Elemental Dragons #2

The Dragon's Lover

Rate this book
She already had a mate... why couldn't she take her eyes off this man?

Perhaps the mate bond didn't affect her as it did her aunt. At least, that's what she figured when the life long passion she was promised, suddenly fizzled out a few months after the bond formed. Maybe she was broken? She didn't know. Nonetheless, she was mated, why did this dragon man intrigue her so much?

When he first spotted Quinn, Isaac knew something was strange. He could tell by the hunger in her eyes that she wanted him as badly as he wanted her. But no matter how much his dragon begged, he couldn't have her. He wouldn't dare fiddle with her existing mate bond. No self-respecting dragon would. But he couldn't just let this woman steal his heart, could he?

This is book 2 in the Elemental Dragons series. A spin off of Emilia's Fated Dragons series, however it can be read as a standalone.

Warning: This series contains lots of sexy shifter action, irresistible mates and steamy love scenes. Tons of mouth watering Paranormal Romance bonus content included!

The Dragon's Lover
Emilia Hartley

Quinn feels as if she is broken. Her fated mate Kenji says with time she will feel the fated bonds they made to each other. But she's really not feeling it especially when she meets a new dragon called Issac. He sets her blood on fire and from the heat in his eyes she can tell that he wants her just as much. But with the bonds already established how will she be able to explore these new feelings she has for another dragon shifter. On top of the GOE still after them and trying to destroy what family she has left.

The Dragon’s Lover
Book 2 of the Elemental Dragon’s series. Human Quinn wants to assist her dragon family find a new place to live where they will be safe from the GEO. She and her believed mate Kenji seek the assistance of the American Territories dragons where she meets Isaac. She’s always questioned her bond with Kenji and now she knows what a real mating bond feels like. In efforts to help save some captured dragons from GEO, Isaac and Quinn team up. This strengthens their bond and shows them that they truly were fated. The good; I liked both these main characters, they were interesting and complex. The scenes at the bar and while they were hiding from her pack looking for them I felt were descriptive and interesting. Same with the fight scenes. The frustrating; this book left me with a lot of questions of “why?”. Possibly because it is book 2 in the series and I’ve not read the first. The preview stated it could be read as a stand-alone, but not well. Second, (spoiler alert) I felt that the mission to save the other dragons was pointless. I never completely understood why it was so important to Quinn to save them and when they find them, sadly Ruby ends up killed and Casper deceived them, so again I found it a somewhat anticlimactic. What’s the point of being hero’s if you don’t have a hero event. I also thought, that if Isaac’s element is electricity and the storms search for him, why couldn’t he use the electricity in the storms? it didn’t have to be bad. Finally, I felt like complete conversations or sub-stories of the book were completely glanced over. Like how did we jump to Quinn going under cover. Hopefully that’ll be explained in the next story. I rate this story 3.5 Hearts.

After her mother died Quinn went to live with her aunt that was mated to a dragon shifter. She loved her family fiercely and was willing to do all in her power to protect them from the Cruel GOE (Guardians of Existence). That present a helpful face to the world but are trying to snuff dragon shifters out of existence. Using innuendos and have truths to propagandize that they are nothing more than vicious dangerous animals to be put down. Kenji told her they are fated mates when they slept together, but Quinn is not so sure. She knows Kenji loves her, but when she goes with him to meet the American Dragon Clan and lays eyes on Isaac she feels things no one mated to another dragon should. Isaac knows she should be his mate but believes she is already mated to another.

Add to this that the GOE is back up to their old tricks and you have a book filled with powerful characters, a strong plot and plenty of suspenseful scenes. From the first page to the last you will find yourself on a rollercoaster ride you will not want to end. This is a great new series from a very talented author and the series takes up where the Fated Dragon series left off. You will know laughter, tears and anger as you read The Dragon's Lover, but you will never forget Quinn and Isaac's story. I look forward to more of these exciting Elemental Dragon's in the future. Check out Luc and Anya in The Dragon's Mate, book one in this series.

My rating of "The Dragon's Lover - Elemental Dragons Book 2" is 4.75 out of 5 stars.

I voluntarily read this Advanced Reader Copy of this book authored by Emilia Hartley. It picks up ... almost ... from where Book #! leaves off, and we find Dane and Isaac meeting with the family of dragons in hiding from the GOE. Seems they are also hiding from family that were left behind once they were captured. However, these dragons believe they've been the only ones to suffer from the hand of the GOE. Isaac tries to show Quinn just how wrong that thinking is. His dragon can see her as his mate, but he is given to believe she is already mated. This story has a rocky beginning all the way around. The question is....how do the GOE keep finding them? You'll find your share of angst, betrayal, love, and acceptance while still facing loss.

I really enjoyed this read as it doesn't follow the standard for the dragon stories out there. And, Isaac is finding a bit more that may be part of a past he doesn't remember. You'll want to read the series, but it can be read as a standalone. Kudos to Hartley for her imaginative writing skills.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*

I liked this. Quinn was pretty likable, and Isaac's this cool dragon with a complicated past. I was pretty sold on the American dragons in the spin-off series, so seeing the series continue with one of their own and a totally different heroine made things interesting. This picks up on the huge surprise in book 1, and the mystery of it was one of the things that kept me turning the pages. A few things were a bit off for me personally, mainly the way some characters were executed. One was supposed to be Alpha potential but didn't come off that way, and with this writing style, if you're not catching the hints, the comments and monologues will seem confusing. A few things were repetitive, but I seriously loved it when Issac stood up for his family (so cool) and I did like the funny and heated moments. Just overall pretty entertaining for those who love dragons and mysteries to solve.

Quinn and Isaac

Nice short story. It is continuing along about the dragons that were abused by the GOE. Quinn is a human member of the family that contains Luc and Marc's parents. Her aunt mated one of the abused escapees. Ken, who has been her friend since they were little, told her they were mates. Quinn didn't feel anything except friendship for him but thought that the bond should help her to feel love. Along comes Isaac and she gets feelings for him that she ought to feel for Ken. Isaac's dragon says that she is their mate, but he can't act on it because he thinks she is already mated.
There is lies and betrayals in this story along with death and heartbreak. The GEO is involved with more kidnappings. The Embassy dragons also find out that children were experimented on in order to make them into weapons for GOE.

The Dragon's Lover is book 2 of Emilia Hartley's Elemental Dragons series. While it says it can be read as a standalone I recommend reading the books in order. I have this book 3 stars because there isn't enough back story given to keep you from feeling lost, which is why I recommend reading them in order. The story is on going from book to book like all series but there's so much going on in the plot line that there needed to be more rehashing of the past books or a prologue for anyone new to the series. Even after finishing the book I still feel like there is so much that needs explaining. I hope this helps readers and that the author will give more background in the books to come. I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest voluntary review.

The title book was only 10% of the book... It was a great book don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it.. it had action, romance... It answered some of the questions that was asked in book one.. then went and asked more questions.. Quinn was a well written character who was a strong woman and knew she could count on herself in any situation... Isaac we met from book one.. in my opinion they make a great couple... They complete each other...

This book contains bouns books that Emilia Harley wrote.. I have had the pleasure of reading ALL of them.. and I LOVED them...

Three for the Price of One

Once again, I found myself in the situation of reading three great stories under the guise of one book. From dragons to bears to a a recurring theme in a family line, these stories held my interest. Usually, I find that one story hols attention while the others do not. This time, I was entranced with all three. The author has been able to weave a strong storyline for three entirety different settings and characters to hold the reader's attention throughout all three stories.
This is one book that I am able to highly recommend to anyone who has an interest in this the of stories.

I enjoy this paranormal romance series about dragon shifters and recommend you read all the books. They do continue previous storylines so it is best to read them in order.

They have great chemistry from the beginning and really struggle with figuring out why they feel like they belong together. Dragon shifters only have one mate. Isaac is someone who has been thru a lot in his past and you really want him to get his chance at love. Quinn struggles with her emotions but wants to do what is needed to protect the dragons she cares about so much. It is well written and has a great mix of action and romance.

After being raised with dragons, Quinn has always felt like the odd woman out. Isaac knows nothing of his past and is unsure of what he is capable of. One look is all is takes, but another claims she is his mate. Will Quinn discover the truth behind who really is her mate? Will Isaac and Quinn be able to work together to discover who is against them?

Just like the other dragon books by Emilia Hartley, this was a great read. After learning of Isaac's unknown past, he was honestly a complete sweetheart. Loved Quinn's determination to right the wrongs done to the dragons! Cannot wait to read more in this series!

Isaac and Quinn's story is the continuation of the dragon's stories of run ins with the GOE . A government entity tasking themselves with the eradication of all dragons , everywhere, whether they were good, bad , adult or child, this agency wanted to grind the dragons to dust . Quinn and Isaac both had a stake in that not happening. This is a twist up of their love story and running from the GOE, as well as finding out their is a traitor in their midst. 4⭐'s . I received a gifted copy of the book and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.

Really enjoyed!

This is the first book I have read by this author, while I was given the opportunity to read for review, I also chose to purchase and will continue to purchase her work. I came into this story without the backstory and while it would have clarified the details a bit it is not necessarily needed to enjoy this book, it does read as a nice standalone or start of a new series, which is what I am hoping for. The book is well written, the storyline is free flowing with great action. Nice chemistry between the couple. I highly recommend this story!

Great addition to the spin off series that follows the American dragon shifters. She always wished she could be a dragon, but settles with being a human with a fast motorcycle. The minute he sees her he feels a deep attraction. But she is the mate to another dragon so he must keep his distance. But things never seem to be peaceful and things will change for all.

Another exciting action pack addition to the series. And the tension between the two will heat things up. Highly suggest this series for all paranormal romance readers.

Hmmmmmm....I liked these two. I like how the world stopped when their eyes met. I like how even though she was told she was already a mate to someone else, that she knew something was wrong and when seeing Isaac that there was something there. I liked her fight and her passion to help the dragons. Isaac was just adorable. I felt so bad for him with his elemental gift. It caused his such grief and gave him a lot of guilt. Kenji....I just wanted to punch in the balls for pretty much the whole book. He is on my shit list.

Storms are a brewing and it’s not going to be easy for the star couple in this book. Isaac and Quinn are the main characters but Ken also plays a big role in this book.
Quinn grew up with dragons 🐉 and was supposedly the mate of Ken.
Isaac is a modified dragon from GOE who has gone to meet with the other dragons but he draws storms towards him and things go wrong but they also go right in a different way. But you’ll have to read or listen to this book to find out more. A few great twists to be had in this book.

Intrigue, betrayal, hope and love make this a great dragon shifter story. I loved the way Isaac & Quinn worked so hard to help her family survive the situation with the G.O.E. This is a great series, I look forward to reading the next one. I would recommend this to all shifter lovers.

I liked where the book was headed. There was a lot of promise with this story but I feel like it fell short on a few points. Overall, however, the book was enjoyable and the feels were relatively strong. It made me interested in the series as well as other books by this author.

Quinn had the potential to be a really strong character. She has the past, the excitement, the strength, the wit, the intelligence, and the beauty both inside and out to be a really well-rounded character. Where that fell short was in how much drama was packed into a relatively short book. There was too much going on and not enough focus to let her strengths really shine. Instead, she came off as being a bit flighty, unfocused, and overwhelmed by the emotions that came at her from virtually every direction. Being overwhelmed is understandable, I just feel like we read her as being constantly overwhelmed instead of level-headed, a trait we're made to think she has in the beginning.

Isaac had a great start too. He was passionate and interesting. The rest of the story didn't really do him justice though. We were also teased with learning more about his past but get no follow through there. Will there be more of him in the next book, even obliquely?

There could have been a great deal more of them together actually building something and establishing a connection and a foundation. What we were given was a bit superficial and then there's a ton of drama from many sources, and then the ending is hopeful and a little bit romantic. The story itself could use a lot of paring down and refining to make the events cohesive and the romance one that connects both characters and you as a the reader. 2.5 stars.

I read this book straight through in a several hour span. I loved Issac and Quinn and their aborted attempts to "get together". Quinn is a human women who was raised with dragons and was told by one that she was his mate. She couldn't understand why she didn't feel like Kenji's (Ken's) mate. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't feel anything but friendship for her childhood companion. When she travels with Ken to meet with the dragons of the American territory she immediately notices Issac and likes what she sees.

Issac has joined Dane to help decrypt files pertaining to how the dragons have been experimented on and tortured by GOE. Ken and Quinn are representing the previously hidden dragons who escaped GOE facilities. Quinn is introduced by Ken as his mate, so Issac doesn't understand why he is drawn to her. Speaking of drawing things, storms have always been drawn to Issac and that will play a part in the story.

Many things will happen before the story ends that will continue the story in future books. I was given an ARC of this book. My review is voluntary.

Ohhh Ms. Emilia has a total elemental hit series here. Phenomenal!
Quinley Jenkins aka: Quinn is human, a latent dragon, also a Investigative Journalist. Right now she wants to help the dragons who survived the GOE ( Guardians of Existence). The GOE facility took Dragon Shifters and experimented on them some where cut up, left to heal then cut up again, some their brains were messed with and then they started taking children. They needed and would shut down the GOE. Quinn and her mate, Ken flew to the American Dragon Shifters Territory for some help encrypting something. But Quinn found something else when she went there  Now she has questions after all she's not a shifter so if Ken said he's her mate then he is or is he?
Because of Isaac's element he became a tech nerd. He had too his element would destroy and he had to fix whatever it was, so he was like a sponge he read and soaked up everything, so then he could fix everything. But Isaac's biggest problem was the blonde with the green and blue hair who had a mate. How could he be attracted to her? It was so hard not to watch her, he was very attracted to her, he wanted her. Now what?
