Dublin Rugby #3

SCRUMptious

Rate this book
Playboy. Flirt. Womanizer. I know what they say about me, but none of it's true. In fact, I’d rather stay a virgin than wind up with a baby-mama claiming the kid is mine.

But one conversation with Lauren, a sexy Californian with curves to die for who’s in town for just eight weeks, and I’m all in. One kiss, and I yearn for something more.

Now, I’m in for the match of my life, and I have no intention of losing. Even if it means leaving Dublin—and rugby—behind for good.

I loved this story, I liked Donal in the book before, and I always wondered about his story. This book didn't disappoint at all. It was simply perfect.

I loved Donal, he is sweet and knows what he wants. He doesn't care about what anyone else thinks, but keeps a big secret. He loves rugby, but he will not always make it his life.

I loved Lauren, she loves her job as a chef. She cares dearly for her family. She is confident, and sweet but she also has hang ups on stuff.

Everyone may think someone is confident, and don't have secrets or afraid, but everyone is human.

I really liked this book. I can't wait for more. wtmo

This was an enjoyable story. I liked both Lauren and Donal and liked their story. This is the first story I've read by this author and I liked it well enough I may try more of her work in the future.

Lauren is a (32 year old) chef that was working under a TV chef on a cooking show. Unfortunately, when the show's celebrity chef (aka her boss) lost it on live TV, everyone on the show lost their jobs. Desperate for a quick recovery, Lauren takes a contract position for 8 weeks of cooking for a Rugby team in Ireland. Lauren's mother is disabled and she doesn't like being away from her but figures it's only temporary.

Donal is 22 years old and is a hooker for his professional Ruby team. Donal is currently benched due to an injury to his Achilles tendon which he hopes will heal up well. Due to some stuff that happened between his parents when he was younger, Donal's relationship with his father is strained.

Lauren and Donal meet her first day of cooking for the team. The regular lead cook had an accident right after she got there and it put Lauren in charge. As luck would have it, the previous cook was a bit lame so Lauren's cooking was met with much appreciation. While Donal shared in the appreciation of her cooking, Lauren herself was of much more interest to Donal and he made his interest clear. However, Donal has a reputation as a man-whore and it makes Lauren leery. The 10 years difference doesn't help and Lauren's past heartbreaks makes her unwilling to trust easily.

Although Lauren tries to stay away from Donal, he's persistent and eventually gets her to go out with him. Gaining her trust to turn the relationship into something more is difficult...especially since Lauren's visa is only good for 9 weeks and she'll have to go home once it ends. They do manage to work past these difficulties and the story ends with Donal and Lauren starting on a HEA together.

This was an enjoyable story. Lauren and Donal were good MCs. While I liked that they worked things out, I wasn't thrilled with the reason Donal and Lauren were able to be together more easily (something that was more sad then bad). Still, I liked the characters fine and the story was good overall. :)

A virgin rugby sex god who has been waiting for just the right woman to come along. And she happens to come in as the new temporary team's new chef for the next couple of months. Lauren catches Donal's eyes has soon as she enters the room. Her food wins over his stomach and the whole package manages to win his heart.

Lauren is older than Donal and her past with men has her skeptical about having any type of relationship with him. But he wins her over in no time, he's charming, sexy and just the right guy to spend the next couple of months enjoying, or maybe even the rest of her life.

Donal is about to lose his dream thanks to an injury that won't heal. Even though it's a disappointment, it's not the end of the world for Donal has it was for Declan's bestie. He was born into money, so he can do whatever he wants whenever he wants and it's good too because when Lauren's contract is up she is going back to the California where she came from, to look after her relative and hopefully to get her dream job.
All Donal needs to figure out is if he loves the girl and if she's worth leaving Dublin behind for.

Another win for Rebecca with this one, it was steamy, cute and overall romantic. And I can' wait for the next one! I'm dying for the next book in the series, hopefully it's about who I'm thinking of and if it is , it will be angsty... I can feel it just might end up being my favorite.

This is the 1st book I've read by Rebecca and I loved it. I wasn't too interested in reading this story because of the older woman younger man theme but I'm honestly glad I did. The characters are well-developed and the story well-written. Lauren a sous chef accepts a position as a chef for a rugby team in Dublin and meets Donal a young rugby player. There is instant chemistry between the two but Lauren is reluctant to begin an affair with Donal because of the age difference. She finally gives in and they commence seeing each other. “Scrumptious” is dramatic, emotional, romantic, heartbreaking and steamy. One-click this book. You won't be disappointed.
This is not an ARC review. I purchased the book.

Who knew Rugby could be so hot? ;)

Donal Casey knows how to heat things up in the kitchen with the new chef in town.

Finally we get to see what Donal has been hiding and hinting at. I have to say, I like Rebecca's approach on this one and I absolutely loved Donal's dirty talking. The man sure knows what he's doing.

I may be a little biased because I fell for Donal in in Trying Sophie and Ruck Me - I'm so glad to finally have his story.

I couldn't put it down!

Rebecca Norinne has done it again! It's a sexy, fast paced story of two people who seem unlikely to form even a friendship, yet alone a sizzling love affair. I loved Donal, and loved the vulnerability that Lauren brought out in him. Their love affair warmed my heart.

A must read series

I fell in love with this series from book 1. It's one of those series that I can pick up and finish the whole book in one sitting. The characters just capture my attention and don't let go. Holding on to something so special and giving it to the one you will love forever is pricelessly perfect.

Cougar!

Not really. Yes there is a ten year age difference but sometimes the events in someone's life can make one appear wiser than their years. I don't like to give away story details but just this is a story of a woman having trouble letting go of the past and a young man who needs to stop comparing his life to his father. They need to enjoy the present. They are good for each other and they are hot together! Fun romance book. This is book 3 of the series, excited about book four! I loved it.

SCRUMptious was a great story that was highly original, so I'm not going to give any of the plot away in this one. If you want a glimpse, you will just have to read the blurb, but trust me, it's worth it to read the story in its entirety. . Donal was a great hero who was way more than meets the eye obviously, and that's what I loved most about him. And Lauren was the older heroine, which made it a bit more unique, because usually it's the hero that's older. Together they were sweet together, as she revealed his heart that he didn't show too often. And they did light the sheets up when the chemistry was finally ignited. Rebecca Norinne has a talented & addictive writing style that I can't get enough, and each story in this series is unique. I'm keeping this one shorter as I want people to go into it blind so they can enjoy it to the fullest, and I CANNOT WAIT for more of this awesome series! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The luck of the Irish is about to come knocking on Lauren’s door, let’s see if she is ready to answer. So Lauren ends up needing to take a job half way around the world to be the Dubin Rugby chef. A trip of a lifetime but all she is really thinking about is the paycheck as the moment. These lads really seem to be appreciating her cooking right from the start. She has been put up to top chef and not just assistant in the space of a few hours of being there. Bit of a shock to her too as this was due to said head chef falling over and breaking both his arms on her first day. Talk about pressure building from the start with a new job. The men don’t seem to mind as it’s a rather tasty new menu to check out.

Seems Donal isn’t just admiring the food either, love that he makes her blush. Donal my man oh what a flirt you are. We all know those stories of you playing the field with any and everyone just aren’t true. He’s still holding onto a secret that only Eoin knows, he’s virgin but could Lauren be the woman he has been waiting for. He may be a virgin but let’s just say that our guy has another perfected talent that he does use to the best of his ability – a lot. Oh the fun to be had in a kitchen!

He might come out with some filthy things with his mouth – among other ways of using it – but that doesn’t mean he can’t be sweet too.

Our lips nearly touching he said, “You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” Swoon!

“Now, Lauren, I’m going to take you into your bedroom and you’re going to make a man out of me.”

From the moment Donal saw Lauren that was it, in his mind he went all caveman wanting to claim her. The fact he’s never had that kind of reaction before made him realize that this could be something different. His reasons for staying a virgin stem from some bad choices his father made. So he has been waiting for the right person who would see him and not what he could do for them if they happened to get knocked up. He may come across as a man-child player at times – something Lauren calls him on – but when he needs to make a point (I’m all man, Lauren) you can literally feel her take a breath with the tension it builds. He likes what she’s cooking in the kitchen and as long as she’s there he’s going to want to taste – not just food.

Lauren on the other hand is having a hard time believing a young 22-year-old stud – ten years younger – like him would be interested in her. She may be tempted but knows she’s leaving soon and doesn’t do casual hookups. When she finds out a little more about Donal, after a mishap that could change his direction in life, she gets more nervous. Does she want to be his first? That would be a yes, something they are both very happy about. Hello making up for lost time! But with her contract only being temporary they have a ticking clock on their romance. The longer they’re together though the more feelings get involved. Can this wild ride last the distance, quite literally as she will be going back across the pond.

A short, fun, romantic chill-out read showing that not everything is as it seems. What people keep close to their chests is what matters, not what the world may see you as. Donal was a sweetheart and I’m so glad he got his own story.

I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

I always find it interesting when a writer flips the script on a classic troupe or feature of romance, like how men are always after women that are significantly younger than them (I’m talking 10+ years). That’s kind of annoying, so the fact that the author flipped it and made the significantly younger man pursue the “older” woman (she’s in her early 30s so it’s not old at all) was a cool contrast. I also found it funny that Donal appeared to be more mature regarding the progression of their relationships and what he wanted from it.

Which made it more fictional to me and of course the fact that was a 22 year old professional athlete who was still a Virgin. LOL 😂

Anyways I definitely enjoyed this book and Liam’s books way more than the others in the rugby series...there’s also a couple of other team members I’d like to read about but it doesn’t look like they have books.

Loved Scrumptious and yes the title applied to both characters. Great to see a young man with all his aches and pain falls for wise, beautiful older woman.

This was the first book that I've read by this author and I have to honestly say that I enjoyed it and will read more of her books. Since this is also the 4th book in the Irish Rugby series I will need to backtrack and read books 1-3 to get the back stories. I liked the interactions between the younger soccer player and a bit older chef. She definitely doesn't want to get involved with someone 10 years younger but it's hard to keep away, also. I'm not familiar with soccer so those terms are something new to get used to but Lauren's cooking skills are something that is more relate-able to the average reader - and everyone loves to eat, especially a hungry athlete! I loved the secret that Donal was keeping!

I loved this story so much!! I loved Donal in the other stories, and I was so hoping he would get his own story. Thank you Rebecca for making it so amazing.
Lauren becomes the team chef after some scandal in her own career. She isn't looking for anything but a distraction and a job. Donal is immediately attracted to her, and pursues her. She is reluctant to give him any sort of chance because he is so much younger, and because she indirectly works with him. You will fall in love with Donal in this story!! He's cocky, but he has the biggest heart. I loved him and Lauren. Also loved the Cam-eo in the end. Love Rebecca's books. Don't miss this one!!

Just for now

I enjoyed reading Donal and Lauren’s story. There was an age difference but these two made it work. The author did a great job bringing them together and making me fall in love with these two. Their connection was strong and not to mention the sizzling hot chemistry. I definitely look forward to reading more books by this author.

This is a very good older woman/younger man romance. There are hurdles to overcome on their path to an HEA. This is a quick and fun read. I read it in one sitting. I received a complimentary copy and this is my honest review.
