Four full firefighter romances, together for one fireproof price!
From international bestseller Rachael Herron (and real-life fire dispatcher), comes a series too delightful to put down: Blaze, Burn, Flame and Heat. The Firefighters of Darling Bay don’t even know they’re searching for flames of their own. By falling in love with four-alarm women, will they all rescue their own hearts?
This heartwarming, hilarious, and red-hot contemporary romance will leave you wishing for a marina view (and a hot fireman or three) of your very own.
This is not a drill! Playing with fire has never been this fun!
I've had a lot of jobs in the past, but writing is the best job of all. I'm also a 911 dispatcher for a tiny fire department in a small, rural town. Surprisingly, compared to waitressing or bartending (I can balance a tray while whipping up a batch of mojitos), dispatching is a walk in the park with fewer surly customers. You have to be a schizophrenic octopus to love doing 911 -- I am definitely that.
I've lived for enough years in the big city to appreciate the small town life, especially when that life is the really good one, out here on the Northern California Coast.
I'm happily married and addicted to all things romantic, including surprise getaways to San Francisco for clam chowder or overnight trips to Napa for wine, but I've also found that being romantic at home can be just as exciting (or more so!).
There are lots of places you can find me out in this wide world besides Goodreads, and I'd love to chat with you at all of them. Facebook makes me a little nervous because I'm shy. I like Twitter best, by the way. And you.
3.5 Fire Guys and Love * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free I ran across this when it was free and how can you turn away from Free Firemen...This has 4 stories and each one tackles the emotional concerns of either the guys or their love interests. Each short story has some heart and longing which cause the couple to work through their issues.
My favorite, Flame, dealt with the most complex and current issues; addictions, rape and self-defense training. There was also a love story that had both characters who had a past history which laid bare the feelings they still had for each other.
What was most impressive in this particular story was the man who had been "love burned" once already from before...He had his second chance with his woman and when the two of them finally acknowledge this chemistry...Just the way he talked to her...telling her what he wanted to do was hotter than his section's title Flame... It was more of an Inferno...
These books are more sweet than explicit and they were already published under Rachael Herron's other writer's name, Lila Ashe.
I'm very confused by the author change in Goodreads, my Nook book clearly has Rachael Herron's name on it and it has the same characters as in the intro series I got.
I read Burn: Coin & Lexie on a 6 hour flight, it was easy reading.
Burn: Hank & Samantha took a few days longer because I barely read on vacation. I read quite a bit on the return flight.
Each of these stories was very well done! Excellent writing, characters, humor, and situations. Couldn't put them down! The only thing that keeps me from giving them five stars, was that I did not realize they would be "sweet" stories. There is all this build up of tension, and then it just sort of...gets skipped over. If you enjoy that sort of thing, grab these up. For me, though, it left the novellas feeling incomplete. Given how great they were otherwise, that was a little disappointing. I would still totally recommend them, I just think the book description could use some tweaking, so the reader gets what they are expecting. One last note-- these may be the same stories published by Lila Ashe, possible pen name of Herron's. Not positive, as Goodreads provides confusing info. Just an FYI.
Great emotional writing. I cried reading every one of these books, some more than others but they all touched me deeply. Always a mark of a good writer when they can draw those kinds of emotions out of the reader.
This is books 1 through 4 of the series. You'll laugh, you'll cry. People are stubborn and you want to smack them, obviously. Things happen and you cry. Overall, these stories were mostly believable and very hot.
Great entertaining stories that are easy to read. Full of great characters, a great town and a good community within the fire brigade and emergency services.
