It’s a very emotional book.
Strong stubborn heroine. I enjoyed her a lot. I love a woman, who can hold a mean grudge *lol*
This heroine is not for everyone, she is not a doormat (and since they are so popular in CR I guess many readers can be annoyed with her). I wasn’t. I take them in all colors except for doormatish!
She had so many great moments, for my taste of course.
I understood and totally supported her ‘hate’ for the hero. His behavior and ‘image’ called for such disdain (and not for brainless fanaticism from female character, which many other authors like to use – he treats her as trash and she gets horny -> NOT the case in this book!). Yes, she liked him for years, she was attracted to him, but not to the level it bothered me. And hell yeah, she wasn’t a virgin! *happy dance*
Why not more stars? First, 3.5 stars in my rating scale is pretty high. Second, despite I liked the book I still stick to my morals:
- he wasn’t celibate after he met her 10 years ago. He became a manho (no scenes with OW though). Call me a weirdo, but I don’t buy love & Co, when a man lusted after one woman, but f*cked many others.
- she became pregnant after ONS without protection. Hell no! Condom is a must! They didn’t use them once. Why? Because he was of course clean, despite being with #xxx OWs?
- the story about her brother / his BFF. It didn’t sit well with me, that they both didn’t fight for him till the end. Dito for his sister: I could understand why H didn’t trust this girl, when he met her for the 1st time, but then it was way too cruel. Addiction is a very hard topic, so I’d rather skip my opinion.
- her forgiveness to her father. Hmm, yes-ok, but I needed more background of their relationship
It didn’t bother me, that she hid H’s kid from him. I know many of my friends hate this scenario, but I don’t. Under certain circumstances, it’s a right decision not to involve the ‘donor’. The H wasn’t that bad, but due to the whole situation and everything what happened, I understood why the h did it.
Safety: after their ONS they were both celibate. No OW drama. Light OM drama with h’s friend, who supported her during and after the pregnancy. I kinda liked him, it’s a shame they made him to villain.
I assume there is a next book about H’s sister and his friend?

Second Shot was the second book in the Men with Wood series by CM Seabrook. It was a true stand-alone from the first book in the series.
Brynne Jacobs and Kane Madden have history. Brynne’s father was Kane’s NHL Hockey coach. Great coach, not so great father. At the start of the story, a tragedy was revealed which became the center of the plot between Kane and Brynne.
Second shot was told from a double POV including both past and present. Overall, it was well written, well developed and a complex plot. For me, it was a tough subject and the parts of the story I didn’t like had nothing to do with the writing, but what I personally craved for the direction of the story. Frankly, I didn’t like Brynne. If you feel the same, stay with it to see it through. It was actually a realistic perspective. In the end, I was hooked, read it straight through and loved how Seabrook took us to the end.
I’m leaving the details vague so you can experience the events as they happen without spoilers. The description of the book was only the foundation. The story itself was bigger, more complex and multi-faceted. A worthy read.
Lastly, the author was simultaneously developing the next story in the series, Second Goal, focusing on Blake and Kylie. I can’t wait to get started.

It's me, not the book. It's a personal reading preference.
The writing is great, the hero is amazing, the heroine is exasperating. She makes the hero out to be the villain in her life because it's better than admitting her feelings for him. It's like a defense mechanism. Thing is, he's utterly perfect, inside and out. The ideal hero. Selfless and kind. So it's very frustrating seeing her push him away from the start and treating him like crap. I usually don't care why a baby is kept secret from the hero because either way, I enjoy the angsty trope. But in this one, I truly felt sorry for the hero. He deserved so much better than this girl.

If you asked me if there is anything I would change about this story, my answer would be '"Absolutely nothing." Simply put, Second Shot was pure perfection!
There wasn't a thing I didn't love about it. My heart was completely invested in this story, with these characters.
It's about second chances, and new beginnings. There's push and pull between the characters, more push because Kane know what he wants, and that's Brynne and their son. Nothing will stop him from being with them.
If you're look for a great hockey romance to read, look no further, Second Shot is it!
And it's official, it's tied with Melting Steel for my favourite C.M. Seabrook book. What can I say? Kane Madden is a pretty persuasive guy. 😉

Another wonderful story from C.M.!
I think what I liked most about this story was the history Brynne and Kane shared. It gave them a unique connection, and I just love when a backstory is part of THE story!
And holy smokes, does this book start off on a hot note! But it doesn't stop there. C.M. sprinkled hotness in the perfect amount throughout the story, but these aren't just straight-up love scenes. These are LOVE scenes packed with emotion.
This book touches on some pretty heavy issues, namely drug addiction, but the darkness of those situations makes the positive outcomes that much more enjoyable.
I loved Kane's interactions with his son, Noah. They were very endearing, and while I usually don't like reading kids in romances, I liked what Noah added to this story and the role he played in Brynne and Kane's relationship.
I can't wait for more books from C.M.!!!

C. M. Seabrook absolutely scores with this book. A second chance romance/enemies to lovers that's so much more. The chemistry is electric, the emotions are raw and real, and Kane Madden is everything an alpha book-boyfriend should be: broody, possessive, protective, and wickedly hot.
Second Shot tugs at so many emotions and captures you from the very first page. It's now tied with Second Draft as my favorite C. M. Seabrook book! It's everything I wanted and more than I knew I needed. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Five stars!
Evelyn Marcail does a good job narrating. I think I preferred her 'male' voice to her regular voice lol. There were moments that it was hard to differentiate between characters, but you quickly get lost in the story and it's not a huge distraction. Definitely worth the listen.

Seven years ago, Kane moved into Brynne's house. He is a Hockey player just like her brother and her father is their coach.
Kane is a cocky and arrogant son of a gun. He is the golden Boy, loved by the coach, probably even adored. He teases Brynne whenever he can but what she doesn't know is that he also hides from her, tries to get her to dislike him and is doing a good job at that.
And her brother Sam? Boy, he lets himself goooo and Kane doesn't help him in any way, which is disappointing. In fact, Brynne even thinks Kane is the one pulling him down. Drugs, booze,...
And then we have got the coach who has been a terrible father. He used words as his weapon and left a mess behind.
Several years later, Brynne gives into her attraction to Kane even though she hates him. And as you know by now, I dislike that behavior immensely. Don't tell me you hate him and then have him, girl! Anyways, there is no safe sex (even though he is a notorious player!!¡! which is soooo irresponsible!!!). And that happens even though Brynne still thinks the worst of him. Drama ahead!! Cause Kane still doesn't tell her the truth!!
That's the start and I wasn't really fond of It. But hey to be continued...
Unfortunately, it didn't really get much better. The heroine is pretty spineless, gives into attraction super easily, tells herself she won't react to him and does exactly that.
The plot was way too rushed and I definitely missed the romance. The MCs make up way too quickly and there is sex before they have really figured out what stood between them. Then there are accusations and heavy arguments. I detested the hero for slicing into Brynne, for accusing her of pushing him away - he is the one who didn't tell her the truth, who didn't tell her the truth even then!! I detested him for calling her stubborn and sure, she judged him based on her observation but isn't that something we all do? Not once did he tell her his side of the story sooo why would she trust him? I sure as hell wouldn't! And yet he wants that even though he hasn't earned the right.
Brynne is insecure and scared and I get her! I do! She has been left in the dark for years and noone cares to tell her the hidden secrets so how dare he fight her on her opinions?
Another thing that really bothered me was the past with her brother. We never get to know what really happened, why noone helped him,... Especially the father who knew about everything!! That was all just glossed over. Not okay for me.
And last but not least, Brynne forgives her father and I had to scream. This man destroyed her and her brother and I don't care what f*ed-up reasons he had!! I couldn't even look at him. But na for Brynne it's all fine and sure it takes them a while to rebuild their relationship but she wants to do it. My main problem was that it was again her who initiated that. She is the one who comes to him not the other way around...
Now, that's a long review and several of the Points I mentioned are triggers for me and probably aren't for others. This book isn't entirely bad! I can only advise you to make up your own mind!

5 freaking wonderful stars!! I love this author so much! I have not read a book of hers I have not loved!!

Kane~ I lost my best friend but even worse she thinks it's all my fault. She has always thought the worst of me. Too bad I will never give up on her...
Brynne~ He is the reason I am so angry. The "golden child" is not so golden. Damn him for being so damn sexy...it's hard to hate the man who makes you weak in the knees but don't worry I am stubborn...

This was such a beautiful story. My heart ached for Kane and all he went through and I felt like he had to stay strong when nobody had his back. Brynne was not my favorite person but she grew on me. Those two together is the perfect storm!! Kane is super freaking hot!! Yummy!! And Noah is precious!! The end was PERFECT!! I mean this whole book was perfect.
This was a easy flowing, well developed, perfected book!! This book gives you love, hurt, depression, addiction, sexy time, and so many other issues. This is the second book by this author that makes it to my MUST read 2017!!!

Wholly buckets of feels! Second Shot is not your average playboy hockey romance novel.
Kane and Brynne's story is a dynamic complexly interconnected tale that took me on whirl wind ride of emotional tragedy, demon chasing, guilt ridden fear, loving to hate and learning to pick yourself up after you get through it all.
The sensual heat, alpha male protectiveness of Kane's need to be a good father, and refusal to give into Brynne's stubbornness are just icing on the emotional cake!
The love to hate relationship between the two is nothing short of spectacular, this is one couple enjoyed watching grow!
This romantic, heartbreaking, face the truth read had me bawling, rooting for the two and frustrated with everyone involved all at the same time.
A book I will not soon forget.

May I just say that author, C.M. Seabrook has an unstoppable, magical ability to write a romance with addicting, sexy, brooding alpha heroes, beautiful and sassy heroines and all the right “feels” that leaves me panting, swooning and thanking the lord for all things romantic and ALWAYS wanting and waiting for her next release.
Second Shot is absolutely no exception. I adored Kane and Brynne. The chemistry between these two was combustible. Their story was about letting go of the past, however difficult that may be, letting go of misplaced guilt, accepting that people are not always what they initially appear to be, taking chances and moving forward to share in a love that was always meant to be. Throw in a baby and I’m lost to the dream of love, life and family.
I love the banter back and forth between this couple. Kane’s alpha ways and take-charge attitude when secrets are revealed had my heart doing tons of pitter pattering not to mention a little heavy breathing…
Brynne’s stubborn ways were sometimes frustrating but understandable given the circumstances. She had me laughing out loud more than once. My most favorite, funniest part was when the “news” was broken spontaneously to Brynne’s father and Kane’s reaction to that. Priceless!!!
I fell in love with the previous book, Second Draft and I thought that would be hard to beat. The author gives us a run for our money and delivers a fantastic read that I WILL read again and again.

May I just say that author, C.M. Seabrook has an unstoppable, magical ability to write a romance with addicting, sexy, brooding alpha heroes, beautiful and sassy heroines and all the right “feels” that leaves me panting, swooning and thanking the lord for all things romantic and ALWAYS wanting and waiting for her next release.
Second Shot is absolutely no exception. I adored Kane and Brynne. The chemistry between these two was combustible. Their story was about letting go of the past, however difficult that may be, letting go of misplaced guilt, accepting that people are not always what they initially appear to be, taking chances and moving forward to share in a love that was always meant to be. Throw in a baby and I’m lost to the dream of love, life and family.
I love the banter back and forth between this couple. Kane’s alpha ways and take-charge attitude when secrets are revealed had my heart doing tons of pitter pattering not to mention a little heavy breathing…
Brynne’s stubborn ways were sometimes frustrating but understandable given the circumstances. She had me laughing out loud more than once. My most favorite, funniest part was when the “news” was broken spontaneously to Brynne’s father and Kane’s reaction to that. Priceless!!!
I fell in love with the previous book, Second Draft and I thought that would be hard to beat. The author gives us a run for our money and delivers a fantastic read that I WILL read again and again.

This lady has a way with words that can make you fall in love instantly for her books. The themes that she explores are real things that can happen to us.
Like I've already said in my previous reviews C.M Seabrook's writing is simple, intense, hot and sometimes wild. The way she starts each book can make you addicted just by reading the first chapter. Been there, done that...
Second Shot is her latest release and it's an amazing book. Let me just give you one big advice, I totally recommend you to read Second Draft, because despite both books are standalones I totally advise you to read it first in order to understand this story better.
This book tells the stories of Kane and Brynne.
Kane is a defensemen in the NHL and a very good one. His mojo is one night stands with no strings attached. Until the day he got a taste of the beautiful and off-limits Brynne. He has wanted her for so long but she is the coach's daughter so he can't... And that night he...
Brynne had lost her brother and since that day she's not the same girl. She feels incomplete without him. When Kane talked about her brother in an interview she needed to confront him and tell him everything she thinks of him. That she hates him and want nothing to do with him. But what we think we want and what our body desire are two different things.
After one wild night she disappears and when she returns one year later...
Dayum what a book this was... We can find love, friendship, loyalty, family but also loss, devastation, mad people.
The plot is amazing and I loved the fact that the book has insights of the characters pasts, this way we areable to understand the story better.
The interaction between the characters is intense, raw, wild but sometimes sweet and passionate. The cat and dog mechanics is not only hilarious but also frustrating and crazy.
I simply love a book that can awake so many emotions at the same time.
And get ready for some hot stuff into the mix.
Can't wait for the next book from this series.

Second Shot is about Brynne and Kane. Kane is a professional hockey player and Brynne's father is his team's coach. Kane was best friends with Brynne's brother Sam. Brynne blames Kane for Sam's death and on the night of the first anniversary, Brynne goes to Kane's penthouse to confront him. That leads to a moment of passion...well, more than one, but I think you get the idea. Afterward, Brynne pretends it meant nothing to her, trying to hurt Kane. She does hurt him, but hurts herself all the same.
One year later, Kane is an angry man. He hasn't heard from Brynne after she walked out...and he's not touched (or even thought about) another woman, either. Kane had always cared about Brynne, all the way back to when they first met when she was in high school. But she was always off limits, being the coach's daughter and his best friend's sister. After practice, Kane gets drunk and heads to the cemetery - and what he sees shocks him.
Brynne has a secret that can't be hidden much longer. That night with Kane left her with a big responsibilty - she now has a 3 month old son who looks just like his father. She goes to the cemetery and while she's visiting her mother's and brother's graves, Kane comes stumbling over - drunk. When Kane confronts her, the secret she'd been keeping comes to light. When Kane really sees her baby, he knows it's his. Brynne is scared that Kane will want nothing to do with Noah, their son.

Second Shot by C.M. Seabrook is an angst filled romance with tons of longing and intrigue that will keep you hooked from chapter one. Put one hockey hottie with a feisty artist and you get an explosive romance with tons of heat. Kane Madden has pined for Brynne Jacobs since he first met her but not only was she his best friends sister but also his NHL coach's daughter. Warning bells are going off but Kane can't resist her smart mouth and sass and after years of interest when sparks fly there will be flames.

Such An Emotional Book

When I read the blurb and started reading the book, I expected your typical romance. A guy meets a girl. He is good at some sports. They fall in love, pass through some obstacles, and have their happy ever after, all these mixed with some practices and sports games. I didn’t expect that the book would be so deep. I didn’t expect what the author had in store for us at all.
This book covers a lot of topics related to mental health: addiction, suicide, grief, loss. It has a good plot with well-developed side characters. You want to get to know them and then you want to know them even better.
It’s also quite an emotional read. I cry easily these days but not like these. The strength and ingenuity of characters emotions and feelings for each other left me sobbing, left me reeling, it tugged something in my heart.
It’s not your general sports romance read. Highly recommend it. 💝

Kane is a hockey player, and Brynne is the coach’s daughter. These two have always be attracted to each other, but have not done anything about it, until one night they do, and Brynne runs as she cannot handle her feelings. When she returns home she is not alone, and Kane is determined to gain her trust. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed!
This is an emotional and heartfelt storyline, which is beautifully written, and is about family, forgiveness, and second chances. I adore this extremely talented author’s work, and in my opinion, this novel is my favourite. I was hooked and intrigued from the very beginning, and this is worth so much more than the 5 star rating allowed. I highly recommend this authors work for all readers, and cannot wait to read more from her. Brilliant work!!

If it wasn’t for Kane being super sweet and swoony, and Noah being utterly adorable, then I would have rated this book less than 3 stars. Brynne was one of the most annoying characters I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. She was snarky and nasty to Kane for about 80% of the book. I couldn’t understand why any guy would put up with her attitude and keep going back for more. I certainly didn’t feel that she deserved Kane at all! She never took the blame for anything that happened and was always quick to think the worst of Kane at every single turn. I was beyond frustrated with her throughout the book and even the final “grand” gesture for Kane came a little too late for her redemption in my eyes. I have never wanted to throttle a heroine this much before!!!!!!!
Thank goodness for the narration by Evelyn Marcail as it was amazing! This is my first time listening to her and I thought she did a great job with the dual narration. Her narrating style was very expressive and emotional.

The writing is good but the timeline is too slow in some areas of the plot and too fast in others. I don't feel as connected to Kane as I should.
Hockey players have regular drug screening and two points were taken off review rating for poor sad sack what's her name for having a hockey coach father and not knowing that as well as health check ups as author has her accusing Kane of drug use for at least half of the book. My eyes rolled to back off my head.....Her stubbornness didn't make her a strong woman but a stupid one.

SECOND SHOT scored big!! C.M. Seabrook is one of my go-to authors for swoony romances featuring sweet, chivalrous, cavemen alpha heroes who will move mountains to claim their women. And add an adorable baby boy into the mix and I am RUINED!!!!!

This sexy standalone in Ms. Seabrook’s MEN WITH WOOD hockey series is centered around Brynne Jacobs and Kane “The Golden Boy” Madden. These two share a very tumultuous history. Kane has always been secretly in love with Brynne but falling for the coach's daughter is a big no-no so when she jumped to the wrong conclusions about him, he allows Brynne to think the worst of him.
The heroine, a talented artist, has always been wildly attracted to Kane but it’s buried beneath hard layers of bitter animosity that she has felt toward him ever since he moved in with their family at 16. She hated the bad influence he seemed to have on her brother Sam, who always seemed to get into trouble every time Kane was around, and she especially hated that her father saw Kane as the favorite son while he treated his own bio kids with disdain.

Wowza! I was hooked immediately into this love/hate second chance romance--raw, primal, angry sex is just so darn HAWT--and was breathlessly turning the pages late into the night! SECOND SHOT proves yet again why I am a huge fan of C.M. Seabrook’s complex, nuanced writing. She masterfully delves into themes of family, forgiveness, atonement, acceptance and love, providing the perfect blend of heart stopping drama, palpable tension and soul burning passion.
SECOND SHOT struck many chords in me and this is by far her most combustible and emotionally explosive book to date!! Electricity, lust and attraction sizzle between Kane and Brynne from start to finish, and I relished their fiery battle of wills, the shameless flirting, and the volatile sexual and emotional tension that finally reaches a boiling point.
Kane was beyond delicious! Besides being big and hard-muscled and INTENSELY alpha, this hunky hockey star is so gentle and patient and kind and loves fiercely! And omg…your ovaries may just explode during the Kane/baby Noah bonding scenes! Nothing turns my knees to jelly like a big, tough guy doting on his baby boy!!! And I also appreciated how devoted he is to Brynne. She may just be the most stubborn, willful, frustrating woman he’s ever met, but he sees through her hard, brittle shield to the scared, vulnerable woman underneath.

These two are like an emotional time-bomb with so much pain and anger and secrets and misconceptions wedged between them yet no matter how many barriers Brynne tries to erect between her and Kane, he is just as determined to knock them down. I love how in working to break down her walls he never cowers but instead pushes back—hard--and makes her confront her past demons in order to embrace the future. One that hopefully includes him.
I also ADORED the camaraderie between Kane and his Annihilators teammates, and I am very much looking forward to Blake and Sebastian’s stories. And yay we got a cameo visit from Carter Bennett (featured in SECOND DRAFT) which was a blast!
However, as much as I enjoyed SECOND SHOT, if I am being completely honest, I struggled to connect emotionally at times with this story because of the heroine. Brynne is a spitfire, I will give her that, but there is a fine line between feistiness and snarkiness in my book, and she came across as too harsh and standoffish for my liking. She spends so much of the story pushing Kane away and accusing him of terrible things and I found it challenging to invest in a romance where the heroine makes it so difficult for this sweet, amazing hero to love her!
That said, to the author’s credit, Ms. Seabrook did a good job infusing Brynne with depth and soul and wrenching internal angst, which did allow me to see her side of things and shed light on the chain of events that shaped her skewed perceptions. And once she FINALLY stops blaming Kane for everything, owns up to her shortcomings and allows her walls to come tumbling down, I did eventually warm to her and ultimately found the way their romance played out to be incredibly poignant and deeply satisfying. And sighhhh the ending was EPIC!
Bottom line: If you too have a weakness for swoony insta daddy romances that put you through the emotional wringer, then Second Shot is guarantee to make you melt!

I love how in working to break down her walls he never cowers but instead pushes back—hard--and makes her confront her past demons in order to embrace the future. One that hopefully includes him.
I also ADORED the camaraderie between Kane and his Annihilators teammates, and I am very much looking forward to Blake and Sebastian’s stories. And yay we got a cameo visit from Carter Bennett (featured in SECOND DRAFT) which was a blast!
However, as much as I enjoyed SECOND SHOT, if I am being completely honest, I struggled to connect emotionally at times with this story because of the heroine. Brynne is a spitfire, I will give her that, but there is a fine line between feistiness and snarkiness in my book, and she came across as too harsh and standoffish for my liking. She spends so much of the story pushing Kane away and accusing him of terrible things and I found it challenging to invest in a romance where the heroine makes it so difficult for this sweet, amazing hero to love her!
That said, to the author’s credit, Ms. Seabrook did a good job infusing Brynne with depth and soul and wrenching internal angst, which did allow me to see her side of things and shed light on the chain of events that shaped her skewed perceptions. And once she FINALLY stops blaming Kane for everything, owns up to her shortcomings and allows her walls to come tumbling down, I did eventually warm to her and ultimately found the way their romance played out to be incredibly poignant and deeply satisfying. And sighhhh the ending was EPIC!
Bottom line: If you too have a weakness for swoony insta daddy romances that put you through the emotional wringer, then Second Shot is guarantee to make you melt!

Wow is seriously all I can really think. It's a well written, emotional, heart felt book that will definitely leave you emotionally spent. But in a great way. I absolutely loved this book and it is tied with Second Draft as my favorite book by this author. Kane and Brynne were perfect for each other. He had been in love with her since he first layed eyes on her but with her being his coach's daughter though they never acted on the intense attraction they had. Until after a tragic accident that left both of them hurting deeply and emotionally scarred. She was so hurt that she blamed Kane for losing her brother and his best friend. When Brynne disappears without a goodbye for a year after their night together. When she finally shows up and has a baby Kane just knows he's his. He is determined to do anything to win her back and make her his and get her to open her heart and trust him. He will also not let anything stop him from being in his sons life and taking care of him and being the best father he can be. One way to do that is wanting them to move in with him so he can be a full time father.The way he is with their son will definitely pull at your heart strings for sure. Then there are other more personal things going on in his life that complicates things just a tad bit. I was so freaking emotional during the entire book and could not put it down. My heart went out to both of them for everything they went through. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

She and her brother, we're just his kids, especially after an injury her brother rec'd and was no longer part of the team. Things happened, Brynne blamed fellow teammate Kane, and her dad, yet she couldn't get past her anger and blame. Beautiful story, opening your heart, learning to trust, love who you were meant to all along.💞

Second Shot is a sports romance, a second chance romance, a bit of an enemies to lovers story with a secret pregnancy. This all worked together to make a storyline that had me engaged from the first page to the last.

I listened to most of this story on audiobook and enjoyed the narration.

I really enjoyed this book! I love when the characters have a back story, the sex scenes were hot! I also loved that she wasn't A doormat.
I hope we get a story about his sister and his team mate I think it would be a great one!

It was an easy read but pretty simple and shallow. Not very interesting and with a lot drama. Brynne is a sarcastic woman and whiny crybaby who blame Kane for everything wrong in her life. Kane is determined, and strong willed but nice. They way Kane reasoned about not "hurting" Brynne was eye-roll-worthy at best. The time line is bit messy in story. There is passion, love and lots of twist and turns as the story progressed it fell flat towards the end.

This was a really great read! The only thing that knocked it down from 5 stars for me was Brynne. She was really hard to like, and I didn't even really like her until 3/4 of the way through the book. She hates Kane for things that he didn't even do, and doesn't give him the chance to explain. The main thing is not telling him she was pregnant. I can NEVER get behind that when you willingly sleep with the other person. It's never okay to hide that from someone. After she gets over herself, I was able to really enjoy them being together. They end up having a really loving and strong relationship. The ending was great for these characters. I SO look forward to what comes next from C.M.!

Brynne is the daughter of Kane's coach and since they met eight years ago they have been attracted to the other. There have been more than the average amount of misunderstandings with mostly Brynne the one blinded to the truth and taking her assumptions (which are untrue) and making them facts...without real proof.
This was an awesome love story. Once he and Brynne are together he is a changed man. He knows what he wants and no one else will do.
Safety Gang-this is a safe read. Hero a man-whore before the beginning of the book but once he is with the heroine he is with no one else...hurrah!
I highly recommend this book and it definitely goes on my reread list.

Well, huh. Bit darker than I was expecting & I wasnt crazy about Brynne. She just never imo let off the man hater pedal. I loved him! It deals with subplots of his & her bro/sis & drugs and death. IMO, the baby was the real star of the show. If you're looking for something light, like I was, I wouldn't say this story is it.
