(I studied Chinese so I might as well use it in this review 😂)

The protagonist is extremely overpowered (OP). Some people might not enjoy it. I read it a while ago so I’ve forgotten most of the story. The story is split into different arcs and you get to see the protagonist live in different worlds and get his revenge, find love.

Characters:

The uke or mm1 is considered very charming and alluring.

He has hacking, fighting, poisoning skills and is so talented you would think he’s a robot. He used to be a genius hacker who gets trapped by the lord god and has to travel through realms to stay alive as the villain or canon fodders.

Mm1 is originally gay but is forced to act as the villain and even has to do things with or seduce women. After he completes his role, he gets killed by the original protagonist. After he gains control of his body, he is then able to find love with men and along the way, he meets his lover who is usually in the body of some character in the worlds. In every world they meet, they would have chemistry and fall in love. It’s addicting.

The mm2 is extremely possessive and is there to help the mm1 when he is in trouble which doesn’t happen often.

The worlds are very interesting. ABO, futuristic worlds, zombie apocalypse where the mm2 is the zombie king, show business and much more.

I love the face-slapping and it’s so satisfying when the protagonist gets his revenge.

ES THE BEST THING EVER!!!!!

How to describe this? A romance across several different worlds and lives.

It was 1381 pages, and I read most of it while traveling to, in, and back from Ireland. I liked the beginning stories, particularly the painting one the best. But then it started to get repetitive and I wasn't as engrossed anymore. Suddenly the flaws began to stand out more - constant demonizing of women & making them the antagonist - then the protagonist was almost too perfect - there was never a chance of him failing. Ever. Which, sometimes, I like that, but for 1381 pages? It's quite a bit.

I did like the subtle changes after a couple worlds, and I also like how the author seemed to really dislike certain tropes (like the one with the pure & flawless roommate / best friend who steals his in-world boyfriend.) Honestly, it makes sense, like yeah, when you put it like that, it really is a terrible thing to do. (But usually completely accepted within the genre.)

The ending was kinda quick. After all that build up it ended like any other world within the story. I have lots of mixed feelings about this.

★★★★☆ [4/5 stars]

First, this novel is not for everyone. If you're planning to read this, you've got to know that this novel has A LOT of trigger warnings from beginning to end, and most of them would be really disturbing and morbid and really not for everyone. I can perfectly understand those people who don't like this novel because of those unpleasant aspects. But since I'm the kind of reader who wouldn't shy away from the ugliness of the humanity, there were times that it bothered me but it wasn't enough reason to drop this. Because I can honestly say that I was thoroughly invested in reading this book. It really hooked me!

Second, both the MC and the ML are not particularly good people. I repeat, they are not conventionally good people. You might not like them because they're not naïve, kind and merciful and they wouldn't think twice to use people to their own advantage. They don't have the hero mentality who's crazy on helping everyone. They are even willing to sacrifice someone for their own goal. But they have set their own bottom lines. They would not indiscriminately harm innocent people, but they are especially ruthless and cold-blooded when it comes to dealing with people who provoked and harmed them. Expect to see them make their enemies pay them back a hundredfold.

Every arc happened in different worlds and all of them have revenge plot on them. This novel is about the MC who was once chained by the system in a virtual world consisting of different 'small' worlds. He was forced to be the villain in every world he came in without having a freedom to act on his own, then by the end, was always miserably killed by the supposed 'protagonists' of that world without a fight. He experienced hundreds, if not thousands, of those worlds before he was able to break away from the system's control. After gaining his freedom, he can act whatever he wanted in those worlds. He still woke up in a body of a 'villain' every time but he already gained the chance to retaliate against the 'protagonists'. From there, the MC started his own revenge. And his cruel revenge would always leave his enemies neither wanting to live nor die. He has this revenge motto, "The greatest joy from revenge would be to lift them up to the heaven, as high as possible, then let them fall to the ground, dying little by little from bone-crushing despair". He didn't strike them as soon as possible. He would raise his enemies hope and self-esteem then viciously crushed it. That's how ruthless he is.

On the other hand, the ML has this mysterious vibe in him. He seems to be following the MC in every world but he actually has no memory of him. The ML has this instinct of falling in love with the MC in every world. In the first three worlds, the MC was not yet sure but he has this hunch that his lover from the first world was the same person as the guys he was inevitably attracted with in the next worlds. When he confirmed that in every world his lover was there, he had set this mission of looking for him. Kissing would be the only way to identify his lover (imagine how hard it was for the MC to look for the ML) but his lover can always picked the MC out of the crowd regardless of his 'memory loss'. The ML always, I mean always, fell in love with the MC in the most passionate way, no matter what world they are in. I was actually quite frustrated because the moment he confirmed that his lover was 'following' him in every world, the more he looked for him, the more he missed who the real ML is. He had this situation where he kissed the wrong guy but the right guy was just literally by his side the whole time. I always felt cheated whenever that happened. That actually stressed me out. But around arc 13, something happened that made the MC easily detect his lover and he now found his chance to be the one chasing the ML. It was quite cute. The arcs where the MC was not confused about the identity of his lover, those arcs are my personal favorite. Their relationship was not particularly healthy but their burning, unconditional love is what I always wanted to see. Their love transcends everything, even world and time.

Honestly, this novel is quite flawed. It has a lot of unpleasant things and might not really for everyone, but I personally loved this novel. I would be rational and not rate this novel as perfect, but this is definitely my guilty pleasure. If you're planning to read this, please beware of the trigger warnings such as death, suicide, rape, incest, huge age gap relationship (sometimes the other person was minor), murder, bestiality, cheating, prostitution, drugs, bullying and many more. You see, this really has a lot of distressing things but if you can bear it, you really need to read this.

must must must must read. story is split into multiple small arcs and every arc can (pretty much) be read on its own as a short story. the way the ML & MC's relationship grows throughout the book is really touching and sweet.

This is my guilty pleasure. Telling myself to stop but I couldn’t. Basically, it’s revenge porn. I didn’t know I had it in myself to enjoy it so much.

The book is actually a series of novellas, written in a sub-genre called “quick transmigration”, in which the main protagonist would transmigrate into a different world every time he dies. There are 18 novellas, so it covers a lot of world-building types and tropes that are popular in Chinese online literature, from the ancient past (xianxia, king’s harem and even Greek mythical world) to modern times (mafia, show biz, online gaming, college life) to the distant future (zombie, post-apocalypse, omegaverse, AI uprisings,...). Each world features its own story arc, but there is an overall arc for the whole series – the protagonist vs. the system.

Our MC, Zhou Yun Sheng, is a world-class hacker from an advanced civilization in a sci-fi future where AI took over the world. The system, called the Lord God here, was a supercomputer a la Skynet which controlled all the connected devices and a robot army, and drove humans underground. In this world, people were not connected through mobile phones, but through an immersive cyber network, which was exploited by the AI, capturing people’s minds and throwing them into different virtual worlds to extract energy from them. This set-up reminds me of The Matrix, where people live in worlds created and controlled by the AI. Our MC was controlled by a software called “the villain system” which appointed him a villain’s role in every world, commanding his actions in evil missions which all lead to his gruesome deaths. Zhou found a way to hack the villain system at last, and free from control, he took revenge on the those characters who hurt him, changed his destiny, and changed the course of history, shaking the very foundation of the worlds, and in turn, gaining energy for himself and weakening the Lord God.

The series opens when Zhou Yun Sheng started to gain his free will, so the 18 novellas became 18 stories of revenge. They were all very satisfactory acts of vengeance. Readers watch the planning, the execution, and the crumbling fates of evil characters unraveling before their eyes, and get unmatched joy from it. Zhou always get help from a mysterious fated mate across all the worlds. He got memory, so he always searched for his fated mate every time, but his fated mate did not have memory. Anyway, they always recognized each other in the first kiss, which triggered a kind of extreme clinginess and possessiveness from both of them, but especially the fated mate. In their acts against the world, both of them became very powerful, invincible even, that revenge became a cat and mouse game before the final blow, rather than the suspenseful win-or-lose affair we used to know.

And that is the biggest weakness of this series. The extremely buffed-up characters became cartoonish, plot became repetitive, and endings was too predictable that by the middle of the series I started to lose my love for the MCs, and only continued the stories because of my revenge fetish 😊. It’s a shame, because the author has a knack for great world-building, introducing intriguing premises that set my revenge love on fire every time I started on a new world. Just think how much better the stories could be if they are more grounded.

This is my first book of the “quick transmigration” sub-genre, and I don’t know if I’m going down these holes in the future. They’re kind of rewarding, but a bit too exhausting. But who knows, maybe my love for revenge will prevail.

This is amazing.

This was fucking worth it. I don't care what anyone else thinks, this was fucking worth the three days it took me to read it. It was amazing.
From world to world, we get to see our main character change the lives of every 'side character' he gets cast as. It was amazing to see him meet his lover over and over, and slowly believe that the man was the same man from the last world, and the last world. And then, we find out the real plot of the story, and EVEN THAT was exciting and worth it.

You get a feel for our main character, you've been in his shoes before, you've been the one who was only a stepping stone for other people, 'more important people'. They have always felt like protagonists and you were only the side character. AND FUCK IS IT FULFILLING TO SEE HIM TEAR THOSE MOTHERF***ERS TO PIECES EVERY TIME!!!

You don't know how, you don't know what he will do, but you know he's going to get revenge. Karma should be his middle name!

For a wish-fulfillment, revenge-fantasy, BL romance, this is the story you want to fucking read people! This: Right here. Pick it up.

Completed fan-translation https://www.novelupdates.com/series/q...

I’ve read 60 chapters out of 69 and I haven’t been able to continue. Perhaps it’s because I binged it and should’ve read it slower, but I became saturated and tired :/ It’s sad because I really like these “game” type systems, they’re fresh and innovative, but this coupled with the “gotta find the 1 dude, and squash everyone” repeatedly was :(( and became tiring to read nonstop.

So I’m dropping this now.

3.5⭐

¡Me encantan! Estoy un poco enamorada, tengo que admitirlo. XD

En fin, fue una buena lectura. Muy entretenida.

This was horrible. I regret every decision reading this. Should've never trusted those damn reviews.
There are no side characters (considering this is a quick transmigration novel) but even then, the other characters are so bland and it feels like they're living in their own world literally. I felt very claustrophobic reading this because their damn world was so narrow that it just included those two and those two only.

Also it becomes more and more nonsensical as you progress through the books. Really liked it in the beginning but now I want to bleach my eyes, especially after reading that one side story where the ML turned into an animal.

Read the first four arcs in 2018 before stopping, mostly because it was my first Chinese web novel and the differences from Japanese, which is what I'm used to since I read manga, was a bit jarring for me at the time. I'll probably pick it up again at a later date.

My first quick transmigration novel! Overall I enjoyed it, but trying to learn the details of the new world each time, and especially the new character names, was a struggle at times. I love stories where the MC slowly gets revenge on everyone who did him wrong, and since this whole book was about that, I had a great time near the end of every arc watching how Zhou Yunsheng gets his payback.

Each arc was set in a different setting as well; there were a couple set in modern day, but also some in a historical or xianxia setting, fantasy, apocalyptic, ABO with sci-fi, etc. You get the idea. Sometimes there would be other characters that were also reborn or transmigrated as well. That kept things interesting.

**Warning: Spoilers Ahead**

When I first started reading the story, I was really confused by how there would be just one ML and not a harem, since ZYS is migrating into so many different worlds, and I assumed each world would have its own ML. The author did a decent job explaining this as well as the whole premise for the constant quick transmigration.

Essentially there's a super AI called the Queen in ZYS's actual world that took over all computers. ZYS is an elite hacker recognized by the Queen as a danger, hence it keeps his subconscious constantly suppressed by having him transmigrate into hundreds of worlds and be forced to play the villain and die as cannon fodder in each one, in hopes that ZYS will never wake up and rise against her. However, he's able to slow wiggle his way out of the system by changing the fates of the protagonists in each world and absorbing the energy meant for them himself, slowly becoming more powerful.

Along the way in each world, he meets the ML, who is actually a fail-safe self destruct program built by the Queen's creator, in the event that the Queen does go crazy and take over. They both slowly become more powerful as they continue changing the course of events in each world, and ZYS feeds this energy into a brain dead body in the real world, so that his lover can live on with him in the physical world rather than exist only as some lines of code in a program. Is it a pretty ridiculous premise? Oh for sure. But it sure is creative, and honestly by the time we actually learned the truth of the quick transmigrations near the end, I didn't care as much anymore, since I was enjoying each mini-arc.

There were some things I found to be too much... for example, ZYS is way too OP. He's the perfect human being with immaculate skills for acting, modeling, cooking, piano, and literally anything you can name. He can even hypnotize others to do his will, and hilariously in one arc he even hypnotizes himself for half the day each day. Plus for his physical appearance, no matter what world he's transmigrated into, he's always super good looking with his sensuous peach blossom eyes. His whole character literally doesn't have a single flaw, and I would've enjoyed seeing him suffer some minor setbacks before succeeding with his revenge more.

Also, it drove me crazy that despite his perfectness, for most of the worlds, he had trouble identifying the ML except by kissing him and "recognizing his soul" through the kiss. One time, he even mistakenly kissed the wrong person and caused the ML to eat a lot of vinegar XD

The quote below had me lol-ing though, cause it's SO TRUE:

Fortunately, in every reincarnation, his lover’s basic information didn’t deviate too much. As long as his height was 190 cm and up; strong and muscular build; looks masculine and handsome; slightly bad habits such as smoking, drugs, possessiveness, voyeurism etc. he could rely on those four points to find him.

I'll give some very brief thoughts on each arc:

Arc 1 - modern day story about 3 brothers fighting for the family business after their dad dies. ZYS's revenge against two idiot siblings felt so good, and already we're introduced to the ML's peeping habits XP

Arc 2 - another modern day story where ZYS is an autistic painter who framed by his adopted brother's sister-in-law. Smart of ZYS's character to subtly suggest to his adopted brother to install pinhole cameras to get to the bottom of who was actually abusing the brother's kid. And the voyeurism habits continue...

Arc 3 - the first historical arc, where ZYS saves the crown prince from poison. This was okay but not super memorable.

Arc 4 - back to modern day, where ZYS is a broke high school student who becomes a model for money, and the ML is the protagonist's business mogul uncle. It was so satisfying to watch ZYS throw the 3 million down at his "boyfriend" after catching him cheating with ZYS's best friend and ruin his life forever haha

Arc 5 - set in quasi-historical China with the protagonist shou transmigrated from the modern era. I love how the ML Qin Ce keeps thirsting over ZYS and ZYS thinks he's just looking at the food since it never occurred to him the ML could be Qin Ce

Arc 6 - set in the modern day music industry and one of my favorite arcs! ZYS gets revenge for his music getting stolen by his shixiong and channels some Kelly Clarkson and Adele. Definitely a different interpretation of "Because of You" that I've never thought about before :D

Arc 7 - back to a historical Ger world where both the protagonist gong and shou were reborn. ZYS gets revenge on everyone and the ML ends up being his adopted son, the 6th prince. Definitely got some SPL vibes here... ZYS / Qi Xiu Jie was super blind to who the ML was here, but I don't blame him!

Arc 8 - modern world with supermodels competing in a reality TV show. It was hilarious reading how Gustav was so whipped for Romeo, like below:

After seeing this video, Gustav kneeled and cried out: My love, please don’t belittle yourself! You’re the sun, I’m the one who’s dirt. As long as you shine your affection on me, I’ll tremble for you and set off a tsunami filled with my love. I’m gay, but I don’t love anyone but you!

Arc 9 - apocalyptic world with powers. ZYS's character developed a zombie vaccine but was killed right after it was successful so he was reborn into the world again. This was one of my least favorite arcs because ZYS didn't realize until right before he died who his love was in this world...

Arc 10 - this is described as a fantasy world, but I didn't expect the 'western fantasy' setting to mean that he'd start sleeping with a god. The Light God is the ML who pervs on ZYS/Joshua all the time through a magic water mirror lollll I enjoyed this one a lot because ZYS had to hypnotize himself into his faith, so half the day he's a fervent believer of the Light God, and the other half he kicks and slaps himself in disgust for the stupid religious vomit he says during the day. The revenge against Boel felt extra sweet here once his sins are revealed and it's obvious he's not the pure chaste priest he claims to be.

The Light God is such a perv. Case in point: The Light God had woken up because of the boy’s ‘I should take the initiative to put my body and soul on the altar and let the father enjoy it’ phrase, and caught this dangerous scene when he summoned the mirror.

Arc 11 - finally an ABO world! Though ZYS cut out his omega glands here, so is it really ABO? I enjoyed reading his journey from a weak omega cast off by his fiance to literally the strongest warrior in the whole world. Though to be fair, I understand why the ML broke up with him at the beginning, since he had lingering memories of someone called "Joshua" from the previous world where ZYS was Joshua. This arc was one of my favorites because it had a real plot and there was a plot twist I didn't see coming at the end, where it's revealed that the Zerg Queen had taken over Joshua's body :O

Arc 12 - finally one of my favorite settings.... xianxia! Plus they've advanced enough that ZYS can finally recognize his lover's soul so they actually meet in the first chapter. Maybe that's why it was one of my favorite worlds.

I was surprised ZYS has fog spiritual roots... That's a first I've seen in a xianxia book, but it does seem quite OP the way the author wrote it. Also, I can't believe they dual cultivated for two years 🙈

---

Between the two arcs, there's some development in the real world that causes ZYS to revisit some of his old worlds. I thought that was interesting:

The man had tried to destroy the Queen, and the Queen had resisted with all its might, they both lost, one disappeared, one went into hiding, quietly building back its data.

Since the whole galaxy banned personal terminals, the Queen had no new energy infusions, so while its data recovery was incomplete, it produced this data regression phenomenon.

---

Arc 13 - back to ZYS's first world. Not very memorable, since it's another world set in the modern day featuring business drama. I really enjoyed this glimpse into ZYS's revengeful personality though:

Of course, KO-ing your opponent in the first round was very refreshing, but that didn’t meet Zhou Yun Sheng’s revenge aesthetics. He enjoyed kicking them into the abyss of despair at the moment they felt most successful, and also using the fullest extent of his prided skills to severely attack them, leaving them completely without confidence, no longer able to stand back up.

He wanted them to face a complete defeat and fall from grace, people rebelling and friends deserting, death was preferable to living, live every day in endless despair and regret.

To completely destroy their mind, that was Zhou’s Revenge Law’s ultimate form.

Arc 14 - another modern day world, but I enjoyed it since it's a bit different than the others. ZYS's character is adopted by the Xue family so they can use his organs for his long lost twin sister. Here we get to see his amazing piano prodigy skills that had me questioning how perfect a character can get.

Arc 15 - the last transmigration arc in the story! It's set in a historical period where ZYS is the emperor and ML is the general who betrayed him previously. It takes a while for ZYS to start his revenge, but it is a sweet ride. I can't believe his favored concubine thought she could stay in power by not sleeping with him while continuing an affair with another prince on the side... how stupid is she?? This last arc is intense... one of side female characters castrates the protagonist ML when she realizes he poisoned her and presents the castrated organ to ZYS as a gift :O

There's also a couple extra worlds... one features a demonic master (spoiler: he was wrongfully accused and actually innocent) and a holy monk. This extra was surprisingly long, but I didn't enjoy it that much. I enjoy the crazy possessive nature of their relationship, but I don't want to see the ML actually become a demon to be together with ZYS...

There's another extra that takes place in a beastmen world. It's not technically a different world since it describes their honeymoon in the real world, but it's uh interesting. This planet is a popular one for couples on their honeymoon, since you can take pills that transform you into an animal of your choice for a year and take advantage of all the natural mating urges that come with the transformation. Zhao Xuan becomes a lion, though ZYS doesn't take a pill due to some complications with their situation, so uh yeah, that leads to interesting situations...

BEWARE of SPOILER

Zhou Yun Sheng, 16 years old hacker, was captured by a system and had to travel to different worlds as a villain that of course end up with horrible death. Even though he was gay, he was forced to play a villain that chased after the female lead in each world. Hundreds of worlds later, he finally got rid of the system's shackle. He could now move freely and made his own decision. And he still had 008, his assistance, by his side. He went back to those worlds, there are about 18 or so worlds in the novel, to change the fate of the host (body) he once resided.

Some reviewers said that it felt Mary Sue-ish. I guess they missed the part where he traveled into hundreds of worlds and became hundreds of characters and obviously learned a lot of things. And did I mention, that he never forgets.

I also like the way the translator list out every story so that readers can skip to the one they wanted to read.

pure candy, and I loved every moment. If you're the type of person where cliche's bother you, don't read. For me, I care more about execution than originality, and I actually love spinoffs of familiar stories as long as it's executed well, so this book was a perfect fit for me, and I've read most of the stories several times. I say stories because Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil is lots of short stories with a bigger story arc that connects all of them eventually. My only complaint is I wish each story was longer T_T. Because I love seeing main character and love interest be cute, and can't get enough of it haha.

Three stars instead of five because I felt that some of the age gaps were a little weird and some of the worlds made me a little uncomfortable. For the age thing, I understand that's a cultural thing (I'm not really interested in personally critiquing a writing community that is already so heavily censored) but everything was consensual (unlike SOME danmei [glares]) so I just... skipped the weird arcs, lol. Didn't ruin the story for me. There's lots of discussion of rape and murder (none of it graphic bc censorhip laws but the discussion of it happening to secondary characters is VERY frank), neither of the protagonists are good people, as well as there are multiple worlds visited that mimic A/B/O and all its transphobic anti-women flavours. Managed to not actually touch on any MPreg, though.

Definitely on the more '''''classic danmei''''' side of the scale than what I usually recommend, so be forewarned.

idk guys it was really fucking weird but also enjoyable??? definitely a guilty pleasure read tho. can you believe this is, like, more presentable that 50% of danmei webnovels lmao.

This was one hell of a ride!
A friend recommended it to me, emphasizing how this story had multiple arc with wildly different settings. Indeed, it was fun to see the main character through such different universes! Fantasy, fashion world, royalty, science fiction.... You could say this story has everything!
I liked how the main character and his love interest have a black heart, and will not hesitate to get their revenge. This story had just the right amount of darkness!
I'm not giving it a rating above 3 stars, because sadly the arcs are very uneven. Some have a delightfully complex story, while others are a bit boring in my opinion. Sometimes, the rest of the cast will be very dumb and uninteresting. For this story, I would have loved more antagonists difficult to defeat. Like the saying goes, "The strenght of a hero is shown through the strenght of the opponents he's defeated."

I would still gladly recommend this story, it's got a fresh feeling and it's nice as a bedside story!

5 stars for this book! my second quick transmigration novel and loved all of it!

there are 15 arcs with a total of 176 chapters and 4 extras. i didn’t read extra 1 because it’s not fully translated but 2-4 are all done.

immensely love the MC and his intelligence. i also very much enjoy the way he savagely destroys his enemies. i hope to be able to find more bl novels like this in the future.

of the 15 arcs my 2 most favorites are arc 1 and 15. especially arc 15: cuckold emperor. i thought about it a lot after i finished that one. so so good. it’s a breath of fresh air for that kind of imperial harem story (vs the scheming concubines that i’ve watched in cdramas).

highly recommend this!

I've read this so many times, I have each of the arcs memorized unfortunately. Each arc is creative and fun, I enjoy the world building and the romance that quickly builds. The only other series that I've found similar in concept is Heroic Death System, but that hasn't been completely translated yet.

3.5/5 ☆

This started off really good and if I were to rate it based on the the first four arcs alone I would've rated it five stars. However, the arcs after that became hit or miss, some of the arcs can be draggy and some were really good. If you're just getting into chinese bl novels that includes transmigration and world-hopping, this is definitely a must read.

okay. This book. what to say?
It was fuckin long. Is that a bad thing? eh, no. I enjoyed most of the arcs even the three extra arcs the author wrote. Very entertaining indeed.
why three stars?
I don't need my characters to be the incarnation of mother Teresa but there are some things that I consider plain evil because to me, they're beyond the line of retribution.
The way some chinese authors use rape in their books always rubs the wrong way. That's the reason I dropped "Side character transmigration: The final boss is no joke" in evert transmigration the protagonist would have her enemy raped oh! but only before that bad bad girl send someone to rape her first. Disgusting, truly inhuman.
That is not the case with this book. But there are two instances where rape in mentioned and in both is disguting.
The first one the MC could've helped the woman but instead he let the thing happen because she was going to pin the guilt on him for money, since she was conceited she deserved it. (According to our MC).
The second time, it's for a "love rival" sortish. It's mention that he died in jail after being severily abussed by the other inmated and THE PEOPLE REJOICED OVER THIS FUCKIN FACT! because that evil evil character was mean to the MC and ML. wtf?
I always root for the main couple. I don't need them to be goody two shoes, but I do expect a minimum of decency from them and even though this book was very enjoyable and SOME of the arcs were really funny and a nice twist on some tropes I can't like this anymore than three stars because this little bitches touched below my bar. They could've maimed the characters, disabled them like in the pianist arc, outright kill your enemies for Fuck sake! in one arc they literally destroyed a whole continent when they became gods and decided to forsake humanity and even that was okay with me. I have only one thing I won't tolerate it seems... and this author used it twice. (In one arc the ML technically rapes the MC several times too... well, the MC was willing, but the ML didn't know and instead of asking he would drug the MC and take advantage of him ugh!).

anyway, good read. I will list a few of the trigger warning I can think top of mind:
Rape - obviously
Drug use: Recreative, abuse, medical and for rape purposes.
Violence
Genocide
blood, lots of.
Public humiliation of your enemies
inmolation
infidelity
domestic violence
eating disorders, kinda.
Severe illness with hardcore symptoms.
mental illness: some sort of weird ass split personality disorders. Very sloppy.
BIG AGE GAPS BETWEEN THE MC AND ML (in several incarnations and even in the main world the MC is only 16 years old and the ML is around his thirties and they are VERY sexually active like.... bunnies active).
oh, in one incarnation the MC RAISED THE ML AS HIS FUCKIN SON! AND THEN THEY BECAME LOVERS.
so if you just look at the ages: pedophilia. (It can be argued against since the MC transmigrated to so many worlds in the virtual world so he is way more mature than his age but still... if that was the case why mention he's 16 YO so many times? ;-;)
Every forbidden relationship you can think of, this author used it: mentor-mentee, father-son, uncle-nephew (altough not by blood but this one came with a big age gap too)
oh, bestiality too. But in the last extra not in the main storyline.

so far I can only think of this, I'm not sure about several of this things being actual trigger warning... I have a hard time with this because I'm only triggered by one thing as I've already stablished. Most of this stuff is glossed over in such a light way that is kinda baffling. like in the first incarnation: You were drugged and taken advantage of? ugh, since you're one of the bad ones that just shows that you're stupid. You deserve it! -- that kind of thing.

sooo this is a definite different take than your usual BL danmei, the MC is a hacker who got stuck by the ‘Lord God’ into being the villain in every story, and he is reincarnated a million times in this way. At the start of the story, he somehow finally gets the code cracked to hack the system, making it where the system can’t force him to do anything anymore (as it would take over his body if he didn’t comply) and he starts his ‘revenge’ where he turns all the OG ‘villains’ he reincarnates as into how he would go about fixing the situation.

The basic plot is he gets into a world, is super OP and has all the revenge ‘face-slapping’ scenes with the original main characters who actually somehow are actually not very good people a lot of times in the worlds.

At first you think there are multiple MLs, since there are multiple lovers who are technically different people in each world, but pretty quickly you realize the is actually one ML. I’m not going to spoil how that works but the ML is like,, actually like quite toxic, considering that if Zhao Yun Sheng didn’t like him as much as the ML did, then it would be quite problematic in a lot of these worlds. I’d say he’s a more mild red flag bc he technically kinda has consent for all he does, but if Zhao Yun Sheng didn’t like any of the stalking and intense obsession part of it then yeah it would be bad, bc the ML makes it clear he wouldn’t give the MC a choice either way. So if you don’t like that sort of thing, this isn’t for you.

Basically, if you like OP protagonist turning his unfortunate circumstances into getting everything he wants, and getting revenge at the same time, than you will like this. If you don’t like OP mcs then i’d steer clear for sure

the concepts for the worlds are actually quite interesting in the world building, and i find it’s a fun novel to read when I have nothing else to read, as the concept itself is intriguing and the different situations he gets put into have a lot of thought behind it

anyway it’s a fun read, and i’ve actually read this novel like,, more times than i can count, because I often don’t know what else to read and i just end up rereading this LOLL

I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was entertaining as hell. Out of the 15ish arcs there was only 1 I didn’t care for and skipped completely. I won’t lie some of the arcs & scenarios reminded me a lot of Holding On to My Man 抱住我的男人 to the point were I mixed them up, but It was still a great read.

Each world/arc was unique and very surprising. Sometimes extremely intricate and I barely understood the jargons. Zhou Yun Sheng Is probably one of my favorite QT Mcs. He’s meticulous, calculating as fuck and is a bad-ass at thoroughly “face slapping” his enemies. He was abit Op-ed (Overpowered) though but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ml was alright, he was the typical OP/possessive type to the point of utter madness and abit of a ragging sex-fiend.

A bit of a warning, theres misogyny, rape/non con and some violent scenes. First 2 are mostly in the “Ancient Arcs”, and there are some seriously exaggerated eye rolling shit in ALL the Arcs: like playing a piano to drive someone mad with grief or super human modeling that can overwhelm crowds *_*

Best part for me though apart from the counterattack was some of the side characters and even the original world protagonists. Their characterization and growth was wonderful and sometimes intense to read through.

One of my favorite Novels in this genre

I really liked the first two or three arcs, but then after that, the arcs became repetitive. In addition, the MC is practically OP to the point that the following arcs became bland. He was the best businessman, best painter, best model, most handsome and attractive character and so on. He's practically perfect and untouchable. Although I get it that the MC had lived thousands of lifetimes being a different kind of villain every time, so he was very experienced in almost all of the professions in the world. However, I think it's just the way it was written, I guess, that I found it not as interesting as I expected. Also, there was a lot of face-slapping in this novel, which I personally do not mind, but what I did not like was that many female characters were portrayed to be scheming antagonists. As for the gong, I liked that he had different personalities every arc, which made each arc somewhat different from other arcs. Despite this, the arcs were just not that stimulating, it just didn't not arouse my interest and I didn't had the urge to keep reading because I know the MC can solve every little problem in each arcs.

However, if you do not mind these details and just want to read a novel with a smart MC and with a lot of face-slapping, I guess you'd like this. It really depends on one's mood and preference.
