Undaunted was the first book in the Kings of Retribution MC series by authors Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez. It was their author debut.
Logan Kane was the VP of the Kings of Retribution. His mom died when he was ten, his aunt when he was thirteen and then he was raised by his uncle, the MC President. He was loyal and committed to the MC. They were his life and nothing else mattered.
Bella Jameson was strong and independent. She was struggling to make ends meet and to keep her younger sister safe. Her sister was her life and nothing else mattered.
Logan and Bella’s paths crossed several times and the connection was instant with a friendship developing quickly. The authors built the storyline around the MC and Bella’s life, eventually merging the two into one.
Undaunted was well written and well developed. It was told with a dual POV. Although it was dark at times, it was also suspenseful, adding depth, dimension and intrigue to the storyline. The only real drawback were the editing errors, which weren’t numerous, but were enough to notice.
The authors did a great job setting the stage for the series through revealing the personalities of the MC members. I loved the fun bantering and the bond of loyalty between them and I can’t wait to read their stories.
All in all, it was a great debut novel for the authors and I can’t wait to read Gabriel and Alba’s story next in The Darkest of Light.

Every single mc romance cliche is packed into this book. From the bad boy VP biker to the virgin sweetheart h who magically turns into a badass after one visit to the clubhouse,to the rival mc trouble, and including the mob.... they're all jam crammed into this, stretching what might've been an ok book into the OTT ridiculous level. Eye roll worthy from beginning to end....... I may read more in the series nevertheless
The drama at the end between the couple annoyed me to no end
* H had sex with clubwhore before he met the h but from the moment they met he didn't stray. Said clubwhore causes some drama but the newly minted badass h bloodies her up. h had relationships before where she fooled around and gave oral and such but she was a virgin

Undaunted was an ok read. Overall it was the same story that has been done over and over again but unfortunately not as good. Logan was typical for the genre, I liked him enough. Bella was ok, she was super sweet and way to wonderful for me. My main problem with her was that in the beginning we're told a story about her childhood where she states her and Alba's age and it's only 1 year difference. But as the story progresses it's like the authors decided they wanted her to be older. It was really annoying especially since she should only be around 19 and she spoke to Sophia like she was so much older than Sophia's 17. I know it may seem like nothing but when a character seems to change half way during the story it's distracting. I think my favorite character was Jake. I loved how caring and loving he was. Although I had issues with this book, the ending left me curious. So I will read book 2 at some point.

I’m mostly out here on my own (several of my friends loved it) but I couldn’t connect. This scenario is common with mc reads… a badass biker H that’s secretly a sensitive softy (unless dealing with a clubwhore) saved by a beautiful, kind (unless dealing with a clubwhore) virginal h… but it didn’t work for me this time. It all felt stale, and I couldn’t get lost into the story.
Logan felt WAY too jaded and overdramatic for a 25-yr-old MC Club vice-president. His pity party in the first chapter felt contrived and unrealistic.
Today is just another reminder of just how fucked up life is. It's also the only day I allow my old habits to seep in.

His many loses are… losing his mom (but gaining a great support system from his uncle and club), losing his aunt, and his HS girlfriend. I get it… that sucks, but he’s a badass biker dude sitting around feeling sorry for himself YEARS later.
Things aren’t great for Bella either. She’s got a dead dad, a deadbeat stepfather, and a spineless/doormatty mother that makes her help support the deadbeat and raise her little sister… and everyone seems to want in her pants.
I struggled with the writing. Their backstories were delivered via info dumps. There were inconsistencies, like her and her sis being only a year apart, then several years later in the book. And it drove me batshit that she used Spanish words tospice stuff up show us the character was Hispanic/Latino but translated it directly after… EVERY time the word was used. puta, bitch; Mierda, Shit; Qué, What; again and again. These were not difficult/rare Spanish words, and I bet most readers didn’t need the translation, but no one needs to be told 6 times that puta means bitch.
Bottom Line- This was work to finish, but I am intrigued by Gabriel, so I will give his book a shot.
Safety- The H is with a club-girl before he meets the h. The sex was off-page and safe after that.

That's it. In one swift move, I bring my fist up, punching the whore right in her nose. I strike her so hard, it causes pain to explode in my hand. Cassie drops to the floor, cupping her nose. Her shrieking sounds like a dying cat.
I was never going to be yours. A whore like you has nothing on a woman like Bella.
I don’t mind hating Cassie, (I prefer my wannabe OW to be evil) I just wanted/needed more
(manipulating, bitchy, etc.) from her to get behind it.

This was an easy low angst read. The romance was hot but also a little bit sweet and I liked the fact there was no major relationship drama. The biker side of the story had lots of action which I enjoyed that it wasn't all about the romance. Definitely interested in reading more of this series.

Warning : Rather Unpopular Review Coming Ahead
OMG?! What the heck did I just read?
You would think that the mixed reviews from the community would be enough to stop me from reading it.
But Nooooo; I had to go ahead and read this book!
But with all seriousness, I don't give out 1 star review until it's absolutely necessary, but this book is not something that I would ever recommend to my friends.
You don't know the accomplishment I felt when i finally completed this book. Hooray for me!At one point I thought my eyes would get stuck from rolling so much. And not in a fun way. At all.
Throughout this novel the worst thing I felt was the awareness - at every given moment that I was reading a book!
But regardless I thought maybe the storyline will be good enough to pull up the novel, seeing how people where liking it and the 4 star average this book had, but boy, was I wrong.
The male lead was a Vice President of a Motorcycle Club, but him along with all the members of the MC were all sweethearts who help good old girls everywhere they went.
And I had no problem getting behind that. Seriously, you want to be a good MC, that awsome, go ahead - but their treatment to 'club whores' and the filthy language they can't stop using in their presence was not really doing it for me.
However I couldn't exactly stop reading the book for that sole reason, being those character are put in any novel for the sole reason of being insulted. *Major eye role at the hypocrisy*
But nonetheless, i continued. I thought the novel couldn't get any worse. But the writing - OMG the writing! I felt like I was reading pre-thoughtout scenarios of cliches put together forcibly with minimum focus to emotion in a Romance novel. To say the least, I felt as if I was reading robotic interactions in place of romantic ones. And the horrible, horrible scenes. *deep sigh*
The male lead won't stop giving orders and the female lead won't stop being assulted by every other male she know because she is just so damn irristable. *Tugs hairs* Ugh.
This book wasn't a dark read, it was a sexist one. To both sex. In horrible ways.
I can go on, but I think you get the idea. Hope you able to protect yourself from regret of opening a book you couldn't finish.

Really 3 1/2 stars. This was nice start to a new-to-me series, and author. I really enjoyed the heroine, the hero was just okay. He was sweet, but always a little incomplete. This biker lite, though has a lot of action. The action sequences are what made my final rating decision hard. The timeline was all over the place at the end. That said, will continue with the next book.

I got the audiobook for this, not realizing I had DNF’d it once before and rated it 1 star. After listening to it and finishing it, I felt ok with upping it to 2 stars. This review will have spoilers.
Logan (25, MC/mechanic) has sworn off relationships after being betrayed by his high school sweetheart. He’s good with the club life where he can get laid and then send them on their way. His attitude starts to change when the shop hires a new receptionist.
Bella Jameson (21-ish, virgin) has a rough time right now. When she’s not working, she’s taking care of her 18-year-old sister and fighting off all the men who want to rape her. When she gets fired for being late to work again, a biker is kind enough to offer her a job.
Bella and Logan spend the next few months with him acting possessive but never making a move on her. When she’s attacked one night, he kisses her but then backs off.
One of the club whores tells Bella that she’s Logan’s girlfriend, so of course Bella gets mad and starts ignoring him. When Bella is attacked again, she goes to the club to ask the Prez for help. She finally confronts Logan about the girlfriend issue, he tells her the truth and then decides to claim her.
They become a couple, someone is still trying to hurt her, Logan gets a random surprise parentage reveal, there’s a kidnapping, an attack, a recovery, and a HFN with a cliffy for two other characters.
SEX: Their first time is at 42% without condoms and it's not good. For one thing, he’s a two-pump chump, at most. Then it was nowhere near believable. She's a virgin, but somehow after he breaks her hymen and pumps twice, she's starting to climax. I get that books portray the FMCs climaxing during their first time, but I guess this one was just written so poorly that I believed it even less.
BELLA: Not a fan. (1) Everyone wants to rape her. Her stepfather, her boss, a guy she went on a date with, the guys who kidnapped her. Like seriously what the fuck. I was so fucking over it. (2) Even though she’s always the victim of something, when Cassie (the club whore) starts shit, Bella punches her in the face. The action didn’t match the character. (3) She's kidnapped and cut up. She’s embarrassed of her scars, so she refuses to let Logan touch her or see her naked. That goes on for months and I hated it.
CHEATING: Logan never cheats on Bella, but there are things that are bothersome. Logan is actively fucking other women at the beginning of the book. It doesn’t go into detail, but it is talked about. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t fuck anyone else after Bella starts working at the shop; however, he does say, ….The problem is, I can't seem to take any woman to my bed lately. My cock knows what it wants, and it's not club pussy. . That makes me feel like even if he didn’t actively try, he was at least thinking about doing it. Then, when Bella is attacked and goes to the clubhouse for help, she finds him: “….sitting at the bar, and then my eyes slide to Logan, who's sitting next to him. Beside him is a tall blonde, rubbing her tits all over him and talking into his ear. I'm instantly filled with jealousy. He isn't even yours, Bella. You just want him to be. I feel gutted. Like someone has punched me in the stomach. Gabriel looks up and notices me standing here. I watch as he nudges Logan, giving him a chin lift in my direction. Logan turns, making eye contact with me. First, I see the surprise in his expression. Then it quickly turns to concern. He jumps up from his stool and marches over in my direction. . Um…. I wasn’t thrilled about that. Even though he wasn’t paying attention to Cassie, she still shouldn’t have been anywhere near him. That said, he does end up taking care of the problem in a way I found extremely satisfying.
ALBA and SOPHIA: (1) Despite Alba being eighteen, Bella has to pick her ass up from school and bring her to the shop to hang out. I get that home isn’t the best place for her but come the fuck on!!! The entire book Alba acts like, and Bella treats her like she’s twelve!! THEN, when Gabriel (26) shows interest in Alba (18), Bella is all encouraging him to hook up with her! "I understand the whole age thing Gabriel, but don't take too long deciding what you want. My sister is a beautiful girl. It won't take long before she catches someone else's attention." It’s so weird!!! (2) When Bella is kidnapped, there’s a 17-yo girl who tries to help her out, and when they get away Bella immediately starts acting like her mom. The weirdest thing was that teenage girl immediately started acting like her daughter, not even being traumatized about her past. This is right after the rescue when they’re in the hospital:
"Bella!" Sofia beams.
"Hey, sweetie," I exclaim. Offering me his hand, Logan helps me sit on the side of Sofia's bed. "How are you feeling? The guys treating you good?"
Quickly nodding her head, Sofia affirms. "Yes, everyone has been nice to me. Logan brought me this iPad, and Quinn brings me ice cream every day."
..
"Yes, sweet girl, you're coming home with us tomorrow."
"Really?!" Sofia screeches. I can't help but bust out laughing at her excitement. I ignore the way laughing causes my body to hurt.
"We're going to go so you can get some rest. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow," I announce patting Sofia's leg.
"Okay, Bella, thank you so much," she hiccups, trying to hold back her tears.
"You're welcome, baby girl."
SHE’S 17 FUCKING YEARS OLD!!! IT’S FUCKING WEIRD!
AUDIO: There’s a high probability that the fact Aiden Snow narrates is one of the reasons I kept listening. He’s so sexy. Stephanie Rose narrates for Bella and I usually hate her voice. It’s def not fun to listen to. That said, she’s not that awful in this book and she does a pretty decent male voice. It still would have been better as a duet.
“Bella, I'm not perfect, but you make me want to be a better man every day. You've shown me the kind of love and acceptance I never knew I was missing in my life. I'm a man who knows what he wants, and that's you—right by my side, or on the back of my bike. Be my old lady.”

The entire book Alba acts like, and Bella treats her like she’s twelve!! THEN, when Gabriel (26) shows interest in Alba (18), Bella is all encouraging him to hook up with her! "I understand the whole age thing Gabriel, but don't take too long deciding what you want. My sister is a beautiful girl. It won't take long before she catches someone else's attention." It’s so weird!!! (2) When Bella is kidnapped, there’s a 17-yo girl who tries to help her out, and when they get away Bella immediately starts acting like her mom. The weirdest thing was that teenage girl immediately started acting like her daughter, not even being traumatized about her past. This is right after the rescue when they’re in the hospital:
"Bella!" Sofia beams.
"Hey, sweetie," I exclaim. Offering me his hand, Logan helps me sit on the side of Sofia's bed. "How are you feeling? The guys treating you good?"
Quickly nodding her head, Sofia affirms. "Yes, everyone has been nice to me. Logan brought me this iPad, and Quinn brings me ice cream every day."

"Yes, sweet girl, you're coming home with us tomorrow."
"Really?!" Sofia screeches. I can't help but bust out laughing at her excitement. I ignore the way laughing causes my body to hurt.
"We're going to go so you can get some rest. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow," I announce patting Sofia's leg.
"Okay, Bella, thank you so much," she hiccups, trying to hold back her tears.
"You're welcome, baby girl."

AUDIO: There’s a high probability that the fact Aiden Snow narrates is one of the reasons I kept listening. He’s so sexy. Stephanie Rose narrates for Bella and I usually hate her voice. It’s def not fun to listen to. That said, she’s not that awful in this book and she does a pretty decent male voice. It still would have been better as a duet.

Let's start off by saying this is a brand new author's for us and we loved the story from cover to cover.Their first debut novel started off with a big bang and a whopping cliffhanger.I have to say my mouth was hanging open saying OMG what just happened at the end of the Epilogue.I am one of those readers that despises reading books with cliffhangers.I am the kind of reader who likes to dive into a series and as soon as I finish the first one I am on to the next or patiently waiting and hoping the next book comes out in a timely matter.That being said the ending was brilliant as It left you wanting more and anticipating the next in the series anxiously.
When I say I loved the story from cover to cover I meant it .I never put the book down and if I left a room my kindle went with me and I stayed up all night finishing it giving me a sleepless night but it was well worth it.

Hot and dangerous,as well as sweet and kind and not your typical biker.I loved how protective and patient and kind he was when he was when dealing with Bella.Overall a sweet and gentle soul but, don't get me wrong when Bella is threatened in any way all bets are off and his dangerous side comes out of hiding.I have to say I was a little bit in love with Logan myself he was definitely swoon worthy....I loved how from the onset of meeting Bella the sparks started to fly and how he instantly became protective of her .Even with all this happening he chooses to kept Bella at arms length but, he soon realizes its and impossible task and he needs to make a claim before someone snatches her up.I loved how he kind of took charge and told her she was always to text him when she was safely home.Their texts to one another each night were simple but super sweet.God alpha men turn me on!
Overall the story was amazing and had everything we love ,a sweet romance with amazing main characters as well as the secondary ones like Jake and Gabriel .The chemistry this couple had made for some serious hot scenes and had them burning up the sheets behind closed doors, had some major twists and turns, and was a bit suspenseful with a villainous character we love to hate as well.The story kept you on edge the entire time and kept you turning the pages as the villain was so evil you never new what evil plot he would think up next to acquire what he considered his. Boy I was rooting for this characters comeuppance from the onset of meeting him and hoping he pays for all the horrible things he has done and wanting a piece of him myself he was just that evil.
We loved it and the we can't wait to read Gabriel and Alba story. It cant get here soon enough!

4 Bella and Logan Stars
These are new to me authors but I adore MC Romances and I am always looking for a new series to get into so when I saw this I couldn't resist.
Logan is the Vice President of the Kings of Retribution MC and he is a badass biker - loyal to his club and his Brothers. He crosses paths with Bella , is insanely attracted to her but misses the opportunity to take things beyond admiring her from afar. Fate has other plans and Bella finds the Club coming to her rescue more than once in one day and that culminates in her being offered a job with the Club.
Bella is an interesting heroine. She looks out for her 18yo sister, Alba, because their Mother isn't really able to care for and protect the girls. Bella is strong but sweet and is so protective of Alba. She does have a strong backbone despite being a gentle soul. Her inner resilience is going to be needed more than once in this story.
Logan is very alpha. Very determined. Very hot. And very in love with Bella.

I loved the secondary characters and there are seven books for me to work my way through each of the key players stories.
So, why not 5 stars? As much as I am a huge fan of MC Romances, I am not always keen on the violence that some of them have. This reader is much more a fan of the lovers than the fighters...Having said that , I absolutely get the reason for this genre to have an element of fighting in them but this one was just a tad full on in places for me. I struggle a bit when the violence is against women in particular. It was not as gritty as Madeline Sheehan for example, but it is fairly graphic in places. Apart from that the story was strong and the characters were hugely likeable and I did enjoy this book. I listened to and read it & I was thinking about it when I couldn't read it. Also, I am jumping straight into the next book about Gabriel and Alba. The Kings have my full attention.

Cheating? No
OW/OM Drama? There is a club girl that causes trouble. Logan wakes up with her in his bed before he even lays eyes on Bella- the scene is not intimate. There is no emotional attachment AT ALL. Once Bella and Logan meet there is no one else for either of them.

It's not a perfect read but it managed to keep me thoroughly involved with the story and the characters. Some things did seem a little contrived but I really connected with these characters and a believable story line. I started backwards with this series by reading book 5 first and still can't understand how I let this series slip by me when I read so many MC romances. Both Bella and Logan are strong characters and the other secondary characters make you want to read more about them. I'm moving on to book 2 in the series now. I highly recommend this series. There is a HEA and no cheating.

Undaunted is one of those books you can't put down I was hooked from the first page , with lovable characters , story line that draws you in , intense moments , unexpected scenes that you don't see coming , and be prepared to be close to tears . Bella is just amazing with the things that she has been faced with it's surprising how lively she is I really liked her as a heroine she is strong , determined , funny , caring , and beautiful love the relationship she has with her sister and I can't wait to read her story the authors are such a tease with the epilogue . Logan is so swoon worthy once he sets his eyes on the heroine he couldn't get her off his mind with the loss he has been through my heart broke for him so happy he had Jake along with the club and oh my gosh was not expecting that twist , with his alpha gruffness , dirty taking melt your panties off HOT , and the way he is with his brothers is incredible . The secondary characters are soooooo amazing I hope to read more about them in the future .After reading Undaunted I legit was going through Netflix for something to watch and a came acrossed get this Practical magic ( you'll understand after reading this ) and couldn't stop myself from watching it by the way it's one of my all time favorite movies so I had a little fan girl moment . This has got to be one of the best MC stories I'v read and I'm so excited to see whats to come .

As a huge fan of any and all MC books I think I've read hundreds of different ones by different authors. As much as I love them all not many stand out for me anymore, so imagine my surprise when I opened up Undaunted on my kindle and I was TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY! I could not put this down. I read it when I was eating, I read it when I was supposed to be working, I read it while sitting in the carpool lane picking up the kids, I even propped my kindle up and read it while cooking dinner. There was no pulling me away from Logan and Bella. I'm pretty sure if someone had tried, I would have looked like a rabid crazy lady.
Having lived a good life, but a life still filled with loss, Logan loves his MC brothers and has no desire to settle down with one woman any time soon. Bella is busy just trying to get by and get herself and her sister out of their mother's house. After a disastrous morning that results in her being unemployed she's saved by a biker and given a job at their shop, where she meets Logan. Soon Logan is tied up in knots over her, and maybe settling down doesn't seem quite so bad.
From the very first moment these two meet the sparks are flying. The immediate chemistry between them was perfect! I adored how Logan was with her even when he wasn't sure about taking that next step. He was a perfect blend of a badass biker while being protective and downright sweet with Bella.

This is an MC story that started off strong but then moved too slow to keep pace with the plot. Undaunted has a lot of promise because it is an MC Romance and it has intense, emotional scenes that will hook you in. Bella the heroine is one strong woman and the things she has been thru, wow, I don’t know how I would still be standing but this woman is independent, sassy, giving, and loyal, especially to her family. Logan the hero is one man that I think fits for Bella- he knew Bella was for him and he was gunning for her heart once he made up his mind she was his. Their relationship was complex and filled with intense chemistry and passion.
My issue with this story is that everything was told and then retold. I didn’t feel like things needed to be retold . I love MC stories and this is filled with alpha bad boys and sassy women…..I loved the secondary cast of characters. I loved Bella and Logan…my only true issue was the pace and retelling. Other than that, this was a phenomenal book and I look forward to seeing what is to come by this author.

Logan and Bella's story was entertaining because of the intriguing rollercoaster ride going on in the backstory. Nope, I didn't read the series in order but it really didn't matter much. Demetri Alexander Volkov's story is revealed concerning his son, VP Logan and it ends pretty well. I'm very curious about Logan's half brother, Nikolai. The Sergeant at Arms, Quinn is still my favorite secondary character because he's the comic relief when the storyline gets too dark and intense. All in all, I'm really enjoying the world of The Kings of Retribution MC and looking forward to reading Gabriel and Alba's story next!

First time author for me. I love me some MC romance and got this one for free so figured I'd give it a try. Pretty good book. Something is missing and I can't figure it out but it's a good enough book to continue the series.
This is Logan's and Bella's book. He is the VP of the club and she is a young, early twenties beautiful woman. She lives at home helping her mother out and takes care of her younger sister. She also has a deadbeat stepfather who is less than worthless.

This was a fun read. It somehow managed to be a bit cheesy, suspenseful, super sweet, and sorta gritty all at the same time. It totally worked, but if someone had described it that way to me prior to reading it I don't think I would have believed it.

So this was a pretty standard MC romance for me. MCs aren't really my thing, they have too much slutty guys and women are treated like shit for doing the same thing. It's not usually for me. Most of that was relegated to the beginning of this one so it wasn't horrible.
The best thing about this for me was the story line. It was interesting and I liked that the romance was a slow burn. The two mains were pretty cute once they got together. It was also successful in evoking a lot of feelings for me which I always give props to an author for.
I thought the hero, Logan, was pretty flat. I think that his main personality characteristic was that he had one green eye and one blue. Plus, I'm supposed to believe this kid is 25? He's the VP of the entire club, owns a house, and acts way too mature to be a 25 year old. I just didn't believe that.
There is a large time period at the end (like maybe 3-6 months) where the heroine just shuts the hero out. I understand she went through something traumatic but I felt like she was inadvertently taking it out on Logan. It was probably realistic, but hey, I don't read romances for realism.

This book was so much like breathing in fresh air, something so new and refreshing with so much love and passion behind it.

I can't remember how I came across this series, but now that I have started reading it, I can't put it down.
Undaunted, the first book in The Kings of Retribution MC, Montana Chapter series by Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez, was an enjoyable read that has introduced me to new authors and a new series.
Even though the story has been explored many times before, the writing style was addictive enough to keep me turning the pages. It didn't hurt that some of the characters were so charming that I couldn't stop myself from falling in love with them.
