I dont know why most wuxia novels are above 2k or 3k chapters. It took me the whole week to read up to the last update, sourcing from wattpad to wuxia webnovel then ended with mtl version for the rest of the chapters. And let me tell you, the mtl version really sucks and confusing. I have to re-translate it to hanyu pinyin some of the words in order to understand better. However, no matter what, I'm still grateful. 😂😂😂
Earlier chapters were quite slow but it began to pick up once the transmigration process done. From being a wastrel to a powerhouse human creating a powerhouse team and army with non stop action.
I like how their journey began with five friends and encompassed it to her whole family then added on to others. Their bonds were formed right from the lower continent, then moved on to middle before they proceeded to the higher region where whomever born from that 3rd continent started with super strength compared to those of lower continents. But because of these, they have already built their mental and spiritual strength full force. Even their battle combat were better than those born above. They are just an awesomely bunch of hardworking people practising healthy jealousy, utterly courageous and helpful towards building one weakness and strength. And are vocal about it.
However, at certain point in this book, all these friends had less of an appearance except for You Yue leaving me with a sense of lost and belonging. I simply love their friendship bond together with their beast while they journey to the 3rd continent as I felt that they performed better together. They are the real team.

It's more of a revenge novel with the help of those around the MC. How they struggled to be where they are then at the end of the day the MC realised that she was just on borrowed time to solve the Primordial lands problems among the prominent sect and was thrown back to the starting point living happily ever after with her husband with no power and strength any longer. But her beast are still with her remaining as family.

Among the 3 continents, the one that I really like the most was their adventure on the lower continents. From exile land to Yilin. Full of laughter, adventure and lots of gains even thru hardship and for few of them managed to avenge their hatred towards those who did them injustice. Middle continent was just setting foothole for her Sima family and the 3rd continents where her status really changed. For the 1st part, it was okay but after that You Yue got separated from her friends and embarked on solo journey most of the time. It gets quite lonely even with new people join her group.
I think after 2.3k chapters later, it's about her children. However, all is not lost. She's always around. So I'm not going to continue reading as what I wanted to read is purely about her journey. I just wonder will she be able to regain her strength and able to cultivate later on. Maybe she did but because it was MTL version, I get confused most of the time. Overall, a good read if only u can forgo the error in name switch and calculation of years and items that they gained or traded.

It’s a good female protagonist Chinese novel. The MC goes from modern day transmigration to cultivation trash to a strong overpowered woman in charge. Close personal relationships drive the theme compared to male protagonist cultivation novels where the male MC fights mostly alone or with a master or sidekick to get stronger.
The characters are varied with many new characters added throughout that enhance the plot line in her travel locations. There are plenty of cuddly contract beasts with various expertise and genius junior cultivators to add to the mix. Romance with the significant other is thinly spread and suitable for teen readers. Worth reading once. 4/5

I expected some romance happening here!! But where the hell is the guy?! Honestly, cultivation/magical beast themed isn’t my favorite as long as there are good plots/romance LOL.. Everything in here is just too slow!!

If you are not familiar with this genre do not read this novel. It is a by the numbers genre piece with no real traces of originality or innovation. That's not really a problem though, genre pieces sell well and people enjoy them for a reason. Even an unoriginal genre piece could hit the level of "It was ok". What kills this one is:
Sexism - Sadly fairly commonplace in Chinese webnovels. But it's particularly grating here when the main character is a) female and b) reincarnated from the modern world. If it was just the society and the protagonist raged against it it would be fine but she frequently buys into. You can throw in gender normative societal roles here as well
Homophobia - Again sadly common in Chinese webnovels. Given that the MC dresses as a man for the first half of the novel its even more prevalent in this one than others.
Outdated societal values - Not the snappiest title, but you can throw in all the usual guff about slavish devotion to elders, the family and the state here. Through in the usual ableist nonsense as well.
Creepy romance - Thousand of year old male lead in love with a mentally much younger and physically teenage girl. Even though the MC is ridiculously OP he as a male is of course more powerful, more skilled, dominant in initiating romance, etc, etc.
Lack of character consistency - This is honestly the thing that really killed it for me. In one story arc the MC swore vengeance on an enemy that killed literally millions. The next story arc shes hanging out and laughing with him because hes family. The MC swears vengeance because her family including innocent women and children were killed. The MC goes on to kill innocent women and children even though at that point they could never be a threat to her and in setting you can force people to swear a binding oath to the heavens not to do X which will kill them if violated. There are loads of examples like this. While the other problems are worse they also dont appear all the time in the 2.5K chapters that make up the novel. Not so with this. Its everywhere.
Translation Quality - The other big problem. It's somewhere between sub-par and unreadable. Its genuinely shameful that Webnovel charged money for it. Apart from the broken nonsense English the numbers are never translated consistently. In one chapter the population of a city went from 1000 to 10000 to 100000 to 1 million and flip flopped back and forth. Characters frequently end up talking to themselves in the style of "Tom said "Hello" to Tom".
Continuity Errors - The author cant keep stuff straight, in one chapter the MC's familiar will evolve so it can talk. Three chapters later it cant talk again. The MC will be at cultivation level X in one chapter and then only reach that level in the next story arc.
What is good about it? The mystery of the MC's reincarnation felt vaguely novel though sadly got ignored. The supporting cast remained unusually consistent...but often got ignored. The humour in it was often pretty good. The world setup was sort of interesting.
At the risk of repeating myself, it was an average novel dragged down by the problems outlined above

Really long since the web serialization kind of dragged on but it was a fun journey. Starts out really good since it’s like female MC but in the style of OP protagonist who tries to be low-key which is usually male MC. E.g. like library of heaven’s path but Sima You Yue doesn’t really take in disciples. Her various beasts each have their own personalities and it’s really fun to have them around.
It’s not exactly really deep in terms of plot or literature since there’s a lot of deus ex machina reveals about the MC which makes her OP again, but the standard formula of dopamine hits due to shocking people is there and varied enough to be interesting. Some interactions between characters are quite funny but it’s not primarily focused on jokes.
Translation quality gets worse and worse as the story drags on but still ended up finishing it due to previous investment. It does end up going into a save the world / focusing on heaven’s dao kind of plot-line at the end. Female MC has various men in the story simping for her and chooses the one who is mysterious, OP, cool, ice cold to others but warm and caring towards her.
