Spectacle: Operation Desert Storm and the Triumph of Illusion

Rate this book
This shattering expose by a brilliant media critic reveals exactly how and why the administration, the Pentagon, and the media orchestrated a high-stakes campaign to "sell" the Gulf War to America. Impeccably researched, Spectacle is sure to spark outraged debate with its labeling of the war as a high-tech military Super Bowl, complete with instant replays, star interviews, and a postwar party.
