The Tate Brothers were raised to protect what is theirs…
Navy SEAL Wolf Tate is on a mission of vengeance. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to infiltrate the lair of his arms-dealing enemy—and rescue the mother he never knew. To do this, he’ll need more than his father’s fortunes or his brothers-in-arms.He must find a way to kidnap his enemy’s daughter for leverage. There’s just one problem: She is also one of Wolf’s closest friends—and the only woman he’s ever loved…
For years, Olivia de Santis has been waiting for Wolf to take her in his arms and make her dreams come true. But she never imagined that he’d sneak into her bedroom one night…and take her as his hostage. Olivia knows she should resist him—and stay loyal to her own family. But how can she deny the burning justice of Wolf’s mission, and the blazing desire in his eyes—even if giving into the heat of the moment can put her in grave danger?
Jackie has been writing fiction since she was eleven years old. Mild mannered fantasy/SF/pseudo-literary writer by day, obsessive romance writer by night, she used to balance her writing with the more serious job of librarianship until a chance meeting with another romance writer prompted her to throw off the shackles of her day job and devote herself to the true love of her heart – writing romance. She particularly likes to write dark, emotional stories with alpha heroes who've just got the world to their liking only to have it blown wide apart by their kick-ass heroines.
She lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband, the inimitable Dr Jax, two kids, two cats and some guppies (possibly dead guppies by the time you read this). When she's not torturing alpha males and their stroppy heroines, she can be found drinking chocolate martinis, reading anything she can lay her hands on, posting random crap on her blog, or being forced to go mountain biking with her husband.
The Undercover Billionaire is book three in the Tate Brothers series by Jackie Ashenden. Although I loved the second book in this series, I struggled a bit with this one. All of the characters were both being manipulated and manipulating others. I found it a little hard to like Wolf. I felt bad for the way everyone had used him but I still just couldn’t find a soft spot for him.
Wolfgang “Wolf” Tate, a Navy Seal, is home on bereavement leave due to the death of his adoptive father, Noah. Like his two other brothers, Wolf has received a letter from his father with a mission. Wolf’s dream is to find his birth mother. His father promises that this dream will be fulfilled if he accomplishes his mission. In order to do this, he needs information about his enemy and the focus of his mission, Cesare de Santis. Who better to get the information from than Cesare’s daughter, Olivia. The problem is, that Olivia is his friend. She’s the only person that has treated him like he is smart, that he is worth something. He won’t hurt her, he’ll just kidnap her and get the information he needs.
Olivia de Santis has known Wolf for nearly twelve years. She has also loved him for nearly as long. But she kept her feelings to herself, because she knows that he would never think of her as anything other than a friend. They haven’t seen each other in ten years while Wolf was serving as a Navy Seal. But they kept in touch via email and phone calls. So you can imagine her surprise when she was awakened in her own bed in her own home by none other than Wolf looming over her bed.
So begins Wolf and Olivia’s reunion. Olivia has no idea what her father is really like and can’t accept what Wolf is telling her. She is all her father has, and she feels nothing but loyalty to him. At the same time, she is fighting with her feelings towards Wolf. She has loved him for so long but this isn’t the Wolf of their childhoods. How can she love him if his goal is to kill someone she loves?
Wolf has never allowed himself to feel anything but friendship towards Olivia. And even that was never a real friendship. It was full of lies and deceit. The more time they spend together, though, the more an attraction builds between them.
Wolf has been used and manipulated by both his adoptive father and by Olivia’s father. He in turn, has continually lied to Olivia. Olivia has also been a pawn in this whole mess. Her father pretends to care about her but in reality has been planning on ways to use her to his own benefit. I struggled with all of this. No one was as they seemed, with Olivia seemingly caught in the middle of it all. Although she is a bit naïve, I have to give her credit. She’s a pretty smart woman and was a lot tougher than she gave herself credit for.
I have not read the first book in this series but I believe the timeline of the second and third books are running somewhat simultaneously. I did enjoy the epilogue and everything was pretty well wrapped up. The sexy times in this book are most definitely hot, the chemistry between Olivia and Wolf scorching. It’s possible my reaction to all the double dealing in this one is just my own personal reaction and that others will be fine with it. I just wish that I could have found more that I liked in Wolf.
I’ve read several of this authors books and I keep hoping that the next one will be the one that pulls her above the 3* rating. Unfortunately this wasn’t that book.
I was looking forward to this one but it just didn’t work for me. The more I got to know Wolf the more I disliked him and Olivia was too naive for me. I mean seriously she’s a twenty-eight year old never been kissed virgin who’d do anything for her father.
The kidnapping didn’t work for me and the fact that Olivia discovered Wolf’s mother in less than two hours was crazy why didn’t he get someone to do that for him?
I didn’t feel any chemistry between the main two characters and the whole thing just fell flat.
I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press
MMmm good one! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This story revolves around Wolf and Liv for just a few days, however they have known each other since they were teens. They have always been friends but now things have changed and the friendship has become secondary to the mission. A mission Wolf must complete for his father and the Tate name.
But things don’t turn out quite as planned. In fact, they are quite disastrous and throw a wrench into the delicate balance between Wolf and Liv. A painful back and forth that is stressful for us and them.
One of the things I love the most about this author’s stories is the fact she focuses on the emotional side of the guys and their attachment to the women in their lives. Ashenden writes with deep emotion and you can totally feel the physical connection sparking between Wolf and Olivia.
This story is loaded with flaming hot heat and passion. The main story line is almost secondary to the emotion, passion, and major feels they have for each other. The connection can be construed as both destructive and supportive, but with good reason that you will completely understand as you move though the story.
The author has crafted a unique read that is full of intense situations, hella hot romance, and a steamy man who is more than just muscle and brawn. Another winner for Ashenden and a definite must read for SEAL fans.
Unrequited love isn't really my jam but naive heroines are kind of my crack so I'm a bit biased when it comes to Olivia and Wolf.
Olivia has been in love with her best friend, Wolf, for several years now but being the mousy, shy introvert that she is, she's kind of accepted the fact that her love will always be one sided. No way that sexy Navy SEAL bad ass, Wolf Tate will ever look her way. But she figures being friends is better than nothing.
When he shows up in the middle of the night with crazy demands and a desperate look in his eyes, Olivia can't deny the equally crazy need to help him.
There is naive and then there's naive and Olivia is definitely the latter. She maintains this blind belief that Wolf can't possibly hurt/lie/use her for his own nefarious end because of her feelings for him. She hasn't seen Wolf for ten years, they've maintained a fragile connection through emails but nothing since she was sixteen and he was eighteen and even than it was still a fairly new friendship. She is an heroine that is sheltered, innocent and wears her heart on her sleeve for everyone to see. Which makes her a vulnerable and in need of protection.
Wolf on the other hand is a hardened weapon, single minded in his mission and blinded by his own needs to see the lies, half truths and clear betrayal of the man he calls father. Even beyond the grave, Wolf allows himself to be manipulated and used. In turn he has very little calms in using and manipulating Olivia.
This was a revenge plot that didn't really work for me. It was so obvious that his father was just using Wolf and yet, Wolf never wised up and continued being an obedient weapon for a man that showed nothing but contempt for him. The few flashbacks show a man who belittled him and slowly chipped away at Wolf's self esteem. It was a dysfunctional relationship based on blackmail. And yet this man meant more to Wolf than the only person that ever gave him any worth. Olivia was his only friend and he was still willing to betray her and that was a hard pill to swallow for a hero in a romance.
I wish Olivia would have done a few things differently. One, Wolf needed to be brought down a peg or two. Olivia definitely needed to stiffen her spine a bit and make him grovel a lot longer and a lot more than he actually does. Her forgiveness was won too easily. Secondly, I wish the author would have shown us a stronger more independent Olivia. I wanted to see her realize her worth and be able to stand on her own, separate from her father and apart from Wolf. She had potential to be a really strong and positive heroine but we never see her stand on her own, for her own sake. She's a strong supporter, always willing to put others ahead of herself but I wanted her to fight for her happiness and not have it so dependent on Wolf.
Would I recommend? If you follow the series, you'll like it. But as a stand alone, I think you might not understand the undercurrents of what drives Wolf and in turn might not enjoy his character as much as the others.
* * * ARC provided for an honest review * * * I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wolf Tate is on a mission, but in order to find and free the mother he never knew, he must kidnap one of his best friends, the only woman he ever loved, the daughter of his gravest enemy. Should be doable, but is it? Jackie Ashenden’s THE UNDERCOVER BILLIONAIRE has everything a reader could want, sizzling passion, an emotionally charged plot, high danger, high tension and we should be off and running, right?
Trust me, Ms. Ashenden can write, but this just didn’t have that “chemistry” I needed to glue myself to every page. I wasn’t sure I liked the hero all that much, he was just lacking something, call it “a fire in his belly or something.” Sure he was passionate about his mission, but whatever was between himself and Olivia just didn’t scream out as electric feelings...but lust, yes.
Olivia’s sheltered life comes out in spades, she seems too naïve about the world. I could not fathom she could be so clueless about her father or the man he was, not in the twenty-first century.
Will these two overcome all that is before them and can they BOTH live with the choices and actions Wolf has taken? Lots of sizzle, lots of steam, but through it all, I just couldn’t believe in this one.

Big thank you to Netgalley and Meghan Harrington at St. Martin’s Press Publicity for providing me with this series! I am looking forward to finishing the Tate Brothers trilogy!
The Undercover Billionaire by Jackie Ashenden is book Three in the Tate Brothers Series. This is the story of Olivia and Wolf. I have read the other books in this series but feel this can easily be a standalone book. Wolf and Liv have been friends since they were younger but Liv always had more feeling for him than just friends. Later in the present day Wolf is back after the death of his adoptive father. Wolf ends up getting a letter from him giving him information that could lead to finding out about his birth mother. To do so though he has to get information from the enemy and thinks to take his daughter as a hostage...that daughter is his friend Liv. I have really enjoyed this series!
This is book 3 in the Tate Brothers series and you probably could read it on it's own as each book is about a different brother, but if you want to know the back story then I strongly advise reading the first two books in order before this one.
This has been a great alpha male series by Jackie Ashenden and I have immensely enjoyed my journey with all 3 Tate brothers. This one is Wolfs story, not my favourite of the 3 but I still loved it regardless. I'm not going to rehash whats already in the blurb because it tells you all you need to know.
Wolf Tate is a Navy Seal Alpha through and through, he's smart, all muscle, extremely good looking and can be such a dirty taker at times. All in all he's what every reader would want their lead males to be in a book. Don't get me wrong there was times in the first half of the book where I just wanted to throat punch him for the way he was treating Olivia but I think he more than makes up for it when he finally gets his act together.
Olivia De Santis is just simply smart and beautiful but she doesn't get a lot of attention because her father hides her away from the outside world, so she has no idea how gullible she really is towards her father. That is until Wolf Tait opens her eyes to whats really going on under her nose and at first she refuses to believe that someone that close to her could be so callous. Olivia has loved Wolf since she was a teenager so her journey through the book isn't an easy one and initially it's hard reading because she is so gullible but you get to see her wisen up and grow more of a backbone i defending herself and her beliefs.
Overall it's probably my least favourite of the series and I found it a little to wordy/descriptive in places but all the same it was still an enjoyable and extremely satisfying read and I am looking forward to see what the author brings us next.
QuickShot Review This was an ok read. It depended on the buildup to this big “deception” and well…. The story suffered from a lack of connection between the hero and heroine. You need that chemistry to carry that kind of storyline so the payoff of those climactic scenes clicks. Here, the inevitable betrayal and the resolution of that just didn’t work for me. I am usually a fan of Ms. Ashenden’s writing, but I’m going to chalk this up to a lack of knowledge of this series. It’s just not my cuppa.
**ARC provided by publisher via netgalley for review**
**My thanks to NetGalley and St Martins Press, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
This is the last book in the series and at first i was totally unsure of the characters, especially Olivia. Olivia is mid twenties, dresses like a nun, a virgin and never been kissed. She is also completely sheltered and naive.
Wolf is a navel SEAL and figures himself stupid, he also has a bit of a temper on him. In most of the book he does what has been expected of him as a weapon, whilst thinking he is not the sharpest tool in the box which annoys me. He has had his mind fucked by his father and by Cesare de Santis.
Olivia who has had a crush on Wolf since she was 15\16 takes Wolf in his stride, but finds her life falling apart by a few abrupt revelations about her father from Wolf. It is from there that the doubt creeps in and she is able to dig about for her fathers final downfall.
The chemistry between the two is combustable, and Olivia does some growing up over the course of the book which redeems her character, but Wold is the only brother that does not bring in another for help, he just asks them a couple of very quick questions that leave him reeling.
The Undercover Billionaire by Jackie Ashenden is a steamy tale of lust and revenge, and the third story in the Tate Brother’s series. In a previous series, Billionaire Fairytales, the De Santis brothers all found happy endings despite a difficult upbringing. Now it’s their sister Olivia’s turn.
Olivia De Santis knows all about the feud between the Tate family and the De Santis family, brought on by a falling out between her father Cesare and his one time best friend Noah Tate. Mortal enemies, the children of those men grew up knowing only what their fathers told them, which was not always the truth. When Wolf Tate showed up as a teenager in Olivia’s home with a tale of woe about abuse at the hands of his adopted father Noah, she befriended him. Over the years Wolf had worked for her father but for Olivia, he’d been someone she could confide in, even during the years when he was away in the military. So when he shows up to kidnap her in the middle of the night, she goes with him willingly.
Wolf’s finally at the end game of his mission. A double agent for his father, he’d infiltrated the De Santis household. Now his father Noah is dead, and he believes Cesare is to blame. He plans to kill him though he can’t tell Olivia that, only that she has the information he needs as Cesare’s assistant to help bring him down. He’s willing to do anything to get it, even seduce the young woman whom he once considered a friend. But what starts out as a plan for revenge gets complicated when he can’t separate his mission from his real feelings for Olivia. In the end will their friendship lead to love or ruin?
I love reading Jackie Ashenden’s novels for the intense action and sexy scenes and her ability to make you care about the characters. If you haven’t read any of the previous linking book in the two series, don’t worry, this one reads well as a standalone though it also ties up some of the story arc loose ends of the series. Wolf turns out to be one of my favorite heroes of the bunch because his conscience comes through in time to prevent him from making a big mistake. Plus, while he is attracted to Olivia (and vice versa), in contrast to some of her other heroes he is not quite as rough in the bedroom and treats her with a gentler touch.
Olivia turns out to be a stronger heroine than even she’d expected, quickly learning to stand up for herself against her father, a man who has many secrets. Of course she doesn’t want him to die and works toward finding a solution that will enable him to live while still paying for his crimes. Both Olivia and Wolf learn a lot of family secrets in this one that impact them emotionally but also draw them together. It turns out that the friendship they developed starting in their teens isn’t so easy to dismiss despite some shocking revelations, and is the foundation of their true feelings for each other. They get their happy ending and the series is neatly wrapped up with this final exciting chapter. It’s an entertaining and enjoyable read.
The Undercover Billionaire by Jackie Ashenden The Tate Brothers #3
I was looking forward to this book having rated the first two books rather highly. This book could have been so much better. Why do I say this? In the previous books I found Wolf to be strong, dark and rather mysterious with great potential but in this book, as his story emerged, I found him the most damaged and least able to think for himself. I understand that he had been rather brainwashed by his father but still…to be so immersed in his mission that he could not see beyond what his rather demented and twisted father had told him for so many years did not fall in line with my beliefs about a navy SEAL who must have been able to think for himself and make deductions on his own. I also found the things he did a bit…strange…to say the least. The relationship between Wolf and Olivia was difficult to believe, too. And, how could Olivia take some of the things Wolf said and still be interested in him? I will read more books by this author but this one was not my favorite.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) This is the third book in the series, and I am assuming it is the last since this is the third and last Tate brother. This is Wolf's story, and if you are familiar with this series, and I seriously hope you started from book one the Dangerous billionaire (Van's story) you remember how the last book ended (the Wicked Billionaire-Lucas story), with how we found out that Wolf was working for the evil Desantis. We were all freaking out, atleast I know I was, however I kept telling myself it could not be true, he could not be betraying his foster brothers. So was he? well my friends you need to read. The only thing I kind of wished I would have been able to read was Olivia's getting to know her half sister Chloe..
I have read all the Tate Brothers books, and unfortunately this one was my least favourite.
I did struggle to get through the first half of the book, things felt a bit contrived to me,
Wolf Tate - still not sure whether I liked him or not. BUT he did feel more SEAL than secretary than the guys in the other 2 books. He just lacked something.
Olivia read more like a teenager than a 28 year old woman. Yeah, she had been sheltered, but sheesh, I couldn't help roll my eyes at her more than once with her naivete. It's not like she had been locked in a basement, she has all this 21st century technology, but she was just so ugh, I can't even think of a word for it! I mean, she could track down things in 4.2 seconds, but didn't know what was going on under her nose??
I didn't feel the connection between Wolf and Olivia either, which was a shame.
But this could just be me.
Don't get me wrong, Ms Ashenden writes well, but The Undercover Billionaire was a miss for me.
I do look forward to seeing what she has for us in the future.
When I read the blurb to Undercover Billionaire I knew I needed to read it. I have been absolutely obsessed with the Tate brothers and this series and wanted to know how the third book would play out. I knew Jackie Ashenden's would deliver a hot alpha male and a sassy heroine that gives as good as she gets. That is exactly what we got in this book. Wolf and Olivia were hot and sexy and I could not get enough of them!
When Wolf Tate looks to avenge his father's death and kill Cesare de Santis he decides to kidnap his old friend and Cesar's daughter - Olivia de Santis. But what happens when old feelings come to the surface and lines get crossed? Will Wolf put his revenge first and foremost or will he realize how much Olivia means to him?
I really loved this novel. I thought it was hot and sexy and I could not get enough of their chemistry together I loved that Olivia brought out Wolf's emotional and vulnerable side and made him question all the things he thought to be true. But when old secrets and lies come to light - boy what an explosive ending!! All in all this was fantastic! And the sexy times? UM. smoking and combustible! What a great addition to the series!
I would like to thank Netgalley and the SMP Romance Team for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula
This was the last of this series I assume and since I actually liked the last one I thought this one would be the culmination of things and the "best for last" but this was not the case, felt more like a rush job to meet a deadline.
Wolf was a pretty inconsistent character, and some of the navel gazing got old towards the end. Our heroine was supposed to be some kind of really smart and really naive but it all came across as really unreal and unbelievable.
So what we have is an alpha male (like all of this authors heroes) some sort of "poor rich girl" who is coupled with what looks to be a mentally disturbed hero.
All this was just too much, this could have been a much better series with more effort on the story and less on the sex (which she managed best in book 2) instead this last book comes across as some kind of pulp fiction that was basically entertaining but allowed scanning of large sections with no loss of story or plot.
3 Stars and wishing it was better than it was and realizing that this series hit its peak in book 2.
DNF... Apparently this is the third book in the series... I didn't know this! I was told it could be read as standalone. unfortunately I didn't like what I had read. I read until 30% and it was too confusing for me to try and figure, especially in the beginning.
Olivia de Santis and Wolf Tate have been friends for years and they always had feelings for one another but never acted on it. In fact Olivia is still a virgin in her 20s, while this isn't so far fetched considering how controlling her father is I did find it rather hard to believe that she had no idea how ruthless her father was.
Wolf is a whole other story, he is a Navy Seal home on special leave because his father passed away. He and his brothers each received a letter from their adoptive father laying things out for them, with a mission they needed to uphold. Upon reading his letter Wolf thinks it's in his best interest to kidnap Olivia because she is the daughter of his fathers enemy. Wolf was lied to and manipulated for the majority of his life and it was really sad seeing how he though he was unworthy of anything.
Unfortunately this series has been hit and miss with me. I liked the story for the most part but for me the chemistry just wasn't there in this one. The sex scenes were hot but there just wasn't any real feelings, it was more lust then love in my opinion.
This is the third and final book in this series and although you can read the books as a standalone I would suggest reading them in the order they were released so you will avoid any spoilers because they do cross over a bit.
Olivia's brothers have their own series, The Billionaire Fairy Tales Series, and I really enjoyed their stories so you should check them out too.
Happy Reading!!!
**I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book**
The Undercover Billionaire is at it's very core a story of redemption and self worth, realizing that you don't need to live up to others expectations of you, fit into the boxes that they've labelled for you. Olivia and Wolf are very different yet similar. I loved watching their relationship evolve from friends to lovers. Their sex scenes were hot, loved them. I enjoyed this book and felt it was a fitting end to an awesome series.
I have really enjoyed this series about three brothers all adopted, all SEALs and when their father dies they all have a mission and now we get Wolf’s story and his mission is one that is going to turn his heart and mind inside out as he goes after the family’s mortal enemy Cesare de Santis and this brings him a back to his friend Olivia de Santis, hang on to your seat as this journey has a few ups and downs.
Wolf is like a tight coil ready to spring forth he was bought up by Noah Tate his adoptive father to be a weapon for the family always told he had no brains leave that to his brothers so he infiltrates the de Santis household when he is young and kind of works at a double agent but in doing so he gets to know Oliva really well they become friends along the way and as the years pass they still exchange emails. However the time has come now for Wolf to complete his mission but this is going to be hard because of his one true friend Olivia, will he be able to get it done.
Olivia has been kept close to home by her father she lost her mother when young and her older brothers have now taken over the family business and practically disowned her father, she craves some love from her father and does what he wants her to do, but she has never forgotten Wolf the young boy she met years before the one person she could talk to the one person she fell for and now all these years later he kidnaps her and emotions flow and sparks fly as they fight a battle to get to the truth of a family feud that goes back years before.
This story had me really wanting to hit Wolf at times he could be frustrating but I totally understood with the upbringing he had he only ever wanted a family and his lousy father dangled it in front of him like a carrot, then there is Olivia and what strength and courage she shows as she suddenly seems to grow up and sees that she never stopped loving Wolf. Fury bought them together for the first time but wow their friendship stood firm through lies and heartbreak and danger to bring them together for true love and a future of bliss and a very sensual and moving HEA.
The Undercover Billionaire is the 3rd book in the Tate Brothers series by Jackie Ashenden. Wolfgang (aka Wolf ) Tate, a Navy Seal, is home on bereavement leave due to the death of his adoptive father, Noah. Wolf receives a letter from his father, just like his other two brother received, one that sends him on a mission. This is one that if he completes, he will get information that will lead him to his birth mother whom he has always wanted to find. Thing is, he needs info on his enemy who is also the target of his mission - Cesare de Santis. Wolf gets the idea to get info on his target by getting the information from Casare’s daughter Olivia. Only one thing, she is a good friend of his and that could put his mission in danger plus cost him the loss of a good friend. What’s this sexy SEAL to do? Oh I could tell you but instead I will recommend you read this sizzling romantic action/suspense read. All I will say is Wolf is a bad bad boy and Olivia is going to make him pay (smile). I loved the witty banter between Wolf and Olivia. Olivia is a spitfire, sassy and very sweet. She has harboured a deep love for Wolf for over 10 + years which Wolf doesn’t know at first. Wolf is all alpha male, possessive and determined. This makes for a fantastic read. I look forward to reading what Ms. Ashenden writes.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
The Undercover Billionaire is packed with action! It has kidnapping, fighting, shooting, and more. The book definitely had a different feel than the first two books in the series.
Wolf is SEAL, so naturally he is strong and deadly. He is also so bent on vengeance that he can’t see anything else, including a future with the woman of his dreams. He has some redeeming qualities, but I found it hard to like a SEAL who would be so dishonorable as to behave the way Wolf does.
Olivia was sweet, trusting, but also rather naive. She is nearly 30 years old but very innocent and immature. I just found her a little too sweet and naive.
The plot was interesting and held my attention for the most part. It had a lot of action and spy-type missions. The intimate moments were steamy, although it felt a bit like Stockholm Syndrome at times.
This was the third book in the series about the Tate brothers. It can be read as a standalone or as part of the series. While I enjoyed The Undercover Billionaire, it was probably my least favorite of the three. I highly encourage everyone to read book one first!
The Undercover Billionaire by Jackie Ashenden will take romance readers on an emotional journey. This author is known for her anti-heroes. Ashenden’s heroes are jerks and we love them. But this hero, Wolf Tate…really takes the cake. Wolf is a Navy SEAL who will do anything to infiltrate the enemy, even pretending to be friends with the enemy’s daughter.
Olivia de Santis has been in love with Wolf for a while now and when he comes to kidnap her, she doesn’t think much of it, since they are good friends. When Wolf starts spilling secrets and tells her, their friendship was a lie, Olivia’s life gets turned upside down. What Wolf doesn’t anticipate, is how much Olivia means to him and how real their relationship actually is.
Olivia and Wolf’s chemistry is off the charts. As readers get to know Wolf and realize why he’s acting this way, it’s hard to stay mad at him. Olivia, on the other hand, was a bit too quick to forgive Wolf. I would have preferred her to give him a bit of heck, before forgiving him…but’s that’s just me. Overall, The Undercover Billionaire is an enjoyable read.
The Undercover Billionaire is the third book in the Tate Brother's Series but can be read as a stand-alone novel. For me it had plenty of suspense, drama, humour, action and sexy which is what I especially like in books however the MC's were so annoying at times. They just weren't, well, nice to each other. There was just no trust there when their situation called for an element of at least some, and they only ever seemed to even like each other when they were having sex, which is all well and good but it just didn't work for me. Overall, an OK read I just wanted more character connection.
*ARC kindly given by NetGallery in exchange for an honest review. Thankies so much*
*ARC from NetGalley for Honest Review* I Give this book a Frustating 2 Stars
I say Frustrating because this was a book that had my attention at some points and other times I just wanted to toss it and say “F*ck It!” Because some things just was too unbelievable or just down right didn’t make sense. Olivia is a Blahh character, just too naive (severely). Her infatuation with Wolf was VERY unrealistic and horrifyingly ‘virginized’ Wolf is using her as a revenge tactic that he was told to do at a young age, and then literally one touch from her years later and it’s a damn INSTA. It was unconfounded! The whole story was a whirlwind of messes, that we’re just plain obvious or just plain ridiculous.
I give this book 2 stars
Would I read more from this author? Yes, I know this author is capable out a magnificent 5 star read and I’m patiently waiting, this sadly wasn’t one of the finer ones.
The Undercover Billionaire (Tate Brothers #3) by Jackie Ashenden 3 stars M/F Romance Triggers: Kidnapping, attempted murder I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
This is the second book that I've read in this series. I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the previous book.
Wolf is a hard character for me to like. He seems so naive and strange. He loves Olivia, but then uses her throughout the story. Then you have the issue that he seems to be manipulated so easily by several people in his life.
Olivia is a tough woman. I thought she was a stronger character, but still felt that she was missing something. She was so sheltered that it was hard to believe that she would've been able to see what truly was going on around her. She wanted Wolf to choose her and I can understand that. But, in the end, her story was almost about getting even for Wolf.
They had decent chemistry and there were a lot of emotions floating around. Overall, this had potential, but just didn't deliver for me.
I am a bit conflicted about this book - I liked it, but didn't love it as I loved the first 2 books in this series. Both Olivia and Wolf came off as been weak and easily manipulated. I can give a little leeway (not a lot) to Olivia because she has been under her father's thumb all her life. Wolf on the other hand, is suppose to be this bad-ass Navy Seal, a weapon with many successful missions, but still easily manipulated for many years by his dad. This whole story/plot did not impress me. All in all an okay read. I am still a huge Jackie Ashenden fan , she is one of my go-to authors for an awesome read.
Undercover Billionaire is the third in the Tate Brothers series by Jackie Ashenden. Having by-passed the first two I enjoyed this enough to make me crave reading the other two. Many action filled pages led by Wolf Tate using his military tactics as a Navy Seal to topple the rival de Santis family. Infiltrating this family started when he was a teenager masterminded by his father Noah Tate. Only brick wall is Olivia de Santis who will work to protect her father Cesar from Wolf's vendetta of death. Kidnapping, Lies, Miss placed Loyalty, and Love make this a novel not to overlook. I guess I liked this book. It held my interest, but it still annoyed the hell out of me. The heroine was just one big blush--that's all she did. Blush, fidget, fumble, make stupid decisions... I didn't like her.
The hero was sexy, broken, sexy, obsessed with finding his family, sexy, rough, sexy, and...did I mention sexy. Big, broad, and badass. My kind of alpha warrior hero.
The plot was just too...full. There was so much going on that I ended up skipping over parts and I know I missed pieces of the relationship building, but I didn't care enough to go back.
My least favorite of all the brothers. This story explained how he was probably lied to most by those that should be trusted to care for a child and not use them as a weapon.
