Bhric Tarakesh is drowning at the bottom of a scotch-filled barrel. One bad decision after another has led him to alcoholism, bar fights, alienation of his family, and, the cherry topper of his shit sundae, impregnating a female he abhors. As he spirals out of control, a cataclysmic event thrusts him into a human hospital and into the hands of a sexy doctor that sets his icy soul on fire, guaranteeing his world will never be the same.
Alex Layne, a prominent physician at Harborview Hospital is thrown into a world she thought was myth when a dying man is brought into her ER. While treating him, she panics when she sees his fangs and makes an uncharacteristic decision to sneak him out of the hospital, and harms way. And, that’s only the beginning. As she helps him heal and recover, she discovers a new world of vampires, shifters, and demons, but that doesn’t compare to the lust and passion that leaves her craving the vampire’s bite.
Alex has had hard times and is alone and Bhric is drowning his sorrows in an excessive use of alcohol. They meet seemingly by accident and are thrust together, and irresistible passion follows between the two of them. But in reality there is the Fate at work bringing them together to heal themselves and find eternal love. The love story is passionate and heartwarming. There are also fascinating brief glimpses of the supernatural world of the Tehrex Realm and it's denizens, and two archdemon villains wreaking havoc amongst them. The story is good and fascinating enough. Recommended to all fans of paranormal romances.
I have so far read all 13 books and each one just keeps getting better and better. The twists and turns just keep on coming Alex and Bhiric’s story was very good it made me want there story to continue. I cannot wait to begin reading book 14 in the Dark Warrior Alliance. Im truly in love with this series!
Ice Warrior is the thirteenth book in the Dark Warrior Alliance series. As per typical of me, this is the first book in the series I started with of course instead of book one. Fortunately, this story could be read without having to have read books 1-12 to enjoy it.
A Scottish, alcoholic, possibly baby-daddy vampire--who knew?! Bhric Tarakesh has issues. The prince deals with stress and denial with temper tantrums and by drowning his sorrows in the drink. That all changes one fateful night when Bhric is attacked and loses his memory and ends up in the hospital where he meets his fated mate, Dr. Alexandra Layne. Meanwhile, Bhric's family fears him dead when they find what's left of his motorcycle and his Tarakesh signet ring--Bhric would never remove his ring. And then there is the body burnt beyond recognition that is believed to be him. Bhric's twin Breslin is the only one who doesn't believe Bhric to be dead.
Alexandra Layne is not the typical fated mate. She's not the typical beautiful and perfect fated mate as usually described in most stories. Alex is real and has had real problems, scars, and insecurities that most women can relate. Alex's beauty lies in her strength, determination, and fearlessness. The very best message in this story is Bhric's acceptance of Alex just the way she is. To him, Alex is beautiful and perfect. Alex's acceptance of Bhric is inevitable but she is a bit freaked out by Bhric's world when she crashes in it without any warning. Being the survivor she is, Alex does what she must to escape the clutches of two evil archdemons, Crocell and Cresil.
This story has it all. It's mildly suspenseful, an old-fashioned romance with a paranormal twist and pretty funny. The funniest scene in this story is when the Fremont Troll statue, aka Elvis, comes to life--stark naked--when he hears Alex's plea for help. Elvis warns Alex "You might want to cover your eyes"..."Once you go troll, you never go back. I doubt your mate will want you to see what I can offer. It'll make him insecure about his ability to please you."
A good story with good characters. On my Were Scale of Hotness, 4 stars.
Anyone who has had breast cancer or is disfigured somehow nerd to read this one. Frankly I'm surprised the authors decided to tackle this hard subject. They really thought this one through too. It was so well approached. I mean you have the lack of sensations in the breasts & the mental trauma that cancer causes. I can't imagine what that has to be like. However, as a woman I think we can all relate to the self doubt and constant comparisons we do to other women. And lets face it the media doesn't help us with it! When I first started reading this Bhric just pissed me off! Just telling it like it is. He's in denial about being an alcoholic. And he could have killed someone driving drunk several times. Not to mention the pain he puts his family through. I think it's poetic justice that he's injured and what happens when he next drinks. That's all I'm saying I didn't want to ruin it for anyone. I can't believe that Alex is a human doctor that discovers he's a vampire yet, she she risks everything to help him. Including her job and career. It's absurd to me that she didn't think he was a threat to her. Yeah, I get that they are mates & can't kill each other but she's his walking buffet. Lol! Anyway this is such a healing story emotionally for her after being dumped after losing her breasts to cancer. And he needed healing emotionally as well from the trauma of his parents death when he was so young. Unfortunately, he didn't know how to handle certain emotions and turned to alcohol to calm down and numb the pain. You never learn how to properly handle those emotions by masking them. This is later addressed in the book to. Guess who is next to mate? Breslinn and you will love the compromising position her brother finds her in in the sneak peak at the next book.
In this DWA book Bhric, brother of the king and twin of Breslin, finds his mate in a very strange way.
Bhric's drinking problem has been a concern to his family and the other Dark Warriors for some time now. It finally reaches a critical point when he starts a fight with the wrong guy at a bar and gets jumped in the parking lot. Sober he would have won the fight hands down but drunk off his butt he is overpowered and almost beheaded. Left with a knife sticking out of his head he is helpless and near death. Taken to a human hospital he is almost the reason for vampires being outed to the human race, but fortunately his doctor finds out first and ghosts him away to her house.
Alex has not had the best of luck with men. Her ex left her when she developed breast cancer and had to have her breasts removed. Dirt-bag. Now she spends all her time at the hospital working in the trauma unit. When a gorgeous man is brought in with a severe head injury, among other things, she is amazed at his apparent healing capability. When she finds the fangs in his mouth she almost panics, but then she realizes that she has to get him out of there before someone else finds out and he ends up in the hands of the military of something. When he comes to and can't remember his name she has to hope that his memories come back, cos what she gonna do with permanent vampire house guest?
Love these warriors. Bhric finally got his act together but it took a lot. Bhric got in a fight at a bar. He got stabbed in the stomach and through his neck into his brain. When paramedics brought him into the hospital, Alex was the doctor on duty. The paramedics thought they were going to lose him because of so much blood loss. When Alex looked at his neck wound the blood flow seemed to be slowing. The MRI showed that the knife entered part of his brain. So she wasn't sure if he would be able to walk or even make sense while talking. She was still examining him when she saw his fangs drop down. Then she checked the wound and noticed it was quickly healing. She decided not to tell anyone and get him out of the hospital quickly. She figuredthat if anyone found out about him being a vampire they would do all kinds of experiments on him and possibly use him as a weapon. She gets him home and realizes that he has no memory of anything, not even his name. Things happen and the mating marks appear but he doesn't remember what they are or why they are there. Bhric and Alex go through a lot to get to their HEA, including fighting the twin blue demons. Lots of excitement you don't want to miss! Start reading this series from book one!
Those of us who have followed this story have been waiting for Bhric to finally get his story, to change his ways and to become the warrior we all know he can be. Finally we have that story.
Alex Layne is a human doctor, working in the same hospital as Jace but still completely naïve in the ways of of the supernatural world. Fate is in control when Bhric is attacked by a rogue vampire bent on killing him and he is brought to the ER, Dr Alex is the one who takes care of him and instead of being completely frightened by him she is determined to keep him from becoming an experiment.
As with all the Trim and Julka books, this is amazing and so worth reading! I have loved every minute of this series and have read every book. That says something because ususally authors run out of ideas after five or six books, but here we are at book 13 and it is still as exciting and intriguing as book one.
Bhric is a vampire prince with the gift of ice, whose twin, Breslin, has the gift of fire. He's always been a thrill seeker with a penchant for alcohol, which has become an addiction. But when he's attacked while leaving a human bar, his world is forever changed.
Alex is an emergency room doctor and cancer survivor. Three years earlier, her doctor husband divorced her when she had the surgery that left her body scarred. As thoughts about him swirl through her mind, a huge man is brought in, bleeding badly from wounds to his body and head. But when his eyes briefly open and look into hers, her life changes instantly.
As with prior books, the female paid a heavy price for being a mate. But overall it is still a good read, one I had difficulty putting down in spots. Breslin's story is up next.
Brilliant storyline with great characters and having the main female character featured as a doctor as well as a breast cancer survivor was fantastic. Bhric is the youngest Prince as has used alcohol as a crutch when reality becomes too much. Getting drunk and then robbed and assaulted with injuries so bad hr can't even remember who and what he is. Alex is the doctor on duty who treats him and realises that he is vampire and takes him home to protect him. I absolutely loved the tale of Bhric and Alex and would heartily recommend this book hoping that others will enjoy reading it as well.
When Ice meets fire, there bound to be an explosion. And explosion there is. Warrior twins Bhric and his sister Breslin are Ice and Fire. Together they are a power pack for the team. Then Fate takes over and more heats up then the siblings ever thought possible. The Goddess has blessed them. Mates of their own? Do the ice cold and flaming hot siblings find their happy ever after. Find out in this steamy adventure that gives you more than anyone bargained for.
Bhric hasn’t been himself and his drinking is out of hand and gets into a fight that lands him in the ER. Alex who is a doctor meets the sexy Bhric when he comes into her ER and she knows something isn’t right with him but feels he needs to protect him. Bhric can’t remember anything about himself and is grateful that Alex is by his side and is helping him. Fate definitely brought them together but when the Evil twins take Alex, Bhric will do anything to get his mate back. I am absolutely hooked on this series and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
I have been provided with a copy of Ice Warrior by the author for an impartial review. This is the thirteenth book in the Dark Warrior Alliance series and I just loved getting to reenter this amazing world. Ahhhh this book was just so good. I am just so happy that Bhric is finally getting his own story. I was just captivated by this story and I just couldn’t stop reading it until I turned the last page. I finished this title in a day and I immediately wanted more. I just fell in love with Bhric and Alex and I was so sad to turn the last page. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Trim and Julka did it again with this story. Bhric was totally screwed up. His lose if his parents at such a young age had left him wanting. His twin sister and his family tried to help him but he went to drinking instead of family. One night he went a step to far and almost died. That's when his life changed when he met Alex the doctor who would become his life's dream. Read this fantastic love story where your rooting for true love forever.
Its been a while since I read this book but I'm trying to update my good reads account so I'll do the best I can to review this for y'all. I remember I really enjoyed this one the leading lady helps the hero after he ends up in her E.R. She knows he's not 100% human and she doesn't want to see him become a guinea pig so she steals him from the hospital and takes him back to her place where she nurses him back to health and patiently waits for explanations
Bhric appears to be the rebel Prince, but his bad behavior and excessive drinking was all apart of covering his feelings of abandonment and being used by a woman who insisted her unborn child was his. Fate steps in and this episode shows us what a good woman can do to turn a man's world around. Great reading, as there isn't a file moment when you have a glimpse into the lives of these supernatural beings.
This was my first book of the series and I want to go and start from the beginning now. I liked the story overall. I have a few issues with some parts. *(Spoilers ) Such as moments after Alex is near death from her torture and Kace says it will take a few times she is just suddenly able to jump into Bhrics arms... like okay there is magic and there is unbelievable. Other than that I enjoyed the story and characters.
Ice Warrior: (Dark Warrior Alliance Book 13) by Brenda Trim & Tami Julka. Bhric is seriously injured in a fight and is taken to hospital. Doctor Alex sees how quickly he heals then sees his fangs descend, realises he’s a vampire and if discovered would be experimented on so sneaks him out of the hospital. They are fated mates and Alex is kidnapped by demons. Can Bhric find her before she is killed?
I really enjoy these books. Bhric's story was very interesting and I'm happy he got his hea. The reason he was drinking so much wasn't really addressed which i think it should of been. There's a couple of things that weren't mentioned, like his ring or who the vampire he fought was. It was still a good book.
Ice Warrior is the thirteenth book in the Dark Warrior Alliance series. This can be read as a standalone. There is violence and sex. While I have really enjoyed most of the books in this series, this one wasn't as exciting. It was okay and I'm glad I read it (since I've read all the rest of the series). But it wasn't as good as most of the other books.
Loved this book, one of the best. My only criticism would be that Bhric's 'Problem' (don't want to give away any spoilers) was over too quickly. All in all though another great read from Trim and Julka and I can't wait for the next instalment.
I chose this rating because i absolutely enjoyed this story line it had a great plot first book I have ever read where a vampire had amnesia his female ER doctor was his forever mate.. Enjoy
Could not put any of these books down! Exceptional! Can hardly wait for book 14 to come out. Never a dull moment! Don't Miss this series!!!! All the characters come alive. You feel like you are right there with them!
This entire series is awesome! The unique characters, the fight scenes, and the myriad of beings keeps me on my toes, unable to put the book down, practically salivating for more. One of my favorite series out there!
Yet again you have excelled yourselves, was really looking forward to this book and you didn't disappoint what can I say I've read and enjoyed everyone in this series thank you so much
Bhric had the hardest time out of all of them it seems. An accident, a fight, fate, love, a baby, and so much more. Wow. This was one of the better stories in this series. So glad that he finally got his happily ever after. oh and can I just say those accents. I want one lol!
Like all series there are some good, some great, and some OK. This one is my all time favorite!! I love how each character is in each book and make you part of the story but hands down this book was by far the best!
That's what I have to write for my review. You WILL be ignited reading this book. Feel The slow burn 🔥 and watch the glacial ice flare to life. The authors did a superb job of weaving a wonderful fantasy. Enjoy readers. 01192020_Pottsville, PA.
