Took me a while to figure out that Jason was the Jason from the Kingwood Duet. He was so different from the guy in that series. Sure, there were hints of "Eric" that were there, but I never connected the dots until Jason had a visitor and a job offer. Call me surprised when I put all the pieces together.

This was a sweet second-chance romance. Jason heads home trying to figure out what he does next with his life. His intent may have been to hide out at his mom's until he knew what he wanted to do, but his heart definitely has a different idea.

Delilah and Jason may have seen their high school/college relationship fall apart, but I think following their second attempt readers quickly discover they may have needed the time apart to grow up and understand what they wanted from life. They had a lot of baggage to weed through, but they found an understanding with each other than I don't think they would have had otherwise.

I devoured this one in a single sitting this morning. Sweet, hot and the perfect read for a Sunday morning.

5+ All The Feel Stars

This book was everything. And by everything, I mean EVERYTHING. I didn't think I could love S.L. Scott anymore but I was wrong. After reading the Kingwood Duet I didn't think I could love characters more than Alexander and Sarah Jane. I was wrong. I LOVED Jason and Delilah.

We first met Jason in the Kingwood Duet. He was mysterious. He kept things close to his heart and appeared cold. You only saw the fragmented pieces of him. In Solace he isn't cold. He is delightful. He is romantic. He is warm. He finds his home and in doing so he manages to put the demons to rest. His pieces are no longer fragmented but they become whole. We get to see the glimpses of a man finally finding his solace. He just needed a little faith to get there.

Delilah. Good lord. This girl is like sunshine. She reminds me off all the goodness that the South has to offer. She remains positive and unbroken even though life has not been good to her in the years that Jason was away. She is a fighter and more importantly she is resilient.

This story is romantic. It is steamy. It is about getting a second chance at love and destiny. Sometimes you have to journey a different route than what you might have dreamed. As long as you get to your destination it doesn't matter in the long run how you got there. Just that you did.

I am forever thankful that I have been blessed with receiving an Advanced Reader Copy of three of S.L. Scott's books in exchange for honest reviews. Each book gets better and better (how that is even possible considering she is phenomenal in regards to writing I will never know). She has a specific way of making you truly feel the words as tangible emotions. You can close your eyes and picture yourself in the characters shoes-- feeling every smile, tear, pain, and or heartbreak they feel. Not an easy feat.

Do yourself a favor. Read this book. Savor this book. You won't be sorry.

4 sweet and swoony second-chance stars

This is a super sweet, feel-good read with a swoony second-chance-romance and very little angst. A perfect guilty pleasure read if you’re after something light and easy with lots of emotion, and I really enjoyed it.

There is no comfort to be given from one who knows no comfort.
Can I be a man who provides solace when I can’t find my own?

Jason is man who has lost his way. He left his small-town home three years previously after having his heart broken, and found himself on the darker side of life when he stumbled into work as a hired gun. He did his job and made great money, but it’s not who he wants to be and now he doesn’t know what to do with himself. While aimlessly travelling he finds himself returning to the town of Solace, and to his childhood home and the welcome arms of his mother, to try and figure out where to next – even if being back there reminds him of the loss that still haunts him.

We were wild and in love back then with no cares in the world. But something I’ve learned is all good things must come to an end, whether by choice or circumstance. Nothing good can last.
And it didn’t.
A love so pure, so innocent in its faith – like ours – could never survive.
We didn’t survive
We were young.
We were naïve.
We were so damn in love.
And then apparently, we weren’t.

Jason and Delilah were each other’s whole worlds. The star football player and head cheerleader, they were the golden couple of the town and they loved each other fiercely. But youth, innocence and lies tore them apart. Neither have been able to move on from the other and when Jason learns that Delilah is now single and running her family’s farm on her own, he can’t stay away any longer.

It’s been too long since I’ve laid eyes on the beauty standing before me. “Hi.”
Her shoulders drop, the tension falling away as if she’s been waiting for this day, and it’s finally come. “What took you so long?”

OMG, this is a gorgeous love story! Jason and Delilah are so obviously still in love after three long years apart. The chemistry between them sizzles, and their longing for each other pulled at my heart while I was reading. It’s clear that they belong together, and neither of them hide the fact that they will want each other, and I love that! There are no lies and no game playing, they are open about their feelings and I was swept up in a world of swoon as they reconnected.

“When I said I rest better because there’s something about this place. I lied. It’s not this place.”
“What is it then?”
Cupping my face, our lips meet, but he doesn’t kiss me. “It’s you. You give me the peace I’ve needed, and the emptiness inside isn’t so empty anymore”

But the time they have been apart has left them both scarred – inside and out. There is a lot that they need to work through in order to get the happy ending that they both want so badly. And there are demons that need to be faced while they do that. It’s an emotional journey for them, but it’s handled really well, giving us a raw and deep look into all that they have been through as they fight to overcome the shadows of the past.

“Strength is found in the ashes of the fire. You’ve been burned, but you must rise because there’s so much life ahead of you to live.”

I loved Jason and Delilah’s story. It has some drama, but it’s minor, and on the whole this is a sweet, functional, easy reunion between two soulmates who so clearly belong together. And we get to see every moment - the sweet moments are plentiful, the sexy time is hot, and the swoon is off the charts. It may be a little too much for some readers, and I admit I may have skimmed some of the loved-up, gushy monologuing, but I’d much rather too much than not enough, and this book gives us everything that you would want to see for this couple – including a beautiful epilogue that left me sighing happily with a huge grin on my face.

“Stay with me.”
“I never left you. Not really.”

*dreamy sigh*

And just sayin', if there's a spin off for Billy and Shelby, I will be all over that!

Gorgeous - 4 stars.

SOLACE is a very beautifully written second chance romance between two high school sweethearts. Jason "SWOON" Koster is so SEXY, BAD A** GENTLEMAN. I first meet Jason in SL's Kindwood duet Savage and Savior as a bad a** take no s*i* from anyone who sat in the background.
In SOLACE we get to see Jason in the world he once fit in. Delilah is a sweet beautiful small town girl.
SOLACE is an emotional, swoon worthy, romantic, HOT story that had me hooked from the first page to the last. I read the whole book in one sitting. Highly recommend read!

We first met Jason in Savage and saw quite a bit more of him in Savior. He was mysterious and I wasn’t sure if he was a good guy or not. I wasn’t sure if I really liked him. All that changed with Solace. When he goes home we get to see who he truly is. He puts his past and all the bad things he did to rest and opens himself up. We see a whole new side to Jason. He is sweet, romantic, helpful, funny and kind to most everyone around him.
When he gets home he finds out that, Delilah, his high school sweetheart that broke his heart is no longer married. He makes it his mission to try and win her back. In the years Jason has been gone she has been through a lot but she has proven that she is strong and has come out the other side in one piece. Due to a big misunderstanding in the past she is wary about letting Jason close again. She is not sure she can take more heartbreak if Jason leaves again. However he convinces her for a date and their chemistry is undeniable. The sparks fly again and things get hot from there. The only question is can their love survive the demons of both their pasts? This is a great story about getting a second chance at love and holding on to with everything you have. I received an ARC for an honest review.

Besides Solace, Jason just needed Faith and a reason to stay!

I love when this happens: when I finish a book and find myself speechless, in awe, still swooning and having a hard time to write a review and start a new book. It's when I can't seem to say goodbye!

That's exactly how I'm feeling right now! Jason and Delilah were everything! They were so in synk, so connected, their chemistry was amazing and their feelings were raw, pungent, real and so so real!

We met Jason on Kingwood Duet and since then I was so drawn to him! He was so mysterious and imposing, he seemed fearless, but he also showed that under that tough surface, he was somehow soft and caring!

So when I started Solace, I was extremally excited to know more about Jason, and I was dying to know about the girl who could knot his heart and make him come back after everything: Delilah!

"My heart was always with you. The beat was just silent until I returned."

They were high school sweethearts but had both their hearts broken due to miscommunication, naiveness and a lot of (outside) lies. They were meant to be together, but had their love shattered for selfish people.

It was so heartbreaking reading about their past, knowing their emotions and angst, watching both of them finding out the truth and seeing that their love was always there, just waiting for a chance to explode again.

It was an easy love on a complicated path.

It was believable. Not even for one second, one word, one letter I doubted their love or questioned their chemistry. I believed, I felt, I suffered, I cherished. They deserved the love they had!

"What about us?" "You're the best part of my reality."

Delilah was so strong and resilient, even if she was still struggling for the aftermath of the crazy that went her life. She was a survivor! She was afraid, but she was so caring, nurturing, she used her heart on her sleeve, she was honest about her feelings.

Jason was dealing with a lot of demons from his past, he wasn't the carefree boy from high school anymore. But he was even better! He was mature, he was brave, he knew what was really important and he was oh so sweet! Don't fool yourself with his hard demeanor, he is in fact a Cuddle Bear.

And God blesses best friends (the true ones) who give their hands and friendship without condition and with all support...Like Billy (and Cruise, for that matter).

This book was amazing, incredible and got me a huge book hangover! I want more #JasonandDelilah.

"Breathe. For me. That's my only request."

My curiosity about Jason Koster was piqued when I met him in the Kingwood duet so I was more than a little excited to dive into his story. Combining my curiosity about this character and the second chance romance trope I was more than all in.

After being gone from his hometown for years, Jason finds himself drawn back. And that draw is more than just a visit with his mother even though he doesn't understand it at first. I loved watching his interactions with his mom and see flashbacks from his past. I really enjoyed watching as Jason worked through the changes in himself through the years and discovered that there was more worthy about himself than not and when he's presented with a chance to clear the air about the past and earn a second chance he discovers there's nothing more in the world he wants.

Delilah was a feisty, strong heroine who wasn't afraid to admit her mistakes but also learned the hard way that our choices often affect us in unexpected ways. She hasn't had it easy since Jason left and she's suffered her own heartbreaks but when he refuses to back down and wants to hash out the past and try to find a future together she discovers something about love she hadn't known - that in the end Real love is all that matters.

Solace is a story about more than a second chance st romance. It's a story of forgiveness, a story of learning and growing. We get to see new sides to Jason Koster, the sweet, the swoony, the slightly broken, and so many parts in the middle and we get to watch the beauty of the woman who has the ability to fix him and show him his worth. This book will touch you in many ways, it will make you laugh, it will make you rage, and it might even have you tearing up - but more than anything this book will make you feel. Feel everything.

SL Scott veered off course in a new direction from Savage and Savior. Jason’s bike went to a place I wasn’t expecting. Her previous two books were suspenseful and darker. Solace shows you the other side of how someone gets to that place. It reveals how human nature and premature thoughts and ideas can be misconstrued and send you off course. Fortunately, that bike can be bring you back to where you belong. Solace is what each one of us is looking for in life at one time or another. This book doesn’t disappoint.
Although it portrays a more simplistic and rural life ( Funny I never visualized Jason this way. Happy to report I am not disappointed). Solace still brings the angst, smiles, intrigue and heat!
It also reveals Jason’s humanity. We were mesmerized by Jason in Savage an Savior and now we get to know the real him. SL Scott gave us a treat by letting us visit with someone we previously met as well introduce us to some new characters. I’m hoping she’ll let us revisit with them again!
Big city or small town no matter where you’re from there are problems and joys. It’s called Life!
As someone famous once said.”There's no place like home”, but that doesn’t mean it’s all good. Jason decided to take the risk. He took some side trips and wrong turns to get there but in the end the journey was worth it and so is Solace. My recommendation is to read this book and enjoy the ride!

First off I have to say how much I absolutely loved the Kingwood Duet series by S.L. Scott. It was an incredible story that just drew you in and gutted you. This is where we first meet Jason. I have to say I didn't like Jason at all in this series. There was just something about him that rub me the wrong way. I have to say I have changed my mind. Solace is Jason's story and what a story it is. I fell in love with Jason in the first chapter. He was so heart broken over losing the love of his life Delilah to another guy. He didn't even understand why they broke up. He comes back to his home town to visit his mom and he is determined to leave soon after. The pull towards Delilah is so strong that he goes to her and does anything and everything in his power to get her to agree to one date. Delilah has been through so much hurt both physically and emotionally since Jason left. She is so afraid for both herself and for Jason. She goes against those fears and says yes to that date. Then the story really begins. We learn about Jason, we learn about Delilah. This book is full of so much love, fear and anguish that it will keep you reading for hours. I absolutely loved Jason and Delilah's story. We even get to visit with Cruise again. I hope he gets his own book. This book is for sure a 5 star read. I highly recommend you give it a try. I know you will not be disappointed. I voluntarily received a copy for my honest review.

I went into this story blind all I knew was that it was a second chance love story ( which I love ). It took me awhile but once I realised who the male bbf was I did a happy dance.
As I was surprised I know others will want to be too so I’m not going to mention specifics of the storyline trust me it’s better that way.
Jason and Delilah were high school sweethearts they were the couple that everyone in their small town thought would make it together but they don’t —-> uh uh not telling why.
Years after leaving Jason returns home to a Delilah he doesn’t recognise she’s no longer the feisty young girl he fell in love with. However the chemistry between them is as strong as ever.
I loved Jasons persona he’s a guy plagued with guilt because of the life he’s been living but one thing shines through his love for Delilah. He’s strong and determined with charisma in spades and so romantic. At first I thought Delilah was weak but with the help of those around her her true personality shines and it’s easy to see why Jason fell for all those years ago.
This was a story about healing, letting go of the past and second chance Love.

I didn't believe it was possible to make me like, let alone care about, Jason Koster. We first meet Jason in the Kingwood Duet but there, he's a mystery. He's just a man who passes through lives never really connecting. There's a story there. A story as to who the man is, the man he was, and the man he's meant to be.

Solace is a journey of not only a man searching for his destiny, but a woman searching for her forever. Jason and Delilah are epic romance. Their love is pure, it is all encompassing, and it is ever lasting.

With laugh out loud moments, passionate love, and a constant tenderness among the characters, Solace is a reminder that life is complicated but through it all, perseverance and passion can lead you to happiness.

If there is a Swoon City, Jason Koster is its Mayor. I'll take a one-way ticket there and be perfectly happy.

Jason Koster is a swoon worthy bad boy who I first met in the Kingwood Duet. He is a man that made me want to know more about him. Solace is a second chance romance and Jason is so worth getting his second chance.

Delilah Noelle is a woman who doesn't know what to think when Jason comes back to their hometown. She is conflicted with what has happened in the past and even the present.

Will they find their way back to each other? Can love truly overcome all things? Solace is a thing they both deserve so how will they find it and will it be together? As always I am in love with this Authors storytelling. Simply beautiful.

Oh my goodness. I was so happy to know that Jason was getting his own book after reading about him in Savage and Savior. I was curious about him and wasn't ready to say goodbye to him just yet. This story was so beautifully written by Suzy. It was perfect with tiny parts where you see his past come to play and make you smile knowing it worls so well with the story. He found his reason to stay. 💙

This second chance romance is phenomenal. I love Jason! He's such a bad boy with a heart of gold. He's caring and loyal. Betrayal and lies ruin his first chance at happiness, but he's back for his second chance. He isn't walking away without a fight this time. The story is full of surprises. It's beautiful and entertaining. I loved it!

OMG 💕. I love Jason. He was so different from the Kingwood series and it made you understand more or why he was the way he was, if that makes sense. In this book Jason was/is such a sweetheart and he tells it how it is and how he is feeling.

This is one of the sweetest second chance romance I've ever read. It gave me all the feels. I loved it so much!

Jason Koster was royalty in his small town. He was the hometown hero, football star, homecoming king, and over all good guy. He thought he had it all. That is until the girl he was so madly in love with, the girl he thought was his forever breaks up with him. He leaves for college and later finds out he's lost the girl for good, so what's the point of coming back. A series of odd jobs leads him to a very dark and dangerous life. After his last job ends he decides to go back to his home town, just to visit his mom. What he didn't expect was to find that his high school sweetheart was now single.

Delilah had it made, she was beautiful, smart, homecoming queen, the cheerleader dating the quarterback. She had always been in love with Jason, she dreamed of a future with him. But Jason was going places, he had a future away from their little home town. After being deceived and lied to she starts believing the best thing to do is let Jason go, all she was doing was holding him back. She didn't realize it was all talk and manipulation on someone else's end. She lived with a broken heart but moved on, only to find her self in a horrible relationship with an awful man. Once she is single again she works hard to try to put her life together. She has been physically and mentally abused and is ready to take her life back. She didn't expect to take back the love of her life.

Oh my, this couple! You just have to read this book. They have an undeniable connection. Their love is so pure and so sweet. Jason will make you swoon more often then not, the man can charm the pants of anyone. We get to see Delilah grow through out the story, she becomes stronger and more confident. They both realize they made mistakes and own up to them. Now adults and both with baggage, they embark on a life together. Their forever.

S.L. Scott takes us on a rollercoaster. We get a little suspense along with all the sweet and swooning. There was a moment when my heart rate picked up, I couldn't believe what was happening. I held my breath a few times expecting the worse and hoping for the best. But we get a HEA! It was a beautiful story that was wonderfully written.

If you haven't read Savage that is a must read!! It will give you a little insight on Jason, as we first meet him on Savage. Solace is a stand alone and you do not have to read Savage prior to it, but I do recommend it. S.L. Scott has definitely become a one click author for me. She delivers every single time! I have loved all of her books. Solace was no exception I 100% recommend it!!

5 "Honeysuckle" Stars!!!

Ever since Jason was introduced in 'Savage' I fell hard. I needed to know EVERYTHING about him. He was so mysterious and intriguing. He had this aura about him that was addicting. I was spellbound by Jason, and I didn't want the spell to dissipate.

Jason is plagued by demons. There's so much darkness deeply embedded inside himself. Ghosts from his past surround him. No matter how far and wide, there is no amount of distance to make him forget the one person that haunts him. As much as he tries to fight it, he can't. Because Delilah Noelle, the blue-eyed beauty, stole his heart all those years ago, and since then hasn't given it back.

Delilah is a woman who has been through a lot. Living a life she didn't expect she'd be living. Once upon a time, thinking she'd be sharing a life with the boy who captured her heart and awakened her soul. But, life is funny and doesn't always go according to plan. Now, years and broken dreams later, Delilah's life is anything but a fairytale. She's suffered unkindness from a person who was supposed to be her protector. She's lost herself along the way. Desperately seeking a glimpse of the lively girl she used to be. Dreaming of what could've been if only Jason Koster would've stayed.

When Jason and Delilah see each other it's like no time has passed. It's been years, but it feels like it was only yesterday that they laid eyes on each other. It's as if their hearts were saying, "oh, there you are. I've been waiting, it's about time you're finally home." Jason and Delilah's love was pure bliss. The intensity in which they loved was cosmic. Two souls that were perfectly made to fit each other. These two made me smile so big. I needed them to have the ending they deserved. An ending that was taken away from them. An ending that needed to end with them together like it was always meant to be.

Suzie, thank you for writing Jason's book!!! It was everything and more. I adored him and Delilah. Now, is Billy getting his own book? Because I am so here for that! 😉

This story was a fantastic second-chance romance. The author's words were beautiful and moving. It was interesting to see a totally different side to the mysterious Jason Koster, who featured in the Kingwood Duet.

"My home was never a place, but a person."

Jason has rolled back into his hometown on his sexy Harley, with his life complicated and his soul troubled. He doesn't plan on making his visit a long one. However, when he finds out that his high school sweetheart is no longer married, he can't resist going to see her. Once upon a time, she was going to be his forever. Until she wasn't. And, he's never understood why.

"She still owns me after all these years."

Delilah has never stopped loving Jason but her naivety and trusting ways led her to breaking his heart, as well as her own. Now, she's single again, and carrying her own set of painful baggage.

This story started a tiny bit slowly for me but after a chapter or two, I really got into it. Jason was previously portrayed as ruthless, dangerous and something of a loose cannon, but this story really got into the heart of who he really was. He was a man with a broken heart, who went on to live something of a fractured life.

"We were young. We were naive. We were so damn in love."

Delilah, oh, Delilah! She was so young and so trusting back then. Her gorgeous boyfriend was popular and heading towards a glittering football career. However, her immaturity and her insecurities were fed by jealousy - her own and those of someone she thought she could trust.

"Sometimes it's not the loudest voice we hear, but the soft whisper our heart feels."

The circumstances of their breakup and how they both lived their disparate lives absolutely broke my heart. I keenly felt the loss of their life together. But, their older selves were stronger, tougher, more resilient, and definitely ready to fight for something worth living for.

"My heart was always with you. The beat was just silent until I returned."

The love and passion between them was a beautiful thing - a real contrast to all they had suffered. The chemistry between them was hot and undeniable. I adored the ending.

SOLACE was such a great second chance romance it really drew me in and with the little flashbacks in appropriate areas in the story some my heart filled with warmth , sadness , anger , and heartbreak . This would be my second book I read by this author haven't read the story the hero is mentioned in but I plan to . Jason and Delilah are high school sweet hearts that were torn apart by insecurities , misunderstandings, and one jealous A hole . Once these two are faced with one another again my heart soared for them hoping they would find their way back ,and the attraction they have is still strong / electric . Jason is such a alpha hero love the relationship he has with his mom , strong , smooth talker , protective , and awesome . Delilah is such a beautiful heroine inside and out she did frustrate me at times but it was understandable and I soon got over that frustration . I hope to see more of these characters especially a certain sister and best friend .

This was not just a love story. It is a tale about fate, destiny, the mystery of the heart and emotions in which it is wrapped, and about how our heart is designed and shaped like two mirrored halves because we are only a half until the other part of our most precious organ is found. That what is Delilah and Jason's beautiful story is about. Their youthful budding romance, just on the cusp of something remarkable, is pierced by the dark, scheming selfish evil of a supposed best friend, Cole, who rips the couple's world into pieces. Yet, neither time nor life's relentless presence and twists could keep them apart. Maturity, rugged weariness, and a soft whisper of hope and unending love brings Jason back home, to the home that lives in his heart and is called Delilah. The reunion and all that surrounds it is beautifully written and described by a very gifted author who gives us everything we could want in experiencing two precious souls being melded together. I'm so happy to have found this marvelous storyteller, heart-whispered, and I eagerly recommend this continuation of the Kingwood saga, as well as all the writes.

I've been waiting for this book since I finished Savage and Savior. And it did not disappoint. If I could give it more stars I would. I was sucked in from the beginning and I really hated the adult moments that popped up during the day. Solace had my heart the whole way through. You feel it all in this book and hang onto those emotions all the way through. Such a beautiful journey. Solace is an amazing second chance romance.

You first meet Jason (as Eric) in Savage and Savior. To me he was a bit of a mystery that I wanted to know more from. And let me tell you Solace is amazing. You finally get a look into who Jason is and was. Let me tell you he is more then a hitman that he was in Savage and Savior. (Now you don't have to read those ones but really you should anyways if you haven't yet.)Jason goes home again and reconnects with his past. When Delilah renters his life the sparks fly again. There is a lot of passion, heart and soul healing and setting things right again. I adore Jason and Delilah even through everything they endure. Delilah becomes stronger and stronger in this as story goes on. She is so sweet and loveable. This book I couldn't get enough of and has turned into another favorite of mine for S.L. Scott books to date. S.L. Scott hit another winner in my eyes with Solace and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

5 I LOVE JASON STARS!! This is a beautifully written love story that has all the feels. I felt every emotion in this book and was on the edge of my seat at times. Jason is so sexy, hot and sweet, I can't stop dreaming about him. Jason returns home to relax and finds that his high school sweetheart is no longer married and feelings are still there. S.L. Scott is one of my all time favorite authors with her magical storytelling, that you can't put down. This is one book you will want to read, it is so worth the time and money. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Oh my God this book left me speechless. I did not think I could love this author any more but I was wrong. S.L. Scott puts her heart and soul in her books and that is why she is one of my top authors. I was so excited when I found out that Jason was getting his own book. This book exceeded all my expectations plus more. I was hooked on the very first page. I sat down and read this unforgettable book all the way through.

We met Jason in the Kingwood Duet and even then I loved him. He was very mysterious and there was something about him that drew me in. In the Kingwood books he was very cold and guarded. This book you see a totally different side of him. He is very romantic and sweet. After he leaves King he finds himself back at his hometown. He comes home to see his mom and also he is trying to find himself. Jason gets home and he sees his beautiful high school sweetheart, Delilah. They had a very difficult past that he just can't get over. He is hoping he can get a new start with this gorgeous woman but his past is coming back to him with a vengeance. Will Jason finally find his Solace or will he always carry his demons?

Delilah is the perfect woman of the South. She is beautiful outside as well as in. She had a horrible marriage that ended up in a very nasty divorce. She is now tired of hiding from her past life. When she finds out that Jason is back she is wanting to stay far away from him. She doesn't want her heart broke again. She quickly realizes that she still has deep feelings for Jason that never went away. Delilah starts to let Jason back in and that's when the threats start to happen. She is afraid of Jason getting hurt from her past mistakes. She also sees something in his eyes that troubles her. Will she get her happy ending that she deserves or will her past ruin it all? Will Delilah be Jason's Solace or will she create more demons for him to live with?

This story has been my favorite second chance romance to date. This book had me spellbound and I was under Jason's spell. I think this is by far my favorite book of the year. This story has it all romance, suspense, betrayal, and forgiveness. These characters will leave an indentation in your heart. Jason is gorgeous and also is bad boy. What more could a girl want. I love Jason from the beginning. He shows his true side in this book. He is my new favorite book boyfriend. Delilah is beautiful and can do no wrong. She is so sweet but she also has a sassy side that made me love her even more. These characters have some very hot and steamy scenes together. It will make your toes curl. This is the perfect bad boy and good girl second chance romance. I cannot wait to see what this talented author will write about next. Bring on Cruise!

Have you read the Kingwood duet yet? Then STOP! Read them first, I implore you! Okay, don’t want to listen to me? Whatever, you can certainly read Solace as a standalone, but trust me, you’ll get so much more out of this book if you read the Kingwood duet first. It will really give you a chance to meet Jason and Let you understand a little better why he is the way he is.

So, assuming you haven’t read the Kingwood duet, you’ll meet Jason Koster, a man that has been away from his hometown for about four years. He left after seeing his girl cozying up to his best friend. The two later married and there was really no reason to stick around. So Jason travels around the U.S. doing odd jobs here and there, accumulating some wealth around the way. Upon learning that his former girlfriend and love of his life, Delilah, is now divorced from her abusive husband Clay, he decides to return.

Jason has decided that maybe after working one job after another, small town life is for him. He’s decided to stick around, working around his mom’s house as well as Delilah’s farm, which she is struggling to keep, given Clay mortgaged it to help pay for his gambling habit. But will Jason always feel like someone is coming to get him given his former line of work? How willing is he to put those he loves in the line of fire?

OMG I loved this book! I loved the mysterious Jason Koster in the Kingwood duet. We really knew very little about him although he played a very essential part in certain parts of the books. Solace helped to explain just where he was coming from and what he had to lose if he kept up with the lifestyle he was living.

I’ve said I loved this book, so it should go without saying that I loved the characters as well. I wanted to root for Jason and Delilah from page one and by the end of the book I wanted more! And please tell me there is going to be a book for Shelby (Delilah’s sister) and Billy (a friend of Jason’s)! The two were absolutely adorable together and I have no doubt you could find some type of angst or conflict there!

The book is told in the first person from both Jason and Delilah’s points of view, which I absolutely loved. So, like I said earlier, try to read the Kingwood duet first, but if you must read this as a standalone, enjoy Jason and Delilah, I know I did. I’m a sucker for second chances and Scott hit this one out of the park!

I received an advance copy of this title for review purposes.

SOLACE by S.L. Scott is a wonderful Second-Chance Romance that takes place in a small town. Although it can be quite readily read as a standalone novel, we have met the character Jason in her Kingwood Duet Series. In that series I don't even think I liked the character Jason/Eric. But in Solace I loved the character Jason. In the Duet I really liked the couple Alexander and Sarah Jane. In Solace I love the couple Jason and Delilah.

Jason Koster has returned tired and weary to his hometown. He visits his mother's house with a lonely, broken heart. He is troubled and haunted by the things he has done and witnessed since he left there many years ago. He had been the hometown hero, the quarterback and homecoming king. What he had left was his heart and soul with his high school sweetheart Delilah Noelle. When he had heard that the former beauty queen had married his “former” best-friend Cole, he thought that was the end of their story. When his mother tells him that they are newly divorced, he can't help but have hope. Could all the misunderstandings, hurt, and two broken-hearts ever mend to have a second chance?

With sins and secrets trailing after Jason and Delilah with a jealous, vindictive, and dangerous ex-husband, can these two soul-mates find a way back with all the obstacles in their way? Jason just knows, with the only girl he had ever loved in his arms, his restless heart finds rest, comfort, and Solace.
