Alyssa Satin Capucilli was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1957. She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, and pursued her interest in dance, becoming a professional dancer and dance instructor. Though Capucilli had written stories, poems, and even puppet shows as a child, she didn't consider a career as a writer until after her own two children were born. To this day she sees herself as both a dancer and a writer, and the two professions complement each other nicely: dancing is, in her words, “telling stories in another way,” and readers of her children's books can attest to the rhythm of her language. Since 1994, she has written more than 15 books for children, and her work has been translated into French, Hebrew, Afrikaans, Greek, and Bulgarian.
Capucilli lives in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, with her husband and children. They have a chocolate Labrador retriever named Huckleberry, who likes to watch the author at work.
A cute book with Life-the-Flap fun. Biscuit is a cute puppy that gets into everything. The life-the-flap is fun as we see biscuit get into something, like a pile of leaves, and then we see what it is that he got, like a ball.
It is just puppy hijinks around the season. The kids thought this was a cute book. They both gave it 3 stars.
SUPER FAST REVIEW: The story is fun, the art is wonderful and it’s super cute as always! I especially like the ending. This book isn’t as unpredictable or humorous as usual. Still, it’s a nice read that I enjoyed reading to my own little puppy. Woof woof!
Adorable illustrations and pop-out pages make this a delightful holiday read!

I thought this might have potential for storytime, what with the little flaps. I know think it's only "eh." A good lap-read. But I think it's a bit cheesy for storytime--at least with the preschool age. And as my toddlers are so young, I think the book is a bit much for their age.
Pull back flaps throughout the story are a draw for me in trying to engage my 17 mo. old. I now look for books with flaps, buttons to push, textures to feel. It is helpful in keeping the attention of my little one. Liked the story.
A cute enough story, I suppose. A little girl prepares for Thanksgiving (no mention of her parents, of course). Biscuit, the dog, muddies everything up, but demonstrates his consideration for others.
This is nice for little ones. Gert reads this to her class yearly.
Biscuit is a puppy and his books are a favorite of my 3 year old granddaughter and me. this one celebrates the joys of Thanksgiving and what you should be thankful for. It has lift the flaps to see all the 'hidden' joys of it. Was fun for my granddaughter to lift the flap as I read the book to her.
Biscuit is a series of books, this one focuses on the Thanksgiving holiday. Biscuit is a character that appears in many different stories! I remember reading about Biscuit when I was little. This story is about Thanksgiving. The little girl is preparing for Thanksgiving while Biscuit her puppy helps out. The take a gift over to the neighbor's house, they bake a pumpkin pie, they decorate the house, they set the table, and more! It is an engaging and delightful read. I don't think you can read it without a smile!
It sweetly teaches everything that Thanksgiving is about! I would be perfect for young children who are experiencing some first big Thanksgivings. It put what Thanksgiving is all about in an easy to understand and positive way. Such as thankfulness, giving, being welcoming, and more.
I have loved these books forever. I saw it out of the corner of my eye on a sheld and had to go check it out. It brought me right back to my childhood, an immediate smile brought me back to my childhood memories. I think it so sweetly taught the lessons of Thanksgiving and why to be excited for the holiday. I also really like how interactive the book was. I did not remember the quality of the book. Every page has a little flap to fold out that shows another illustration and sometimes a few words. As a kid I remember loving the pictures, but not that I'm older and read the text I am happy to see the quality lesson it teaches.
I recommend this book for anyone introducing their kid to Thanksgiving, with family coming in town, and the decorating, and food. This book presented all the traditions perfectly. I also recommend this book because of its interactive quality. If I was reading this book to a child, I would have them help me unfold that flap-or something like that to keep the child engaged. I love that this book has that quality. It is perfect for younger readers.
Perfect Thanksgiving Book for the holiday. Biscuit is great for early readers. It has a lift a flap and it is fun to hear little toddlers describe what they think Biscuit did (hidden under the flap.) If you don’t like to purchase holiday books pick this one up for your kids at your local library.
This is a cute book to read. It has a thanksgiving theme, though it doesn't go to deep into what thanksgiving was or is. It is easy to read. It also reminds children to be thankful for what and who they have.
This is such a cute book for young readers to read around thanksgiving it allows the readers to get to know biscuit the dog and how he celebrates his thanksgiving. The kids love this book especially when we are learning about thanksgiving.
Great book to pull out at Thanksgiving for the kids! It puts you in the warm, cozy mood of the holidays with family. The writer and illustrator created Biscuit to be a lasting, iconic character for children to remember long after they are grown.
