Driven By The Past
Captain Renault served the Empire of Man in Command of the Imperial Dreadnought, the HMSS Defiant and its’ Fleet of Warships. As a Command Leader she was one of the finest in the Empire. Combined with that skill she was lucky and had won all her battles with the enemy they labelled “The Lizards.” She was also smart enough to know the Empire was losing this War. Their ships were top of the line, their defensive and offensive strength was good and the Empire crews were real good. The problem was the Empire tech was good, where the Lizard’ tech was just that much better.
She had won the last battle by using her head and turning a certain defeat into a now rare Empire victory. That not-by-the-book-win got her noticed by the Emperor. As a result, she and her fleet were given the special privilege of a mission for the Emperor.
Her Fleet's sensors confirmed the Enemy Fleet was larger than hers. They confirmed the Enemy had far more ships and she just knew they had far better tech.
She was now facing a Lizard Fleet that was larger and had better tech than hers. AND the Emperor fully expected her to win!
Sitting in her Command Chair on the Bridge of the Defiant she knew it was time. It was time to face the facts. It was time for her fleet to win this battle or die trying! She knew win or lose, many would die today. As she began to order her Fleet to attack, she was interrupted by a small unknown Star Ship dropping out of Hyper-Space and flashing between her Fleet and the Lizard Fleet.
With the additional unknown, many would say it was predictable that her day just went from bad to worse!
But the crew on that small strange Starship, a Ship of The People, would claim her day was about to turn into something valuable!
Could they be correct!!
