Remember Me by Romily Bernard
Book Two of the Find Me series
Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication Date: September 23, 2014
Rating: 4 stars
Source: eARC from Edelweiss

Official Summary:

In the sequel to Find Me, Wick Tate, sarcastic teen hacker, is back and once again dealing with criminals and corrupt cops…and a brooding new love interest. Will Wick persevere when some secrets refuse to stay hidden?

Wick had thought her troubles were over.

But she should’ve known better.

Not only is she embroiled in a new murder case, which starts with a body with “Remember Me” carved into it and doesn’t stop there, but she also discovers new evidence surrounding her mother’s suicide…which leads her right back to her imprisoned deadbeat dad. And she has to deal with her flirty new hacker friend, Milo, sniffing around—which her boyfriend, Griff, isn’t too happy about.

The pressure might be too much as secrets—including Wick’s own—climb to the surface.

Remember Me is an edge-of-your-seat thrilling read that’ll have readers turning the pages at lightning speed! The paperback of Find Me is on sale simultaneously, and a digital original novella from Romily, featuring Griff, is on sale just a few weeks before!

What I Liked:

I have to be honest - I don't remember very much of book one. Not because it was bad or anything - I was on the blog tour for Find Me a year ago... a year is a long time for forget lots of things. Around this time last year, I was acclimatizing to my freshman year of college, falling for a boy whom I knew would break my heart, getting ready for midterms... so honestly, I didn't really remember much from the first book. And I thought the first book was a standalone, so I was really content with the ending, and didn't really commit details to memory.

Nevertheless, Bernard made it really easy for me to read this one with no trouble. It was totally okay that I didn't recall details from book one - I remembered the gist of things, but most names and events went over my head. Bernard introduced and reintroduced information in a way that I found helpful, with all the holes in my brain.

Wick thought she was finished with Carson and his work for her. But he blackmails her, and she starts working for him, on a new and dangerous project. Murders pile up, and Wick discovers new details about her mother's death, and Griff is pulling away from her, and everything is supposed to be great but nothing is.

The beginning of this one was slow. I remember I was at like, 18%, and thought I was much farther in than that. But after that, things really pick up. I found myself interested in Wick's mother's death, and in Milo. Those two "things" kept my interest in this book. I knew there was more to the mother's death than a suicide.

So this book balances many things - Wick's work for Carson, Wick's discovery of information on her mother's death, Wick's relationship with her adoptive mother, Bren, with Griff, with Milo. These relationships are confusing, not clear-cut at all. I love that Bernard crafted this book not only into a thriller, but a novel that explored relationships and the "real" things of life.

I also really liked how Bernard crafted Wick psychologically. Wick really is damaged, but she doesn't want to see herself as that way. She doesn't want Griff or Lily or Bren to look at her as tainted or evil or damaged. She doesn't like being dependent on anyone, but she'd rather be dependent on Carson because at least he can protect the ones she loves. At least she can do the work he wants with ease. Supposedly.

The story has high stakes, danger, murder, threats, anguish. I was literally on the edge of my bed in some scenes, like when Wick was breaking into the judge's office, or when Baines was in the house with Wick and the neighbor intervened. Bernard really made my heart pound!

The romance... well, I'm not entirely sure what to say about the romance. At first, I thought this series was a duology. So I thought that the direction that the author took the romance was weird, and rushed. But then I saw that there will be another book, and all was right in the book.

So here's the thing: there is a sort-of love triangle in this book. BUT HOLD ON. I actually think it works in this case. Griff loves Wick, Wick loves Griff, but the thing is... them drifting apart, it totally feels natural, like it was supposed to happen. They are SO DIFFERENT. Griff does not understand. Don't get me wrong, I like him a lot, and I totally ship them... but I ship Wick and Milo more.

Nothing really romantic happens between Wick and Milo. But it's there. And honestly, I'm feeling that relationship more than Griff and Wick, at this point. I don't know what the author will do, and it won't be the end of the world either way (I like both boys, and I know that Wick doesn't know what she wants in general, so I don't really care).

When I read this book, I had no idea that there would be a book three. I went on Goodreads and saw an entry for a "Trust Me"... I'm really excited about this. The author ended the epilogue of this book very dramatically. I cannot wait!!

What I Did Not Like:

I mentioned that the beginning was boring - it really was though. I was thinking, darn, this is a tour book, I can't just set it aside until I'm in the mood. But the book god better as it went along. So, a word of caution. The story dragged a lot in the beginning - just keep going!

Would I Recommend It:

If you like high-stakes thrillers, then this series in general is definitely a good one! I'm glad I decided to join the tour for this book (I wasn't intending on doing so - I was completely content with just reading book one and moving on with life).

Rating:

4 stars. I wasn't dying to read this book, but now that I've read it, I cannot wait to read book three!!

How long do I have to wait for the next book?

Remember Me is book two in the Find Me series and to say that I have been looking forward to this one since I finished Find Me is probably an understatement. I loved that book mostly because of the characters (don’t get me wrong, the story was great) and I was excited to see them return in this second book. I will do my best to not include any spoilers here but don’t get mad at me if you see something you didn’t want to know.

Wick is still her usual sarcastic, computer nerd self and I love her. She is one of those characters that, if I knew her in real life, I would want to be friends with her. Her inner dialogue is awesome and I literally laughed out loud by page 13 (when you read it, you will know) and my sister looked at me like I was a bit crazy. Regardless, she happens to be on my list of favorite characters and not only because of her wit. She is also smart, loyal, and is willing to do anything for the people she loves.

Griff is also back and super swoony and he makes me want to crawl into this book and hug him. Every time he calls her Wicked…*sigh*. Also, with Griff, Wick can be honest and show him what she is really going through. She even calls out how out of the blue he will say something that is completely unexpected and it makes her “melty.” I love that he can do that to her and she has accepted it for what it is…Griff being Griff. He is also willing to do anything to protect Wick even if he doesn’t really agree with what she is doing and, trust me, there is a lot she is doing in this book that he isn’t on board with. I can’t lie, a lot of my tags in the book are the swoony parts with Griff.

This book picks up with Wick being pulled into another mystery. Because of her past, Detective Carson is able to blackmail Wick into helping him close out cases…and she isn’t necessarily providing him information that she obtains legally. When he tells her he wants her to track someone she knows from her past, at first she tries to get out of it but when he starts to threaten her sister, Bren, and Griff, she knows she needs to do what he wants. What she agrees to is getting a tracking device on a guy named Baines and to do it, she has to go to a party with Bren for Judge Bay. Eventually she gets pulled into a murder investigation (by Carson) because the judge’s assistant is found murdered at the party.

While digging into this new case, a lot of other things are going on. One of the bigger items (to Wick at least) is she begins to find out more about her mother’s suicide and what really happened the night she died. Wick starts receiving videos of her mother’s interviews with the police from a while ago with some odd messages attached to them. As she digs deeper, she realizes that her mother isn’t just being questioned…there is more to it than that and the more she finds out about it, the more she realizes that it all ties back to her father and his “colleagues.”

As Wick begins to dig into things, she realizes she needs new equipment. You may be thinking…so what Erin, why is this important? WELL – it is important because this is where Griff introduces Wick to his computer guy – Milo. Let me be the first to say here that I don’t have a problem with Milo. As a character, he adds another layer to this story and I am very interested in learning more about him. With that said, I am not a huge fan of some things that happen. Now, don’t hate me here but I can’t say much around this because I don’t want to give all the things away.

As the story moves along, Wick finds out that some people aren’t exactly who she thought they were and she can’t control everything. Those around her also realize that they can’t change who Wick is and I have to say, things are all sunshine and unicorns in this book. If you are looking for a story that will take you through a number of emotions, contains quite a bit of action, sarcasm, and swoony bits, definitely check this one out. And if you haven’t started this series, you should go now. Book one was great and I have to say that after reading this book, the next one (Trust Me) has been put onto my “Can’t Frickin’ Wait” shelf.

I am sure I rambled a bit here but don't hold it against me...just know that when I do that it usually means I really enjoyed the book - which I did.

I was privileged enough to be able to beta read this book. I must say.. AMAZING SEQUEL!!!. Hold on tight guys cause you will be in for one bumpy and thrilling ride!

Review coming soon!!

UPDATE 5 + STARS!!!

Somehow I think I always knew I’d get arrested. I just never expected it to happen during Home Ec.

I just don't know how to put into words how amazing this book was!! It was thrilling and suspenseful. I craved reading it, to the point I found myself drifting in and out just day dreaming of what was going to happen.

Griff and Wick are just as lovely in Remember Me, if not more, than in Find Me. There is just something about Griff that makes me totally swoon, and boy do I swoon hard for him. Wick is just.. she's soo.. Gosh she is just so bad ass!! I seriously love the Sh*& right out of her. She is such a strong character that her walls that surround her are hard to crack. Even though there are little fissures that are threatening to bring her whole facade down around her feet, she fights tooth and nail to keep everything together. I love that about her. She is such a fighter, and never for herself. She's fights for her sister, for Griff, for her mother, anyone but herself. I can't wait to see what is going to happen to her next, I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see who is going to fight and protect her. I'm sure we are all willing to bet it will be Griff but then there's Myles.. Bahaha oh Myles! (I can't wait to see him get his own story.. Pretty Please Romily!!)

Griff lunges for him. “The hell are you doing here?”

“Saving your girlfriend’s ass.” Milo inspects Griff’s grip on his Tshirt like it’s some sort of interesting bug. “No extra charge, by the way.”

I found Remember Me to be fast paced and unrelenting in letting me put it down. I seriously thought about it when I wasn't reading it and when I was, I was so enthralled that there was no point to try and have a conversation with me. My boyfriend, thank God!, understands this need of reading Romily's books so he left me in my own world. And what a world Romily gave me.

There’s a bite of pain on the side of my face. He’s pressing the blade into my cheek and blood runs down my skin like tears.

Around every turn there is something new that shakes Wicks world, shakes mine even. There was the main story line that was very present and kept you guessing, but along with that, we get more information regarding Wick's mother which caused a lot more mystery. So many questions that need to be answered!! I flew through every page till the very end, which is maddening because I need the next one right now!! Why couldn't I have read it more slowly?? It wouldn't have been over so soon and making me have to wait longer.. Urrgg!!! SO DARN GOOD!!!

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this series!!!! I love all the twists and turns and the darkness that comes with it. It's not your fluffy teen read where boy and girl fall in love and deal with high school drama. It's filled with real bad guys who are after more then just your lunch money. These are adults who should be there to protect you and know between right and wrong. Remember Me is more about ones determination to protect those you love with every fiber of your being. To be able to stare fear in the face and over come it. To understand the choice of love over your own fear to be loved. It's such a fun and amazing book to read, with characters that are easy to love and root for. Everything just flows so smoothly with dark underlays which is one thrilling ride. GO READ THIS SERIES!!! I LOVE it soo much and need someone to vent with!!!!

Another kiss. This one’s hard and fast. By the time my fingers curl into his chest, it’s done.

He’s turning away.

Gone.

..... My heart rips open for Wick... Please I need the next book now!!

I did a little casting of my own. This is how I picture them in my head, but it always differs to everyone else.

WICKET
Wicket

I know that she is Blonde but I can't help but picture her as Brunette.. When I find a good Blonde photo I will post that one (im a little short on time right now)

GRIFF!!!
Griff

MYLES
Myles

Please, if you read this series, don't hesitate to send me a message.. I'm dying to talk to someone about all the twists and turns! Its soo soo sooo good!! I can't say that enough!!! I'm craving to read it...AGAIN... I've lost count how many times I've read it! =)

ENJOY!!!!

Konuşmalar, hareketler, her şey.
Belki bir sonraki kitabı severim diye diye üçüncü kitaba geçtim bakalım. O nasıl olacak?
Bu arada kitabın arka kapağında yazan cinayet kelimesine takılmayın. Polisiye bir kitap değil. Yakınından geçemez. Çok zorlarsam aksiyon kitabı olur. Ki çok aksiyon da yoktu. Olay örgüsü zayıftı. Sonu da beklenen bir sondu.

4.5 stars. Romily Bernard certainly never heard of sophomore slump, because this book had everything dialed all the way up. The action never stopped, the tension and fear, the rage at the destruction of Wick's mother, the trapped feeling at having to work for Carson,Wick's life after the events in Find Me is just as turbulent as ever. And it's really kind of sad, because for a while there, she let herself think "maybe, just maybe...." but nothing's ever that easy for her.

And honestly, I've been trying to write this review for the last 40 minutes without spoiling or giving too much away and it's not happening. You need to read this and if you started with Find Me, you have all the background you need.

The author does a fantastic job with her characters. They're vivid and engaging, flawed, realistic and sometimes make some really bad decisions. Wick is trying to decide who she wants to be, now that she isn't stuck where her criminal dad had her but she has this tiny place down deep that doesn't really believe she can be different. She's funny, sarcastic and newly vulnerable and sometimes she breaks my heart a little bit.

Griff is just as sweet as he was before and he really cares about Wick but he disappointed me somewhat.

This story introduces a new character I'm not at all happy with. Milo, about whom I've already stated DO NOT LIKE. Milo is Griff's computer builder, and he meets Wick when Griff takes her to get new equipment. Milo is a hacker fan of Wick's online persona and he's immediately making moves on Wick, in front of Griff. O.o Though this did piss me off, it's not my main problem with Milo. But I won't lie, Milo is intriguing and I'm interested to see where his character will go.

The plot was tight and exciting and kept me on the edge the whole time. Wick can really get herself into some spots where I'm not sure she can get out *and sometimes almost doesn't* but though I'm scared for her, I do enjoy seeing her get out by the skin of her teeth, even if it does usually end up costing her in other ways. And the ending here? I'm not feeling real confident that Wick isn't in deeper shit than ever. I've got Trust Me all lined up because I've got to know!

What do you do when you find an amazing sequel to an amazing first book? You throw a party that's what and you shout it from the rooftops about how amazing said book was.

So this is me, on the roof, screaming my head off.

Yep. I really did like this that much. I loved the thrill ride Find Me was but it was nothing compared to the twisty bumpy make me want to up chuck ride this turned out to be.

I liked Wicket in the first book, but I think I loved her in this book. So strong and brave even when she doesn't think that she is. She isn't just a pretty face that can hold her own in a fight, no, the girl is a downright computer genius. A smart girl that loves fiercely and is always trying to do the right thing even when the right thing isn't so black and white.

This was a fabulous sequel. It isn't often that we get really great second books in trilogies, or even series but this is one of them. One that really shows how much the author has grown as a writer and how much her characters in her stories are growing right along with her.

There were some twists and turns I didn't see coming and didn't even expect and some that I did but all of them just added to the mystery and overall feel of the story.

Once again Bernard created a wonderful cast of characters and an even better suspenseful action packed mystery and I loved every single minute of it.

I can only imagine what is in store for us in book three.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales

Quick & Dirty: Suspenseful sequel that I couldn’t put down! I loved every minute of this story and I would highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a great YA mystery!

Opening Sentence: Somehow I think I always knew I’d get arrested.

The Review:

Wick Tate thought that her life was finally going to be normal. Her criminal father is finally behind bars, her and her sister Lily got adopted into a loving family, and she has an amazing boyfriend that totally gets her. Things were looking good until Wick is dragged into another murder investigation. A body has been found with the words REMEMBER ME carved into it.

Wick doesn’t want to help solve anymore murder cases, but it looks like she doesn’t really have a choice. Detective Carson is requiring that she use her special hacker skills to help him and he is blackmailing her, threatening to harm her family if she refuses. As the pressure builds things start to unravel and Wick soon realizes that living a normal teenage life just isn’t in the cards for her. The past always has a way with catching up to you and Wick can’t seem to stop herself from pushing everyone she cares about away.

I loved Wick in the first book and I was so happy that I was able to be inside her head again. She is a snarky girl with lots of attitude, but she is also a very caring person that is always trying to do the right thing. You get to see a different side to her in this book which I really liked. She is finally in a stable environment and she doesn’t know how to handle it. There is a part of her that is really struggling with who she wants to be. Not everything in life is black and white, and the grey really has Wick confused. Her talents with the computer can help a lot of people, but it can also be used to hurt people. Deep down I think that Wick is a good person but with the situation she has been given it is hard to be perfect. I loved that she is so flawed, but that doesn’t stop her from always trying to be better. She doesn’t let many people into her life but she would do anything for the ones she does. I really respected Wick and she has quickly become one of my favorite heroines!

Griff is just as charming as ever and I didn’t think it was possible for me to love him more but I was wrong. He is someone that you can really look up to because he is such a good person. He looks for the best in people and doesn’t let his anger get the better of him. But his best moments are when he is with Wick! He is very protective of her and he is supportive even when he doesn’t agree with what she is doing. They have extremely hot chemistry and I personally think they are perfect for each other. But their relationship has some obstacles that come up throughout the story and I am really hoping that they can work through them.

I will be honest, I wasn’t very happy at first that there was another boy competing for Wick’s heart, but Milo quickly grew on me. He is very similar to Wick and in a way understands her like no one else can. He is gorgeous, funny, and very intelligent. He brings out a more dangerous side to Wick that was interesting to see. I think that Milo is really good for Wick because he gives her an opportunity to choose who she really wants to be. Milo definitely isn’t Griff, but he has some great qualities and ended up being a great asset to the story.

Remember Me was an action packed mystery that was impossible to put down. I really enjoyed Find Me, so this story had some pretty big shoes to fill, but it lived up to all my expectations. The plot was full of suspense and the ending totally took me by surprise. I instantly reestablished my connection with all the old characters and quickly grew to love all the new ones. Bernard’s writing style is very engaging and I have become a huge fan of her work. The only negative thing I have to say is the ending was complete torture, and I don’t know how I am going to wait a whole year to read the last book. I would highly recommend this series to all mystery fans, it is one of my favorites in this genre!

Notable Scene:

Two women crash into me and I stumble. Bren’s pulling me away, but I can’t stop staring. I can’t believe what I’m seeing.

It’s a dead woman.

She’s dressed like an angel and propped into a sitting position underneath Bay’s enormous grinning photo graph. More people plow into us, running for the door, and Bren tugs me close, using one palm to shield my face from the sight. Too late. I close my eyes and the curl of body blooms behind them. The dead girl’s dress is torn halfway off, her chest is bloody, but you can still read the words someone carved:

REMEMBER ME.

FTC Advisory: Harper Teen provided me with a copy of Remember Me. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

3.5 stars! Engrossing and suspenseful, this sequel to Find Me once again delivers with the uber cool hacker chick Wick Tate on a mission to .... well, she has many -- find out if her mother really committed suicide, protect her little sister and foster mom from threats, and mostly get her life back instead of working for unscrupulous people like her dad (now in jail) and even a vigilante cop.

It's not so cool being inside Wick's head where she lets loose all her fears and frustrations. There's a lot of miscommunication between her and Griff, her boyfriend, and a new guy Milo who admires her hacking skills.

While Griff seems disappointed in Wick's choices, Milo sees in her a better version of himself. The tension peaks when Wick chooses to once again sacrifice her happiness in order to protect the ones she loves.

Just when I thought it was over, there's another sequel!!

Remember Me is the sequel to the amazing thrill ride that was Find Me and as I expected, this second installment had just as much action and mystery as its predecessor, maybe even more so. But, Wicket Tate is not the same girl that she was in Find Me which is to be expected given everything that she goes through in the first book. She is left changed by her traumatic experiences and she is now suffering from PTSD and a whole lot of trust issues, but who wouldn’t be if they had suffered everything that she has in her short life. In the end, it will only make her stronger, she just has to figure that out for herself.

Like I said above, there is a whole lot of action and mystery happening in this book and you don’t get warmed up to it. No, we get thrown in within the first couple of chapters and that’s just the way I like it ;) Wicket is working on something for Carson when she gets a little too involved with a murder case, not to mention there’s new things that are turning up about her mother’s suicide. Wick is in for something that could prove to be more dangerous than she originally thought.

Can I just say that I love how strong Wick is? If I had her upbringing and if I had to endure everything that she and Lily have, I probably still wouldn’t be standing, let alone fighting back. But it seems that everything that happens to her only makes her stronger as a person and hopefully one day she won’t have to keep fighting back, that she won’t have anyone to fight.

If you’ve read the summary for this book then you know that it mentions a “brooding new love interest” and while I was a little apprehensive at first, I actually really enjoyed the ‘brooding new love interest’. Maybe even more than Griff (don’t hate me!). Unfortunately, I just wasn’t too impressed with Griff in this installment. Maybe that will change, maybe it won’t, I’ll just have to wait until I read Trust Me to find out.

Remember Me is an action packed thrill ride that will leave you guessing while hanging on to the edge of your seat the entire time. If you were a fan of the first book then I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with this one because it’s just as engrossing and captivating as the first book.

I loved Find Me, so when I found out there was going to be a sequel (or two) I nearly screamed with joy. The first book in this series was fast-paced and super creepy, and I was totally looking forward to more with the second instalment. Remember Me was fantastic; it lived up to my expectations and soared even further. Never mind that I read the first book around a year ago– the details are still so clear in my head, and let me tell you: that never happens. I’m a sucker for shocks and twists in a story, and this series definitely has them.

This novel introduces something that’s usually a turn-off when done wrong: a love triangle. Honestly, they don’t bother me if it’s excellently executed but sometimes it just works. Luckily, in this case, it was so good. Like honestly, I love Griff, but holy moly there’s something about a smokin’ hot bad boy. I was so torn between Griff and Milo, and I know there’s going to be a whole show-down in the final book, so I’m ecstatic to see who she’ll actually end up. I liked how the events of Find Me has changed the family dynamic. I won’t say too much because that would kinda give away what’s happened in the first book, but it’s really interesting to see how it’s changed Wicket and Lily.

Like with the first book, I did not see the ending coming. I had no idea it would be the person it turned out to be, but wowie. Definitely a huge-ass twist that will knock your socks off. A lot more spy-like action happens in this book which is also really cool, but generally the different events that occur all come together and creates one mind-blowing conclusion that had my mouth wide open in disbelief.

I found myself reading Remember Me non-stop– it’s a gripping sequel that lives up to it’s predecessor and I’m desperate to get my hands on the next in series. Romily Bernard weaves together a thrilling story that only gets better with every word. I can’t wait for Trust Me!

After loving Find Me, I was super excited, although a little wary, to start Remember Me. I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure where else the story could go! However, the quick introduction of a fantastic plot and a cast of awesome characters assured me that Wick's tale was far from finished.

First of all, I really love Wick. Sure, she had her flaws, but I love how she is so different from the average YA heroine. She is a hacker, an outcast in some ways, and is not a "nice" teenage girl. She is not afraid to stoop to her enemy's level. Her sister and adoptive mom are very important to her, and she does whatever she can to protect them. The author gave Wick strengths, imperfections, and uniqueness.

Other important characters included Detective Carson, Griffin, and Milo. I really, really, really disliked Carson. I can't believe all the things he put Wick through!!! Next we have Griffin, Wick's love interest. He is really sweet and all that. However, Milo, to me, seems to understand Wick better. By the way, Milo Gray is an amazing new character that has a thing for Wick. He's way more fun than Griffin, so I am definitely on Milo's side! So far though, nothing has really happened between him and Wick.

The plot was really awesome as well. There is so much stuff jammed in: Wick's mother's suicide, a mysterious message, video tapes, deaths, Judge Bay, and lots of other stuff! I was in the tips of my toes the entire time, and flew through the pages. However, the ending was pretty cruel. I wanted more!!!

I definitely recommend the Find Me series to anyone who loves mysteries, action, and dark, complex characters. I cannot wait for the third book, Trust Me.

4/5 Stars

""there are monsters living inside us and, sometimes, they win.""

Wow, what a twisted fun little mystery. We're back with Wick and Griff, now that the other situation's been handled...there's still one other issue that won't seem to go away.

And Wick is ready to get some answers and cut her ties for good. But this part of her life, this past, it can't seem to let her go. And to top it off, she's pulled in again to something she has to handle. But that "something" has ties to her past life - again pulling her into things she's trying to leave behind.

All of this coming back is making it very hard for her to keep everyone new in her life safe. She's having to dive deeper and get in deeper to keep them safe.

But are any of them really safe.

This one kept me guessing until the very end. And the big reveal was truly surprising. I'd guessed many, but I'd never guessed that one.

I can't wait for the next book!

Call me crazy, but I know a good story when I read one and this was a great story. Picked this up at my local thrift store. Didn't realize it was a Teen book. I don't read teen books because I am not a teen. I have limited time left to finish my five boxes of books. complex, fast paced a real page turner.

Loved this book, and like my friend, I don't care if it is a teen book, it was a faced paced, suspenseful, all characters come to life off the page, and you need to know what happens next.

This was definitely different from the first book. What really stuck out was how dark it is.

Honestly, this was one of my most anticipated books of this year and I been waiting for months to see if I had gotten an ARC of this and I am so very happy I did.

I could tell Romily's writing has been improving and getting more amazing because the scenes are more descriptive and with some, it gives you a creepy, 'feeling violated' feel to it. I love the suspense and the mystery in this. Normally I don't read thriller/mystery books but for this series, I HAVE to read it because it sucks you in and the ending is still not resolved or if the characters get a happy ending or not. It leaves you hanging and it makes you want to know what's in stored next or what the characters have to face next. (Plus she's a really great and nice person (: )

Remember Me brings back our main heroine, Wicket and her love interest/partner Griff. Carson is also back in this and he didn't change at all -well he did get more annoying and rude but nothing good about him. Now Lily and her are adopted by Bren after what happened with the first book. There is also a new character, Milo. Let me just say: Milo, I love him but GRIFF WILL ALWAYS BE MY ANSWER! SO I EXPECT SOME W&G ACTION IN THE NEXT BOOK.

So basically it starts out with a murder. Sudden right, but no. It was a perfect way to start the book. So with this murder, a dead woman is dressed like an angel, her dress is torn halfway off, and she has a bloody chest. Written on her is "REMEMBER ME". It's really creepy and it's really descriptive so I could actually picture it and it's not pretty at all

It seems that Wicket can't get a break from things. She's starting a new life, a new start then bam, someone gets murdered. Let's just say, a lot of bad stuff happened to her and on top of that, she's being blackmailed by Carson. That's just great. Griff doesn't approve of this but because of how honorable and sweet and nice he is, he follows through with Wick, but he still doesn't like it. Another thing Griff doesn't like, her new friendship with Milo. I'm on the same page with Griff on this. I like Milo as an individual. He's really charismatic and funny but with him and Wick, I say no. (You hear that Romily? #TEAMGRIFF :D)

Remember how in the last book, Wick ended up with Tessa Waye’s diary and who's dead? Well in this, she ended up with her dead biological mom's tapes when she was alive. Then she starts to see things differently and that's a whole other mystery.

Now for the ending. When I read who was behind all of this, I was like ecstatic because the person I suspected was involved. Then I was sad and confused on what was happening and before you know it, I'm crying and then it ends. You can say I'm conflicted. Right when I finished it, I tweeted to the author and let's just say, I am not satisfied until everyone gets a happy ending. (PLEASE LET THERE BE A HAPPY ENDING)

Overall, this sequel is worth checking out and Wicket's story isn't done just yet. So much happened and I do not know what to expect in the third book. Hopefully some Team Griff stuff and Wicket finally having a normal, happy, stress free life.

This was such a fast paced thriller of a book! From the beginning of the page I was hooked and could not put it down. I liked the suspense, I liked the action, I liked the mystery of who's who and who's trying to go after Wick. All of it was awesome, except for the characters.

Almost all of them were such hypocritical, judgmental people, especially to Wick. I felt they had no right to act that way with her. Here she is trying to start over, but she can't because so many people are blackmailing her and all she's doing is trying to protect them. They all turned their backs on her, Bren, Lily, and Griff. I can't believe the way they acted. It was as if they were different characters because they never acted like that in Find Me. Well Griff kind of acted that way with her, and I had a feeling things would go from bad to worse for them. As for Bren, I lost all respect for her. I liked her in the first book, but she completely changed. She said some harsh things to Wick that were totally uncalled for.

In Remember Me, Wick has lost some of her sarcastic banter because she is still dealing with the trauma of her foster dad, Todd. I sympathesized with her for the most part since she's coping a lot emotionally, but I felt she started to get a little too dark at moments. There were times I felt she should have been more opened with Griff and Bren because that might have helped them understand her more. She closed up quite a bit and I felt she should have taken Bren more seriously to take counseling. Counseling does help, and I felt that she completely ignored the situation of her stress.

That's not to say I didn't like her. I liked her when she would hang out with the new boy, Milo. Milo is the new love interest. He too is also a computer tech and lives on the wrong side of town like Wick. When she hung out with him, she became more of her old self again. She was comfortable, witty, and more confident when she was around him. I'm not sure if he is right for Wick, though. Yes he's charming and they're very much alike, but he's a little too obsessed with her. It almost border lined as stalkerish.

Overall, this was a really good book! I enjoyed it despite all the characters getting on my nerves. In this book, so many people are after her: Carson the dirty cop who is blackmailing her, the drug dealers and her father's henchman, and someone who is sending her messages about her deceased mother. She's dealing with that, all while trying to figure out this murder scene and ends up getting caught up in the webs of the murderer. This is one book that will leave you on the ends your toes with all of the suspense! Don't miss out on this awesome book. It is truly better than it's predecessor, Find Me!

Romily Bernard brings the sarcastic voice of Wicket Tate, who is sure to be loved by all teens alike. - Nova @ Out of Time

Romily Bernard's Find Me was one of my favorite books of 2013 so obviously, I'm so excited to have started reading Remember Me! Sometimes the 2nd book is worse than the first or sometimes they're better. Remember Me stayed about the same high quality level, which is great. However, if you notice the rating being half a star lower, it's because it's been a year since I read Find Me. My tastes have gotten a bit pickier and I've noticed more when critiquing. And when I explain, the reason for the missing half isn't too big of a deal.

I LOVE Wicket. I don't know if she really changed from the beginning of Find Me to the end of Remember Me, but I love her character. I think she's so hilarious and amazing. I can really connect with her sarcasm because it seems like she's got this outer shell and at the core, she's a genuine person who was had no choice to become a hacker (not that she doesn't have moments of liking her job) She seemed like such a complex character and a perfect one for this kind of story.

I also really liked how this book dealt with the aftermath of Find Me. I liked seeing how things changed after the events of the first book and it made such a big impact on the second book.

Plus, Remember Me only got twistier. I liked Find Me, but Remember Me had so many secrets and not going to lie, it ended with so many secrets still yet to be uncovered. Grr! I now have to wait for Book Three. I'm SO excited (Romily's books have a way of doing that to me)

The main thing in a book that gets ratings from me is feeling. I am not an overemotional person but I feel when feelings are needed. So if an author can invoke emotion out of me for their characters, it automatically brings up ratings. I don't think its an easy thing to write in a way and make me care for characters, but Romily did that. And she'll continue to do that. I felt so much for Bren (a mix of anger and sympathy which was so strange) and just really resonated with Wick. I was tearing my hair out at Griff and Wicket because of...reasons. And Milo, oh Milo. I need more of that guy. He's like a male Wicket which (duh) we really need!

So that reason it's a .5 missing? I feel like this book lacked description. I got some of it but there weren't evenly distributed sections. For me, it isn't a big deal (I don't imagine when I read, it's weird I know) I know for some, they'll find it annoying, but for me, it was something small but noteworthy.

All in all? I don't even need to sum up this review. Just go buy this book. Romily, please take my money!

Review: Romily Bernard is one of my all-time favorite authors, for many reasons! Shout out to you Rom! Glad I get to be a part of your team!
Romily has serious talent in the writing world. Her ability to bring a story to life is incredible and she never disappoints with her stories. Fined Me was good, I loved it, but it wasn’t perfect and I will be the first to admit that. Romily is back with her upcoming sequel to Find Me. Remember Me. Her writing only got better. Remember Me, abbreviated: RM, brings back our beloved Wicket and her dreamy partner Griff. Carson is also back and his attitude hasn’t improved. Hah! Bren and Lily are still as sweet as can be, although we do see Bren’s demeanor crumbling on Wick. We are also introduced to a new character, which in my opinion tops ‘em all right now, Milo. As you can see this book is filled with some old and some new, but I have to say that RM just did it for me. It really was amazing.
PLOT: I will try not to give anything away about the plot, so let me be brief about how much I loved the plot. Wicket’s world is getting smaller and she’s finding herself trapped in a corner. She is still being blackmailed into helping Carson and Griff isn’t pleased. Griff also doesn’t appreciate the newfound friendship between Wick and charismatic Milo. Wick is receiving information about her mom that she could never have imagined to be true until now. This subplot keeps us from never having a dull moment in the book. And of course the main plot begins with someone being brutally murdered and continues along with Wick having to figure out who done it (as us Texans say). If you like suspense then this is the book for you!
CHARACTERS: Wicket’s character hasn’t changed. Her motives, attitude, moral, and situations are pretty much the same. Although I will say she has grown some. She has learned to take better care of herself. But her low expectation of people remains the same and I rightly so. Griff’s character got a bit whiny and dramatic, but again you can’t really blame him. But I think he should also have been more supportive of Wick. We are all flawed….I suppose. Carson and Milo are my favorite characters. I love the beauty and complexity of their characters. They don’t just act upon emotion. They act more upon instinct and importance of the matter at hand. Milo and Carson are so vital to the story and you don’t even realize it because they aren’t necessarily “good guys.” It’s so easy to just miss the importance and integrity they bring to the story.
I’m so glad I got to read RM and I encourage all to read it when it comes out! Rom is an amazing new author who deserves the spotlight.

REMEMBER ME is amazing. Truly and honestly so good. For so many reasons, and I will try my best to explain them all but I might be here for 3 days and I still have a BEA schedule to plan.. So here are a few..

This book is the perfect sequel to Find Me, the amazing debut by Romily Bernard. It picks up shortly after book 1 ends. The thing I loved the most about RM is that it is a whole new story. We have a new plot with new characters and new sides to the characters we have come to know and love. Sometimes I think authors drag out a plot line across 3 books un-necessearily because they have neither the talent or time to create something new and complex. What Romily does here is build off of the characters and consequences of book 1 and take us down a new path in book 2. This to me works wonderfully.

Our Wicket is not the same girl she was in Find Me and how can she be? She has suffered a traumatic and life changing event and instead of chugging along like nothing ever happened she is left changed by her experiences. Ya know like a real person? She is suffering from PTSD and anxiety and is having major trust issues. This is something i really enjoyed but was also the hardest part about reading this book. As someone who has suffered from anxiety and PTSD this really hit a nerve for me, so much so that at times I had to put the book down and take a breather. Romily is such an amazing writer i felt as though what happened to Wick was happening to me. It was intense and at times uncomfortable but to me a good book is something that makes you feel something, and sometimes thats not all butterflies and flowers. Sometimes its heartbreak and anger and man did I feel it in this book! So hats off to Ms Bernard for her powerful writing!!

A lot of the people have changed besides Wick. Especially Griff and while there is a minor tease for a "potential love triangle" it was fun and not really that true of a triangle. I want to punch Griff in the face honestly, I feel like he spent a lot of the book making some bad choices and I was disappointed in a lot of them but I'm hoping he gets his act together. Also I feel like there had to be some sort of bad effect on their relationship because if Wick was falling apart every where else but her and Griff were all lovey dovey perfect it wouldn't have worked for me. I think he was being a total asshole and the ending left me gutted There is a mild cliff hanger but nothing to bad..

Romily has made it onto my "I will read anything by _____" List.. I'm really looking forward to Trust Me!

This is the second mystery-thriller featuring Wicket Tate, teen computer hacker extraordinaire. Wick hoped her troubles were over when she helped catch the man stalking her little sister; unfortunately, the man was their foster father who is now in prison for nearly killing Wick. Life should be great since Wick and her little sister, Lily, were officially adopted by their foster mom Bren. Yet she is still being hassled by Detective Carson who has her committing cyber crimes to assist his investigations. Wick only works with him to keep Lily and Bren safe as he frequently threatens to have them removed from Bren’s home.

Wick’s relationship with her boyfriend Griff is rocky as he wants her to stop working with Carson. Tensions escalate after Wick finds herself in the middle of a new murder case that seems to lead back to her imprisoned father. When Griff introduces Wick to Milo, a flirtatious hacker who is wowed by Wick’s skills, the couple’s romance derails. Wick hopes to finally free herself from Carson’s clutches but knows doing so puts her on a dangerous path. As if those weren’t enough issues, someone begins leaving DVDs for Wick that reveal interviews her mother gave the police shortly before her suicide. Who is following Wick? Are they trying to help Wick or distract her from her own investigations? How can Wick protect herself and her little sister when she doesn’t know who to trust?

Teens will enjoy this fast-paced story (with a little romance) and keep reading to learn if Wick has the resources to figure out who the killer is and how her own family is connected. This series is perfect for those who like dark sarcastic wit intermixed with their mysteries.

This book terrified me, made me giddy, and broke my heart pretty much all at the same time.

Romily Bernard has an excellent writing style and it's very clear she does her research! There's all kinds of computer and hacker lingo that comes across very well and makes it clear that now only is our heroine Wick fluent in binary but Romily knows a thing or two as well. The writing and the language is very well done!

The characters are also wonderful! I really like Wick because she has a lot of demons that she's dealing with but all she really wants is for the people she loves to be safe, and that is very clearly seen in this novel. Everything Wick has to do, no matter how much she may love it or hate it, she does for her family and for Griff, the boy she loves.

The only thing that bothered me in this book was the introduction of Milo. He was pretty cool, but I am seriously not a fan of love triangles when I already adore the first love interest. In this case, it's Griff. I really like Griff, and it's clear how much he loves Wick, which is why it's so frustrating when another boy is thrown in the mix! It's understandable however, that it adds to the plot and the tension of the book, and it gives Wick the opportunity to figure out what she wants, not only concerning her love life, but what she wants out of life as a whole.

Overall, I loved this book! The mystery was terrifying, the romance parts were wonderful, and Wick is just as awesome as she was in Find Me!

Go read Find Me if you haven't and then get Remember Me when it comes out on September 23rd because you don't wanna miss out on this series!

I really enjoyed Find Me, the first book in this series, but Remember Me just seemed like more of the same, bringing nothing new to the table.

Wick is still working for Carson, because she has no choice. He knows too much about her. They are after another bad guy and Wick is using her hacking skills to help Carson. Griff and Wick are still a couple, but Griff doesn't understand why Wick won't stop helping Carson. He doesn't like what Wick does.

I enjoyed the scrapes Wick gets into, and how she works her way out of them. The individual situations have tension and are entertaining. I like Wick, and I really like the new character, Milo.

What I really had problems with is the overall supposed danger that Wick's family and friends are in. We are told, every few pages, that Wick is doing all this to keep her new mom, Bren, and her sister, Lily, and Griff safe. We are TOLD that. But the danger never seems real. I just felt like she could have gone to some grownups and told them her situation and they could have helped. But, then we wouldn't have this story. So there's that.

As in Find Me, I suspected who the bad guy was about halfway through. It's a bit disappointing, but I still enjoyed the rest of the story, and there was another big surprise that I didn't suspect at all.

The epilogue (titled "What Happened After") is a lead up to the next book, and I just didn't buy it. And I didn't buy that Bren would be so gullible.

I'm being a bit picky because I did enjoy reading Remember Me. The scenarios were creative and the resolution exciting. I just couldn't get into the deep dark danger that is the impetus for the whole story.

THIS THRILLER WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!

The first installment of the series, FIND ME, was excellently plotted and well-written. It was thrilling and kept you guessing and wanting to read more. But when I started this brilliant sequel, REMEMBER ME, I was so stressed out I didn't know what to do with myself! From chapter 1, it had me hooked. It's easy to read, easy to understand, and HARD to put down!

Some thriller sequels tend to leave behind what happened in the previous book, starting a fresh new story and plot. But this book took things from the last book and kept them going. All the trauma that Wick went through in book one comes back to haunt her in a very real and relatable way. Through that, we get to see deeper into Wick's mind and emotions as she overcomes fear and faces the obstacles that keep appearing in front of her.

This book also had LOTS of suspenseful moments that made my heart beat wildly. It contains lots of situations that put Wick in danger and nearly cause a collapse in her life.

Did you like Griff from FIND ME? Well he's back! But will he have the same amount of understanding he had in the previous book? Will he get over all the things that Wick caused and forgive? Will he be able to keep Wick's heart from wandering to anyone else?

REMEMBER ME is filled with more action, suspense, and thrill than I've read in a long time! It blows FIND ME out of the water, and FIND ME used to be my favorite thriller. Not after I read this though.

You should definitely give this book a shot!

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to HarperCollins and Edelweiss.)

This was an okay story, and I did like it a little more than the previous book in the series, but in general, I don’t think this author’s books are a right fit for me.

I did like Wick a little more in this book compared to the first one. I felt quite sorry for her and the way she was obviously being targeted. It was bad enough that she was being hounded by a police detective, never mind being victimised by other people!

The storyline in this was okay, but I think the writing style is just not for me. I found the pacing a little slow, and while I wanted to know what would happen, the story itself irritated me somehow. I can’t even put my finger on what exactly it was that made this story less enjoyable for me, but it just didn’t do it for me, and it struggled to hold my attention because of that.

The ending to this was okay, but I was glad to be finished really. I’m glad that I gave this book a chance to be better than the first, but I think that really this author’s books are maybe just not for me.
Overall; okay story, but not really for me,
6 out of 10.

Really well plotted, though I found the stuff with Wick's parents and their sketchy friends and the police much more interesting than the murders. As in the last book, I guessed the murderer right off, because But the way that all the resolution in the murders is kind of info-dumped at the end wasn't ideal.

The love triangle. Sigh. I have really mixed feelings about that. I thought the part where she

It sounds like I'm complaining, but I am crazy about books like this and just want them to be perfect. I love the new direction things seem to be taking, plot-wise, for book three, but not very excited for all the love triangle drama that I think is also coming along with it.

Well 2nd in the series and I love them; you always seem to get more info and more background because the base of the story has already been written! So when seen this one up for review I grabbed it. This one was one journey filled trill ride that’s for sure!

I think Romily did a good job in her second installment in the Find Me series. She kept you guessing and wondering what was going to happen. I really love murder cases, they are very interesting to me so when Wick had to yet again figure out who was killing I couldn’t stop! So much happens, with more evidence coming to light on her mother’s suicide and Wick having to deal with Milo the new hacker.

I sure do not want to have to deal with all that drama, I really felt for Wick. I am glad she had Giff he was a good balance to the story I just love him. Wick’s attitude is awesome I just love her and loved her even more in this one. I got to see more of her and what she was feeling.

If you are looking for something action filled, lots of adventure with some mystery mixed into it well then these are the books for you! I can’t wait to see what is next!

I don't know what to say about this. Obviously from the high reviews, I'm in the minority.

I feel like Wick is a different person. Yeah, some serious shit went down on the first book. I'm sure the fact that she's not dealing with any of it doesn't help, but she was much darker. I struggled with trying to find a reason to root for her.

I've never been a fan of the "I'm pushing you away to protect you" plot line, and that's alllllll over the place here. The situation with Griff bummed me out and Milo just seems fanatically creepy. Even Bren isn't the same.

Don't get me wrong, the plot was really fast paced and interesting. With that ending, I'm guessing it'll be a trilogy. I'm just not sure if I'll be reading another book in the series.
