“Do not awaken love until it so desires.” – Songs of Solomon 8:4. Do not chase love. Let it come to you.
It is the main premise that the author wants to communicate to her readers. (Obvious naman sa first page HAHAHAH). The story revolves around Haley’s chase with Gideon at maganda rito na magkaiba ang mga katangian ng dalawang bida. For a romance story, the main characters, indeed, already have the chemistry. Romance trope ito pero si FGW kasi, kaya niyang baliin ang kuwento at dahil na rin buo na ang boses niya bilang manunulat.
Mainam ang pagkakabuo sa characterization ni Haley, ang female lead. She is a round character. Personally, parang bumata rin ako ng ilang taon lalo na kapag kinilikig na natatawa ako sa tuwing inaasar niya sa Gideon. She is eager to get Gideon, goal-getter. Nakatutuwa kay Haley, she has her own dreams, dreamer, bale hindi siya bumabase sa ibang karakter sa kuwento para sa pagtupad ng mga pangarap niya. She is independent (in a way), though a bit spoiled kasi only child ng governor ng Amora HAHAHAH nakukuha niya lahat (pati si Gideon). Alam niya ang ginagawa niya. On the other hand, she has a lot to improve as a character, specially sa simula ng istorya.
Gideon, a character to balance Haley’s bubbly personality, is serious, and then gentlemanly. Very nice din na may sarili rin siyang beliefs (na medyo nagulo ni Haley HAHAHAH). A bit of a hint siguro kung bakit “The Other Girls” ang pangalan ng series dahil “other girl” niya si Haley (read it to know how and why). At first, Gideon was very willing to learn to love Haley but sabi nga sa premise ng kuwento, “Do not awaken love until it so desires.”
Nagbago naman si Haley and she successfully met Gideon halfway. Read the story to know why and how. Ang cute din ng special chapter, which I think is exclusive sa printed book. No need to talk about the writing style kasi sobrang distinct na talaga ng estilo ni FGW, and it sails across her stories.
Ayern. Five months pa lang akong reader niya BUT OWEMJI, I don’t regret.

“Don’t chase love. Let it come to you.” - Gideon

Reading FGW’s story makes me closer to God. And this one is no exception. Haley’s character portrayed the common female na kapag gusto, gusto. Walang makakapigil na makuha ito. She’s a brat. At kapag hindi nakukuha ang gusto, it challenges her to work hard for it. And then kapag nagsawa, she’s gonna drop it like a hot potato.
Sweet Scheming Playgirl teaches the readers to wait, to believe in Him and His ways. Kung hindi pa ngayon ang time, baka mag ginagawa pa Siya na mas para sa atin. Faith in fate.
