Logan Dane. The beautiful boy I had a crush on. The handsome and successful man I was engaged to. The butthead that broke my heart.
Carter Dane. He turned my entire high school experience into a game of chicken. He gave good banter and was sexy as hell. Not that I noticed.
Two brothers, different as night and day. I thought I loved one and hated the other. Until a series of clichéd events happened, and lines were crossed and previous perceptions got turned on their head.
Carter Dane. He’s my boyfriend’s brother. He’s also my best enemy.
It was fun until they got together. Man why are books becoming so predictable, no surprises no plot twists. And why lead girls forgive the lead guys so fast??? Why can't they make them suffer a bit? Didn't they suffer when the lead did them wrong. I was excited about this because I loved slow burn. Slow burn was just a perfect mix of everything a great book needs.
Before I start my usual rant I'm going to say this: if you love ENEMIES TO LOVERS books you will like this...probably... unless you hate real assholes. In which case you probably will still like it, but not confess that fact to anyone. But Leila is here to the rescue because I'm gonna confess it. I LIKED IT. Yup that's right. I LIKED THIS BOOK.
okay, I'm sorry. I'm a bit feisty because I've just drank 4 cups of coffee and I'm jittery and all over the place and I have a lot of pent up sexual frustration (TMI-sorry) because of this book.
Are you looking for a funny as hell enemies to lovers book? Here you go. I've just made your day. Are you looking for an irredeemable asshole to drool over? The hero of this book is the ONE for YOU. Are you looking for quirky characters to fall in love with? READ THIS. How about an entire family to despise? Feeling pent up anger in general? This story promises one hell of a revenge. Will you feel a bit betrayed in the last few chapters? So much so that you start to hate the hero? Probably! That's what I felt! What he did was inexcusable. But whatever dude...I read Tijan books for fun. What do you expect? Will you still have an overall fun time reading this? Even if you feel betrayed by one fucking thing the fucking hero did? For sure you will!!!!
So come...read this.
Leila out. Also as a side not...how hot are those sex descriptions though...amirite?
I have to admit, Ms. Christie is my absolute favorite writer. Though, this book wasn't as funny as her other books and seemed to be more rambling, I still love her writing style. All of her books consist of; cheating, brothers or step brothers or characters being related somehow. The ending always end off with a HEA, which puts a smile on my face. Please write more books!!!!
¥¥¥••••********So, with that beginning, said there are a couple of irritated spoilers in this review, lol!********•••••¥¥¥
This girl was so dumb like who in their right mind would let there best friend and boyfriend live with them. Not only that; let them work together in the same place. You can’t trust; everybody, not family, definitely not your friend; it’s only a REAL trustworthy friend who wouldn’t fool around with their friend boyfriend smh; Ananda was so trusting; like dang girl! It was signs there, and she realizes that once Sasha told her; even before Sasha told Ananda I kind of no I was 100% sure Logan was cheating on her with Kenna or whatever her name is that I don’t care to remember. But; Logan and his parents better not be mad when Ananda get it, Carter. I bet he’ll treat her better than Logan would brother or not!
Lmao, Ananda sister I love her. 😂 That song she made about Ananda ex-best friend. Priceless...
Logan, he changed Ananda; more she was a different person than who she truly was. Whereas, Carter didn’t change her; she was more herself with him. He brought out the better in her whereas Logan didn’t. She didn’t have that fire and sparked that she has to Carter then she did with Logan.
Logan is made for Kenna; both crap pot. But it looks like she changes Logan... Kenna probably was always evil and dirty. Ananda was more of a friend to her than she was to Ananda...
The crazy thing is my name is “Cassandra” lmao and the crap her sister done to Logan and Kenna. Is how I am towards my sister boyfriend. 😂 I don’t play about my family.
But I’m still p*** off at Carter for what he did to Ananda no matter if it was a prank or not. I was mad that he let his bean-pie head *** mom get in his head to run off Ananda and even his dad just because he bangs his wife. Like ugh, that had me hot! But glad in the end he learned what a mistake it was, and he went after Ananda and got his woman back. Though, I want to smack him silly. This book was a 5-star rating; I still can’t stand Kenna, his parents (his stepdad Philip) not Wulf and his brother Logan; who couldn’t stand up to his parents and be a real man to be his TRUE self. Glad, in the end, Ananda didn’t become back friends with Kenna after there talk.
3.5 to 4 stars It really pains me to say this, but this was probably my least favorite book by Nicole Christie. I love all of her other books and this wasn't bad but it felt too much like chick-lit to me, especially the first half of the book. So if you love that genre then this is the book for you. I, on the other hand, am not a fan. Yes, I love wacky characters and there were lots here but I missed the strong core that made me take this heroine seriously. In general I liked her but I didn't really connect with her. The sex was hot, though, and there were lots of funny moments that had me grinning. But almost equally as many that made me roll my eyes. And some things just didn't make sense to me. Oh, anyway, it was entertaining and had some really good scenes, too. I don't regret reading it. And Carter was hot! :)
I’ve loved every single book you’ve ever written. I hope that the negative comments didn’t stop you from writing. I always check to see if you’ve written anything else. I absolutely love your writing style and how funny your books are. They make me laugh out loud and giggle and I’ll go back to those parts and reread them. I hope one day you’ll put out another book.
