Hello folks, My name is Solomon Carter, and I am the author of the Roberts and Bradley PI crime thriller series, The Last Line international thriller series, the DI Hogarth Darkest series and more. I write mysteries, crime and thriller novels and more besides.
I was born in Southend, Essex and lived there for most of my life apart from eventful student days in South London. But my life in Southend was even more eventful still. I ended up working in a string of jobs including as a jobcentre clerk, a book seller, tutor for youth with low skills and low self esteem, mortgage broker, and latterly manager of a food bank which dealt with all kinds of interesting people facing all kinds of eye-opening, jaw dropping problems. Because of these ear-to-the-ground jobs the majority of my novels are set in Southend. In 2016 I moved to North Cornwall because I liked the idea of never-ending holidays - but I also write almost every single day. My aim is to write action-packed thrillers and page-turning mysteries that readers love and my hope is to get better at what I do with every book across each and every year.
I like to give away lots of free books as part of what I do. If you would like to receive some of these and get the exclusives on offer, than you're invited to join my free readers group at SolomonCarter.net. I won't spam you, just send the occassional email with news on the latest books and forthcoming freebies.

What I am good at: telling stories What I am bad at: dancing, being patient. What I love: nature, the seaside, adventures Writers I heartily recommend: Lee Child, Ian Rankin, Henning Mankell, Val McDermid, Harlan Coben, Robert Crais. Writers I need to read more of: Val McDermid, Ian Rankin, Michael Connelly and others. Other things I do beside writing: at present I like to keep my running going to balance out the sitting behind a laptop (a habit inspired by Haruki Murakami's 'What I talk about when I talk about running' - a great book). -I am currently doing surf lessons. When in Rome, as they say... -Getting out into nature as the weather allows.
I look forward to hearing from you. Until then I'll keep on writing. Or running. Or surfing. Or chasing my children around the house.
All the very best, Solomon :)
PS if you have enjoyed any of my books, I'd be honoured if you could post a review. Those reviews really do help!
As a rule I'm not a fan of English mysteries because I find the too slow moving for my taste and as a rule they lack the intense, edge of your seat action that I crave but Wages of Sin by Solomon Carter was an exception to the rule. The Private Investigator Crime Thriller Series kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the pages. All the main characters in these books were people you could identify with and like and in some cases even love. Solomon Carter is a master of the mystery/thriller genre and I look forward to reading more of his work. I have already downloaded six more of his books and book sets to my Kindle. If you love a good mystery, then you need to read Solomon Carter.
Three books, three cliffhangers, no resolutions. Carter had three interesting plot lines for standalone novels. Instead of completing the books, he tried to link them, but forgot about the links as the individual stories progressed. By the third story, the character who had been the first link was missing in action. In addition, we have characters with no depth. The reader would be better served if Carter had worked to build characters who have personalities, individual traits, and something to make them interesting. I won’t be reading any more of the series.
What a fun bunch of reading dan and eva are a couple of interesting characters which keep the stories begging you to read on and see what their next move will be their friendship with Dawson is always present but constantly being strained as they all strive for the truth thank you Mr Carter i thoroughly enjoyed the read and look forward to reading more of dan and eva's adventures
Due to eye issues Alexa reads to me, three very very will written different romantic, thriller, mystery novels that are the beginning to three series. The characters are interesting and will developed. The story lines are each different, complicated, fast moving, and violent racing to the conclusions. I would recommend this box 📦set to readers of mysteries. Enjoy reading 🔰2021 👑👔👗
Roberts and Bradley follow Cases in Southend causing fear in the guilty and consternation in the Nick
A very good PI series featuring Eva and Dan. Eva, analytical and patient, tries to moderate her impetuous partner and ex boxer Dan. Dan is the kick-in-the-door kind of guy who doesn’t sweat the small stuff like trespassing and assault.
I gave this set a 3 of 5 not that it was bad, the stories were pretty good but sometimes I felt like there was a bit too much 'fluff' surrounding the story. Eva & Dan were great characters, following a bit of their stories made me feel like I knew them. Dawson is a bit of a hothead but I feel like he's a bit of a softy too!
These are the first books of three different series with the same characters, which makes it even more annoying as things change in the relationships in the missing books
One must remember these are not a form of reality, but stories meant to entertain. The reality of the investigations are a stretch. Not similar to actual police , or private investigation, and the cooperation of the between the two would be unlikely.
These are good crime thrillers, decent plot, like the Southend setting. Do be aware each individual book is part of a bigger trilogy, so this is very much a taster set.
