This book surprised me which doesn’t happen often. This was an audiobook read.

Mia is going to her sister’s wedding and doesn’t want to be on the singles table again. She’s a witch and potions are her speciality. A love potion on her crush couldn’t hurt, right?

I was thinking this was going to be really predictable as the plot unfolded but I was pleased it wasn’t heading the way I thought. This is a witch fate romance novel.

Mia is a great character and I was cheering for her towards the end.

I liked the narrator but not her male voice parts. They were a little slow and instead of seductive they didn’t do it for me. Overall it was a good performance.

I don’t read many witch books outside cozy mysteries. I’ve not heard of witches having fated mates but it worked well in this book. I have the second book in audio form and looking forward to what comes next. This is a happy ever after story worth the read/listen.

This was a great start to the Thornheart Coven series! Mia’s whole life, she’s wanted Skyler, but when her future brother in law’s best man, Felix, shows up, she starts to fall hard for him. Can a love potion bring Mia the one she truly desires (if she can even figure that out for herself)? Mia and Felix were likable characters with instant attraction and I enjoyed that the set up for her sisters were done in this book. I liked that Mia was flawed and wasn’t as sure of her magic like other witches in the story. I love when Laura writes about fated mates because it’s not really a large trope anymore. She always manages to make their stories unique with the plot and characters themselves. This book was filled with romance, humor, and mystery and left me wanting Mia’s sisters stories!
Sara did a really good job with this narration! I enjoyed her accent and the life that she gave to the story, but at times her male voices were hard to listen to.

Witch’s Potion by Laura Greenwood is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sara Woulfe.

This is the first book of Laura’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. The story is short and does end on a cliffhanger so I cannot wait to dive into the second book Witch’s Spark.

Sara did a great job on the narration. I really enjoyed her accent and thought it was perfect for Mia’s character.

Reaper - This is my first read by this author and the first word is the F-bomb! There's an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. This quickly read story moved at a decent pace and had interesting characters. I enjoyed the vivid description of Hades; a bit different from the usual location. Anima and Than are likable and had good chemistry. This is an enjoyable fantasy, not the same pattern as everyone else's; shows imagination. Needs minor editing. I found this book on Booksprout.co. 4*

Witch's Potion #1 - After enjoying Reaper, my first by Laura, I wanted to see if she could do witches. This is a fun, light-hearted, quickly read romance between a witch and dryad. The characters are likable and their conversations are interesting with their wordplay, although some of the masculine dialog sounded like a young woman would say them. The added problem of using the love potion was hilarious, along with the fact it's not THE secret, but became intriguing adding to the confusion. The writing style is makes this relaxing, entertaining read. I just wished the book was edited since the errors were distracting by sheer volume alone. I was disappointed with the ending; a sex scene after being kidnapped instead of looking for the kidnapper? I found this book on Booksprout.co. 3* (Ending and lack of edited lost stars.)

Witch's Spark #2 - I thought this would be a continuation of Witch's Potion, but it was mainly about sex, a threesome. I couldn't get into the depression felt by the couple and then adding the Banshee to the mix. She came across as a stalker, a predator. I couldn't enjoy the characters as I did in WP. The writing style wasn't the same as in WP. Disappointed there wasn't more story even though the family characters did appear here and there. There's an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. This is the last book I'll read by this author. I found this book on Booksprout.co. 2*

As a first in series, it's sets the story up with enough questions to anticipate the next books. Mia is inexplicably drawn to her next door neighbor, Skylar, and creates a love potion to give him. That is so out of character for her and even she's wondering what she's doing. However, at her sister's wedding she meets Felix, a dryad, and sparks literally fly. Thank the Goddess her love potion didn't work like it should have. We just get to meet her sisters and parents, but there is not much information about them. I loved how Felix jumped right in and became part of the intrigue. And the neighbor that didn't swoon after the love potion, Skylar? Well, he is not what he appears to be and is very, very dangerous. I still want to find out about her sisters' magic, the little girl that was kidnapped, the necklaces bequeathed to each girl when they find their mate and more about Skylar. Good beginning and it assures I will be reading the rest to find out answers to my questions. I hope there will be more about Mia and Felix, too. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. I recommend this book to people who love magic and shifters with the intrigue of hunters lurking.

>This is the 1st book in the Thornheart Coven series and ends in an HEA. Mia is a witch with a crush on her neighbor. She concocts a love potion to get him to take her to her sister's wedding. At the wedding, Mia meets the best man, Felix. He is a Dryad, but that term is never explained. With his references to a willow tree, I think he is like a Druid with an affinity for nature. His powers aren't really discussed. Felix and Mia have instant chemistry, but both characters need a little more development.

>The stories for Mia's sisters are set up a bit. Faye and her soulmate are unable to touch and Bex did not marry her soulmate. Bex also has a huge 5 year old secret that apparently no one knew about. I did like how Felix goes all alpha once he realizes Mia is his soulmate. The magic wasn't all overpowering either. In fact, Mia is unsure of her abilities which is quite funny at times.

This is an intriguing look into witches, shifters, and other supernatural beings. Mia is a mildly powerful witch in need of a date to her sister's wedding. She's interested in her neighbor, and gives him a love potion. However, things go astray at the wedding reception when certain elements come to light.

These characters are interesting, that's for sure. But sometimes I did have more questions than answers. Like why one of the sister's couldn't touch her mate. It's discussed so often in the book that they are meant to be but never touch, so I'd love an explanation to that! But maybe in the next book?

Though this wasn't filled with a lot of action, it still held my interest. I can't help but go for a sappy love story, especially when it'swell written. Which this one is.

I can't wait for the next one!

A witch wants a date, so she whips up a love potion to help. But then she starts to second guess who to use it on.

This is the introductory story to another new series by the author and, is usual for her intro books, you get a lot of surface details but not much depth. But experience has shown this is okay for her intro books as each subsequent volume will add depth to the characters, the setting and the story. So be prepared for a broad brush overview of the setting, with lots of tantalizing hints of things to come.

That doesn't mean this story is incomplete, because it does stand on its own. But by the end of it, you will find yourself aching for the next book in order to dig into some of those tantalizing hints.

The story is short and easy to read, providing a nice fun introduction to this new series. Give it a shot!

Highly recommended.

A good story, a witch, a wedding and a love potion

Mia is a witch who needs a date for her sisters wedding. She has been crushing on her neighbor Skyler. She feeds him a love potion. Things go sideways when she meets Felix, the best man. Suddenly she doesn't seen to have a crush on Skyler any more. Then there is the fact that she could open the bride box from her grandmother, and she shouldn't be able to do that until she found her mate.
Felix is a dryad. He suspects Mia is his mate. She is there with another man, who is behaving in a suspicious manner.
Things aren't what they seem. Just who cast a spell on who. The groom is in trouble. The bride knows and is trying to help. She has been keeping a big secret. A kidnapped child. Mia, Felix and her sisters are determined to rescue.
A fast.paced.and a little steamy. Overall A good.story. A lot of unanswered questions in the end, making the story feel incomplete.

Amazing book about witchy magic Ann Romance

A witch is concerned about showing up at a her sister's wedding without a date. So she uses Magic. All Is What It seems.

Her potion may not be working, but a mating bond sure is. But something is wrong. Everybody is trying to figure out what it is.

While plot is a twisting and turning at a fast pace, the drama presented to the characters plays itself out. The characters are sexy, magical, and unique but they are all so relatable.

This is the second book I have read on a different series by the author. I have learned at the first series that I was impressed with is $0.99 for this week. I am sure going to buy it as soon as I get an Amazon card. But in the meantime I would give this a six stars if I could. Highly recommended.

With her sister's wedding fast approaching, Mia needs a date, and who better than the gorgeous neighbor she sees gardening every day. As a witch, she doesn't have much power, but she's a pro with potions and uses a love potion on him. Except Mia ends up falling for her destined mate, Felix, who is the best man at the wedding. What could possibly go wrong?

I've not read anything by the author before. The lovely cover and synopsis attracted me with a hope for a light paranormal read. It promised true. I read it quickly, and while I guessed most of what was going to happen, I do like seeing paranormals in normal contemporary settings doing every day stuff. Mia and her sisters were interesting, but I particularly enjoyed Felix who is a dryad. There is steam in this tale! The plot was bumpy and a few things needed to be better explained, but it was a decent quick read.

Felix would rather stop his friend's wedding than be Best Man, but the time for talking him out of it has passed.

Mia doesn't want to see her sister unhappy, but so far she hasn't found a way to help her see Robert may not be her one. Now the wedding is upon them and, with any luck, things will turn out for the best.

This done in one quick read takes an unexpected turn into the realm of whodunits as Felix and Mia work together to solve one mystery, that leads into a second one that ends with interesting questions to be answered for the reader about Bex, and while Faye isn't in dire straits by any means, here's hoping she has a happily ever after in her future as well.

This is a delightful story not just about family, but how well we know people, those close to us, and those we think we know.

This paranormal suspense/romance is beautifully written, although it leaves you with a lot of unanswered questions - who and what exactly is Skylar, what does he want with Mia and her family, who is the father of Bex's daughter, and who are the true mates of Mia's sisters? However, this is only the first book in a series, so I'm sure that these questions will get answered as the series goes on. As for this book, if you can live with a few unanswered questions for the sake of an otherwise excellent book, I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes their romance stories with mystery, suspense, and a magical twist.

I voluntarily read this ARC and enjoyed it immensely. Since dealing with witches I can say, "What a tangled web we weave.....". Talk about a tragic comedy of errors. This book features Mia and the guy next door. However, he isn't what she thought and the tables seem to have been turned with a potion until she attends her sisters wedding. Now we see some real action as well as revelations that stun. Felix is the best man....but not necessarily for the groom. You'll be asking yourself "Who's on first..." with all the twists this story leads into. Though it can be read as a standalone, this is definitely a series book that alludes to a cliffhanger ending.

Mia has been crushing on her neighbor Skylar for months. She mixes up a love potion to give him then takes her new admirer to her sister's wedding as her date. But fate steps in and she meets the best man Felix who turns out to be her one true mate. Keeping her hands off her mate is near impossible, her date Skylar is acting suspicious and not like a man in love with her should act. And the wedding couple seem unhappy and distracted. There is a mystery going on here and Felix and Mia are ready to put the pieces together. Excellent first book in this series!

A Very Twisty Tale

This is the first book that I've read by Ms. Greenwood. Gotta love the plot which was very entertaining and curvy as well. Who wouldn't like Mia!? She's feisty and bubbly and goes with her heart. Felix is an amazing hero. I loved reading his thoughts! These two together are quite the magical pair♡ I'm looking forward to reading more about the other witches in this series. I love seeing when characters get fleshed out in their own stories ♡♡♡♡ Ms. Greenwood certainly can pen a very exciting, thoughtful and magical tale!

A nice short paranormal romance read.
Mia is a witch whose powers are more concentrated on potions than anything else. But when she meets her true mate, sparks fly.
Felix is a perfect hero, full of care and kind. When meeting Mia, he knows instantly she is the one, while she fights more the bond linking them.
After as it is the first in a series, it leaves us with plenty of questions, how the witch powers can be locked, who is Skylar and what is he looking for, but the h and H have found their HEA.

Mia had felt drawn to her neighbor, but he did not react to her. So, being a witch, she finally brews a love potion, to have him come as her date to her sister's wedding. When there she meets her mate, and things get really complicated, especially when they find out that her neighbor had his own - not very friendly - plans for her family.
A well-written, entertaining story, a mix of paranormal cozy mystery and romance. Not exactly a page-turner, but a book that one does not want to put down for long.

This is the first narration I've listened to by Sara Woulfe. The performance was well done, and her voice was very clear. I did have a small issue with the pace of the narration. It felt like it was going very slowly, almost like it was being dragged out.

I've read/listened to a few of Laura Greenwood's books. They have all been very entertaining, mostly on the shorter quick read side.

Mia is a witch and has a crush on her nextdoor neighbor Skylar. Since she needs a date for her sister's wedding she chooses to give Skylar a love potion and take him as her date. It doesn't take long for Mia to realize that Skylar isn't the one for her, especially while she's tangled up with the best man Felix. At the same time Mia is juggling a distraught sister who is about to marry the wrong man.

Witch's Potion is the first book in the Thornheart Coven series and was an enjoyable fantasy romance that held my interest from beginning to end. This short story was intriguing and imaginative and had romance, humor, steamy scenes and mystery. I enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of fantasy romance.
I listened to the audible version of this novel which was narrated by Sara Woulfe. She did a fantastic job with the characters and brought the story to life. I enjoyed listening to her voice and her narration.

Previously published under the name "Witch’s Potion" Laura spun a story about a witch using a love potion to help with her love life. Mia doesn't want to go to her sisters wedding solo so she decides to bewitch her neighbor, Skyler, who she has been mooning over with a love potion. What could go wrong? Felix, best man to the groom Robert, meets Mia and is instantly intrigued. She has a mystery about her he just need to crack.
The characters were instantly likeable and the story moves pretty smoothly but is rushed a bit. There are parts that could have had a better build but I was totally surprised by the end and rushed right into the next story.
I actually am giving a 3 1/2 star rating for this story...

This is a lovely story about Mia who decides to make a love potion to use on her neighbour who she has a crush on and so she has a date for her sisters wedding, it works but nothing is as it seems with twists and turns excitement and magic

Mia’s sister is getting married and to avoid the pesky “when are you getting married?” questions she decides to use her Grandma’s old potion book to come up with a solution...a Love Potion. Which she’ll use on her hot neighbour.
But when she meets Felix (one of the groomsmen) and sparks start to fly. And the story will take an unexpected twist at the wedding.
This is a fabulous short story with romance, mystery and magic.
Can’t wait to read more about the Thornheart family.

I think this book has a great concept, but could benefit from being fleshed out more. Everything that’s needed is already there for the storyline and characters, but better development is needed. Everything’s somewhat one dimensional.

I do like how it mentions characters from another one of Laura Greenwood’s books, I always get a kick when there’s crossovers.

This is but interesting and attention grabbing. The plot has many moving parts and left me with a few unanswered questions. It's not really a cliffhanger but it definitely has more going on than Mia's love potion and finding her mate. I think maybe the author was trying to lead the reader to where the series is heading in such a short story over-crowded what should have been the main focus of Mia's story.
