Enter an award-winning urban fantasy world where monsters roam the streets and things aren't always what they seem.

Ivy Granger Psychic Detective box set includes Books 1-3 and Bonus Prequel short story.

FROSTBITE (Bonus Prequel: Ivy Granger #0.5)

Everyone knows that there's no such thing as ghosts, but when a client claims that her house is being haunted, Ivy tries to keep her mind open and her weapons handy. If her psychic gifts and recent cases have taught her anything, it's that you're better off arming yourself for the unexpected.

Anything is possible in Harborsmouth.

SHADOW SIGHT (Ivy Granger #1)

Ivy Granger's second sight is finally giving her life purpose. Ivy and her best friend Jinx may not be raking in the dough, but their psychic detective agency pays the bills--most of the time. Their only worry is the boredom of a slow day and the occasional crazy client--until a demon walks through their door.

Demons are never a good sign.

GHOST LIGHT (Ivy Granger #2)

Ivy Granger is back, gathering clues in the darkest shadows of downtown Harborsmouth. With the lives of multiple clients on the line, she's in a race against time. Ivy finally has a lead to the whereabouts of the one person who can help her control her wisp abilities, but will she put the needs of her clients above her own?

If Ivy doesn't find a solution soon, she could wind up a ghost herself.

BURNING BRIGHT (Ivy Granger #3)

Things are not going well at the offices of Private Eye. Jinx is having demon problems, the city is overrun with pyromaniacal imps, and Ivy's wisp powers are burning out of control, attracting the attention of both the Seelie and Unseelie courts. It's the worst possible time for the Green Lady to call in a favor, but Ivy's bound by her deal with the glaistig. Too bad there's no wiggle room in faerie bargains.

Ivy must rid the city of imps, keep Jinx from murdering her one solid link to Hell, and fulfill her bargain with the Green Lady--with sidhe assassins hot on her tail.

Just another day's work for Ivy Granger, psychic detective.

Ivy Granger Psychic Detective Box Set (Ivy Granger #0.5, 1–3) by E.J. Stevens is a good fantasy box set. Ivy is half fae, and a princess but didn't find out until later in life when her powers started developing and she started glowing! Into this strange world are far of various kinds, her kelpie boyfriend, witches, vampires, brownies, trolls, demons, and so many more! Terrific cast of characters and many layers of plots going on. A fun world to get lost in!

When box set are a great deal and even better offer you bonus it's always a good news. In this one we get the prequel ( a listing of the terms ( believe me it can be useful) and book 1 to 3 so yes not all teh novella are included but it's still a very great offer especially if you are new to the series.

I've ( or will) reviewed each book here and on my blog so if you want more details don't hesitate to have a look on each one individually but i still wanted to give you here a few words on each.

Frostbite: really good, creepy perfect around halloween time. We discover a bit of Ivy and we see some of her limits as well. Fast paced it's read very quickly. Can be read first or after book 1

Shadow Sight: A very enjoyable adventure! Ivy is a character you come to like easily, she is stubborn, loyal , kind hearted but also very determined and has a warrior spirit despite being too naive at time.
I really spent a good time reading this book despite some elements not being too surprising or original.

Ghost Light: when the investigation really starts it's really an interesting one and we can see how the path Ivy is taking will be difficult. We learn more about her father and she is starting to remember her past with him better as well , she also dares to look into it. I really appreciated how she was maturing and trying to protect her friends and her lover ( that part was quite sweet)...now it ends with a cliffhanger not hard but still it angered me a little -thankfully with this set you don't have to wait)
it was my least favourite so far because of some repetition but if you can read the novella, not included in this set "Blood and Mistletoes" novella 1,5 it makes this book even better.

Burning Bright: to come

Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective, is a fantastic - and fantastically addictive - series. This is the perfect boxset for anyone new to these stories as they’re so addictive that it’s pretty much guaranteed that on finishing one there will be a strong compulsion to turn right to the next one. That being the case, saving a bit of change doing so only Mages sense.

Here’s my review of each of the books in the set.

Shadow Sight (Book 1)

I came across this book in one of those freebie sites. It seemed interesting enough so I downloaded it. Silly me. This is not even remotely harmless. EJ Stevens Ivy Granger stories are a major addictive substance. I should have been warned by the cover blurb's reference to "action, paranormal mystery, magic, dark humor, quirky characters, bloodsucking vampires, flirtatious demons, sarcastic gargoyles, sexy shifters, temperamental witches, psychotic faeries, and snarky, kick-butt heroines.". All of that is precisely down my alley (especially that last one: I adore kick-a** heroines). This blurb is totally accurate and, if it even remotely appeals to you the be warned: open at your own risk as addiction will surely follow. Highly recommended.

Ghost Light (Book 2)

"Ivy Granger is in some seriously deep trouble." Oh yeah, Mr. Kindle Blurb, what else is new? Ivy Granger is ALWAYS in seriously deep trouble. That's half the fun! Once again our fantastic kick-a** heroine is going gangbusters working for her clients, facing everything thrown at her, and still (by the way) trying to find out how to control wisp abilities and fearing that she'll soon find herself turning into a ghost...

Great, thrilling, action-full plot. Great lead and suporting characters. Great world created by the author for them to interact in. Great writing by said author (as expected of EJ Stevens, but still counts). Gotta conclude: Great book. (Or, as Tony-the-Tiger used to say: "it's Grrrreeeaat!")
Oh, and of course: Great-ly recommended!

Burning Bright (Book 3)

"Just another day's work for Ivy Granger, psychic detective."

Scarier words have not been read. Unless you think ridding a city of pyromaniacal imps, keeping your one link to Hell from being killed as you need some way to stop your wisp powers are burning out of control, worrying about your sick human bestie, dealing with a city's Master Vampire calling in a debt and having to do a job for the Green Lady (even though doing that means killing someone that's been helping your bestie), with sidhe assassins out to hunt you down, even though you'd been trying to avoid the attention of both the Seelie and Unseelie courts, are nothing but minor bothers. Whew. I exhausted myself just typing all that. At least she has her budding romance with Ceffyl Dwr to keep her going. I mean what sort of issues could ever trouble a fae/human mix (Ivy) and a kelpie (Ceff), right?

Somehow Ivy and her fantastic oddball gang of friends and supporters deal with everything, with thrills, adventure action, snarky humor, a touch of romance and lots of unexpected twists and turns ensuing.

EJ Stevens knows how to create great plots, wonderful characters and fantastic worlds and that's definitely done here. Ivy is on the top of my list of favorite kick-a** heroines. It's a wild ride following her in action, and a pure shot of adrenaline filled fun. Highly recommended.

Frostbite (Bonus Story)

This is bonus short story in which Ivy and he partner Jinx help a lady who lives in a haunted house. It’s a fun Bonus and fits in well after book 1 (even though I actually read it last), and it gives a bit more of a feel for Harborsmouth.

Fun, action packed read. The short story bonus was a bit abrupt for me, but the 3 full stories were satisfying. I’d prefer a bit stronger editing with less repetition - had thought this was a Kindle Unlimited book and the author was trying to extend the page length (KU paid by pages) but not so. Within one story, no reason for the main character to visit the whys and wherefors so much. It was distracting, but not enough to turn me off this author for good.

FROSTBITE (Bonus Prequel: Ivy Granger #0.5)

A wonderful start to the box set finds Ivy and Jinx investigating claims of a haunted house. What they find is far more terrifying. I enjoyed this short story when I read it in the Tales from Harborsmouth short story collection.

SHADOW SIGHT (Ivy Granger #1)

Partial Review:

Shadow Sight is Book 1 in the Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective series by E. J. Stevens.

Ivy and her bestie, Jinx, are great duo. Ivy is stand-offish and handles the paranormal part of the cases, whereas Jinx is the super friendly, extroverted, take no prisoners, contract negotiator - which is a good thing and Forneus had no idea what hit him. Ivy admits many times that it's a good thing Jinx takes care of that part of the business; she has the perfect attitude to make friends but is rigid enough to stand her ground and do what's in the best interest of Private Eye, Ivy, and herself.

The character development is steady and well done. We get backgrounds on how Ivy and Jinx met, who Ivy's family members were, and how Ivy figured out she had a "gift" as a kid, among other things. As the novel progresses we see Ivy develop a bit more and she learns a secret that has been kept from her through her whole life. A love interest is also introduced for one of the characters and I can't wait to see that unfold.

The descriptions given for scenes, characters, the epic battle, etc. are well done. Nothing overly descriptive to the point of boring or making the reader want to skip chunks of the page, and nothing is left lacking in description. There's enough to tell the story and still allow you to imagine it in your head ~ your way. The plot is solid and the characters are likable ~well, except the each uisage, they are not so much.

All-in-all this is great first book in a new series.

GHOST LIGHT (Ivy Granger #2)

Partial Review:

The plot lines for each book are different, yet pull from each type of paranormal group at some point or another; whether it be tips from demons, help from sidhe cats, crazy ex-wives, trolls, vamps, etc. Each has a part to play and the author does an excellent job bringing it all together. And I haven't mentioned this in the other reviews but, yeah, there's a unicorn :)

Ivy just keeps on amazing her readers. She's an introvert, mostly due to her ability to receive visions just by touching objects, yet when the town needs her the most ~ their children are missing ~ Ivy pulls up her big girl panties, removes the gloves and begins the tough job of handling whatever item the child's parent brought to her. Ivy is such a strong heroine. Her support team; Jinx, Ceff, Kaye, Hob,etc., is phenomenal. Plus she has a Hunter ally named Jenna that will come to assist in a heartbeat.

Very enjoyable series that is easy to read, understand, and follow. The good guys and gals are likable and you definitely find yourself rooting for them. The baddies are also well written and sometimes give the reader the shivers ~ which means the author did her job! :)

BURNING BRIGHT (Ivy Granger #3)

Partial Review:

Another action-packed installment of the Ivy Granger series. There are some many story lines that have the illusion of being entirely stand alone then E.J. weaves her magic and next thing you know they are entirely dependent on one another. Her ability to tell a story is amazing. Each story in the series is well developed and pulls the reader in from the very beginning. Burning Bright is very suspenseful in the "how is she going to do (insert something here) and live with herself later?" sort of way.

Ivy is written in such a way that she is still brand new; never becoming stagnant, dull, or predictable. She continues to kick butt in the name of protecting her family, friends, and townsfolk. Ivy does all of this while maintaining safe distances since she has the ability of touching objects or people and being able to discern history of said objects/people. Her relationship with Ceff, while challenging due to the whole touching issue, is progressing along nicely. Ivy manages to make friends wherever she goes, and as such ends up befriending the cutest little imp she names Sparky. Don't let this lull you into a sense of complacency since she makes just as many, if not more, enemies.

Please make sure to read the books in order since the world and character building, plotlines, subjects, and themes build off of the previous books.

I voluntarily review each and every book in the Ivy Granger series by E.J. Stevens.

All of the full reviews of these books can be found on Goodreads and Amazon.

>>> Reviewing FROSTBITE (from this set) <<<
Mrs. “Maggie” Boyd, Ivy’s new client, admired her lovely cat – except that she didn’t have one. Jinx, her business partner, raised an eyebrow in question, but let it pass. Maggie finally told them her house was haunted by multiple ghosts who moved her furniture, moaned, and groaned. Jinx suggested pookas, but since nothing had been stolen, Ivy ruled them out. Maggie said she had been losing weight and was hungry all the time since she had moved here. The previous owners had left tons of things in the house, but Maggie had no energy to start cleaning it up. Ivy was beginning to think she would have to use her gift of psychometry, touching an object to see strong emotional events of a person. It wasn’t pleasant or safe. But it worked. Ivy had the feeling this one was going to be a difficult fight.

As they passed through the gate into the rundown yard, Ivy felt a chill down her spine. Jinx fell to the ground along with Ivy who had jerked her hand away in reflex. When Ivy’s wrist connected with the grass, she identified it as dangerous “hunger grass”, which changes people in bad ways, created through magic and a catastrophic event.

Stepping inside the house, Ivy recoiled in shock at what she saw! Walls of pulsating meat, fear, blood, terror, and the nauseating stink of a slaughterhouse! As they entered the kitchen, the horrifying truth was revealed to Ivy! She was not sure she could survive the next part of what was coming!

This short story sets the tone for the Psychic Detective fantasy series. Starting with humor to lure the relaxed reader into the story, the tension builds as the reader sees the things that Ivy’s psychic abilities allow her to see – although that’s not usually a good thing. More precisely, the humor allows the reader to relax while the horror sneaks up from behind! Then the fast-paced story line quickly reveals that horror, felt very clearly due to the author’s descriptive talents! This series promises to be an edge-of-your-seat adventure you won’t (probably) want to miss! Just be glad that Ivy’s on the job!

APN Action-romance, magic, political intrigue, strong female lead.

A great character-driven escape-read with an interesting world, built slightly overlapping our own in a sea-side town and surrounding areas. All kinds of magical individuals live side by side to unknowing humans and tourists.

Ivy, with her care-taker friend do their best to solve mysteries, handle crimes and other pesky issues to insure the safety of both the magical and human community. This world is populated with all sorts of interesting characters from all walks of life, anywhere on the spectrum from crazy megalomaniacs to sometimes sweet monsters, and simpler magical creatures. Not everyone or everything is as it would appear, including secret doorways leading to even more magical realms just a shadow away, traps set by both flora and creatures to lure unsuspecting prey in for dinner. While there are dangers, it is not all gloom and doom. There is also love, beauty, kindness, and other positives to balance the scales in the Ivy-verse. This would make a great tv series, I think. There is a nice balance between quieter character moments and action-scenes to satisfy most readers.

I look forward to reading the rest of the stories set in this universe as my book-budget allows.

Here we have Ivy Granger, psychic detective. In the prequel and first book we found a wounded bird barely hanging onto life and rather introverted. Through book 1 to 3 we see a net evolution of our Heroine who flower into a badass cunning woman. It was hard to get into because the Author often gave too much details and info dump while the action was on. But it's ok, this is a surprisingly good read. I expected to find the usual female mc who pretend to be badass and get saved by a tall, dark and handsome man, but this is completely different; here the MC is trying to not be burden.

I really liked it, so I will buy the rest of the books in the series.

First Three Books

For a little bit I was beginning to wonder if I was going to like this particular immature woman. But, I think I have fallen in deep like with Ivy and the rest of her group.

Sure, Ivy has issues. But at least she learns from them. Some of the other characters in the book are relatively one dimensional because their personalities haven’t fully developed. I’m thinking they’ll develop more through the series but it’s a little bit of a frustration which is why this is at a four star as opposed to five.

First four books of the Ivy Granger Psychic Detective Series.

Frostbite involves a family who died in a house because their mother told them to stay there. Ivy moves them on to the light.

Shadow Sight is the story of how Ivy learns of gift/curse of the visions.

Ghost Light is what a Will 'o wisp is called. Just one of the many names. But Ivy has found out she is the Princess of the wisps and her life is changing.

Burning Bright is another part of Ivy's wisp abilities and something that can get her killed by the Fae Council.

Read and enjoy.

Fantastic start to a series.

The first three books AND a prequel, awesome!

Love Ivy and adore myself as a character in Jink, as I'm always falling over it ending up in trouble.

Cef is a wonderful Kelpie king.

I love all the characters that have popped up in these books, cept the Vamps *shudder*

I WILL be buying the rest of the books in the series and by the looks of it the spin offs too.

Loved it. The books were fast paced, interesting. Ivy Grager is a strong female character. There were some gaps between the stories that may be filled by other books/short stories I haven’t read yet. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
