelings.

Sid doesn't share her intentions of not exploring their connection/chemistry. He only has eyes for her and wants nothing more than to see where they go. But will his family allow it? Will Evey ever find her HEA?

This book goes through all of the emotions with Evey and Mitch as father/daughter and captain/first mate and then Evey and Kyle as they try to find common ground to work together, and Evey and Joy as they become friends. It also goes through the crew and their feelings on the cruise, the each other, etc. It is such a good book and well written with all of the different characters and exploring their different characteristic that make them who they are. This will not disappoint you at all! A must read!!! This is very intense but oh so good, it will have you crying, laughing and crying again. I loved this book and the truths that come from it. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Evelyn was the first mate of the Prissy Jack. Her father is the owner and Captain of the boat. They have an important client coming aboard for a cruise. She is blindsided by her father as he has hired her old boyfriend, Kyle, who left her stranded in a foreign land. She is off kilter when the party comes aboard. The cruise is for an Indian prince to find his wife from among Indian girls that his parents deem worthy to marry him. He doesn’t want this but feels like it is his duty to his family. When Evelyn meets Sid their is an instant chemistry. What will this cruise hold for Evelyn? Will Sid make a move on her? What is Kyle doing there? Why did he bring his new girlfriend? Why did her father do this to her? Grab the book and start reading. It is a very intense and interesting read. I loved this book and the truths that come from it.
S.J. once again takes an intricate plot and weaves in his two dimensional characters. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

I received this novel as an Advanced Reading Copy.

This book was a very good book, but I wasn't too sure at the very start of it. I really like how it is more in-depth with the various characters than you find in a normal romance. In that respect, it was more like a general fiction novel. In fact the least believable aspect of this novel is the primary romance. You really don't see enough of the main characters together to justify the depths of their feelings and how quickly their relationship develops. It feels forced and awkward. Sid feels flat and underdeveloped. There is one line in there where Evey mention that they don't just make out, they spend a lot of time talking about everything under the sun. The relationship is not developed. Most of the novel is about her relationships with the other people around her and how they influence her in her romance with Sid.

On a side note, based on the description of Sid, I don't find the cover art appropriate or believable for this novel. I also felt the title made no sense.

This book was an emotional roller coaster. I laughed and I cried. Well written story with so many surprises. Evelyn (Evi) was in so much inner turmoil and conflict. She had concerns and conflict with her father, her ex boyfriend who jilted her and her growing attraction for Sid. She worked with her father on the charter cruise ship they owned and Sid was scouting it out for his wealthy family. No spoiler here, but this is a great book that was lots of fun to read. It needs some editing, but I read it as an advance reader copy and they're not supposed to be perfect. I voluntarily chose to review this book.

Evelyn was dump 8 months ago by Kyle, and, her father just hires him and his new girlfriend for a cruise for a rich Indian billionaire family, with her on board. She falls in love with Sid, the rich son of an indian doctor who want him to choose a futur bride in her selection. (even if sid is completely attract to Evelyn. ) : At the end of the cruise he has to be engage.
Some parts in the author’s style are really slow but it’s a good sweet book .

I would have to give this book a 2 out of 5 star rating. The reason for that being, that this book is way far different from others I have read because of the story it tells and how it was written. The author wasn't bad it was just not my type of romance story. Although I did like the last chapter because Evey's (the female main character) dad wrote her a letter just in case he died, which he did and once I read that letter I cried. It was very emotional. That is all I have to say in respect to the book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book...

This was an okay read for me. The title of the book didn't fit with the storyline. The plot was okay. The story-line a little choppy. How can a father treat his daughter that way? What was he thinking? I loved how the story came together at the end though it was a little sad there for a minute.
