Man this story is a story! Intense! Dramatic! Twisted! Seriously dark! So a warning first... don’t get attached to anyone in the story. I made that mistake. My mistake had me literally running every five minutes during certain scenes! I’m all out in left field pissed off at the twins’ dad for their situation. And well he’s not to blame. Not totally. Focus, Expresso! The story. Whitlock. Bram . Everleigh....

Oh yeah so Everleigh is a wily fox. This cat and mouse game is simply too delicious for words! What’s Everleigh’s end game? No clue. What I do know is she’s giving Bram gray hair and severe indigestion! Dude is so miserable he’s killing with a viciousness to rival his father’s old crew!

I do believe Bram should consider another strategy. He’s getting his ass delivered to him by a former slave. Yep can you say embarrassing?!!!

4.5 stars!

I always check Goodreads to make sure that every book in a series has been published before I start on the series. However, AA Dark doesn’t seem to understand how series work, especially when it comes to 27009! Although this book is referred to as, “Welcome to Whitlock #2”, it is actually a story about the characters from 24690 and WhiteOut. 27009 should be called, “24690 book #3”. Because I never read WhiteOut (the sequel to 24690), I had no idea what the heck was going on in 27009! Also because I haven’t read WhiteOut, I felt no connection to the characters from that book (characters who also happens to be main characters in 27009). If these books were at least labeled properly, I could actually read them in order and truly understand and enjoy them.

Complaint #2:
Even though it says on Goodreads that there are only 2 books in the, “Welcome to Whitlock” series, AA Dark pulled the rug out from us yet again, leaving this book with a huge, gaping, open ending!?!?!? How can an author leave her readers with such a cruel cliffhanger if the series is over? It is beyond frustrating, and not the first, second or third time AA Dark has done this!

What makes me most upset though is that AA Dark has such amazing potential! The dark aspects of this book were ultra dark and absolutely fantastic. The torture, rape and abuse were totally depraved, sick, twisted and awesome! Her ability to write good dark erotica is why I keep coming back for more yet more often than not, I’m disappointed with the ending. I think I may have finally learned my lesson and won’t be reading any more of her books...

If you think you know everything about Everleigh and Bram then think again. A. A. Dark has turned up the heat for this one.

Scout 5 is sent out to find and bring back the ever elusive Everleigh back home to Bram, to Whitlock. But all is not as it seems. Every move Five makes Everleigh is already one step a head. He is one cocky bastard relying on is good looks to get what he wants. But Everleigh, slave 24690, has grown, become more independent, more powerful and has no problem honing in and perfecting her craft, her deadly talent. The slave has vanished and a ruthless woman has emerged.

We get to see a more vulnerable side to Main Master, Bram. How far will he have to go in trying to convince 'his slave' to return to him.

In true A. A. Dark style this is one dark, twisted, vomit inducing (lol) read.
Oh and we are invited on the ship ride from hell and only the strong and brace will survive.

OMG...wow that was intense to say the least. I loved it!!!! We got to see more of Everleigh and Bram in this one. This one also introduced the twins Layla and Aamir. I liked both of the twins. What happened to them on the ship blew me away. I didn't see a lot of what happened coming especially that cliffhanger - Wow. I hate waiting, need the next book now. Everleigh is still as crazy as we last saw her. Parts were really gory and the horror she caused the scouts looking for her. Bram has lost his mind searching for her. Will she ever return to Whitlock??? That is the question we have to wait and see.

27009 (Welcome to Whitlock #2) is an extremely dark romance. You need to have a very open mind and love the dark and twisty to really enjoy these books. Fortunately for me, I do! Recommended for 18+ readers and pretty much every trigger warning applies to all of her books.
This is the story of a twin brother & sister and their forced journey to a grim future. It is also the continuation of Bram and his exhausting hunt for Everleigh as she continues to send him packages of the men who come after her.
I really don't know how to express how much I love these books. Its amazing because this author looks like a fairy princess but she has this lovely dark place in her soul that begs to be let out. If you happen to pick up these series you won't be able to put it down.
From the start of 24690, I was enamored with these loony characters that she created. Because even though I know that legally they should all be committed, I root for them to get through these horrendous scenarios. I have to admit, I am also secretly looking to see how far she will push the envelope. I love when the envelope is pushed so far, I can't see it anymore.
You know in my review of the last book she wrote, I compared AA Dark to Stephen King but I don't really think that's fair. I have never loved any of Stephen Kings books the way I love these. Now if only someone would make these into horror movies!

So the first thing I see when I open this book is the prologue titled “Everleigh” ;….my eyes bug out, I get goosebumps and I know that I am dropping my current read to jump right into this baby!! There was mention that Everleigh and Bram would make appearances in this segment of Welcome to Whitlock but I didn’t realize how large a part each played.

We get a bigger picture as to how far the reaches of Whitlock go, and just where loyalties lie. Some of the players may have changed, but there are still plenty of games, gobs of manipulation and a superabundance of murder.

Everleigh is traipsing across countries and Bram has brought in reinforcements to ensure she returns to Whitlock. He wants his slave back and will utilize every resource available. A hand picked scout, born within the walls of Whitlock, seems to be the selection that could achieve this paramount assignment.

Caught in the onslaught are a set of twins, brother and sister on a holiday getaway. Intuition alerts the duo of danger, but they are late to heed the warning. The pair are introduced to the evil that floods humanity, and experience just how immoral and deviant people can be.

27009 is lusciously lurid, deliciously disgusting, and masterfully morbid!! I am loving these extensions of Whitlock, giving us a little more insight into the characters and the society.

Bravo A.A. Dark on creating an immoral and nefarious series that indulges our dark souls. Whitlock worshippers make sure you pick up these annexes of the 24690 Duet! And if you’re not familiar you NEED to start today!!

27009 by A. A. Dark returns to the world of Whitlock. Everleigh's freedom is dogged by Bram's constant attempts to get her back. When one of his scouts, Scout 5 aka Travis Sloan, goes after a pair of twins, Layla and Aamir, as slaves for auction, Everleigh's memory of Eleven motivates her to take steps to get them to safety, or as safe as things can be in the world of Whitlock.

27009 shows us more of the reach and power of Whitlock, outside of Whitlock, as very little time is spent there. For falling in line with A. A. Dark's pitch black genre, 27009 does not disappoint and it is just the beginning.

The twins are torn from their lives and exposed to what will be their new lives, though they aren't even to Whitlock yet. 27009, though featuring new characters, is still very much centered on Everleigh and I enjoyed how she has developed outside of Whitlock but is still bound to it in her core. She displays both a strength and weakness that have come to be very much part of her character. This story begins 27009's journey into Whitlock and continues Everleigh and Bram's story outside of it.

Overall 27009 was my favorite Whitlock story thus far. A. A. Dark has definitely developed something here and it's only the tip of the iceberg, for everyone. I very much recommend.

Welcome back to Whitlock.

Opening this book to find the prologue is from Everleigh, well I was jumping up and down I was so excited.
This book, is amazing. It can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading the prior books to get the feel of Whitlock and of course Bram and Everleigh.
Here we have scout 5 (aka Travis) on the hunt the for slave 24690 (Everleigh) in Athens when he stumbles on the twins Layla and Aamir. Well if you have read the previous books, you can guess what is in store for the twins.
I have to say I was cursing Alaska's name that ending. Holy crap what an amazing ending it was. Cant wait for the next book.

This book is pitch black. If even dark reads scare you , stay away from this. However if you are not afraid of the dark, jump right in to the deep end.

Like many other reviews I’ll start by saying YES! EVERLEIGH PROLOGUE!!! Keeping us all up to date while we await the next 24690.

Following the epilogue it goes straight into the story of scout 5, which kind of left me wondering whether that’s all I was going to get of charlee and John in the previous book. The last one was such a quick read where I got attached to the characters from the onset and now..nothing? Still, I like how the author is good in her ability to take a bunch of guys doing the same job yet make them all so different and unique in character.
I needn’t have worried though. This one was so much more than the previous book. It completely gripped me from start to finish. Everleigh just gets better and more twisted as the series progresses. But damn, I still really want her to go back to bram and provide just a little bit of romance (if that’s possible) to the books.
I liked the setting in Athens and the continued undertones of suspense throughout.
I also liked the parts on the ship. They were pretty distressing, but that’s what I love about the series, hard hitting scenes.
It did get a little confusing towards the end, there was so much going on and so many names I had to re-read or see who’s chapter I was on. But that’s my only irk.
So this was the best I’ve read so far. another sick and deranged five stars, it’s going to take a lot for book three to top it.

I am loving how each of these books introduce new slaves and their horrific journey to end up in Whitlock. Try not to get too attached to any of them, because so far it hasn't ended up well for them. But I was especially pleased to see so much of Everleigh and Bram in this book. I have no idea how Alaska is going to pull it off, but I demand a happy ending for those two. It was good to see the side of Bram we hadn't seen in a long time. And the endless I love you texts were awesome. Everleigh is one clever lady and I can't imagine what her end result is set to be. I need the next book NOW!

Like I said in a previous review, this series started off so annoying to me but has become one I’m really enjoying. This book was no different! I did get a biiit bored in some of the Everleigh chapters (how long will this cat and mouse go on for?!) but overall very solid.

Man... this one was a doozy. Those poor kids! 😭

I got a little confused on one part of this book due to the wording/phrasing. I like to be able to walk through stories as I read them and something just wasn't working for me. 🤷🏽‍♀️ (The burning/fire part at the end).

Wow! This series just keeps getting better and better. The story is dark and no one is safe. I loved seeing how Everleigh has grown and how devious she can be. And Bram refuses to let her get away. We meet Scout 5 in this installment and he is completely without scruples. He hates women and loves money. The story of the twins is absolutely heartbreaking. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

It feels like there’s no plot at this point. Everleigh is still hiding from Bram and scouts are finding slaves… This one dragged on and on. I’m only finishing the series because my OCD is forcing me to. I’m not looking forward to the last book.

Book 2.2 in the 24690 series

These novellas are a must read as this one (and the novella after) have good chunks of POVs from Everleigh and Bram.

In this novella Scout 5 has been ordered to search for Everleigh Harper, who might be in Greece. While there 5 is determined to make sure to take a perfect chosen for Whitlock. And 5, who is going by (I think) Travis during this mission stumbles upon the perfect chosen. A pair of twins- Layla and Aamir. Scout 5 is able to get close to Layla by showing interest in her- trying to date her. Layla, Aamir, and Aamir's girlfriend, Jessa, are vacationing together in Athens. Aamir has been trying to keep Layla away from Travis (being the protective twin he is). Unfortunately, that doesn't quite work out well enough and Layla (now 27009) and Aamir (along with Jessa, who just turned out to be a bonus for 5) are being transported to Red Island by boat.

Red Island is under the tight control of another Main Master called the Dragon. And, actually, the Dragon happens to be Luke's brother. Luke is the head of Everleigh's protection/bodyguard detail. During this time, we have POVs of Everleigh and Bram. Everleigh allows some communication between them by phone calls and texts. Everleigh, fortunately, knows a lot about what's going on, with the scouts, Whitlock, you name it and she seems to know about it. Everleigh is trying to get Bram to focus on what is going on as well, as he's been so caught up in finding her, he's been neglecting the secrets, conspirieses, and inner going-ons of Whitlock.

Everleigh makes a deal with the Dragon and is invited to come to his island for dinner and to see the twins (now slaves) that she's determined to purchase. This is the only way that they can be saved. Unfortunately for the twins, they were severally abused during the ride (even though the Dragon gave strict orders for them not to be touched). Layla gets SAd (and hit) repeatedly and her virginity taken by this huge, scared beast of a man. Aamir doesn't get off easily either- he is repeatedly hit and has to work on the ship. After Layla gets "returned" to her cell after the huge guy took her for several days, she's unconscious and during that time Aamir is forced to do to his twin what twins are always forced to do to each other at Whitlock.

Then Everleigh arrives and explains the situation to her new slaves and has dinner with the Dragon. The Dragon put the "Whitlock special" into her wine which causes complete paralysis yet remain awake. After Everleigh is heavily drugged the Dragon walks back to their table with Bram. Apparently Main Masters stick together, no matter where they are in the world. To make sure Everleigh stays free, Luke burns her so Bram is forced to back off and let them board their plane to get out of there. In the meantime the Dragon chooses to take 27009 as his compensation from Bram. And Bram takes 27011 (Aamir) with him to Whitlock.

Clue cliffhanger.

Warning: ALL THE TRIGGERS, THEY ARE ALL HERE! Any torture or depravity you can imagine from horror movies, add in noncon/r@pe, and you have the twisted story of the unfortunate souls that reside at Whitlock.

If you recall from White Out that slave Eleven was in the Whiteroom with Everleigh, and based on this the reason Layla and Aamir are taken becomes very clear.

This novella still has Bram searching for Everleigh. It has been months and she keeps sending back the faces of his men when they fail to apprehend her. Yes, you read that right, their faces. Aamir and Layla, along with Aamir's girlfriend Jessa are on vacation in Athens when they are taken by Scout 5. Everleigh has her eyes on everything and wants the twins. However, things go really wrong with not only her plan, but Scout 5's plan. This doesn't save the three young people (the twins are 18 and Jessa is 22) and Layla suffers the most on her way to a place called Red Island. The depraved acts Layla and her twin Aamir endure changes their relationship irrevocably. This is supposed to be a stop over for them on their way to Whitlock. But only one twin is going to make it there. Also, Everleigh ALMOST gets caught by Bram, but leave it to her to plan for everything.

The next novella is Aamir's story (now known as slave Eleven). Initially, I wondered if I could skip over the novellas, but you really can't. These characters will return in the last book, Black Out.

Title: 27009
Author: A.A. Dark
Series: Welcome to Whitlock #2
Genre: horror
Heat: 2/5
Rating: 4/5

As ever, delving back into A.A. Dark's Whitlock universe is an immense pleasure—especially this instalment, which focuses rather more on Everleigh and Bram's story than the previous one. That was, in my opinion, the most intriguing part of this story: seeing the development of the two characters we've followed from 24690.

This was another episode of brutality, exploring horrific violence in a nightmarish setting, yet with its own touch of originality—which is a feat in itself, when this world and the works set in it are all, to some degree, very similar. There was much less focus on the erotic horror in this one (perhaps a good thing—that confusion is rather eerie!) and more on the other characters of Whitlock, especially the cat-and-mouse chase of Everleigh and Bram.

If I'm honest, the plot of slave 27009 sort of faded into the background for me; I much preferred the follow-up of Everleigh and Bram, and I felt 27009 was almost forgotten about. The balance wasn't quite right, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of reading this bloody, gruesome tale.
