Twin Souls #2

Soulshift

Rate this book
Pain started to build in my head, and I knew what was coming. But this time, I welcomed it.

I was going to see Devon again. I was going to live in the body that was supposed to be mine. And even if it was just for a few hours, those few hours were time I hadn't had before.

I closed my eyes. Time to go see the real love of my life.

Soulshift is paranormal romance with a Freaky Friday twist. (Which means body swapping, if you were as clueless as Arizona.)

Soulshift is book 2 in the completed Twin Souls Trilogy.

This would probably a great overall book if one specific thing was changed - book 1 and 2 were to be merged. That's my greatest problem with this specific book here - I've already read it. Or, I should say, I've already learned everything that happens in this book by reading book one in this series.

Why and or how did I learn everything about this book from book 1? Because the events in this book take place at the exact same time as the events in book 1 and even involve the same people. The only difference between book 1 and 2 is who the point of view character is in the books - book 1 follows Tate; book 2 follows Ayra.

Tate & Ayra, you see, spend the entirety of the book switching bodies - by accident. One is a vampire who hates the taste of blood (Ayra), the other is a dragon who can't shift (Tate); one has a male mate while the other has a female mate.

Second biggest problem with this book? It's a combo of not really liking Ayra's character, to a certain extent, but mostly the part where I learned her character and . . . she kept drifting into acting more like Tate at times. I'm not exactly sure what was going on there, is it some kind of 'the two women, who look like twins, are more similar than they think' or if it's some kind of mistake in the plotting/characteriztion/etc.

Again, though, the main problem I have with this book is that this book really should have been merged with book 1. I was kind of bored while I read this book here. I know what's going to happen, when it's going to happen, and how people will react when those events unfold . . . because I'd read book 1.

This book is hard to describe without giving things away. Arya is a vampire who hates drinking blood. She is in a committed relationship with a female but she realizes that she isn’t 100% happy. She thinks she dreams about a man who gives her things that she needs. Turns out she isn’t dreaming. Honestly the concept of the soulshift is unique and I enjoyed it quite a lot. My issue was with the characters. They fell flat for me. But still an enjoyable read!

Soulshift happens on The same Time as Soulswap and can be read in any order.
Soulshift is about Ayra. She is a vampire with aversion for blood.
This is The same story told form other perspective That was Great addition as allows to understand Ayra and Devon's connection even better.

Soulswap and Soulshift are companion books about Arya and Tate, two women who look identical, who were born on the same day, and who have recently been switching bodies. Both were living lives with the person they thought was their true mate, but both were not quite satisfied. Both were also considered "defective" within their paranormal community. Once they started switching, it became crystal clear that they were meant to be living the other's life. Both books have identical timelines. Each book focuses on the swap from one of the lady's POV. Soulshift is the second book in the Twin Souls trilogy. This is Arya's story.

Arya is a reluctant vampire in a committed relationship with another female vamp, Sian. She loves Sian dearly but realizes that their relationship isn't perfect. They have different wants, needs. From the first shift, she is irresistibly drawn to Devon both physically and emotionally. He is what she needs. She is what he wants. I love Arya. I found her to be sweet, caring, adventurous. I loved that she was no good at "not being Arya".

I need to note that I read this book first. I didn't realize that I had opened the second book first. It didn't make any difference to the story, but I believe that it increased my enjoyment to read in this order. Arya figured out what was going on quickly and eventually controlled the switch, so it seemed natural to read the books like I did. Honestly, I wasn't sure about this book when I started reading it. I was kind of upset about the idea of two happy couples being broken up with a soul exchange. By chapter 2 I was hooked. Everything was handled with honesty, grace, and love. The friendships that endured through the switch were important to me.

I was fascinated by the idea that souls could apparently be accidentally placed in the wrong body with the result that the lives were good, but not perfect. Not what they were meant to be. This correction/reset gives everyone a second chance. Such an innovative story. The 2 companion books with the different POV's is also wonderful. I love that we experienced each lady's experience in its entirety. Then came the ending....I'm dying here. I need book 3 now. I need to know how everything works out to give all four of these wonderful people their HEA.

Ayra watched Sian run a brush through her hair and just felt something wasn’t quite exactly right. Nothing major, nothing about Sian, but just … something with herself. Ayra was unusual anyway as a vampire because she had green eyes and found drinking blood was repulsive! Only her parents actually knew that fact, but it was true. She just didn’t like the taste. And for the most part, her relationship with Sian was good, except for those moments of doubt she kept having.

Ayra rolled over in bed and reached out to Sian – but she encountered hard muscles, a broad chest, and a wonderful scent. She pressed up against hot skin – hot? Vampires aren’t hot! And this was a man! The deep voice saying good morning made it true. Well, since this was obviously a dream, and dreaming wasn’t cheating, maybe she could enjoy a little of it? The dream man held her tight and did all the things the way she fantasized but which Sian never did. He moaned her name, “Tate” – wait, who is Tate? She opened her eyes to gorgeous blue eyes and a 5 o’clock shadow. A hazy feeling came over her and she fell back to sleep.

Soulshift, and its companion book Soulswap, are dual POV books about Arya and Tate, two women whose appearance is the same, who share the same birthday, and who have started to switch to the other person’s body! Neither had been satisfied completely with the person they chose. Switching bodies gave them a better match with a more comfortable partner that seemed better suited to their needs. What was happening? What triggered this switch into another body? What did it all mean? This is Ayra’s story. Grab your book and be ready to figure it all out with her!

In this book, we get to see Arya’s and Tate’s soul swapping through Arya's eyes. Arya is a vampire who has never like blood. Something always felt off to her about being a vampire and about her relationship with Sian, even though she loves her. When the soul swapping starts, Arya thinks it's just a dream, but soon she realizes it's real. At first, she feels like she is betraying Sian, but her relationship with Devon is giving her more of what she needs but never got with vampire lover.

Will the soul swapping continue? Will they be able to control it? Will Arya continue to fall for Devon? What's going on with Tate and Sian? (Of course, the answer to that last one is in Soulswap!)

I've read all the books in this series, and I loved seeing Arya's and Devon's relationship from her perspective. She's quite different from Tate. Honestly, Devon should have realized that, even though the body looked the same, the woman inside was quite distinct from what he knew before. Arya's and Devon's love story is sweet to follow, even though Devon has a hard time adjusting once he finally is told what is truly going on. I love that Arya/Tate could now experience life in dragon form, which Tate has never been able to do. The author did an excellent job lining up events in the two books of this trilogy that were concurrent, this one from Arya's perspective and Soulswap from Tate's perspective.

There were a few issues with grammar, punctuation, and usage, but that didn’t detract from the story.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

I enjoyed this M/F romance by Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape! I thought the concept of soul swapping was cool, on top of that, they did a book for each of the new couples which is also a fabulous idea. Now first the story: Like I mentioned before, the idea is a refreshing concept and it had me intrigued from the get go. Sometimes the swaps were so fast it gave me a little whiplash but I still really enjoyed the concept. I think there might have been a little too much inner monologue for my liking, but I think its more a personal preference over anything. Those are the main reasons I didnt give in a 5 star, but a solid 4. I already have book 2 on audiobook, so I will be listening to that to get the ladies side of the story and then the final one! This one does end a little on a cliffy, but definitely makes me want to listen to the 3rd book right away haha.

In terms of the narration, I have listened to Susan before on Arizona and Laura's series and she didnt change it up enough I think from her other narration for me. I felt like I was listening to Lola's story, not Arya and Devon's love story. I think sometimes she was a little over the top with the inner monologue (I think thats why it seemed like a lot for me). I would still listen to her rendition thought, she does a good job with her emotions and inflections. Solid 3 star for the narration.

Going to definitely check out book 3 once I get my next credit, need to know how this story ends (I mean I kinda know the ending after listening to over books in this universe but not the how haha).

This series is about two women who find themselves swapping bodies on a regular basis . Both women are Identical to look at, born on the same exact day and time, Both truly believed the had found THE ONE that they were meant to be with for the rest of their lives although they realized something was missing for their relationships, they were missing a spark. Both women were a bit of an outcast in their own Paranormal towns. Once the swapping began to take place they begin to see what exactly they were missing!

The first book SoulSwap is written from Tate's POV. She finds herself unhappy, bored, loving a man but not IN love with this man and she is engaged to him!!!! Once she wakes up in the body of Arya and meets Sian she knows that she never wants to go back to the life she had before !

The second book Soulshift is written from Arya's POV. Like Tate she finds herself lacking in the relationship department, she loves Sian but there is something just a little off, something missing, When she wakes up to something poking her from behind and really enjoying the feel of it she figures out what she has been missing in her life.

The way they figure out how to communicate and agree to continue to live their lives swapping is quite ingenious and selfless ! Defiantly a great read !!

This is the first book in the Twin Souls trilogy, but the second I've read - books 1 and 2 can be read in any order. I didn't realise that they are essentially the same part of the story by from two viewpoints - this one from Ayra's and book 2 from Tate's - and must admit I found it a little disappointing to read what at first glance seemed to be the same book. However, there are many more details in this one that never appeared in the other, as we discover what happened at Ayra's and Devon's end of the swap. Part of me couldn't help wondering though if the two books couldn't have been condensed into one with the two viewpoints as separate chapters?
That aside, this is a good read for lovers of supernatural and paranormal stories, and the combination of body swap, dragon shifters and vampires is an original and fascinating concept. Can't wait to see what happens next to them all in book three!!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

This is the companion story to Soulswap, this tells the story from the point of view of Ayra and Devon whereas Soulshift tells the story from Tate and Sien's point of view. This is such an interesting story! I got pulled in and I was surprised by how much I truly loved this story. Ayra was born a vampire, but has never enjoyed blood or felt quite right as a vampire. Then suddenly she gets kicked into another woman's body, a dragon shifter. As time goes, Ayra and Tate are being thrown back and forth between the two bodies and soon both ladies are feeling more at home in each other's body and Ayra is starting to wonder if this could be a permanent.

I loved this book, and have already started the others in the series! I just loved the concept and just couldn't stop listening to Susan Greenway! Susan Greenway was just amazing, I only gave her a 4 star because she had a few very noticeable mistakes and her production had a few issues too. But overall, she did fabulous and I would recommend this story and series to everyone!! #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Our heroine is one of two identical ladies whose souls have been mistakenly swapped. Once this gets sorted, the story is only just beginning.

The first two books in the series are companions, each told from the perspective of one of the ladies swapping souls. I have noted some confusion regarding the order in that Amazon says this is book one, while reading it says it is book two. Fortunately, both books cover the same time period just from different perspectives. Order is not a major problem here.

I found this to be a fantastic read, easily one of the best books that I have read by this author. I love a real paranormal love story and here we get two. We take two "good" couples and turn them into two "perfect" couples, if you will. Very well written, highly engaging and definitely worth a read.

Highly recommended.

Soul swap (Book 1) and Soulshift Have concurrent story lines, with Tate and Ayra swapping souls/bodies and living parts of each other’s lives. Normally when I have tries to read stories that have books that run concurrently but from different perspectives, I haven’t been able to finish the 2nd book, because it feels like I am just reading the same thing. However, Tape and Greenwood do an amazing job of making the stories feel distinct yet familiar. In Soulshift we get Ayra’s side of the story. Ayra is a strong lady, but also vulnerable. I like her self awareness and how she figures out what is going on. I’m excited to see where book 3 takes us.

I received an ARC of this book. I voluntarily and honestly reviewed it.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in a trilogy, but it shares a concurrent timeline with the first and they can be read in either order; a most unique set-up.

In this installment the focus is on, and told by, Ayra; a vampire who hates blood and who's soul sometimes switches bodies with Tate, a dragon shifter unable to change forms. Both women thought they were okay with their individual life-paths until the body/soul swapping occured and they realized exactly what, and who, they were missing.

This is an inventive and enjoyable tale that I think anyone would like reading!

So, I liked this one better than book 1 in this series simply because I liked Arya's character better. She is much more self-less and considerate of others than Tate was in book 1. I also completely feel in love with Devon - even more so than I did in book 1. Again, the narration was wonderful and I love the accent! Story line is unique and I enjoy that book 1 is from Tate's point of view while this read / listen focus' on Arya's point of view. Again with the cliffhanger so I'm excited to finish off this series with book 3!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Soulshift by Arizona Tape and Laura Greenwood is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Susan Greenway.

I absolutely love when Arizona and Laura team up. Their books always leave me with a smile on my face. I really enjoyed this paranormal romance with a freaky Friday twist. I loved the relationship that was blooming between Ayra and Devon. I can’t wait to dive into the final book in the series Soultrade to get the rest of Ayra and Tate’s story.

Susan did a great job on the narration. I absolutely love her voice.

I would recommend this book if you like paranormal romances or slow burn romances.

I really enjoyed seeing the events unfold from Arya's point of view. Having read Tate's story, a lot of this was a little predictable since I knew some of what to expect with each swap. Despite the predictability, it was nice to finally find out what went through Arya's head with everything. The ending in this book was just as devastating as the last one, given that it's the same end from a different perspective. I'm anxious see how they work out a solution in the next book.

I liked this book but not nearly as much as soulswap. Ayra just wasn't as likeable to me as Tate. I feel like her relationship with sian was good except for the blood. I tried really hard to like her but I just didn't. I love the rest of the characters though so I still could enjoy the story. Maybe if I had read this one first it would have been better. I am still going to read soultrade but I hope it's more from tate's povs then ayra's.

Ayra and Tate are switching bodies - and Ayra has a little control. Time for the mating ceremony - and Ayra is there with Devon - they are happy and in love. Tate is with Sian, and just as happy and as much in love - when after the ceremony, they are switched back, without either of them controlling it. Will the couples ever be where they want to be again?

Wow this story is unique. I love how different the storyline is. There are so many twists and turns throughout it. The characters are beautifully developed and have such great personalities that just come through the writing of the story. It is part of a series and end in a slight cliffhanger but it is definitely an excellent story. I loved the chemistry between Devon and Ayra. They have a great romance.

What a lovely series. I was so taken with the storyline and ended up feeling like l was friends with the main four people. You know how the reader can feel like you "are" the main character? Well l identified with both Tate and Ayra which was a first, for me anyway. I could gush on so much about the scenes that left an impression on me but l it would stop you seeing them through fresh eyes, so l will leave it there and just recommended you read and enjoy!💕

Each book in the series tells the story from one of the two women's perspectives - This one is in Arya's POV. You can read them in either order, as they cover the same time frame. There could be a bit of confusion until you get your bearings but overall it was a solid story. The story has a freaky friday feel, except their souls were originally mistakenly swapped and once corrected everything in their lives falls into place.

Soulshift (Twin Souls #2) was a good read by Arizona Tape and Laura Greenwood. This book is Ayra’s perception of the body swapping with Tate. The pain was back that completely consumes Ayra. But she wanted it because it brought her back to Devon. She would wake up in a body that was supposed to be hers but she wouldn’t be able to stay forever. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by the authors.

This is the twin book to SoulSwap, even though it says book 2 it doesn't matter what order you read them in. I actually ended up like SoulSwap a bit more, I think it's because it had more funny moments. This story was more serious, yet it was still great with a heartbreaking ending. I can't wait to see how they workout the predicament all the characters ended up in at the end of the books.

So this book has a twin called Soulswap which I read first. To be honest I think this one might be a little hum drum because I had already read the other one. I was so wrong. I might like this one more! This is the story of Ayra and Devon and their journey though the Soulswap/Soulshift. I can’t wait for Soultrade!

Amazing 2.0!

Wow this is from the other side of the first book. More cooking and quite frankly a wonderful story. I sooooo have to read the third book now. If you have read the first book then this is a must to complete the picture the authors are conveying. If you haven’t read the first book then please do you won’t regret it!
