Rate this book
Looking at a decade's worth of chronic pain, a promise from God helped Joanne stand firm until He ultimately heals her.

Minute by Minute recounts the reality of consciously choosing to trust God in the midst of raw agony. Just when it seems that hope has vanished, God sweeps in and supernaturally heals Joanne in a moment. Her story is one of faith, hope, and triumphant victory over death.

Once a trained athlete in peak condition, Joanne Moody suffered a post-pregnancy injury that sidelined her for the next 14 years. Not one to give up easily, Joanne fought to find an answer to her pain year after year. Countless doctors attempted to treat her until finally one recommended a surgeon in France. Joanne and her sisters make the trek only to stare death in the face. At the moment of her greatest pain, God reached down and gave her a promise. Minute by Minute will keep you turning the pages as you join Joanne on her journey through a valley of pain and her eventual arrival at the pinnacle of faith and love.

I could not put this book down. I had already heard Joanne Moody's testimony at a conference but hearing the whole story was amazing. What an incredible story of God's relentless love and power, the power of intimacy with the Holy Spirt, the authority of the believer and God's willingness to heal and set free!

This book is a must read. It will shift your perspective on who God is, what He can do, and what He always desires to do. I recommend this to all.

Joann's life story reveals how incredibly beautiful the love of God is in the midst of the deepest darkness anyone could ever face. After reading this book, any person will undoubtedly know the reality of God's love piercing through the coldest loneliest places. From fame to misfortune, from greatness to humbling humility, from suspense to tears, any reader is sure to be gripped by each page of truth written in this book. Joanne's sweet honesty, authenticity of personality, and sarcastic humor bring this book to life while revealing her compassion and deep love for everyone. Her story is one of the greatest testimonies revealing that God can turn anything around for good in a matter of moments. I now truly believe that all it takes is one moment in time for God to show anyone the truth in who He is; that His desire has invariably been for everyone on earth know that He is always for them and never against them, that His desire is for everyone to walk in freedom and liberty without bondage, and that whatever He does reveals His true loving nature.

A Very Moving Story

After hearing her story on tv, and having had a similar experience, it seemed I had no choice but to read this book. After our last baby was born and I was back at home, I experienced a lot of hemorraging in the bathroom. While I was passed out on the bathroom floor, I remember looking at myself from the ceiling and then entering a dark tunnel with a very bright light at the end. That turned out to be a place where there were lots of people and I could feel the love there. Two men were discussing my status and I got very upset that I had to stay there because of my new baby, the other two daughters and my husband. I told them they had to send me back. One man told the other man I was not ready yet and to send me back. Then I woke up on the bathroom floor. I did not experience the long term pain that Ms. Moody did, but the out of body experience was certainly there.
Excellent book from the beginning to the end about faith in God and His awesome power.

A friend sent this book to me in the mail because she said many of my descriptions of being stuck on the floor in pain with sciatica mirrored many of the descriptions from this book. And it’s true!

This author grieves having to give up so many social situations because she has to lie on the floor, she is frustrated with having to eat all of her meals on the floor, and she has the same experience as me riding in the backseat of the car horizontally and missing out on the sights. Her problem also stems largely from nerve pain, and some of her descriptions were unfortunately familiar to me.

I sped through this book in two sittings because it was brutal to read her account of pain, and I knew it ended in a healing so I was eager to get there. One of the things I love about God is that He never writes the same story twice, and it is always fun to hear the different ways people get healed.

This book was an easy read in one sense - I breezed through it it one day. This biography is about Mrs. Moody's years of traumatic pain after giving birth and then God's healing of her are very interesting.

However, on the other hand, it is a very difficult book to read. The author's details of her extreme pain and all she suffered are heartbreaking. The horrific treatment she received by French doctors when she was told they were the only ones who could possibly treat her problem is nothing short of barbaric and torturous.

In my estimation, this book would be helped if there was a follow-up that covered more of the author's spiritual life during her years before her healing. So many people live with chronic pain, sickness, and disease, just as she did. What can she offer them from those years in her suffering?

Amazing grace! If you desire to comprehend the matchless love of God, Joanne's story will open your heart to the incomparable grace of Christ! Her story has humbled me and encouraged me to open my heart wider and share God's love with others. Most of all this book will take you from religion to finding your true identity in Christ! Our God truly is an awesome God! I can't wait to see what He wants to do in my life! His word for me is complete restoration! Thanks, Joanne for sharing your story with me and countless others! Your story is life-changing!

I tried putting this book down but kept picking it up during a flight to and from England. Thank God I completed it! I will never be the same again!

Difficult to read. Focus was on pain not The Healer

Joanne has a beautiful testimony! Powerful! I was considering this book for a group of women to learn from but the focus of this book is on pain not healing. The endless and ongoing pain she experience which makes up 80% of the book actually stirred up fear and was depressing. The healing written here was such a short portion of this book. Would love the pain experienced condensed into a chapter or two without all the graphic horrifying details and then the majority of the book on her story of healing AND what came next. The stories of healing for praying for others.

Wow! What an amazing story and blessing from God! I am so glad that she was healed! I feel so bad about all the pain and suffering she went through. My only hope is that my husband can be healed as well. He lives with debilitating chronic pain as well and I pray for him daily to be healed. I think we need to go to a healing conference like the one in this book. Maybe he has a chance to be healed as well!

Quite a story! A great reminder of how some people suffer so much for so long, but the ending is worth reading through the years of pain and surgeries. I won't say what happens, but the title alludes to it. :)
