The Story starts off with a familiar introduction to a character named Jean Louise Finch, her nickname is Scout. Jean Louise is traveling from New York City back to her hometown in Maycomb, Alabama. She is going back because of her family, she misses them and wants to be with them. She describes her aunt Alexandra as being warm, and inviting as well as her uncle Jack who cared for her like his own daughter. Back in Maycomb, Alabama she reunites with her father Atticus Finch. We see the first sign of trouble when her father acts strange.

After arriving in Maycomb, Alabama she goes to visit her childhood friend Henry Clinton. Henry Clinton used to have a crush on Scout and tried to win her over when they were little kids. Clinton lives pretty close to the house he grew up in, just a block over. Henry also works for Scout’s father Atticus.
