Hendrix: The Rise and Fall of a Hood Legend

Rate this book
* The Rise and Fall of a Hood Legend is the prequel to Hendrix and Monroe : For The Love of Drug Money *

Hendrix had always been an ambitious young man, succeeding at whatever he put his mind to. So, when he decided to try his hand at the drug game, he knew that it was his for the taking. Although he grew up on the mean streets of Detroit, he wasn't a product of his environment. When Hendrix presented his business plan to the neighborhood drug dealer, Chief, there were questions as to why Hendrix, with the intellect of a genius, wanted to deal drugs. The answer was because it would be easy. Or so he thought.

In the midst of making his mark in the highly competitive drug game, he finds himself falling deeper in love with his childhood best friend, Israel. Falling in love with Israel was the least of his worries, though. There were many preying on his downfall, but because of his deadly reputation, people tread lightly around him.

Hendrix always thought he was a step ahead of his enemies. But in a game fueled by jealousy and greed, somethings tend to sneak up on you. Especially when the one truly against you is your own twin brother.

Damnnnnnnn....

Wow.... This book was everything I thought it would be n more. I just luv Hendrix wit his rude ass. But damn to read about him dying again had my heart aching for Israel so bad. I felt so bad for him when he realized that he was going to die. N Jimmie I wanted to beat his ass for setting up his own twin brother like that. I'm so sad to see Hendrix go but his story is done! Written excellently! I know that this story kept u up n debating on whether to write it or not. I'm so glad that u did. This right here is right along side of Hendrix n Monroe book. I'm going to go back n purchase the other book just to have in library! This was fire right here! Another banger has been written! Thank u for for blessing us, ur fans wit ur books

Emotional read

This book was excellent and well written! It was great to get more insight on Israels love for Hendrix and I felt for her especially with the things she went through! I got two important messes from this book: greed and power can be your downfall and to treasure you loved ones while you have them! The storyline with Hendrix's parents made me emotional and I understood their point but I also felt they were wrong! This book made things add up about Jimis character and gave me added insight on what made him the way he was. This book is a must click and yes this series is different! It is a true page turner and you won't regret one clicking!

Loved it

Well Miss Candice, I thought I loved Hendrix in Hendrix and Monroe, but man I fell in love with him all over again. He was definitely the truth and about it too. The love he had for Issy was one that many women dreamed of from a man. But as always there's that one snake that you least expect that ruins everything. The ending just like in the other broke my heart. Great book. Would have love to read more on Hendrix but maybe the next one could be on Jimi the snake.

Hendrix …

I’m sad reading this. I feel like i actually knew him. His no nonsense personality was everything. I liked how he was his own person. This book taught me a lesson you can’t even trust your twin. I’m happy she wrote this prequel because it gave us more insight on him. Good book and I did not want to put it down.

Hendrix

Omg. I just love this story and your writing. As always when I get into the book I’m stuck and get upset when someone interrupts my reading. I feel as if I’m right there with them and can visualize each scene. Thank you for doing what you do miss Candice. You are my favorite writer by far.

I loved Hendrix (Hendo), he was no nonsense and straight to the point. I’m glad him n Issy finally got it together. Joni was wrong on so many levels. The story of Cain and Abel, Again, great read.

This title fitted the story

Wow I hated that his parents couldn't forgive him. Hendrix was so worried bout his enemy's taking him out when he should've been looking at his brother as being a snake.

Loved it

Hendrix was a great read. It was different from the usual hood stories and it was good to see the smart kid be gangsta on the low.

Very moving book!

This book is definitely slow in some selections that almost had me stop reading. Yet, the suspenseful parts kept me reading. The ending was great.

Good read

Man it’s sad that you can’t trust people these days. Hendrix was the man and boy oh boy did he trust the wrong people.
